ABOUT THIS CHANNEL:
Welcome to My Mum Makes! I’ve started this channel as a creative outlet to share my sewing projects online. I’ve loved to sew since my Mum taught me as a little girl and I find it relaxing, productive and fun. I love the chance to make things for my kids, myself and our home and I want you to feel motivated to give sewing a try and get creative. I think creativity is good for us especially as Mums. We can get so stuck in our everyday repetition, but spending some me-time creating something is a great way to unwind, prioritise our needs and use our brains in a different way to the everyday. Don’t forget to follow me on Instagram @mymummakes.marie to see more of what I’m up to.
GET TO KNOW US:
* Where are you from? South Australia
* What sewing machine do you use? Janome DC2150 - would definitely recommend Janome, can’t go wrong.

You children are absolutely adorable and so photogenic. Congratulations!
Thanks so much that's lovely of you to say
Your channel is my favorite! I’m a sewing mom with a toddler and another baby on the way-I hope to be as wise and experienced as you a few years down the road! ❤️
Congrats on expecting a new baby!!!
I certainly don't feel wise but I appreciate you saying that. I think we're all just making life up as we go along - always learning 💕
Thanks for these great videos. I don't have children so I need mum advice on what to make for nieces and nephews, so thank you very much
My pleasure! I'm sorry your nephews and nieces will love that you're sewing for them 🥰
A lot of great ideas. I would definitely like to make those art smocks!.
They're a lot of fun to make!
With four small children, how do you manage your time? How do you sew, plan videos, edit, etc? During naptime, after they go to sleep at night?
I get about 1.5 hours in the middle of the day when they're napping and then a couple of hours after that go to bed at 7pm. It's a lot of work which is why I can only post a new video every 2-3 weeks
Great video!! Thanks for all of the great ideas!!
You're very welcome! I hope you have fun sewing one of these ideas!
These are some great ideas! Jess oklaroots did a great video compilation of one quilting block a month and then shows you how to put it all together.
Ohhhh that sounds achievable! I'll have to check it out ❤️
Great video as always! I can’t believe how much your channel has grown, I remember when you had 400 subscribers😂
Hi Sophie!
Yes it's been good steady growth of the channel which is really exciting 😊
I just found your channel. Love it. I subscribed

Marie,
My grandson loves trucks. Where did you purchase the truck fabric for the bucket hat? Thanks.
Hi!
I've used a few truck fabrics for bucket hats from Spotlight which is a big craft franchise in Australia. I'll link the two I've used below but if you search "truck fabric" on Google or on a shop website there are quite a lot of options.
Hope that's helpful

Wonderful video! Definitely will make something for my sister. Love your ideas. Which one do you suggest that's not time consuming.
The play silks will definitely be the easiest because you just hem the edges of the material and then you could pair it with some toy animals. The bean bags are a good easy one too and not too long to make.
Thanks, I will probably make some playsilks. How big do you suggest for the fabric?
@@stupefyedits1633 ours are and 1.2 meter (1 and 1/2 yard) squares mostly but they can be any size
Thanks again
@@stupefyedits1633 my pleasure!!
I want to make a critter lovey, I don't know how to
I'm not sure what that is actually - can you describe it or send me a link?
