  • The Walrus Audio Ages Overdrive enters a market that's already overflowing with overdrive pedals. So it has to stand out in some way. How does it do it? What makes it special? After making the video, I heard that Robben Ford uses the Ages, although I'm not sure about that.

    I'm buying it for the elephant, nothing else, don't care about the tone... just the elephant, the angry one. Losing it today. Great review as always sir.

    The dry all the way to the left isn't really "off," it's setting is no dry signal, so you're actually getting all the drive when it is all the way to the left.

    Thanks for this. such an honest review - most reviews of this pedal are just a rehash of the marketing.

    I love drive pedals and I hope they keep making them forever. Always enjoy your vids, Elmo.
    It sounds really good but I preferred the tone from the YJM. You're absolutely right about the pedal reacting differently through a clean platform but sounds great through a dirtyish rig.
    Is the delay in the loop?

    • @MrPolevaulter
      @MrPolevaulter  3 года назад

      Thanks! Yeah. I always put delays and reverbs in the loop.

    Holy wow Elmo, that is my favorite video of you yet, based on the diverse stuff (some awesome straight up rock rifferage) and the warm thick tone you got. Oh....by the by, you keep mentioning you're using a delay in the loop, well what if you used a loop in the delay, or would that be redundant and repetitious? Ha, ha...sorry, I digress...that pedal to me sounds fantastic, but I feel the extra modes and dry control don't really add much if any difference in the sounds to justify the extra cost it took to include them, perhaps someday they'll make a stripped down version of this pedal, excellent playing as always, thanks Elmo, Bruce.

    Great sounding pedal, so many modes though argggg. It sounded good as I said but you really have to hear pedals you want in person , as you'd well know. It's something I will sought out though, I liked what I heard enough to make a decision which is one of the reasons that makes your vids so valuable , you let us know about products we might otherwise of missed. It's just that delay , I can't ear nuffin um ... Good cause ov it :)

    Elmo you need to try the Jackson Audio Broken Arrow or Golden Boy,
    They have 4 types of Overdrive , 4 Gain Stages and 4 Types of Boost in One Pedal.
    Theres no other pedal like them.

    Pedal definitely sounds like a Raging Bull Elephant versus the YM OD.
