I am a NYC architect who visited Bath decades ago. I had tea and dessert at the Pump Room. Unfortunately, I only stayed for one day in Bath. This video is billiant and it beautifully shows the genius of the ancient Romans and the British people. This place is timeless. Bravo!
I visited Bath a few days ago, and it took my breath away. I fell in love with this beautiful place, the architect, the food and the history it's like no other ❤
We made the mistake of going to Salisbury, Stonehenge and Bath in the same day. Now I think Bath deserves more than one full day to get to know it better. It's beautiful.
Goodness that was a lot in one day. I guided tour no doubt, they only give a small taste of a place. Bath really needs a few days to enjoy it all. I took 3 to make this video.
Fantastic! I took my new girlfriend there in 2002 (still together & married now) as part of a Great Britain driving tour. She still tears up when she describes how special our breakfast was in The Pump Room that first morning. We didn't like drinking the spring water either - Cheers from across the pond!
I did not get to visit Bath when I was in the UK, but thanks to your wonderful video, I feel like I've been there. Thank you. I hope Will's trip was just as lovely as yours.
Bath is such a truly resplendent City with a fascinating history! From its lovely Georgian & historic buildings, the majestic Bath Abby, with the spectacular views from the Tower, to the beautiful Botanical Gardens, along with the other lovely gardens & waterways. As well as, the charming streets, shops, tearooms, pubs & restaurants.. and so much more! Thank you for sharing this captivating place & truly delightful experience! May I also just say, that I really hope & pray that your loved one, who was ill, is feeing much better now! Blessings to you all!
What a great asset the channel is to the RUclips channel. We will cherish these videos watching them from the space station above. Viewing the town or city by drone is always an added bonus viewing the spectacular architecture from above. Please continue making and editing great videos like this one with drone footage if possible.
Fantastic as usual. What a lovely place that is. Loved the architecture. The canal was a lovely place to walk. Thank you for taking me along. Please take care
We have been to Bath in July '23 on our tour through South-England and Wales. There were lots of places I recognized and some we didn't visit because of the time. Thank you for your tour!
I used to stay in bath a lot many years ago. I’ve not been in some time, but really love Bath such a beautiful city. I live in Chester so more of a distance for me now to get the time to visit . I loved Sally Lunns Bath Buns house and stayed in Pultnety street it’s such a relaxing town so Beautiful and romantic. I love the fact that it has its own micro city I gave happy memories of my dad taking me there often to visit as a child snd as an adult. I really need to visit soon. My favourite author Jane Austen resided in Bath for a time in her life.
This was wonderful. My daughter and I were in Bath this past April. I hadn’t been in over 30 years and it was even more beautiful than I had remembered. ❤
Thank you for your lovely tour around Bath. You have a calm pleasant voice and don't rush, yet show everything one would want to see. I especially like the view of the whole city from above to orientate oneself and see where things are in relation to each other. I have not seen this done by anyone else. My great great great .... grandfather was the organist at Bath Abbey for most of his adult life and you gave a very clear and good shot of the organ where he would have sat.
Even though I’ve never seen this city I feel like I know it from watching so many period dramas. My favorite is the Amanda Root Ciara’s Hinds film version of Persuasion. Your video is as scrumptious as one of those Sally Lunn buns!! Thanks!
Bath has always been one of my favorite locations to visit whenever we find ourselves in the U.K. Thank you for pointing out a few spots we missed! Makes us anxious to visit again soon.
I visited Bath a half century ago while sojourning in Bristol. Thanks for a delightful look at present day Bath and its many historical attractions : a true highlight among your many enjoyable travelogues.
What an amazing city, the engineering of the Romans was brilliant and to be still working shows the skill involved. Thank you as always as the history is so tangible through the vlog. Take care =-)
Hi Simon! This was a spectacular video on Bath! I learned quite a lot and thoroughly enjoyed your walking tour of this magnificent city. Bath is on my bucket list to visit, and you are the reason. Thank you so much for all that you do and for enriching us in so many wonderful places. Tell Will I said hello and thank him as well!
