    My avg combined is 47.7mpg, 2007 E60 stock everything! Takes a motorway trip 3-4 times a week 30mi each way. Using cheap diesel at that. Just thrown some fuel system cleaner through it in the month I have had the thing, when I got it it was running at around 35mpg!
    These are ace cars! So happy I bought it!

    After remove EGR and DPF, Emission will be higher yes?? How it will be on MOT?? They will test your Emission?? I don't remember if they test emission in Diesel Car or Petrol.

    • @kylty23
      @kylty23 3 года назад +2

      Dpf removal is illegal... egr not so but will fail if missing for inspection... there are kits to block ports and de code egr so it doesn’t open at all which is the preferred method.
      If any visible gas is seen during test its auto fail... dpf removal will deffo allow soot to leave the system to the atmosphere... passing the eyes of the inspecting mot guy.
      So I would advise looking at your air inlet snorkel that meets the grills as normally they only have one of the inlet actually open... take a dremel and ream out the closed side to match and you’ll notice the difference, also smooth out the air box housing internally and trim internal snorkel(s) also if preferred. Keep the air inlet as it stops hot air from entering your system which kills power effortlessly... panel filter was best option.
      A bottle of Wynns gold helps and walnut blasting is a blessing. Use good fuels but treat your to special fuel cleaners to keep jets ect shiny-ish. 😉
      Dark developments have a beautiful turbo kit and lots of other bits you would find very interesting. Let me know if any of this helps you... kyl.

      Probably not, depending how old your car is the mot tester will looking for tampering on the DPF, not sure how they view EGR removal. I have been warned thought that rules are getting a lot stricter on emissions equipment. It’s already illegal but not really heard of it being enforced.

    Hey bud. I have a 2015 328d. Just had the recall done on the transfer case and cv joints. But the car still seems kind of “clunky” for lack of a better word. The main thing I notice is when slowing for a turn on red without coming to a complete stop, when I start to pull away again, it’s as if the car is caught with its pants down for a split second. In my mind the car can’t decide whether to downshift to first or hold onto second until I decide to go and that’s when it immediately tries to jump back into first. In doing so, the car kinda jolts into motion. Very frustrating.

    Hi George, where would I be able to find an EGR delete kit in South Africa? Just did my engine over (Notorious N47 timing chain snapped, bent valves etc...), This is how I started watching your channel. Thanx for all your videos by the way, you helped me rebuild my engine. Watching this particular video, I can relate, I found this thick black soot you speak of in my intake manifold, cleaned it up beautifully before reinstalling, but want to delete the EGR now to avoid it sooting up again. Also noticed a very strange phenomenon with my car, EXTREMELY poor fuel efficiency for Diesel in town and EXTREMELY excellent fuel efficiency on the freeway, which makes me believe your theory of hot gas entering the intake between 1000/2000RPM with the EGR which is generally the rev range used in town driving. My car gives 9-10km/l in town and 27km/l on highway @ any speed between 130-160km/h, over 160km/h it gets around 21km/l and over 180km/h gets 19km/l any other reason it would be so heavy in town?
    CAT and DPF removed, Turbo reconditioned and now that the head is completely rebuilt, everything should work perfectly, but still poor fuel efficiency in town.

    • @maxhar2898
      @maxhar2898 4 года назад

      I don't think any oil catch can would have OEM fittings for this engine bay.
      Anyway, having removed the EGR things, you could use longer bolts from delete plates to install an oil catch can.

    • @brodiehaward
      @brodiehaward 4 года назад

      Max Har you would not want to mount it in place of the EGR due to the heat, it would be best placed next to the coolant reservoir as this is as far as possible from the engine. As for fittings, the top hose is essentially a barb, so i would use a hose and a jubilee clip. The bottom end of the hose however is a female connection, so i would probably find a way to connect to the OEM Hose, whether this be with a barb or AN fitting, or something different.

    • @maxhar2898
      @maxhar2898 4 года назад

      @@brodiehaward
      As long as you avoid the exhaust side of the engine, the best place for an oil catch can is where you can install it steady.
      The EGR cooler bolts, side of the intake manifold, is maybe at 70-80°C when the engine is hot. It is enough "cold".
      This engine bay seems dense, I am not sure you can install correctly the oil catch can near the coolant reservoir.
      " The bottom end of the hose however is a female connection " for me, no. The OEM breather hose has an external joint so it enters into a female connector, what I call male ...
      Note : If you buy this breather hose on internet, it may arrive without the joint, which is wrong.
      Note2 : the F20 breather hose has a bent top connector (which is female). It may be used to go in any side direction taking care it is not interfering with the engine cover or other hoses, and the hose diameter is smaller (20mm instead 21mm).
      Ref 13717823517 bent connector and 13717803842 straight connector
