Ahmed Ibrahim Hassan haji Ali sudanese, ha?
I agree ! And what a cruel lie he sets us up for! haha
Ahmed Ibrahim Hassan haji Ali 👌👌👌
Ahmed Ibrahim Hassan haji Ali If only...
I never thought about it but I totally agree with you, sir.
I am Spanish. However, I have lived in England for 21 years, literally half of my life. I can't get enough of it, England is stunningly beautiful, culturally rich, and just so special. I live in the South West and I am totally in love with it.
Where abouts may I ask? I love Devon
@@tomhomer9924 I am in Dorset. Near the New Forest and the beach. Its a gift.
thank you!
@@Lucia-pd6fi was the weather a big adjustment?
@cunt320 Yes, a little bit, particularly as I am from South Spain. However, you learn to appreciate the different seasons and, yes, even rainy days. The only thing I still find difficult is Jan - Feb... the darkness gets me a bit. The rest is fine.
York is brilliant, one of England's best cities.
Calling York England's best city is a stretch.
@@barbievideo6211 I live in York and I can definitely say people give the city too much credit 😂
@@minidwarfdude9230 me encantaría volver a verla! Qué hermosa es Inglaterra!.
England has so many wonderful cities
also hull
I've just discovered Rick Steve's travel programs, and each one I watch is like 25 minutes in heaven. Thankyou.
Bath and York, two brilliant traditional English cities which are full of history ,culture and customs 👍👍👍!
My 6th great grandfather was John Wood, whom designed the circus and much of Bath as well as other important buildings. It was so special to be there and see it!
Also, the Abbey in Bath was where King Edgar was coronated 973 ad. It set the precedent for coronations and ceremonies of all future kings/queens for England and Great Britain.
There are 8,000 bodies under the floors of Bath Abbey, as well as 1,508 memorials covering the floors and walls.
Europe is rich of history and Greenery. I Love it.
England is truly fascinating place, well kept history, tradition, aesthetically pleasing
Beautiful! I'm from Russia and I like such England, without pathos, with great nature and kind people, with small, but clear streets!))) Very interesting nation with great traditions!
BRITAINS DEVELOPMENT OVER 5,000 YEARS, LEFT IT'S MARK ON THE WORLD---MAINLY FOR THE BETTER--

Дмитрий Латышев does the city of Bath remind you of St. Petersburg? Same era architecture and baroque , neo classical influences
Visit while you can it's fast dying.
I really Iike your comment,I agree
"From Bath, York is just to the North". "Just"! 235 mile nearly 4 hours via the M5!
235 mile is around the corner to Americans, due to the size of there country. 😄
Take the train, the motorway is a nightmare
London to York that is
That's about the distance between Dallas and Houston
It's a pretty short drive by American standards. :-D
My family settled in America from Yorkshire in the 17th century to New York & then later on to the south! York looks amazing , so much history
YORK and YORKSHIRE are 2 different county's..
@@frankogo8547 no they are not, York is within North Yorkshire
@@frankogo8547 There are four administrative county's those being North, West, East and South Yorkshire, however the whole of Yorkshire is one historic county, which York is in, specifically North Yorkshire.
@@frankogo8547 York is a city located within Yorkshire County.
I'm so lucky to call this island home. I've visited both York and Bath (Bath just a few weeks ago...the Roman Baths are exceptional!!!!). I tried to visit the Royal Crescent but it was blocked off because they were filming Bridgerton
Indeed u are so lucky to be a Brit .
'Just to the north' of London. Yeahhhh.
Said 2 hours to the north.
I mean as an American, I gotta travel at least 2 hours to get to another state. So it’s all relative I guess.
@@Thursdaym2 It's almost a 4 hour drive!
@@thomHD 2 hours on the high speed train though
@@Eric-ys8do Sorry, but no trains are that fast and with changing lines it is over four hours. I think it is worth pointing out for tourists planning a visit to both places.
He has a nice relaxing voice and cheerful.
Hey Rick!, I just want to thank you and your entire team for making these wonderful videos, they are truly a delight to watch especially during this period when we are all locked up inside our homes battling the invisible Covid 19!
Beautiful bath and York great places
I must let you know about a little gem in Somerset, a small village called Dunster, a place i know well and very dear to my heart! Dunster is the prettiest place in Somerset, and has a slow paced feel to it, even in high season. The castle is gorgeous, but the village itself and surrounding hills are a joy to explore, and that old yarn market building is the perfect place to take a load of your feet and do some people watching or just to get out of the heat! I first visited in 1991 and last went there in june last year, its sad but while all my friends go to tenerife or typical spanish tourist traps, i would rather stay in the uk and explore what we have here, and i adore the uk, the landscape changes every few miles or more, though i have been abroad many times, i feel happiest in the uk because it allows me to appreciate our small island even more.
I do love dunster
Alexandra Starr Photography you must visit Ireland then too you would love it
@@alexandermorrisonhagan1820 pass Dunster Castle on my way to Lynton and Lynmouth, maybe next year I will get round to visiting it...
@@carolsnook4659 morning sweet, you won't be disappointed 😀
I live in the south west but have never heard about Dunster. So thank you, I will visit there.
Bath is my favorite british city. So beautiful.
Helena Karlsson Yeah I love Bath but York is probably my favourite dew to the fact it has seen so much of Englands history.
dew?
YEAH--THERE'S PLENTY OF THAT IN BATH

Awwwww Bath! My birthplace and where I lived in for 20 years of my life 😍😍😍😍 I worked @ the Roman Baths Museum as a visitors tour guide whilst at sixth form. Definitely would recommend to visit Bath xxxx
After over 10 years of wanting to go, I finally visited Yorkshire this year. York is great but I liked Whitby even better, an incredible location right on the sea and great fish and chips.
While at Whitby I hope you visited Robin Hood Bay just down the coast....

