Love the car mat idea!
We can always rely on you to find some great patterns. The hot water bottle patterns are a real winner! Thanks Amelia xx
Thank you, Carolyn. The hot water bottle pattern is such a cute one!
Loved all your ideas. I'm giving the apron pattern a try. I've made aprons previously... tip: side cell phone pocket! I now add a side cell phone pocket. When you bend over, the cell phone is safely in the side pocket.
That is a great idea, thank you Darlene!
Great ideas.🙋🏼♀️🇦🇺
Hi Amelia, great ideas for gifts and those dolls clothes are adorable 😍. So lovely that her Brother had a hand in her gift 🙏💞😁😘
Thank you, Sally. They are such lovely patterns and he so enjoyed working on them for his sister.

Wow, lots of fabulous ideas. Love the playhouse! And thank you for the lovely mentions xx
Thank you for such great tutorials! I am glad you liked the playhouse suggestion, I think it would be such a cute gift! Thanks for watching, Tamlyn. ❤
Just discovered your channel today and I loved this video. My mother in law has bought my 5 year old daughter (also Amelia 😊) her own sewing machine for Christmas and the dolls clothes look like a great first project for her. Really looking forward to sitting at the table with her, sewing together 😊
Thank you so much for watching Lynsey! What a lovely gift for your daughter! I hope you both really enjoy sewing side by side. ❤
You all ate very lucky to know how to sew and give expensive gifts very nicely beautiful done

Thanks for watching!
The fabric for the tea towels looks incredibly pretty I’m in love 🤩
I'm in love with the fabric too. It is going to be hard to gift!
The pajama fabric choices are fabulous. I swooned at the dinosaur Christmas fabric.
Aren't the dinosaurs so cute! I think my boys will love their Christmas PJ's this year. Thanks for watching, Sonia!
Thank you 😊
You're welcome 😊
Thank you for the ideas Amelia, your dress is gorgeous, I love the colour x
I am so glad you enjoyed the suggestions. Thank you for watching, Lorraine!
So many lovely ideas, Amelia! The hot water bottle covers are adorable. I'm planning tons of bowl cosies this year and have been having fun pulling out scraps and ordering fat quarters. This is putting me in the festive spirit!
Thank you, Theresa. The bowl cosies are such a perfect gift. I hope you enjoy sewing all of yours! Making this made me feel so festive and now we have Christmas music playing in the house despite my husband reminding me we are still in November. 😂
Thanks so much for all these great ideas
❤
Love the hot water bottle covers I have knitted them but arthritis has stopped me from knitting so this is brilliant 😍
I knitted my first one too but this is definitely a lot faster! You could probably just make plain ones from fabric too, without the animal decorations!
This is the third Christmas since I've been sewing garments and I've just bought my now annual pyjama fabric. I'm very excited to start cutting out and batch sewing flannel bottoms and jersey tops. I love your Christmas dress!
I hope you enjoy sewing up your Christmas PJ's, I need to make some for myself as well as my children this year!
Great video Amelia. Thank you for all the lovely ideas. Got to get cracking with some Christmas makes. Looking forward to seeing your next video 😊💐
Thank you so much Bridget. I am glad you enjoyed the suggestions in the video. I hope your festive sewing goes well!
I love the hot water bottle covers... I may even make one for my boyfriend hehe! I have made both the little doll houses and a play mat for nieces and nephews before and theyŕe so much fun to make. I found the plastic binca you can buy for teaching children cross stitch gave great structure to the houses.
Thank you Imogen, that is a really good tip for the walls of the play house. I made a hot water bottle cover for myself too - albeit a plain one ;) - but I do use mine every day too!
Thank you for sharing such lovely ideas for gifts 🎁
I'm so glad you enjoyed my suggestions. Thanks for watching, Sue!
I absolutely love the hot water bottle covers, so thank you so much for highlighting them in your video. Off to see what I could use to make some! 😃🤞

Thank you Jennet! I hope you have a great Christmas too.
hi! wow! your positive, loving energy really sparked my get it done, don't worry about other's opinion of why i choose to make the things i make. TY!!!! ideas. if you leave an opening on the bottom with velcro tabs, for washing, on one of the sides of each panel and insert a plastic canvass, like for rug making, cardboard, or $1. store plastic cutting matts, it will give your house more structure. and for you cozy or water bottle, as long as it is not wool, nylon, acrylic, of plastic nature, you can use an old clean, thick towel, old denim clothes, jeans, coveralls, shirts, only pure cotton no nylon, non-stretchy materials, or nice cotton canvas usually found in home decor. if you have a used canvass tote bag that will work to. sometimes sold as in sets, on sale or at the dollar store. or ask your relatives, a lot of people discard, or quit using them and they're in good condition, plus you can use the bag's handle for carrying or hanging storage, or use it for the car matt, or the playhouse, boys want a hose to. loved all these vintage ideas. can't wait to get started!!!
Thank you Irene! I am glad you enjoyed all the ideas and thank you for sharing yours too. Thank you so much for watching. ❤
I would love any of them for Christmas! I love your headband too xx

@@sewamelia the bonus is I have to buy them early Nov to get them delivered and wrapped, the inventory is excellent earlier….wait until December and there is some choices not available.

Great video and amazing suggestions

Hi from Australia. Great suggestions - things that most people want and not too "crafty". I will definitely be looking at a few of these now and through the year. Thanks also for thinking of us Southern folk. It's beach weather for us at Christmas. Best wishes to you this holiday season.
Thank you so much Marie. I am glad you enjoyed the video!

