Be sure that Car Play is enabled in your vehicle under settings. You have to swipe the icons to see it. Once I discovered this everything worked great.
Agreed, as I brought up both, just to see how they looked. Many state they prefer Waze, but until I am on a road-trip, I'll just leave it to Apple Maps I think.
Are you saying that the USB ports are not functioning? Do they not charge a phone when plugged in? Pull that USB module out and see if it's plugged in. Check fuses?
If you're always plugging in USB in and out of your car and it is charging each time, would that be hard on the battery? Phone batteries last much longer when charged below 20%
Not sure if you still have this issue but if you do. To play Pandora music with Bluetooth, make sure your phone is connected with Bluetooth, then Open Pandora and play your music then go to Audio > Bluetooth and it should start playing on the speakers.
Thank you. Unlike sync 2 I couldn’t find a way bookmark or my add favorites of my phone contacts to regular Ford sync. Not Apple play which i haven’t tried yet but it wasn’t there in sync 2. So in sync 3 Is there no way to do that? Also when I use the voice button the steering wheel and ask it to dial someone from my contacts it always says it doesn’t understand that command. Adjusting temp or tuning to radio or Sirius by voice works fine but I can’t tell it to dial anyone.

I'm on ios 11, there's no carplay show up when I plug in my iphone.
Is it because of the incompatible version between ios 11 and the sync 3?
Depends on if you're vehicle has the CarPlay USB HUB installed. Like mine, I have to upgrade it to get Carplay to work.
