Finally! A Ford Dealer Salesperson who can properly explain useful features and solve a few mysteries, like the overhead sensors. Thank you! It seams as though my local Ford dealership likes to keep these things a secret or they just don't know either. Do 2020 F150's get OTA updates? Did they change engine parameters? Suddenly, my MPG has increased by 1-2 mpg. Also, the lane keeping warning has changed? The steering wheel used to vibrate when I was close to the fog line, now it doesn't. I haven't changed the settings. My truck goes in for service next week. I'll ask them to look at it. Thanks again!
You forgot that the original key code can also be found on the passenger side under the plastic by where the passengers right foot would be. on a painted surface.
One more feature most do not know about. You can open your tailgate with the door keypad. Hit the last button again. So key code is 5 buttons and 6 is the gate. Ex: 12345 opens doors. 123455 opens gate and doors

We bought a used 2019 F150 Platinum. No extra key fob and no jack for emergency use. Ford charges $250 for the jack and we have to purchase another fob as we can’t use the keypad to open the doors. Good info! Thank you.

I've had my car for over 5 years and I never knew you can turn on the radio without having the key fob. I tried & it works. Ah jeez... I should have found your video a few days ago! We were away from the house and the FOB died on our push button start 2014 Explorer. Being a guy, I only looked in the manual as a last resort - taking a hit to my manhood in the process. Found the little rack in the console to set the key fob in so it would start. As usual, good video and thank you for your enthusiasm., will never see that in SoCal. One quick thing that I use all the time. On the external key pad, when you unlock the car from it, it only opens the drivers door. Hit the 3-4 button within 3 seconds and all the doors will open.
One thing about Drive Modes. An interesting feature is that when driving in 4 Automatic, after you get to highway speeds, the truck disengages the front wheels until you give it sufficient throttle to kick it back into 4WD. While in "snow wet mode" it never fully disengages the front wheels. It sends less power to them, but they stay engaged even at highway speeds.

Thanks I always wondered what those inside alarm sensors were. Another cool gadget is when you use your windshield sprayer the front camera washer pops out and sprays the cam lens also I have a Platinum and don’t use the door code ever. You can unlock by touching the inside of door handle and press the little black button to lock as long as your key fob is in your pocket.
I use my door code when I need to get something out of or put something in the car & I don't have my key, like at work or in the garage at home. You open the door and not have to go back and get the key.

That’s ok because I’ve bought 4 or 5 Fords from this dealership in Collin County and there will NOT be a 6th one from there. Both my wife and I drive Fords (2018 Edge Titanium and a 2019 F-150 XLT) and love them but the delivery leaves a whole lot to be desired.

My 2019 F150 Lariat 502A has ambient lighting, it's under the 'Vehicle' settings in the infotainment system. You can adjust brightness but cannot change the colors like you could with previous years.

#1 feature I left the lot NOT knowing about = The shift knob up/down selector lets you adjust how many gears the trans uses and turns on/off the gear display (you want this on to see what gear your in).

This was absolutely amazing. I just decided to keep my 2018 ford expedition instead of sell it, and this makes me excited about my “new” vehicle. Hey… the only cosmetic thing wrong with my vehicle is the trim bezel in the center console has peeling chrome… best fix? Also some brush/bush scratches on exterior of dark gray paint. Better tot go to ford or auto body to fix?
I totally understand sometimes when you have gone through alot with a vehicle its hard to let go. I would recommend looking at amazon for a replacement for your trim bezel they usually have great kits to replace cosmetic damage of the interior. And for your exterior paint, both are great options.
If I'm on a call as I approach the truck and I start the truck, it will forget the Bluetooth link and I have to relink the phone and truck or it won't work. PITA.

Just got home with my new 2019 Ford Edge Titanium model 301A......LOVE, LOVE, LOVE it. Did NOT know about the goodies in the glove box. Will play with your tips tomorrow. You know one thing Ford has fallen down on - that is auto mirror in/out. Granted I can do that on my (driver's) side, but not gonna walk around to do it on the passenger. Not that I'm that lazy, but with my luck, I'd get back to drive and realize it was still closed up. To me, personally, I will sure miss that - it was on our 2010 F150 King Ranch which I traded in. ~~~~~~~~~~~ Great video BTW and very helpful. Subscribed and looking forward to others.
@@Askjorgelopez nope, not in settings. They set it by default as they assume the driver is an idiot. On other vehicles with manual controls, I had to disconnect wires, but that isn't possible on electronic controls.
Maybe show people that super secret lever on the steering column that lets people know which direction you are.going. more important than any of that other crap.
Thanks for the well-made tips video Jorge. It was very informative and I learned several new things I wasn't aware of for my new 2019 Ford F-450 Limited. On the F-450 model, the key fob program slot is below the center console tray that is just to the right of the drivers right leg. I need to lift up one insert and a rubber pad to access it, but it's simple enough to find and use. I really liked the interior of your truck too. That color scheme just seems to make you feel at home when your inside the truck and it never gets old in my humble opinion. Just a suggestion, you may want to get some kind of lens shroud for the camera as there were a couple times where it was difficult to see what you were demonstrating. It was still visible, but not clearly. Looking forward to more videos like these.
I just upgraded to a Lariet and I love how it handles and as for dimming the display lighting, there are two buttons on right side of the knob to turn your head lights on to dim the brightness and vise versa. Thanks for the tips, especially the drive mode.
Don't forget the ladies! Driving Ford trucks since I was a little girl on the farm with my folks years ago, bought my first 78-79, another 1986, then new in '92 and sold that one in 2018 with only 127,00 actual miles. Now have a 2018 F-150 Lariat. Ford power!
GM has had that radio feature for well over a decade . I love how ford cheaps out on their best selling vehicle I have an 2018 F150 XLT Sport paid $60K can’t even get led headlights and tail lights but you can on a $30k Hyundai.
I wish someone would make a video of all the features of the touch screen on the F-150, I'm still accidentally finding out things it does. just learned it plays DVD video's, and didn't know I had a feature like jukebox.

