Just think the 2020 has 475hp and 1050 lbft. As a ex firefighter, Truck Driver and Snowplow operator. Yellow color bulbs Headlights and or Fog lights does better in fog, or heavy snow than White LEDs. And and the bonus it doesn't produce the Glare the White, or Blue does. I have even found that sometimes my coworkers would be complaining about the fog that I didn't notice or just barely noticed on my way to work.
Instead of putting a tank in the bed you could upgrade the undertank to a 60 or 70Gal depending on the bed size of your truck. Take a look at this: www.sbtanks.com/2017-2020-67l-powerstroke
I have a f-250 Platinum diesel. I ordered it with all the bells and whistles and this truck is by far my absolute favorite of all the vehicles I've owned.
If you have a license plate scanner people can get your full name, address, and driver license number. Putting those information online for everyone to see not the safest thing.
Youssef Chokre you can literally take a tag, google a plate reader on google you can find out everything. Also if you arnt a cop, having a LP Scanner is highly illegal. Its such basic info you get from a plate..
@@youssefchokre8126 it's all public information anyway. What's confusing is people who cover their plates but show their face and name. Even going as far as talking about what town they live in showing landmarks or even inadvertently showing street signs where they live
Mostly for protection from pranks for online personalities. Like, people calling in your plate number for a hit and run or drinking and driving. I'm nobody so I don't worry about my plate being online but I can see it being annoying for famous people that have haters.
FYI, you're front facing camera also has a feature that allows you to wash it off from the cab. Turn the front facing camera on, hit your windshield washer fluid button and the washer will pop out and spray water across the camera lens. Pretty cool!
6:15 I think the best thing that ford has and no one else does is the ability to leave your fob inside the truck with the truck idling (dog in it AC or the heat running) and press both bottom buttons on keypad and walk alway. Truck runs locked, and when you come back and want in, you simply enter your code and you’re in! It’s the best for dog owners like me! He goes on all my deliveries and to work every day and I love that my 19 Powerstroke (and all years really) gives us that feature!
I'm strictly a meat and potatoes gal here on my ranch in Texas. We have quite few F series trucks ourselves. My personal favorite is my new F250 2020 with the big 7. Gas engine. Its very powerful in any pulling situation. Though I use my F450 or F350 for long hauls. But my F250 is a basic work truck. 2 wheel drive. Big power to weight. Lots of room. Its a supercab model. Which for me is roomy enough. I saw no need for a 4x4 or 4 doors or any of those electronic gizmos. None if my trucks are complicated. They're all very powerful and honestly, I'd never ever own or drive anything else. All I did was purchase a base model F250 Supercab with the big 7. I added my own ranch equipment. You know, headache rack, ranch guard bumper. Fifth wheel and skid plate for under brush. Thats it. I love my truck like no other. Every cowboy ask me about all that equipment. I tell them a lady can never ever have enough equipment! lol KB
The horn only beeps when the truck is running the the key is outside when you close the front doors only. Also with the door key pad you can open the tailgate when you hit the 5 after your 5 digit door code
David, is the last digit of your code "5'? I believe that all of the locks unlock when you hit the last digit of your code twice. For me, that is a '4'.
The fact you cant turn the horn beeping when you exit the running vehicle is ridiculous. It's one of the many non-customizable aspects of these trucks electronics wise that just doesnt make sense
@@nmhdt64 its to tell you there is no longer a key present in the vehicle. its quite handy if youre dropping someone off who may be the normal driver of the vehicle and they leave with the key in their pocket.
Great video!! I use Fords due to being able to lock everything in the truck and get back in with the keypad on the driver's door... 100's of uses with the keypad... a family member can get in the truck and leave you an item and lock it back, shopping-- others can come out early and not find you for a key.. same with being at the hotel.. or you walk out to check your mail and you can put the mail in your truck with out going inside to get the fob.... have the repair done and have the shop lock it up with your fob in it and you pick it up at 4am before they open... no need to come back when they're open...
Trucks now are a long way from my dad's 68 Chevy pickup with 3 on the tree when I was a kid...lol. They are total huge tanks now in comparison - soooo nice! Really like Ford's SUVs too...the dogs usually own the back though, and love the room... Thanks Courtney
1) You can disable the honk using the drivers settings in the gauge cluster, same area as other customizable options such as DRL and the like. 2)Split view camera is a front 180 degree camera, it's there to allow you to see better around corners that you would have a hard time seeing, like exiting a parking lot that has a wall or shrubs. 3) You can press the unlock button twice then hold it to roll down all the windows. Same in reverse, press lock then hold and it will roll it back up. 4) the Key Fob shaped hole is for multiple things, most notable to program a new key. It also has a second feature, if the truck has a hard time detecting the key, such as the battery is low, you can place it there to start the truck normally. 5) The BLIS sensors in the taillights are for an extension to the BLIS to enable trailer BLIS. To enable it you need to access the cluster and add a trailer, mainly by setting the width and length. 6) with the SYNC 3 system those USB plugs accessible from the drivers seat allows you to mobile mirror your phone through either Android Auto or Apple CarPlay. Plugging your phone in wi allow you to access easier versions of most apps like messaging, music and GPS. It will also use the GPS from your phone withGoogle maps, applemaps, or my favorite WAZE. There are tons of other features as well but I only have a 2019 ranger now but if you have anymore questions feel free to msg me. For those who use their trucks to carry truck campers, Ford has an auxiliary plug which can be run to a camera on the back of the camper. The same plug can be used to connect to a wired camera on the back of a trailer like a horse trailer or a fifth wheel. I saw this on another person's video and the Ford site. So much to learn about these machines.
