Hold on, I am a life-long clinically depressed person. I am now sixty-three and coming out of the worst depressive episode of my life, years long. But hang on, hold on, and remember, God makes nothing that is useless or bad. Do one little thing a day and slowly build that up. If music dispels some of the darkness, listen to it at work or leisure. Find music that speaks to you...I love Enya and many of the folk singers from the 1960's and 1970's. Find what makes you smile. I also have my religion, which I came back to some years back. Try some things you've thought about for years. These are just things off the top of my head. Take what might help.

To be honest Islam is just a very minor problem and confined to areas where you wouldnt want to visit. Most of the UK is perfectly safe and secure.