Thank you Jorge. I live in SW Houston and have a 2016 F150 XLT that I bought used about 3 months ago. I did not get the factory door code and did not know about the "two key" trick to find it. I tried it with my two conventional (not push button start) keys and it worked! Then I tried using the 4 and 5 buttons to lock the truck--that worked. and then I used the factory door code to change my door code to something that is meaningful to me. Thank you so much for that. Finally, I don't have the full smart keys like you do, mine just have "LOCK, UNLOCK, and PANIC". And I don't have the full console like you do. But I lifted my center console that rests on the seat, looked into the lower center console and found the slot at the back of the compartment. Of course it's of no use to me but would be if someone had the full smart keys. Thank you again.

I just installed a catalytic converter alarm system on it over the weekend-- it costs $3k to replace them if some POS crawls under the truck and steals them. The cat alarm will set off the vehicle's factory alarm if someone tampers with the cats or even jacks up the truck.
There is slight ambient lighting on the 2018 king ranch f150. It's very faint, kind of a light blue color. It's there, but you can't chance the color or brightness. Also, I remember my 2013 lincoln mxz had factory adjustable ambient lighting. You could change the color and intensity. It also had massaging seats which was dope! Source: I drive a 2018 KR f150
I bought a new 2019 Ranger Lariat with all the bells and whistles, after driving (and loving) a 2005 Tundra for 10 years. Hated the Ranger and traded it for a Ruby Red 2018 F-150 Lariat, but it has Fewer features than the Ranger had! Lost money, but Happier with this truck! Thank you for the great info! Fuel gauge reading. My fuel pump was replaced and the fuel sensor changed. Now the fuel gauge stops going up at 3/4 tank. Do can’t get it to read full when the tank is full. 2010 F150 Lariat v8. When it says 16 miles to empty it takes 25 gallons to fill 26 gallon tank. How can I reset the fuel gauge.

I just purchased a 2018 f 150. I only have one FOB and it works fine. I do not know the original door code. I went to a Ford dealer and they said I need two sets of keys and they can reset my door code. Cost $500.00 is there a cheaper way to get the code so I can change it. Thanks

Howdy sir... sorry but can't help. I am not sure why your battery keeps draining. There has to be something active or one that is keeping the communication between the fob and the truck alive. The only thing i can recommend is taking it to your ford dealer for an evaluation.
Have you discussed like on a 2018 F150 if there is a way to stop the truck from shutting off if you leave it running. We have a dog that we want to cool if we run in a restaurant and found out the truck will run only about 20 minutes. Thank you. Love the videos.

Double click the unlock and then hold the button for 4 seconds and your windows will go down and to put them up do the same thing with the lock button

When you are on a Bluetooth call and shut the truck off the radio won’t timeout till you hang up. Learned that the other day.
Or it will turn off the radio when the truck is off and you open the door. The call will be transferred to the cell phone at that time
If I'm on a call as I approach the truck and I start the truck, it will forget the Bluetooth link and I have to relink the phone and truck or it won't work. PITA.

Just got home with my new 2019 Ford Edge Titanium model 301A......LOVE, LOVE, LOVE it. Did NOT know about the goodies in the glove box. Will play with your tips tomorrow. You know one thing Ford has fallen down on - that is auto mirror in/out. Granted I can do that on my (driver's) side, but not gonna walk around to do it on the passenger. Not that I'm that lazy, but with my luck, I'd get back to drive and realize it was still closed up. To me, personally, I will sure miss that - it was on our 2010 F150 King Ranch which I traded in. ~~~~~~~~~~~ Great video BTW and very helpful. Subscribed and looking forward to others.