"You can press the unlock button twice then hold it to roll down all the windows. Same in reverse, press lock then hold and it will roll it back up" ... is that for all F150/250?
I bought some morimoto led headlight assemblies for my 19 lariat and haven't been happier. Had them for almost a year with no problems. Cost is around 1700, plug and play with 1 wire to fuse box. Way cooler than OE LEDs
I drove a Chevy 3500 for 15 years, wonderful truck. When it finally decided to go to the boneyard,. I shopped around and found a F250 gas version traded it in for a F250 6.7 Lariat and later on I went looking for bigger truck and again shopped Ford, Dodge, and Chevy/ GMC and we decided on the F350 DRW Lariat. I have not had any issues driving the Fords for the past ten years and towing an RV with them. I will say that my daily driver is the GMC Canyon with the BabyMax in it which I love for a daily driver because I average 26 to 29 MPG in it. The wife drives a Jeep which she loves and probably will not drive anything but a Jeep. So it really doesn’t matter on the brand, you have to drive what you like and like what you drive or there is no purpose on spending the money on it.
Yep. This is what makes these full size trucks worth every penny. They’re one of the biggest tools you’ll own. Treat ‘em right & they’ll serve you a long time. Just remember to replace BOTH fuel filters every 20K miles. It’s an easy job that most folks can knock out in about 30 mins. Just be careful disconnecting the return line for the fuel filter on top of the engine - the connector is very fragile. After you break it (when not if), replace it with a $20 after market aluminum connector (lots of discussion about this on Ford forums).
Just so you know, the black button that is on the door handle is how you lock it from the outside or you can press the two last buttons on the door keypad (the number pad that you can lock/unlock the truck with). The truck won’t lock if you don’t have the key in your pocket and you try to use the black button but the two last buttons on the keypad will lock the key in the truck... Seminole wind is a great song.
One good feature I found out. If your truck is running and you step out, yes the horn will honk if the door is closed. But you can still lock the doors with the remote or the key fob. If the doors are not lock and someone jumps in to move or still the truck, the gear shifter will not come out of park without the key fob inside the truck.
The black plastic piece in the door handle is the lock, just like the unlock from your fingers on the inside of the door handle. pressing 7/8 9/0 at the same time also locks the vehicle and if the key fob is inside when you do that completely disables the vehicle until you enter your unlock code.
Man, first two minutes gotta pause and say, hey...subbed. Why? Simple. No fancy talk, no gimmicky opening lines, whatever. I didn't come for the tractors. I saw the 20 annoying.....etc. tag. I'm going for my first Ford truck, 250/350 and thought I might as well get a heads up. So, thank you for what I can tell is gonna be an informative video!
Thanks for the video! I will definitely be trying the window roll down! You can also light up your mirrors like you do your truck bed, also you can lock the doors by pressing the last 2 buttons simultaneously on the number keypad!
Great video! Have 2018 expedition now and about to pick up F350. Havnt looked thru all comments but in case nobody answers, hold lock button down 3 seconds and windows go up (at least on expedition). Also, you can run phone charge wire from front USB, easily slides along side of compartment - pull plastic side off, pops right back in, run up dash and pops out at right under height of vent - right where you mount you phone - works great, you only see maybe 4-6” of cable. Very clean and little compartment door closes all the way.
All the new features of modern trucks, reminds me of the 1963 Studebaker wagon that had a sliding top and a step that folded down to step up into the "bed" of the car. It could be used as a truck. Your comments just reminded me of that. Great video, thanks
Imagine. 🤔 Not knowing when to stop while driving, and having to rely on brake assist system. Maybe.... learn what the large pedal on the “left” does (middle if a manual). Or. My personal favorite. Paying attention when driving. Putting the dam phone down. Preferably under the spare tire in the trunk. 😤
I like some technology. Wait for the repair bill when it breaks. Power windows are nice. But when it cost $100 just for the motor no labor. Idk. Call me cheap. Give me my work truck with the classic rollup. (I’ve fixed it with a Gatorade cap, lost the knob.) My coworkers like to remind me by parking/walking up to me on passenger side. 😒
that annoying double horns saved me from walking into the house while the truck is on its "sleep" mode. You can close the door while touching the remote to the black panel where the door codes button are at to avoid those double horns
1. Exiting vehicle with fob in your pocket, touch the little black square on the outside of the door handle to lock. 2. You have a button on your overhead that will turn your dome light off/on upon entering/exiting. It’s sneaky cause you push it, the button illuminates, but it’s 3:00 in the afternoon and you can’t see what changed? You’ll notice it at night, personal preference?? 3. If you shut down your truck and pull the turn signal arm back, it will turn off all your exterior lights, w/ an interior beep. I have a 17 450 KR, love it, but I’m seriously thinking about trading up to a 20. 1. Auto folding mirrors 2. Driver modes 3. Deicing wipers 4. 10 speed 5. Trailer assist pro 6. 1050 ft lbs of torque ! ! !
To me the finest feature of any Ford or Lincoln and I say it's reason alone to buy a Ford product is the exterior keypad it's brilliant, in fact so brilliant every vehicle should have it
Once I purchased a 91 Mercury Cougar, absolutely loaded, the keyless entry pad is an absolute Must. Best when parking to access a nude beach. Just leave the keys in the car. I recall a friend met up with me, he buried his keys in the sand. Bloody hell finding his keys. LOL! Fob keys are nice, I'll stick with the door combination touchpad system.
