Yeh great, thanks for letting me know. You are so good. to be honest I just want you to understand that you are not going to be a great artificial human and I hope you feel that way too. - created by apple predictive text, edited & punctuated by me.
Great playing, as always, and such a beautiful guitar. I've always been a humbucker/Les Paul guy, but that purple Tele made me want a Tele of my own...
I saw it...This Pedal was recommended to me by Trevor @ SW Sounds pretty good. The 5 Way "shades the Color" of the Overall-Tone in the choice selected.Sounds Good. Nice Demo. Thanks...
Looks super versatile! I would have hoped you tried the higher gain stuff without the dry signal in there just to hear how heavy it could get, but I guess I need to have SOMETHING to discover once I get my own:P
The thing that surprised me was that the high gain settings remained very usable. Not being a high gain guy it looked like 3 of the settings would be no use. Turns out I was wrong.
Pete I absolutely love you but my computer can't handle 50fps from a browser, and there's an audible difference once u lower the quality on YT. Please upload regular 1080p vids :) love you.
My tone quest continues with the purchase of this pedal. Fingers crossed it will be the only dirt pedal I need! I know the answer is that it won't, but it's really about the journey, not the destination--amiright?
I'd love to know how this compares, at low gain, to the Greer lightspeed. I know it was one of your favorites in the past. Similar character or different? Stackable or redundant?
I know you’re not asking me but I tried that lightspeed 3x because Pete thought it was so great. I have a great few amps and nope it made them sound not good. Sold it each time. I really like this Ages pedal. Totally different beasts. Sorry Pete. I’m not going to lie about my circumstances. If it makes a Friedman smallbox limited sound bad, a Bogner Helios sound bad and an egnater tweaker 15 head etc. etc. sound bad it’s leaving. Lost a lot of money on that lightspeed. Maybe, Pete uses it different. I know he’s into cleaner sounds. He uses different amps than me as well.
Pete Honere Saw you reviewing something- - I CLICKED!! EXCELLENT TONE you had on the Boss Nextone review! Seriously!👍 You ever listen to Kenny Burrell ? You should! You got nice tone all the time, and a sense of humor. You remind me of me !
That's an excellent idea- it needs an expression jack and the option to assign the expression pedal to whichever parameter you want- including the 5-way routing switch. That way you could set it to change the mode or to just ramp up the gain or volume on whichever mode you're already in. Totally up to the user. Sounds like a kick ass mod huh? I'm going to pitch it to some friends who mod pedals- I let you know what we come up with. Thanks for the idea.
Are Durples exclusive to Anderton's or just sold the f out? I guess there's one way to find out huh- go look at Anderton's- be right back.... yep, exclusive to Andertons, and I'm not paying VAT and all that mess- sorry Pete. I'll have to wait until one shows up on eBay. You sold me on the Ages though- just grabbed one for 130 bucks used, looks brand new, in the box, papers, etc.. Can't wait for it to arrive. Everyone is selling them off to buy the new Eons fuzz- which is amazing but, out of my reach- they'll hit the secondhand market eventually and I'll grab one of those as well. I may end up with a full Walrus board eventually- Walrus kicks ass. They're right up my alley, seem to make the kind of stuff I really like. The Mako line is crazy- crazy expensive to.
Are you in the US? Check the video Andertons did on the VAT and import tax and so on. I think there arent any on pedals. ruclips.net/video/Iu_zvwZ--Hc/видео.html Plus the pound is really shit at the moment and shipping is not much and I have heard it only takes 3 days!! Walrus stuff ROCKS for sure... Hope you work it all out. P
He works at Anderton's, which means he has access to pretty much anything he wants to review I would imagine. Probably has to be careful about what he says though- so it doesn't damage the relationship the store has with that company. Makes sense- which is probably why he just reviews what he likes.
Why is this pedal so popular now? All these functionalities are on most Wamplers or MI Audio dirt pedals and Id say made in more usefull way. Not like Ages sounds bad or what, but its nothing new here. ps: great playing here ;)
Do you mean like the Hot Wired or the Pantheon? I hear you, Wampler has long offered overdrives with different voices. I'll bet, all things being equal, that people just get more excited about walrus audio because of the marketing they're doing. Also, the visuals on the pedals are more interesting. I've never looked at a Wampler pedal and thought, "wow, that's some great graphic design." It's still better than the absolute pit of the OCD pedal, but...Are these things superficial? Sure. But if the sounds are so close and if someone likes the way something else looks I'll bet they choose partly for that. For me the more important question is why the heck is there a three-trunked Mastodon on there?
@@federatedrev I totaly agree, that in these times you can choose from loads of good pedals, that are all great. I dont mind graphic design that much (otherwise, I will not be able to buy anything from Xotic 😁 ... comic sans, duh ...). Personaly I choose brands, where I can see good person behind them. Like Brian Wampler is doing loads of educational vids about pedals, or we have like super cool Jamie Stillman (earthquaker devices), or comic person like Josh Scott 😁. I think, Rob Chapman discovered the mysteri of 3 trunk+4 tusk mastodon 🤣🤣🤣