What an enjoyable & delightful episode. I enjoyed it so much, I watched it twice. It also brought back fond memories of my pen pal, who was from Bath. We were paired up for a school project.
Thank you so much Simon , we visited Bath in 2014 , we loved it . Thank for sharing some of the sites that we didn’t get to see. We so love your videos . 🤗🤗😘😘
Another superb video. I don't know what your day job is but both you and Will have a natural talent for this and it's great to see how your subscriber numbers have grown. Well done boys!
Thanks again for the great content. Best England tour channel on RUclips imo. Stunning camerawork, great background and history info AND ...REAL English Accents!!😊👍👍🍻
Your vlog was so beautifully put together showcasing Bath’s history, city layout, and what to see and do as a visitor. The vlog is helping me plan my Bath trip. Thank you for sharing your amazing talent with us.
@@MemorySeekers it was really beautiful seeing all the people in Regency clothing around the city. We saw a few in the Roman Baths and around the Abbey. We saw the most in the park in from of The Crescent. The gowns were stunning and the men in top hats was really something to see.
your tours are always wonderful, and so informative. my kids and i were in bath for about 2.5 days a few years back and would have loved to see this video as an intro. first. next time… 😄
Simon and Will, I really loved this video!!!👏👏 For me it was perfect and complete!! I had the oppotunity to revisit this beautiful region of ENGLAND! Thanks so much!🙏🙏 NEUSA❤🇧🇷
This is the best video ive seen on here about The City of Bath. Great commentary with lots of info. I know Bath well as i live only 15 mins away. You must of done a lot of research into doing this video as you feature some things that i didnt know. 😊
Even Bath is not immune to the barbarians. I recall reading a large illustrated book in my local library which showed the buildings that had been demolished in the name of progress. One of them was a beautiful detached Georgian building that had been swept away and in its place had been built......a concrete electricity sub-station.
Bath suffered heavily in WWII (Hitler's Baedecker blitz raids), so a considerable quantity of Georgian architecture was lost then. Unfortunately the city planners in the 1960s didn't rebuild areas sympathetically with what had survived, causing much outrage!
This is one of your best videos -- and that's saying something as they are all lovely. This one is particularly wonderful. You've showcased Bath beautifully and shown it to be easy to access, and educational and fun to visit. Thanks for a great tour!
Que ciudad más espectacular , hermosa . Ustedes hacen un lindo trabajo al mostrar su país. Me impacta su iglesia , los baños de la época romana . Saludos de Chile.
Seriously, one of the Best tourist-focused videos I've seen on Bath! It's inspired me to consider visiting Bath and the Cotswolds before Switzerland! Nicely done, Sir!
Wonderful! So much history and you've shared the information so well! I love how you show the maps, especially as I've read and seen so many period stories that mention these places; it's great to see where they are located in relation to each other. The Pump Room is so famous, and is likely featured half the 'Regency Romances' written. I've seen your other videos featuring places where Jane Austen lived or visited, and this provided the missing piece. I have to say, walking on a catwalk above that fan vaulting must have been an amazing experience. So enjoyable! Take care 'til next time.
Hello Simon ~ Enjoyed your video of Bath & I'm so happy that I can say we were just there in August, the weather was beautiful & we drank the mineral water. Hope all is going well on your end! Bye for now! 🙋♀️ 💕💫
As always a great visit, what a lovely city. I had to smile at the jam and cream disussion...in our family the cream definitely goes on top of the jam...as well as that the milk goes into the cup before the tea...😂😂 cheers Cheryl 🙂

Hello, dear man. Joseph again. I just sent $5 (US) as a very small thank you. This is such a wonderful video for me as I will be in Bath in September. The Henrietta (you already commented on it here) is definitely where I want to stay, so I will check on booking soon. Will you tell me how close the Henrietta is to the center of Bath? Thanks, Joseph
Very random, but the concept of the Pulteney Bridge reminds me of the architectural idea behind the University of Essex.