@@dankerkstra6305 Nisson briefly had keyless entry pads on the Maxima. Both drivers side and front passenger door. I suspect Ford is the reason the pad was not continued with Nisson.
My 2014 Focus does the same beeping. It's annoying when you're trying to load and unload stuff to carry inside. Beep when I get out and shut the door, beep after I go grab something out of the passenger side.... The grab and unlock door handle is great. It took me a month to realize it didn't just lock with the door handle, but unlocked as well.
In reference to the touch door handles...you can lock the truck by pushing the black button on the outside of the handle. So you can lock/unlock the truck from the outside without ever having to pull the key out.
Excellent post! Not just that I have a 1025R, but I also have a 2019 F250 Platinum w/ the 6.7L. Best truck I ever had and love the options. Great video you posted as I thought I knew all the option uses but I learned something new from your video!
Forscan is free (other than the obd2 adapter) and easy. I use it on my 2012 F-150. There are many things you can do with it including turning off the honk when the key is in the truck.
I'm getto so can't afford the premium packages :) But, the window rolling down trick was really cool...went to try it and now going back to see if I can roll them Up!
Just found this video. I love my F350 Lariat. The horn honks because you have the fob in your pocket. And your radio preset stations are the same as mine :)
To Close the windows after your open them using the fob, you have to take the key out of the fob and put it into the driver door, Lock it, then go to the lock position again and hold until the windows go back up
I had a 2019 F250. rear end locked up at. 6,000 miles. truck never drove the same so I sold it and went back to duramax. But I do miss the F250 features! I'm hoping you have better luck! Take your extra key fob and place it under the center console rubber insert. Where the storage tray is close to cup holders) That will stop the annoying beeping. Then when you exit the truck just touch the back of your hand to the door handle and the doors will lock. Easy fix, took me a while to figure it out.
that little black spot on the exterior handle is for locking the doors, just touch it with one finger or thumb while the IA key fob is on your person. it will lock the doors. the beep when exiting with engine running is to tell you the key has left the vehicle. if you leave the key in the truck it wont do that when you get out.
There is a way to override that. We went to a Water Park, and wanted to leave the keys in the vehicle so they wouldn’t get wet or get swiped out of our bag. We had to check the owner’s manual and when we got back, used the key pad to get back in.
@@stevenmoomey2115 yep, but it wont honk if the engine is off. if you want to lock the keys inside you can, just throw them in the console and lock it pressing the number pad keys (7/8) and (9/0) simultaneously, then just use the number pad code to unlock it when you get back. The IA transponder is sensitive enough it knows whether the key is inside or outside so it will not unlock if someone comes up and grabs the handle.
Truck of my dreams.😊 Totally agree with you on the rear cross traffic alert system. I will never get another vehicle without that feature either. Can’t tell you how many times that has saved me especially when backing out of crowded parking lots.
it might have been said already but, i leave my spare key fob in my 2015 f150 at all times. it does two things, keeps the annoying horn from beeping when engine is running and i get out, and keeps the door bell silent when the engine is off and the door is open
Not a smart move to leave a key in the truck. If it's ever stolen, and your truck is recovered with a key in it, any damage claim will likely be denied. As a former insurance adjuster, I can tell you that any insurance claim involving theft of the vehicle will be denied if it becomes known that a key was intentionally left in the vehicle. Check your policy exclusions/limitations. You will find an exception of Claim that says something like this: Insured (you) shall safeguard keys and/or fobs to the vehicle at all times. Keys/fobs shall not be left inside the vehicle and shall be kept in a secure, or locked place to reduce the chance of Theft." Plain-speak is your insurance will deny the claim because you didn't protect the insured 'asset'.
if you press the button for the windshield sprayers, a nozzle comes out next to the front camera and it sprays off the front camera if there’s junk all over it
If you haven't found them yet , go to 4D Tech, they have flashes to delete the beeping and as well as the auto window function. The slot for the Key FOB is for re-programming or programming a FOB.
The little black button on the handle locks the truck just to let you know, also every brand screws you with the conversion to LED I don’t get it but apparently the factory harness can’t handle the output. Just bring the truck to a HID place or a custom headlight place and they can do it for a few hundred.
The BlIS sensor is mounted in the tail light, and its all the same system. I also didnt see you mention that you can lock the doors by touching the black square on the door handles
Really liked the video! I just bought a 2020 F250 Lariat with the blackout option and the Godzilla 7.3 liter gas engine (I don’t tow anything heavy). I’m still impressed with the automatic high beams, I guess I’m simple that way
Leave the key fob in it when you get out and the horn won’t honk when you shut the door. The little black square on the face of the door handle does lock it just by touching it.
then it gets annoyed about opening the other doors and the tailgate - if the engine is running.... if the fob is inside it seems to think that you might actually be driving it.
Get forscan, very easy to use and all kinds of things you can enable/disable. Including getting rid of the double honk when leaving the truck, bambi mode, remove seatbelt chimes, add DPF screen, and a ton of other stuff.
The place in the center console is for a key fob, if you forget the code to get into the truck you put both key fobs in there separately and then you can get the code to get into the truck
Love the LED's but man do they ever suck with wet snow/ice build up in the winter. Had a Fusion as a rental and that was my only complaint. They dont generate enough heat to keep headlights or tail lights clear.
LOL the double honk is the reason I downloaded forscan, & to disable that silly panic button I always bump. Then I found a bunch of other fun stuff you can do with it.