Most beautiful building on the earth
A visit to Bath is a trip back in time
Architecturally the 18th centry. Socially the 1970's
I disagree, it's extremely modern
I visited York in a rainy day. So impressive with its history and stuningbuildings.
Bath is truly remarkable!
Bauitiful York surrounded by the yorkshire ridings.
I’ve been in both cities, and they are simply gorgeous!!! Bath is close to Stonehenge, perfect for a quick trip. ♥️♥️
Just returned from a couple of days in York (actually visiting the racecourse there, but that's another story!) and it seemed even more beautiful than I remembered from my last visit a while back. A jewel of a place, with grand vistas everywhere you look. York is a very fine city too. We messed up a lot of our cities during the Industrial Revolution - though even places like Manchester and Birmingham are much nicer than they were even just a few years ago - but thank goodness we retained the charm and appearance of places like Bath and York.
I'm surprised that these American made videos of Bath---all fail to mention the fine 'American Museum 'of Pioneer art and genuine historic Artifacts there in. The Museum, a Georgian Manor House, perched on a hill overlooking the city, was gifted by the city to the US embassy post war. This is an excellent video by the way.
I wonder if it's because most Americans wouldn't be interested in an American museum while they're in Europe. For instance, if I were visiting England, I'd want to immerse myself in English culture, not look for the American stuff.
I've never heard of this and I researched Bath a lot back in the summer before I visited it. Will have to look it up.
@@trigonomic I am American and a museum lover and would go any and all American and European museums anywhere in Europe. 🇬🇧 🇺🇸 😊😃
Well, surprisingly, they will tell you, that there are many US treasures on display there, that are NOT, on display in America. The assumption is, that the British brought them home here, after the independance War. @@trigonomic
Well said. if you are interested in history, there should be no exclusions. @@danielleporter1829
watching my way through all of rick steves guides - such a great, informative, modest host. thumbs up :)
Lovely showcase of York. What does everyone love about York and Bath? Two very similar cities with lots of history
Thankyou for showing my beautiful City of Bath. Of which I am so proud to have been born and brought up in.
Love your show Rick Steves. You are one of the best travel shows along with anthony Bourdain, Action Bronson, thank you for all of these wonderful shows of places from around the world it’s awesome.
It should not be forgotten that York was the English capitol Long, long, long before the village of london......
So lovely and peaceful country ,sir Rick Steves I loved your channel Excellent god bless and peace
Beautiful documentary as always.
I've lived in bath and York I do have to say I feel super lucky 🤗
Very happy to live just 20minutes drive from bath!
BEAUTIFUL BATH
I prefer a shower.
love channel ,im from VIETNAM ....this country so beautyful
Thank you so mcuh for taking me back to Bath!! I absolutely loved it 😍and hope to return one day! I adore the times of Jane Austin, and Bath is typical. Also enjoy Rick’s easy and informative talks.
As always, Rick does a great job. I kinda wish, though, that he spent a tad less time on York’s churches; but, of course, they’re important, too. Perhaps focusing more on Clifford’s Tower, the Museum of Everyday life, the Shmbles, and - yes - the national railroad museum.
Rick Steves is a absolutely Legend! I always watch your videos , especially before I go travelling!
Thank you so much Mr. Rick Steve I love your videos
Loved it!!
EXCELLENT RICK---A FRESH LOOK AT OUR HISTORY FROM A VISITORS PERSPECTIVE.

Go to FRANCE instead it's better than here in ENGLAND 100%
It's breath taking
Beautiful. Miss it so much..
Yes, I totally agree with you.
I have been these 2 cities two years ago, they are way more fascinating than London!
Mr Steves crams soo much into such a short time, very educational.
I love you, Rick Steves.
I love these shows
He forgot to mention York's most breathtaking sight. The hordes of absolutely trolleyed, horrendously dressed hen parties roving the streets at 3pm on Saturday. It's truly a remarkable thing.
That's not exclusive to York though. All of England is one big hen party.
York in the early to late evening experiences a strange transformation. It goes from being one of the most beautiful cities in England, to a chav infested jungle. 😉
Haha so true 😁😂🤣
I deeply enjoy your work, Rick!
I live in bath and this makes me want to go visit it
Such a beautiful place ❤️
Great, as always!
Simply beautiful place to watch
TRIVIA. If you're in Bath, you might like to visit the grave of Frederic Weatherly, one of Bath's most notable residents. You may not of heard of him, but just about everyone in the English speaking world knows of his famous song, which is one of the most sung and recorded songs of all time. Just about all of the greats including Elvis have sung Danny Boy.
I always read that in the British novel, people went to Bath for vacation or illness treatment.
It is a Spa town , so yes they go for the healing waters, that is how it got its name(like Baden Baden in Germany).people also like it for its architecture and proximity to the countryside.
The green and pleasant land.
In parts.
Great Job Rick

I haven't made it to York yet but Bath is beautiful.
I hope you do make it up to York. I'm in the opposite boat. I've been to York many times and it's gorgeous, though for me it's especially beautiful at Christmas, mostly for nostalgic reasons.
I'd love to make my way down to Bath someday and see how it compares.

Quiet Street is named as it went past the old hospital and had wooden cobbles to keep the noise down for the benefit of the patients.

haven't been there but..for me looks like one of the finest heritage in england..
The three years which I spent at University in Bath were the happiest of my life. It's a beautiful Georgian city with Roman origins - the only place in England where really hot water pours out of the ground! Bath is also just fifteen minutes by rail from Bristol, which is also worth a visit!