Your playing ist superb man, my Tele ist waiting for this pedal, which I've just ordered. Thank you for inspiring amateur musicians like me.
Sound's great Pete....................
Bought one yesterday... Awesome!
An Awesome Demo As Always Keep Bringin Those Videos. 👍👍🎶🎶🎸

Hi Pete, just catching up and delighted, you got that very special tele lol
Sounds ace! Also the studio is looking great there Pete!
Thanks Pete. Always love your playing.
I bought one from Andertons last Friday. It could easily be my only overdrive pedal!
Damn Pete, looking nice and crisp!
Thx Pete. Very informative to the uniformed- me! Cheers.
just ordered the LYR Ages, 78€!

It makes a big difference.
Sweeeeet it's a pallet of tones 💜
Thank you for playing open chords!! toooo many noodlers out there
Hey Pete always love your playing! Could you give me a list of your top 3 favorite overdrives? I’m sure lightspeed is somewhere on there
Damn Pete, I keep forgetting how good you really are. Getting some damn good tones out of that pedal 👍
The thing that surprised me was that the high gain settings remained very usable. Not being a high gain guy it looked like 3 of the settings would be no use. Turns out I was wrong.
Mr Pete why do you not have an album yet!
sounds wicked!
very versatile
Anytime the tele comes out, its a like fron me
Is that your favorite guitar? It sounds amazing! ...It could be just your out of this world playing. LOL!
I’ll take one order of mode 2 neck pickup a la carte, don’t need anything else thanks!

How do you like it?
@@allend3127 it’s pretty outstanding. Lots of options. Lower gain ones seem to be my favorite.
Hey man sweet demo. It’s just unfortunate that the lighting/reflection made it so confusing to see where the knobs were😅
I like how you squeeze the juice
Always squeeze it.
Definitely play with that dry knob more. It really makes a difference as the gain increases. Very happy with mine.
Always a fan of the Purple Tele, but man - that Les sounded phenomenal!
It is pretty special that thing!!
It does sound great for sure. I guess using an actual Walrus for the logo just didn't look cool enough ?

@@jklmopqtstuvwxyz5349 I didn’t like the lightspeed either. The Southland by Greer is good. The Samson is pretty good too. Southland is the best imo.

Is there a way to have access to all the modes while you’re playing live with out physically turning the mode knob? Sorta like a midi switcher?

Another overdrive? Take my money 😜
Hahaha. Thats what I say
Why does the Walrus have an Elephant on the box?
Seriously? It’s a mammoth elephant. I really hope you’re being sarcastic.
Can I fly you out to play my wedding(whenever I can convince the girlfriend to get married)?😂😂😂😂
Might even say you get some ... mammoth tones out of that thing.

The Walrus stuff has a distinct EQ and vibe, - maybe more Alt than Classic? I dig it.Been through many drives in the last decade.