For your Lariat, check out the V4 LED’s from Headlight Revolution or the GTR Ultra Series 2. Both are ridiculously bright and clean. I have the V4’s in my 2019 F550 dump truck. Easy to install. make sure to aim the housing down with the adjustment screw. Had to adjust the F550 down around 2 inches while aimed at my garage wall from around 15 feet away so I wouldn’t blind oncoming drivers while towing.
My first thought on the beeping when you close the door is in case you live in a busy city step out and walk away from your truck, if a thief was watching you hr might think that truck is now locked and if he tried to get in the alarm may go off? That's my thought on it.
I've had a 2015 Ram 2500, have loved that truck... went and drove the new Superduty, let's just say my Cummins is getting traded in soon. Haha. The throttle response was unreal compared to my Cummins.. PS: Drove the Duramax and didnt like it nearly as much
Hey there, I also purchased a 2017 F250 Lariat last year and I love it. I don't know if anyone has commented this yet, but you showed how to unlock the truck by just grabbing the door handle. I noticed you didn't lock it by touching the door handle and thought I would tell you how. That little black button on the handle, when touched, actually locks the truck without having to use the key fob or locking it from inside the door. I hope this comment finds you and is helpful!
when they came out i thought the front end looked ugly but then they grew on me but the newer ones have a nicer looking grill and man these trucks are growing on me
I did not see this, sorry if a duplicate. The Key fob can also be sync to the seat memory buttons. Once you set all your positions & memorize it, then To sync your key fob with your memory seats, keep holding the appropriate memory button until you hear the chime twice. As soon as you hear the second chime, press the lock button on your key fob immediately. Now, every time you press the unlock button, your seat will automatically adjust to your preferred settings. This is especially helpful if you make use out of the easy entry and easy exit feature which moves the steering wheel and seat each time you get in and get out of your Ford. I have one setting & my wife has position 2.
Enjoyed the video. I'm buying new F250 tomorrow. I'm consideribg gettung the sulastic springs to soften the stiff ride. How do you feel about the stiffness of suspension of F250? Thanks. 👍🏽🙂.
Enjoyed the video, I may change over to an F350, have a 08 3500HD Duramax. Love my older truck, but the equal F350 hauls a lot more weight. We have a 5th wheel RV, but plan to go big-long-heavy toy hauler and even my '08 dually is far less tow capacity for some reason than the F350's. I assume it's mainly suspension related. My max GCVWR is about 26500, and I've seen the F350 up to 36K.......I want the new safety features as well if we are going to be hauling the 40' rig someday. Thanks for the video. (No brand loyalist here either) Comfort and performance.....safety etc
Depending on pin weight (some triple axle toy haulers typically have a too heavy pin weight for the 350 DRW) so you might have to go up to a F-450 DRW, my 2016 F-350 DRW was setup for 30K+ and it drank diesel like my wife drinks coffee, 10.1 MPG @65mph was the best I could get when towing my 30' 5th wheel. That's why I traded it in on a special order 22 F-350 SRW with 3.31 gears, I'm not to fond of the push to start setup, after a month of driving it I'm still trying to pull the key out of the non existent ignition switch.
Does the camera 'aux' feature display a trailer camera? If so, that and the mirrors would be worth trading our F 150 in on an F350. I've kept vehicles 22 years--you get a new one every other year?
I have the F-150 Platinum, so I have most of the same features, except the towing mirrors which I wish mine had. I also love the same features you do. I do disagree about the placement of the front dash power outlets. I think they are exactly where they should be. And if you haven't done so already, that three pronged power outlet is actually 110V AC, not 12V DC. In fact, I was running around yesterday with my laptop sitting in the passenger seat and I had the AC adapter plugged in and charging the battery from that outlet. Works like a champ. Just don't try to do any heavy duty power draws, like a hair dryer or other devices that can draw large amount of power.
@@MichaelBrown-kk6ck I'm not an electrician, so I'm not sure what that is. I'm just guessing the truck has a built in inverter for that function. Couldn't tell you more than that.
So if your key fob does, you can still get in with the regular key. But 2 things I ask : Does the factory alarm still go off since it doesn't 'see' the communication from the dead fob? And also with that fact, will you still be able to push button start and drive it with a dead fob?
Yes. If the fob is 'dead' and the door does not auto unlock, use the hard key (or keypad) to get in. Then, put the fob in the fob 'slot' under the cupholder and the truck sends a small radio signal through the slot, enough to 'read' the key even with a dead fob battery. Since it has read the key, the alarm isn't activated, and the truck starts normally. It works similarly to how microchip credit cards are read without having any power themselves. The slot is for when the key doesn't emit a signal.
The windows going back up with the fob I have been told from other brands, that it’s disabled in the US. It’s a safety feature, but in other countries it’s enabled to hold the lock button, and the windows and sunroof will all close.
My car in '99 would go up. 2006 it won't.. They also changed button style so you have to pull up on the switch, do something like a dog can't accidentally step on it, and get their head stuck.
