Not sure if anyone noticed, in US, aw8 is bluetooth 5.3, but in Canada or UK's apple website, the spec shows bluetooth 5.0 for aw8 standard version, 5.3 for ultra only. Not sure why there is different spec for different country.
I just got the 7 series coming from the Apple Watch 3. I was going to get the 8 model but was told it was minor difference. With that said I’m really impressed with the series 7 45MM.
I was sold once you said the series 8 can last up to 5 years. I’m not that big on latest upgrades. Once I get it I don’t plan on upgrading again until 3 - 5 years, thanks.
I don’t really care for all the extra health features and AOD. So I grabbed the se2 and I’m fine with it. I got the newer chip and I’m able to wear it while dealing with sweat and rain so I’m good.

I'm watching this video in September 2024 and was planning on getting the SE 2 but saw I could get a refurbished Series 7 for about the same $200 price on Amazon ($250 for SE 2 on Apple website). Goes up about $75 for each other version until the newest Series 10 at $400. I ended up going to the Apple watch comparison page to better see the difference in stats: Series 7 has: slightly larger always-on display, ECG & Blood Oxygen apps, fast charging SE 2 has: not being refurbished, more colors as actively produced, crash detection, s8 vs s7 chip, ~18% lighter There are other minor differences but these are the main ones I saw. This is a hard choice. But in favor of getting a new and lighter item, and that I don't need ECG or always-on, I'll go for the SE 2. I lose the fast charging but I'll accept that for my first smartwatch. Saw I could save an extra $65 by buying a new 44mm one on eBay instead after all the taxes and stuff so doing that!! Looking forward to it.
Something to mention is that the se2 (in 44mm) is a lot lighetr than the 7/8 in 45, which is a nice thing for sports, but it also has a less resistant glass (at least in the specs)
I do have an Apple Watch SE the 1st generation back in early April 2022. I still liked it. It was an upgrade from using series 2 one for almost a couple years. I still have and even series 1. Those 2 that I bought A’s refurbished. I bought the SE one at Target in space grey. I got it in 40mm so that I can used the bands that I already have for it.
I‘ve just ordered the SE 2. It will be my first Apple Watch. What I was looking for is an affordable smartwatch that integrates well with other Apple devices, has some useful features for health/safety monitoring and looks good. @@videesn1417 So far so good. I don't use it very actively (meaning not like a fitness watch), more like a regular watch + checking my notifications and occasionally my heart rate. Also, I wear the watch everyday during my work in the warehouse and so far there's no scratch on the display, let alone a crack, so I'm quite satisfied. Thanks for this video. It’s interesting that when you were comparing the SE2 and AW8 you kept saying the 8 was a little more money. I've owned the Series 3,4,5 and 7 and have had zero issues with scratches and screen damage (despite my fair share of accidental knocks against all kinds of surfaces). By contrast, my wife (and multiple people I know) have had scratches galore on their aluminium watches. If you're keeping your watch for more than 1-2 years, I would highly recommend considering a stainless model (even if it is a year older).
Yeah how you know they have that
Thanks for pointing that out, I’m looking to get an Apple Watch Series 7 stainless steel (graphite) because looks amazing with a leather band and right now they’re on sale

Thanks for this video. It’s interesting that when you were comparing the SE2 and AW8 you kept saying the 8 was a little more money. Am I doing my math correctly, because to me it seems like you can get two SE2s for the price of the Apple Watch 8? Currently, I have an Apple Watch Series 1, so I’m finally upgrading and I’m going with an SE2. I’m assuming that is a pretty good upgrade, especially considering I spent $230 on sale for the Series 1 at the time. Thanks for the content, Max.
the only thing I care about is the volume, none of the other features interest me, why doesn’t anyone compare the volume of the speakers that’s the most important aspect of the watch for me, I currently have the series 4 and the volume sucks that I do know and I’m wondering is there an upgrade to get the volume like twice the series 4 or not?? if not, then can someone recommend a smart watch that has double the volume of the series 4, I may be done with apple watches if I can get the volume I want elsewhere, etc.
Very good review. I was so confused + price factor.
But now i think i will go with Apple Ultra😅
