i find it laughable that people say it isnt heavy metal. god damn some of those riffs are just as killer as ever. Plenty of vintage metallichugs. The album just has a laid back groovy vibe and less of a classical music type metal vibe.

From that perspective, I understand the disappointment from the die-hard metalheads. It would be like if a band called The Jazz Quartet suddenly decided to do an album in a style similar to Cradle of Filth. All the old diehards would be complaining, "Hey, this isn't jazz!". My music taste has changed alot over the years, and I've gotten to the point where I've not only accepted, but actually grown to love this sort of southern, bluesy rock album that I couldn't stand 20 years ago. I love Poor Twisted Me, Ronnie, The Outlaw Torn, it's a good CD to play when you need something to keep you awake but not heavy enough to let the hair fly.

I was at this tour. This was the Death Magnetic tour. The fastest selling concert to date. I only managed to get a ticket up the back. Sold out in about 3 mins. They came back in 2013 and did Soundwave but haven't come back since.