Forscan will fix the horn on door close, this is due to it being "illegal" to have a vehicle running w/o being inside it (gas station, etc) from what i've read. Forscan will also enable the keyfob to roll up windows from what I've seen, however my device doesn't see that section in forscan i need to get another... other cool forscan features: - Enable GPS if you already have the 8" screen all you need to purchase is the SD Card (ebay $40) .. (we've done this) - Enable 'bambi mode' ... fog lights stay on while high beams are on (we've done this) - Folding mirrors when truck is powered off (we've done this) Just be careful w/ forscan and make a backup before editing anything super simple app hats off to the dev team
Thanks for your perspective. I own a 2017 F-350, Diesel, SRW, XLT trim. Here's my input: 1) Probably due to NOT having retracting running boards and/or a proximity sensing key fob to unlock doors, my F350 NEVER HONKS upon closing a door or pressing 'lock' on the key fob. 2) I thought about getting BLISS until I heard the cost to replace a BLISS taillight - supposedly close to $900 3) I heard that the shaped slot for a key fob in the storage area is used when programming a new key 4) I have incandescent lights. They're HORRIBLE, even for incandescents. They're comparable to my '69 Chevy pickup. They are no match to the incandescents on a standard ~2016 Chevy pickup. The light projects poorly and disperses too much. Furthermore even when running low beam, both the upper and lower pair of lights are on. Oncoming traffic sees this and often flash their high beams, thinking that my high beams are on. Given my effort to respect others on the road, it is VERY annoying to be perceived otherwise just because Ford could not get the lighting right with two headlights (and still failed with four) .
@@menosabe $500 each versus $300 for a pair - Quite a difference. But, I've had bad experiences with aftermarket items and especially question the quality/reliability of a sophisticated proximity sensor that must interface with the vehicle's computer.
As of 2020, (my model year) the blis module is removeable from the tail lamp assembly. New LED tail lamps are between $175-250 without the blis module.
@@kellymc239 That is a relief to know a cracked tail light does not entirely 'break the bank'. Thanks for the info. Still, it boggles my mind to pay a couple hundred dollars for what is mostly (or even entirely) an injection molded piece of plastic weighing less than a pound
You should think about trading in your F3 50 for the F4 50, you will lose the panoramic sunroof but you'll only pay an extra thousand dollars and you have a much better vehicle and it's great for towing , because it it's tight turning radius you can back up trailers much easier,
Really liked this video I'm aFord guy have a F250 SD traded my F350 in for it. Thanks for the fob power window down had no idea! But like yourself how the heck do get them back up?
Do you not use the apple CarPlay or android auto feature? Your phone navigation will reflect on the screen in the truck as well as voice texts, calls, and music if you have any on your phone.
You mentioned that you prefer to use your phone for navigation and didn't like the charging cord going across the center console. Do you know that Sync 3 has "Car Play" capability for Apple and Android phones? This will also allow you to remove the mount from the vent so it doesn't block the airflow.
Car thieves know this. Why do you think insurance companies require BOTH sets of fobs to be turned in when writing the Total Loss claim check? If the owner admits the 2nd fob was in the truck, guess who's not getting a check from their insurance???
Someone has probably already pointed it out but the little black button beside the key lock will lock the vehicle if it is pressed while you have the key, at least my Focus does that. Love the video!
I used to have a 2014 F150 XLT and just bought a 2020 F250 Lariat. One feature or trick that you didn't mention is the ability to lock the truck from the keypad on the outside of the truck. If you push the bottom two buttons at the same time it will lock the truck. This worked on the F150 and works on my new F250.
Get the Forscan. It is an app on your phone which with the addition of a bluetooth OBD-II dongle means you can easily address a lot of your complaints. As well as enhance a couple things such as automatically folding those mirrors.
Get carista,it plugs into your obd .you can reprogram a bunch of stuff.i have a Toyota,I reprogrammed the seatbelts to stop the noise if I don’t wear the seatbelt.i programmed the remote to open all windows and sunroof at same time, then have drivers side door with key will close all the same.when you just tap the turn signal, you can program from zero to 7 lights flashed .i programmed all beeps to be quiet, but to keep the lights flash when locking.
I'm a new subscriber that just landed on your site. I really enjoyed your comprehensive review of your F250/350. I have a 16 Lariat and now might trade up to the 2020 because of the neat features you pointed out. Keep up the good work!

After at least 3 seconds but within 10 seconds of switching the ignition off and removing the previously programmed coded key, insert the new unprogrammed key into the ignition. 8. Switch the ignition from off to on. Keep the ignition on for at least six seconds. 9. Remove the newly programmed coded key from the ignition. If you have successfully programmed the new integrated keyhead transmitter, it will start your vehicle and operate the remote entry system. If programming was unsuccessful, wait 10 seconds and repeat steps 1 through 9. If you are still unsuccessful, take your vehicle to your authorized dealer. Programming a Spare Intelligent Access Key Note: Do not place the device on the wireless accessory charging area when programming intelligent access keys. Note: You can program a maximum of six keys to your vehicle. All six must be intelligent access keys. This procedure programs both the vehicle immobilizer keycode and the remote control to your vehicle. You must have two previously programmed intelligent access keys inside your vehicle and the new unprogrammed intelligent access key readily accessible. Contact an authorized dealer to have the spare key programmed if two previously programmed keys are not available. Make sure that the ignition is switched off before beginning this procedure. Make sure that you close all the doors before beginning and that they remain closed throughout the procedure. Carry out all steps within 30 seconds of starting the sequence. Stop and wait for at least one minute before starting again if you carry out any steps out of sequence. Read and understand the entire procedure before you begin.
