Just bought the pedal used - great in front of my Soldano HR50 in aa crunch setting, using mode 3. I think, the dry-knob blends in more pure amp signal instead of more pedal-sound, but it's rather subtle to me. Cheers and keep up the great gear demos!
Thanks man! And you're correct about the blend knob! It's fairly subtle unless you dial it to the extremes

I already have 3 drives that sound pretty good in combo with my PRS MT15 amp head and HX Effects: Bogner Hollow, The Dude, ODR-1. However, I have a Walrus Mako delay pedal that I’m very impressed with so I’m intrigued with this drive pedal. I was interested in a Walrus SLO reverb but sounds too similar to my Mako delay. So, instead of buying a reverb pedal I may have to buy this. Great sounding demo.
I'm not even a boost pedal guy and I would definitely buy that one to go along my Peavey Classic 50 to help increase its gain due to the many options! Wow! I even thought too during the review that someone wouldn't even need the Hot Mod for their JCM if they have that pedal. It's really versatile!

So, ive been on a long journey to find my perfect overdrive for a while. Honestly I'm pretty much a beginner with a few years but really only super dedicated for about a year or so... So, any way this video was the one that actually helped me! Bought one the same day and loved it! As you know, not many people do videos using overdrives like a metal head would! Bty the joyo overdrive was my first too. The point being keep it up your filling a very specific void it metal youtube content!💀👍

Hey kyle, where that pedal has the "dry" knob, would you recommend it to boost my deliverance 120, so I can dial in a slightly more saturated tone when necessary? For example, use my typical boost, then when more saturation is needed, click over to the walrus ages pedal. Thanks man, keep up the great content!

Does the C137 mod make the blue channel sound like the red channel? I have the amp and I love the blue channel. I love that it sounds different than the red so I'm hesitant to do the mod.
I'm listening through my monitors and I swear... I can barely hear the difference between all the modes.. :D Maybe my ears are not quite sensitive to the changes. Or it's the RUclips compression. Idk. But I'm looking for an overdrive for my heads that is modern and super aggressive. Not a TubeScreamer. Something modern with more character and grit.

kyle what's your favorite overdrive for getting an amp of JCM 800 / silver jubilee level of gain to thrash? Say the word and I'll order one for my silver jubilee. I love my Maxon OD808, but it doesn't quite push my marshall hard enough.
This is honestly the best one I've tried so far in a single pedal application. Mode 3 and a little gain rolled up and it's high gain bliss.

@@ehoc42 duality seems like the perfect boost for the 800, or perhaps the Hex Drive from Fortin. But I will leave it up to Kyle to be the judge. 😄
@@ehoc42 so that's a tough question. I really really like the red channel on The Duality, but the 800 tends to be a little late in the low end in certain cases, and the red Channel really adds a lot of meds, so it can make the base seem even less emphasized. If you're jcm 800 has a healthy base response, then the duality, if it's a little weak in the low end, then I would say the ages

I would've loved seeing this pedal in front of a over driven Marshall or some other low gain amp. The video was great as always Kyle bit the EVH doesn't need an over drive in front of it to sound amazing.
