I've lived in Chester and Bath, and only went back to York last September, I have to admit, it is the best city in England, if not the UK. I love it. Safe, friendly, clean and full of character and history. What more do you need.
Very nice city. Really unique!
Even better than Chester and liverpool?? Iam planning to move to chester or york as an international student but cant decide between the two?
I couldn't agree more.
@@pashtun-travels-uk We are on the same page.
@@elteacher1000000 i chose Glasgow instead.
Amazing city walk. Thank you
Thank you for this video! I was lucky enough to visit England last December and walked the same steps as you have in the video when I visited York with my friend. It is such a beautiful city and I fell in love instantly from the moment I exited the train station. I didn't have an ideal place in mind to live in but since visiting York, I just keep thinking that this is the city I certainly want to move to if I ever get the opportunity to do so. It is my goal now to come back again as I feel like 3 days in the city was certainly not enough! I miss it so much, and England in general. Can't wait to come back again 😊
Lovely comments about my home town. You'd be more than welcome with that attitude.
May I ask where you're from?
@@jamesmason8436 I'm from the southwestern side of the United States so you can imagine how depressing it was for me to come back home after seeing all the beautiful green landscapes and historic buildings in York/England over all 😅 I've been feeling nostalgic since I came back and kept reminiscing about my time in England. I hope I will have the chance to live in your country in the near future! It has been my dream to visit and have always felt such strong affinity to it and it's history...which is why I am studying English lit in college 😅
But for the next time I come back, which places would you suggest I visit in and around Yorkshire? So far, I've only seen the city of York and Knaresborough..also such a picturesque and beautiful small town that I wouldn't mind coming back to.
@@jamesmason8436 York = many fat people, people so fat? the walk way is solid stone
Wonderful video! I'm in love with York and its history. So rich in culture and details. Thank you for showing us, a big hug from Brazil 🥰🌹
I really enjoyed this walk. Thank you.
I stayed there for a week back in 2013 at a very iffy hotel, and had a YorkPass. I'd like to go back some day before I'm too old to do it. Judging by this video, things cost a lot more than they did when I was there. Thanks for this. It was a trip down memory lane.
Another excellent walk around. Thankyou. 👍👌
Fabulous video. Thank you for the walk. It helps me with my planning for my York vacation next year.
Bellísimo! Muchas gracias.
Very well recorded and edited. Love the architecture/history of it all. Greetings from a Brit residing in the USA. Subscribed.
Thank you.
Yes, York is a lovely City!
I would love to do some cities in the USA at some point! Maybe next year🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
a good historical document.. people will look back at this in 100 years with interest as to how we used to live!
Was lovely walk together ))
Thank you so much!
Thank you 😊
Hi there!. Many thanks for sharing so amazing a video. A city of staggering beauty indeed. Were I to be over there, I´d like to cycle all around the city.. Not only do I have a penchant for running, but I also draw happiness from cycling. Soaking up the atmosphere in North Yorkshire would be unforgettable yeah!. Stay safe.
I am enjoying your walk around York. It is very informative and interesting. I enjoy tours best when I can see where I am.

My mother was from York.she came to Canada as a war bride .
County of York, West Riding and the County of The City of York. and the cerimolial county of north yorkshire later
I want to visit !!
York is brilliant. I certainly recommend it!
York, you magnificent Bastard!!
For your next trip to York suggest that you take a completely free walking tour with the Association of Voluntary Guides. Check us out on line. Totally free also means no tips. A qualified guide will explain the history of the city and the old buildings. You may even have a few laughs along the way.
I'll keep this in mind.
Surely I can buy you a pint?
Walk outside of the City walls and York is a totally different place
I'm sure it wont be long before York gets the much needed diversity and enrichment it needs by our new permanent guests. It really needs the slum treatment its far too nice at the moment
Bernadette, where are you ?
I wonder if is this place related with New York?🙄
I think it was changed in Honor of The Duke of York. So yeah, there is some connection 😊

It’s a lovely city, it’s just a real shame that the local council destroyed a lot of the little shambles and the backs of the buildings on the shambles to create the market square
Things are always best kept as they are 👍
hello unfortunately they have now started ripping apart Queen Street bridge near York railway station with excavators and rip Queen street bridge near York train station from 2023 to 2024
Not in Europe York is exclusively UK
York is not in the European Union (EU). However, geographically speaking, it is situated in Europe.
Thanks for spotting it. I may add some more information next time!
Suggest you do your homework first, or get a professional York Guide. To describe Kings Manor as the Art Gallery misses out some of the most important features of York. It. Is NOT an art gallery, but part of the University and was once the seat of government for England!
Your anger has been noted. Punishments will be given out accordingly.
Have the indigenous people been ousted by Chinese people?
Those Chinese people are students. York is a university town/ home to a Russell Group University.
York is not in North Yorkshire.
York is in North Yorkshire
@@richadambudgen7520 York IS North Yorkshire!!!
shambles market is depressing. i hate markets.