Lots of great and unusual gift ideas. Ive never seen such lovely linen prints like you used on the tea towels here in the USA.
Thank you, Angie! I used Rifle Paper Co. fabric which I think you can get direct from their website in the USA. ❤
Wonderful, creative video ❣️
Thank you Karol!

Good Morning 🎶☀️
These were great ideas! Discovered your channel today with this. Going to use the hashtag for the challenge to find more great sewing channels!
Thanks so much for watching!
I love my bowl holder. I have them in 2 sizes. Have saved many spills because of burned fingers.
They are so useful! Glad you love yours too.
Newbie here & loved your video & love, love, love freebies !! ❤️ I'll be back to watch more ! And by the way (BTW) I'm in Southern California!!
Thanks so much for watching!
How did I not know about bowl cosies?? Never mind making them for other people, I need to make myself some to save my fingers. I just don't understand how things get so burning hot in the microwave 😄 Also, those water bottle cosies are incredibly cute.
Thank you Melissa! The bowl cosies are so handy, I use mine everyday! Thanks for watching!
Kia ora Amelia! Love all of these ideas - thanks for including our Play House in your great line up! X
It is such a beautiful pattern! ❤
Mama Sofia, watching your vedio very nice
Thank you Sofia!
Hello from Northern Ireland. Just found you and happy to subscribe as I love the idea of giving handmade gifts. I want to make the little house for myself to use for my hand embroidery. Oh and pyjamas for myself and siblings... all grown up. Do you have patterns for doggie jumpers and dggie coats please? Thank you Vera.
Thank you for watching Vera! I don't have any pets, so I am not very familiar with dog patterns. But I think Merchant and Mills may have just released a dog coat pattern?
Thank you for sharing all the gifts. I just found your channel and it’s great that you are in England. I had always knitted and embroidered plus bag making. I got into sewing clothes a few years ago and I live in Surrey and we don not have a great selection of fabric shops, so it’s been hard discovering all the different fabrics and their feels. Do you have a fabric shop that you recommend. I do order all online at the moment.
Hi Angela, thanks so much for watching! I do have a few fabric shops that I use a lot. Sew Me Sunshine is fantastic and one of my favourites, but I also like to shop at Fabric Godmother and Lamazi Fabrics. Minerva is also great and they send samples of fabrics if you want to get an idea of what the fabric is like before you purchase a lot of it. Thanks for watching! ❤
@@sewamelia thank you, do you happen to know what double brushed poly is called in the uk
You mentioned "for pets" but I didn't see any pet projects
I thanks you for the specifics on the bowl cozy materials
The challenge is open to gifts for pets, but I didn't include any in my video as I don't have any pets sadly.
Where was the rag doll from you made the clothes for? Lovely ideas. Thank you
Thank you Bev. My daughter's doll is a Dinkum Doll from Olli Ella in the UK. But I believe it is available from a variety of stockists.
Please make a video of aprin
If you check out a channel called 'Stitched Up', Rachel has done a brilliant sewalong for the apron.
Since I'm not British I'm really curious about the giving gifts to your children's teachers. Is that a common practice in England? We don't do that here, but we might gift our teachers (as a student) something when we graduate or if they leave for another job
We do often give gifts at the end of each term to thank them for their hard work.
We do that in our family as well 🇨🇦
I tried to download the pajama pants pattern but I can't find it in my file folder. Do you have any idea where it may be?
Not sure sorry!
So, I’m on an IPad and I don’t see a “blog” or any way to link to these patterns. Where is it??? Thanks for any help someone can give me.
Hi! If you click on the description below the video there are links to click on in there. Hope that helps!
Is there a pattern for the doll shown in this video?
Sadly no. It is a 'Dinkum Doll' originally from Oli Ella, but I believe they are more widely available now.
Tea towels are a lovely idea, but where I live children are not allowed to carry alcohol into a school. The wine would have to be delivered to the teacher at home.
That is really interesting. I am still deciding on wine or hand cream, so will have a think before I gift these.
Guessing your talking about microwave hot bottles rather than hot water?
No, we use slightly cooled hot water from the kettle.
Just an FYI the bowl cozy link sends us to her her Etsy shop and it’s not free. Thanks for your video
Thanks so much! I have listed another tutorial that is completely free - so hopefully that helps. www.lovelyandenough.com/blog/2020/9/bowl-cozy-tutorial
Very disappointed, where is the print icon for the apron pattern??
Hi! If you go to the description box below the video, I have included links to all the websites that I mention in the video. For the apron, follow the link in the description box and then you can download the pattern directly from Hey June Handmade's website. I hope that helps and thanks for watching!
My first time seeing you, unfortunately I don’t sew, I embroider, your video popped up on my front page. You speak absolutely beautifully so I was quite upset when you felt you had to use some awful Americanisms Super this and that, you don’t need to do it, your sewing looks amazing and your presenting is audible and easy to follow.xx
Thank you for your feedback Jacqui. I am glad you enjoyed the video. I think growing up in various different countries, I have adopted phrases from many different cultures! I love embroidery too and am hoping to include a few more projects which include embroidery on my channel soon. Thanks for watching!
@@sewamelia what a good sport you are, thank you, will look forward to the embroidery as I am not so good at sewing, oh how I wish I was, I imagine the clothes I could make, but none the less love watching yours x
