    • @BradChadley
      @BradChadley 5 лет назад +15

      @Mike Sienicki Boomers, the spoiled generation following WWII, paved the way to our nation becoming lazier and fixated on money and entertainment. That generation started a trend of entitlement that has followed each subsequent generation. It's not entirely their fault, their parents didnt want them to endure hardships like the Great Depression and WWII, so they didn't experience the hardships that make people strong.
      But to simply call millennials lazy and blame them for everything is foolish. Sure, some are mush brained meatbags, but that's a minority of the generation. The Boomers were called that by their parents and grandparents, as men grew their hair to long lengths, women dressed started to dress how they wanted and express sexuality, kids were experimenting with all sorts of drugs, and were starting to discount the idea of God. It's just blatantly ignorant to blame the downfall of America on a single generation when older generations still typically hold the power and wealth, that historically, every generation has had its problems, but the notions of hard work have been passed down through many families.
      Youre projecting blame onto groups of people that are only part of the problem. You yourself are mush brained if you truly believe that immigrants (I have several immigrant friends and they work harder and are more honest than most of my American ones) and millennials have ruined this country. Foolish

They haven't made a normal truck since 2010.
      And also they started manufacturing 4ft beds more than they used too for that reason, hardly anyone getting a truck now actually uses it for work, the next 1 I have to buy I cant even get a manual and I'm paying for a bunch of wuss features a truck should never have. The more dense cool air that turbo can squish and shove into that engine the more power it make-ith. Would like to have seen the drag race loaded too, but still probably more interested in MPG and RELIABILITY and dealership or company care when rapairs are necessary. Any advice, I'm lookin to buy in the next 2 months and can't decide? Probably 2-4 years old. Not loyal to any brand but, kinda leanin towards the Chev/ GMC overall. Still enjoyed the vid.

    Like the video. When your hauling heavy like that and it's bucking move the weight a little more over the axles of the truck it will help with the bucking. As long as it's not too far forward. Also the way you had the load chained down is illegal. You can use one chain but it can't be pulling against itself. It has to have enough slack between mounting points and not pulling against itself to be considered "two separate chains". Other than that its was a good video. You have to measure the center of the trailer tandems to your hitch in the bed of your truck to find where to center the load. All the weight was directly on the trailer axles instead of being spread among all the axles.

    Single digit MPG might sound low but think about this: 30,000 lb trailer + 9,000 lb truck = 39,000 lbs. A new Prius is about 3,100 lbs and gets 53 MPG on the highway. The weight of the truck and trailer is about 12.5 Prii. 12.5 Prii combined would get about 4.25 MPG (53 Miles per 12.5 Gallons or 53/12.5). This shows just how efficient these trucks are at moving that much weight. Of course this doesn't take into account aerodynamic differences, rolling resistance, etc but it does help put things into perspective.

      Mercedes doesn't make a dually. They do make a 6x6. I would have that over any Ford truck. But it's still not the same class of truck though. As for working on my car, yes I do. I don't trust anyone working on any of my cars/trucks. I use to have an Ford Lightning. I did all the work to it. The only thing it went to the stealership for was the recall on the brake master cylinder. I tried to talk them into giving me the inline fuse & I would install it myself but they wouldn't. I also have a Explorer Limited & a Fiero GT with a motor swap that I do all the work & maintenance on. My CL55 AMG is a very reliable car. No major issues with it. Ford does make some new stuff that isn't bad. If I had to buy a dually for some crazy reason I would buy a Ford. But all Chevy's cars & trucks since the late 90's to early 2000's have all been just crap. It started right before they became government motors. Always quality & design issues with them. They never admit they got it wrong too. They try to hide their mistakes like the ignition switches when they got the manufacturer to make a new improved switch but use the same part number as the old defective one so they wouldn't be blamed for the deaths of all those people. That's just dirty! All of the Government Motor products suck. Also personally I do not think any new car or truck are worth the money. They are waaaayyyy over priced.

    Andre When you talk about HP and torque like they are different or not linked directly to one another remember this. HP is derived from torque, the only thing HP means is how fast the work is getting done and Torque is how much work is getting done. You can't have one without the other. If an engine makes 1000 ftlbs of torque at 1500RPM and it also made 500ftlbs at 3000rpm the HP will be identical at both of those engine speeds. This is because the torque was cut in half but we doubled the engine speed or RPM. Imagine two guys shoveling snow out of their driveway, one guy is using a 24"wide shovel or 1000ftlbs and the other is using a 12" wide shovel 500ftlbs. The 24" shovel will take half the time at the same speed or RPM when compared to the 12" wide shovel. But if we can shovel twice as fast with a 12" shovel, aka Double our engine RPM we can make the same HP or shovel the same amount of snow in the same amount of time. That is HP! Same amount of snow shoveled but two different torque amounts and two different RPM. The equation for HP is this (RPM * Torque) / 5252=HP The next thing you need to learn is how engines are air pumps and the amount of air we can get in one determines the amount of torque it can produce.

    Appreciate the videos! Keep them coming! Good video! Good comparison. The Ford has 3.55 gears, and the GMC has 3.42 gears right? Both trucks are very nice. I really like that trailer as well.

    usually that bounce you're getting is because of to much weight on the front axle of the trailer that is transfering the load to the hitch. Would be nice to have seen you guys adjust load as I think it was off and causing that bounce....speaking from past experience.

    Incredible tow capacity. My 1983 Chevy C-10 with original 305 engine and 3 speed automatic hauls 2000lbs of roofing tear off down the road at 60 mph. Steering gets a bit squirrely above 70mph, but I slide by.

  • @fatchance1973

    Ford's performance is impressive, but is their a difference in reliability? As an anecdotal observation 80% of all the Diesel Tow trucks where I live are GMC/Chevrolet's. It's like how almost all the Taxi's here are Toyota Camry's. Just wondering if there is any reason for the Heavy GM representation.
    I am considering a 2500 HD and Ford's current offerings appear superior, performance wise, in both the Diesel and Gas versions. But this casual observation of Tow trucks in the area has me thinking.

      With the high number of dipshits driving these trucks with the monster trailers behind them without a proper license and training, the US needs those rules as well. It’s insane the US continues to allow this. Almost as bad as people pulling 30ft bumper pull trailers with a 1/2 ton truck.

      Scootaloo I wasn’t talking big rig drivers. I was talking these city slickers with lots of money that buy the trucks that are in this video. Never taken any kind of class or certification. Go buy a 100k trailer weighing 25k pounds loaded because they can. Then they head out at 80mph posing huge risk to others. Then people wonder why their insurance rates are so high.