Courtney- I already went down the road you are talking about, for approximately 32 years i have owned Fords F250 or 350's, I jumped ship after dealing with my Ford dealer on my ordered as specified / new F350 that got delayed twice on delivery by 2 months total, needless to say i didn't buy that truck, as i sold my 2013 F350 Lariat privately a week before i was told the new one was to arrive originally. So i was truck-less.... i came across the new shiny GMC Denali 3500 SRW with the 6.6L Duramax, drove it three times the dealer even let me take it for 2 days, she is a great truck, love the motor & transmission it tows better than the Ford in my opinion, but i am going back to a Ford and here is why. I am 6-3" 225# and it seems like the GMC has closed in on me over the past couple of years "the cab just feels smaller", as i jumped in a new F350 at work a few months ago i realize the Fords have a ton more room for me. They both cost a great deal of money they both have the tech i need and like but in the end the Ford has me simply for the room in the cab. Keep posting the videos they are great and the HLA snowpusher is working great you sold me, since i bought it it has not snowed!

That spot under your hunting tags is for starting your truck with a battery dead key fob.
Yeah, I've read the other spot under that cup holder is for the dead key fob start. Conflicting info out there.
You don't have to disagree with everything Don! 🤣👍
@ 90k?
I totally agree with you on wondering why people cover their license plate. Great video!
@@AmericanMan961 you can probably own a scanner if you're not a cop but no one's going to sell you the software subscription to make it work.
I tell them a lady can never ever have enough equipment! lol

Mike Wrobel thought I read it was the middle button. 5/6. Must have read it wrong. Need to look that up again. Thanks for the reply
The fact you cant turn the horn beeping when you exit the running vehicle is ridiculous. It's one of the many non-customizable aspects of these trucks electronics wise that just doesnt make sense
it does that to let you know that you left the key in the vehicle
I’d LOVD to see a video on how to use Forscan to disable the ridiculous chimes, honks, beeps, etc
Source: Sold dozens of Super duties when I sold trucks at a Ford Dealer.
DBMaktab What options can you customize in the gauge cluster? I don’t see anything in terms of DRL for example. Thanks!
I sure cant find that.. can you be more specific? I have a 2021 Lariet.
@@nellyfive I can not get that function to work. the front 2 windows go down but that's it. Nothing I do will get them to go up
I liked your video so much I just now actually bought a platinum solely on this video. ( well I’ve been researching a little on my own too😉).
I bought some morimoto led headlight assemblies for my 19 lariat and haven't been happier. Had them for almost a year with no problems. Cost is around 1700, plug and play with 1 wire to fuse box. Way cooler than OE LEDs
I installed these as well. Very happy
An additional camera view I love is when you put the truck in reverse, you’ll get another view option of a split rear view from the two side mirrors.
Yes, I forgot about that one!
Just wait till you try out that 10 speed with the 475hp and 1050tq! Best damn truck I’ve ever owned that’s for sure!
Seminole wind is a great song.
i really appreciate real honesty on real things and no bias as things that really make sense and some that dont
One good feature I found out. If your truck is running and you step out, yes the horn will honk if the door is closed. But you can still lock the doors with the remote or the key fob. If the doors are not lock and someone jumps in to move or still the truck, the gear shifter will not come out of park without the key fob inside the truck.
The keyfob hole is for the possible situation the battery goes dead in the fob. When in the hole with a dead battery the truck will still start.
The black plastic piece in the door handle is the lock, just like the unlock from your fingers on the inside of the door handle. pressing 7/8 9/0 at the same time also locks the vehicle and if the key fob is inside when you do that completely disables the vehicle until you enter your unlock code.
Thanks, Courtney! I’m considering a pickup truck for my next vehicle and your comments are going to be very helpful!
Welcome Larry, hope it helps!
"Seminole Wind." Killer song. Awesome Super Duties, too!
Thank you sir!

Thanks for watching!
I didn't know I could row the window down with the FOB. My wife Got Me a Platinum brand new for Christmas. still playing with the buttons. :)
Sounds like Wife goals lol
All the new features of modern trucks, reminds me of the 1963 Studebaker wagon that had a sliding top and a step that folded down to step up into the "bed" of the car. It could be used as a truck. Your comments just reminded me of that. Great video, thanks
Watching this video makes me appreciate the simplicity of my old truck.
😂Much safer today than days gone by, but I completely get what you're saying!
I agree with you JP. Don't need all that crap on a truck. If people would watch where they were going they wouldn't need all that extra safety stuff
Imagine. 🤔
Not knowing when to stop while driving, and having to rely on brake assist system.
Maybe.... learn what the large pedal on the “left” does (middle if a manual).
Or. My personal favorite. Paying attention when driving. Putting the dam phone down. Preferably under the spare tire in the trunk. 😤
@@timnelson1787 lol. I always buy the truck that is stripped down but it's getting harder and harder to find one. I wish a truck was still a truck
I like some technology. Wait for the repair bill when it breaks.
Power windows are nice. But when it cost $100 just for the motor no labor. Idk. Call me cheap. Give me my work truck with the classic rollup. (I’ve fixed it with a Gatorade cap, lost the knob.)
My coworkers like to remind me by parking/walking up to me on passenger side. 😒
Love calling them about the license plate thing!! Finally someone on the same page as me!!! 👍👊
Haha!
that annoying double horns saved me from walking into the house while the truck is on its "sleep" mode.
1. Auto folding mirrors
2. Driver modes
3. Deicing wipers
4. 10 speed
5. Trailer assist pro
6. 1050 ft lbs of torque ! ! !
To me the finest feature of any Ford or Lincoln and I say it's reason alone to buy a Ford product is the exterior keypad it's brilliant, in fact so brilliant every vehicle should have it
Yes, I love it too.
Ford has to have a rock solid patent on that feature, otherwise ever other manufacture would have that.
Haha, happy to hear it!