Is there a way to turn off the automatic turning on of the a/c on defrost on a 2019 platinum?
It is probably your settings, there is an option that allows you to change your default setting under your "vehicle settings" I hope this helps.
@@Askjorgelopez nope, not in settings. They set it by default as they assume the driver is an idiot. On other vehicles with manual controls, I had to disconnect wires, but that isn't possible on electronic controls.

Thanks for the well-made tips video Jorge. It was very informative and I learned several new things I wasn't aware of for my new 2019 Ford F-450 Limited. On the F-450 model, the key fob program slot is below the center console tray that is just to the right of the drivers right leg. I need to lift up one insert and a rubber pad to access it, but it's simple enough to find and use. I really liked the interior of your truck too. That color scheme just seems to make you feel at home when your inside the truck and it never gets old in my humble opinion. Just a suggestion, you may want to get some kind of lens shroud for the camera as there were a couple times where it was difficult to see what you were demonstrating. It was still visible, but not clearly. Looking forward to more videos like these.

I just upgraded to a Lariet and I love how it handles and as for dimming the display lighting, there are two buttons on right side of the knob to turn your head lights on to dim the brightness and vise versa. Thanks for the tips, especially the drive mode.

I have a “17 F150 Lariat Supercab and I have Ambient lighting AND I can change it to 6 different colors on my screen and also adjust the brightness.
My 2015 Taurus AWD Limited has the ambient lighting too! I love it!
I do miss the ambient lighting. Now the only color available is an ice blue. Miss the red 😔

They actually do have ambient lighting. I found it in the settings! I love the touch of nice interior lighting at night time.

GM has had that radio feature for well over a decade . I love how ford cheaps out on their best selling vehicle I have an 2018 F150 XLT Sport paid $60K can’t even get led headlights and tail lights but you can on a $30k Hyundai.

You didnt really pay 60 K. For 150 xlt. Anybody can get on the ford web site and build one for far less. I paid 42k xlt 4x4

Thank you Jorge. I live in SW Houston and have a 2016 F150 XLT that I bought used about 3 months ago. I did not get the factory door code and did not know about the "two key" trick to find it. I tried it with my two conventional (not push button start) keys and it worked! Then I tried using the 4 and 5 buttons to lock the truck--that worked. and then I used the factory door code to change my door code to something that is meaningful to me. Thank you so much for that. Finally, I don't have the full smart keys like you do, mine just have "LOCK, UNLOCK, and PANIC". And I don't have the full console like you do. But I lifted my center console that rests on the seat, looked into the lower center console and found the slot at the back of the compartment. Of course it's of no use to me but would be if someone had the full smart keys. Thank you again.

I just installed a catalytic converter alarm system on it over the weekend-- it costs $3k to replace them if some POS crawls under the truck and steals them. The cat alarm will set off the vehicle's factory alarm if someone tampers with the cats or even jacks up the truck.
Those shutters are just to let the engine warm up faster in colder temperatures. Nothing to do with aerodynamics.

In my 2016 f150 I can change the ambient lighting colours.. weird they took that feature out.

There is slight ambient lighting on the 2018 king ranch f150. It's very faint, kind of a light blue color. It's there, but you can't chance the color or brightness. Also, I remember my 2013 lincoln mxz had factory adjustable ambient lighting. You could change the color and intensity. It also had massaging seats which was dope!

I bought a new 2019 Ranger Lariat with all the bells and whistles, after driving (and loving) a 2005 Tundra for 10 years. Hated the Ranger and traded it for a Ruby Red 2018 F-150 Lariat, but it has Fewer features than the Ranger had! Lost money, but Happier with this truck! Thank you for the great info! (Oh...Why did I get a 2018 instead of Newer? To Get a CD player! 😅)

Fuel gauge reading. My fuel pump was replaced and the fuel sensor changed. Now the fuel gauge stops going up at 3/4 tank. Do can’t get it to read full when the tank is full. 2010 F150 Lariat v8.
When it says 16 miles to empty it takes 25 gallons to fill 26 gallon tank. How can I reset the fuel gauge.

I just purchased a 2018 f 150. I only have one FOB and it works fine. I do not know the original door code. I went to a Ford dealer and they said I need two sets of keys and they can reset my door code. Cost $500.00 is there a cheaper way to get the code so I can change it. Thanks

Hi Jorge,,your videos are very helpful.....PLEASE KEEP THEM COMING....thanks alot...i have a problem with my 2015 F-150...my 2032 battery in both of my key fobs stop working..i bought two energizer batterys and installed them in each fob..i still cant lock or unlock or remote start my truck with the fobs.. i have to get inside and use my flip key to start it.....PLEASE HELP THANKS
Howdy sir... sorry but can't help. I am not sure why your battery keeps draining. There has to be something active or one that is keeping the communication between the fob and the truck alive. The only thing i can recommend is taking it to your ford dealer for an evaluation.

Have you discussed like on a 2018 F150 if there is a way to stop the truck from shutting off if you leave it running. We have a dog that we want to cool if we run in a restaurant and found out the truck will run only about 20 minutes. Thank you. Love the videos.