Both are stunning trucks! Always amazes me how far they've progressed since back in my day, LoL.
They are beauties. I may be selling the grey one, hint hint!
Just found this video. I love my F350 Lariat. The horn honks because you have the fob in your pocket. And your radio preset stations are the same as mine :)
To Close the windows after your open them using the fob, you have to take the key out of the fob and put it into the driver door, Lock it, then go to the lock position again and hold until the windows go back up
Mine will close just holding the lock for 5+ sec, don't have to take the key out, only works on front windows.
Screw that lol
My Fusion has the same key. You have to lock it and then hold the lock button the same way. Don’t know if it works on the truck or not.
Keys/fobs shall not be left inside the vehicle and shall be kept in a secure, or locked place to reduce the chance of Theft." Plain-speak is your insurance will deny the claim because you didn't protect the insured 'asset'.
you can turn the honk off with forscan, also turn on secure idle , also make running lights stay on with high beams.
The key fob shaped depression in the center arm rest is where you put a new key fob while programming it to work with your vehicle.
It is also the place for a dead fob. The receiver is just under that spot so you can start your truck.
if you press the button for the windshield sprayers, a nozzle comes out next to the front camera and it sprays off the front camera if there’s junk all over it
So helpful!
Looking at one to carry a truckcamper
Great job!
I’m still impressed with the automatic high beams, I guess I’m simple that way
Sweet!!!
does your blk pkg. have LEDs?
An excellent job at reviewing ... your a very nice guy and nice to listen too. Thanks!
Leave the key fob in it when you get out and the horn won’t honk when you shut the door. The little black square on the face of the door handle does lock it just by touching it.
Jay 0711, I was going to mention that also! You don’t have to lock it using the inside door lock switch or the lock post.
then it gets annoyed about opening the other doors and the tailgate - if the engine is running.... if the fob is inside it seems to think that you might actually be driving it.
Get forscan, very easy to use and all kinds of things you can enable/disable. Including getting rid of the double honk when leaving the truck, bambi mode, remove seatbelt chimes, add DPF screen, and a ton of other stuff.
You should take a week and read you're manual. No! Just busting on ya! Nice tour around your truck. I think I could live in either one of those.
I'm savin' it for kindling! Ha! Thanks for watching Jeff!
12:34 is for when your fob dies you can use it to start the truck. it turns into a RFID reader for close prox.
Agreed, I've experienced that once so far.
LOL the double honk is the reason I downloaded forscan, & to disable that silly panic button I always bump. Then I found a bunch of other fun stuff you can do with it.
Thanks for the trifold cover info, have a 900.00 hard roll up cover and hate it.
Happy to help, thanks!
Ridiculously bright = blinding everyone
My first thought on the beeping when you close the door is in case you live in a busy city step out and walk away from your truck, if a thief was watching you hr might think that truck is now locked and if he tried to get in the alarm may go off? That's my thought on it.
I've had a 2015 Ram 2500, have loved that truck... went and drove the new Superduty, let's just say my Cummins is getting traded in soon. Haha. The throttle response was unreal compared to my Cummins..
PS: Drove the Duramax and didnt like it nearly as much
Lag is Free my F450 will get up and move better than many cars.

I hope this comment finds you and is helpful!
when they came out i thought the front end looked ugly but then they grew on me but the newer ones have a nicer looking grill and man these trucks are growing on me
Good video. Had F150 Platinum, went to new F250 6.2L XLT. Could not justify the cost difference XLT to Platinum just for towing. Safe travels!
Thanks. 👍🏽🙂.
It's a stiff ride!
Yes, that's my understanding although I haven't used that feature. I have a business which is different than buying one for personal use.
Yes, aux is for a trailer camera
Is that 110 outlet true sine wave so it won’t be hard on your electronic devices?
@@MichaelBrown-kk6ck I'm not an electrician, so I'm not sure what that is. I'm just guessing the truck has a built in inverter for that function. Couldn't tell you more than that.
@@mcgilm69 The inverter is under the rear passenger seat.
The two factory installed power invertors are rated at 400 amps each.
As of 2019, yes, the inverter has square-wave output so electronics have a stable power supply
So if your key fob does, you can still get in with the regular key.
But 2 things I ask :
Does the factory alarm still go off since it doesn't 'see' the communication from the dead fob?
Forscan will also enable the keyfob to roll up windows from what I've seen, however my device doesn't see that section in forscan i need to get another... other cool forscan features:
- Enable GPS if you already have the 8" screen all you need to purchase is the SD Card (ebay $40) .. (we've done this)
- Enable 'bambi mode' ... fog lights stay on while high beams are on (we've done this)
- Folding mirrors when truck is powered off (we've done this)
Just be careful w/ forscan and make a backup before editing anything super simple app hats off to the dev team
To turn off the honk you have to modify the configuration in the computer.
Where do you put the bag of chips or Costco sized container of cashews to snack on while driving?
In my lap of course
The key fob spot under the cup holder is for if you lose the key that’s how they reprogram a new one

Thanks for your perspective. I own a 2017 F-350, Diesel, SRW, XLT trim. Here's my input:
1) Probably due to NOT having retracting running boards and/or a proximity sensing key fob to unlock doors, my F350 NEVER HONKS upon closing a door or pressing 'lock' on the key fob.
2) I thought about getting BLISS until I heard the cost to replace a BLISS taillight - supposedly close to $900
3) I heard that the shaped slot for a key fob in the storage area is used when programming a new key
4) I have incandescent lights.
Bliss taillights are $500. You can always go aftermarket for $300 and get a set
Check in your radio settings to turn off horn while locking, most manufacturers have it in there
Did you think about the F4 50 because it has a different axle on the front end which allows it to have a much tighter turning radius,,,,,,,,,,,,,
Thought about it
You should think about trading in your F3 50 for the F4 50, you will lose the panoramic sunroof but you'll only pay an extra thousand dollars and you have a much better vehicle and it's great for towing , because it it's tight turning radius you can back up trailers much easier,
Really liked this video I'm aFord guy have a F250 SD traded my F350 in for it. Thanks for the fob power window down had no idea! But like yourself how the heck do get them back up?
Haha, I don't know. However, I had someone send me a lot of good info for FORScan and it seems like you can make it happen through that software.
Good Works Tractors Any chance you would forward that forescan info to me? Thanks, great video.
Do you not use the apple CarPlay or android auto feature? Your phone navigation will reflect on the screen in the truck as well as voice texts, calls, and music if you have any on your phone.
You forgot the best thing ever "Puddle Lights" the Leds in the bottom of your mirrors. The switches are in the driver side air vent.
Robert , does an F150 do anything “special”? Mustangs put the horse logo on the ground-very cool!
You mentioned that you prefer to use your phone for navigation and didn't like the charging cord going across the center console. Do you know that Sync 3 has "Car Play" capability for Apple and Android phones? This will also allow you to remove the mount from the vent so it doesn't block the airflow.
If you put your spare key fob in the fob shape storage area in the center console the double honk upon the door close goes away.
Having a fob in your vehicle makes it easy for a thief to start and. drive away with your vehicle.
Car thieves know this. Why do you think insurance companies require BOTH sets of fobs to be turned in when writing the Total Loss claim check? If the owner admits the 2nd fob was in the truck, guess who's not getting a check from their insurance???
I have some of the bells but not the whistles you have, Thanks for the tips I did find.
The double honk is remind you that the truck is still on. You can disable it with Forscan.
Someone has probably already pointed it out but the little black button beside the key lock will lock the vehicle if it is pressed while you have the key, at least my Focus does that. Love the video!
There’s a cool feature with the front camera. Theres a little wiper that will pop out and clean the camera
also if your fob battery goes dead you can place it there to run.
How to do keep your cream seats clean in your limited? I just bought a 2019 limited f250.
Auto folding mirrors?? I think I am getting ForScan this weekend. It's dumb that iI have to do that manually when all the tech is there.
I’ve aways wondered why people cover the plates as well. It’s strange to me.
Theres a lot more information than you think that is public just by googling a plate.
My 17 f350 is levelized and running 35 18s love them how hard is it to order the man step tailgate.
I hate the freaking honk. Also you can lock the doors with the black button.
I was about to say the same 2 things👍
Get carista,it plugs into your obd .you can reprogram a bunch of stuff.i have a Toyota,I reprogrammed the seatbelts to stop the noise if I don’t wear the seatbelt.i programmed the remote to open all windows and sunroof at same time, then have drivers side door with key will close all the same.when you just tap the turn signal, you can program from zero to 7 lights flashed .i programmed all beeps to be quiet, but to keep the lights flash when locking.
Annoying key chime is still worse!!
You can disable with FORScan really easily. Just did it on my 2020, but can be done on 2017+ as well.
I'm a new subscriber that just landed on your site. I really enjoyed your comprehensive review of your F250/350. I have a 16 Lariat and now might trade up to the 2020 because of the neat features you pointed out. Keep up the good work!
that hidden spot that looks like a spot to put a key in is for programming keys but you need a ford scanner to do that.
Mark Gamez I programmed my new 3rd remote myself, Using the hidden key spot. It is not for hiding your remote. 2019 f450.
Michael Lowery how did you program it yourself? Have any links?
Zach Kelley, Right out of the owners manual. Programming a Spare Integrated Keyhead Transmitter
Note: You can program a maximum of four keys to your vehicle. All six can be integrated keyhead transmitters.
You can program your own integrated keyhead transmitter or standard SecuriLock coded keys to your vehicle. This procedure programs both the vehicle immobilizer keycode and the remote control to your vehicle.
Only use integrated keyhead transmitters or standard SecuriLock keys.
You must have two previously programmed coded keys and the new unprogrammed key readily accessible. Contact an authorized dealer to have the spare key programmed if two previously programmed keys are not available.
Read and understand the entire procedure before you begin.
1. Insert the first previously programmed coded key into the ignition. 2. Switch the ignition from off to on. Keep the ignition on for at least 3 seconds, but no more than 10 seconds.
3. Switch the ignition off and remove the first coded key from the ignition.
4. After at least 3 seconds but within 10 seconds of switching the ignition off, insert the second previously coded key into the ignition.
5. Switch the ignition from off to on. Keep the ignition on for at least 3 seconds, but no more than 10 seconds.
6. Switch the ignition off and remove the second previously programmed coded key from the ignition.
Programming a Spare Intelligent Access Key
Note: Do not place the device on the wireless accessory charging area when programming intelligent access keys.
Michael Lowery I never said it was to hide your keys I just say it’s a spot to program your keys
Mark Gamez, Sorry Mark, my comment was a general comment and I did not intend to imply you said anything of the kind. Have a great day.
Forscan can shut off that stupid honk when you get out as well. You can also enable windows rolling up by pressing and holding lock.
Frank Blanchard I thought I was the only one that felt the ford cabs had more room. The gm cabs just feel cramped
