To my lovely friend John....who passed away in April...I couldn't say goodbye...my present to him would be more time to show how much he meant to me xxx
I would love to make a gift for my Mum as she passed away in October. It would be a bag full of love, kisses and hugs from me as I miss her so much and she was the person that taught me to sew. She can share them with my lovely Dad as now they are together again ❤❤❤
Sorry for ur loss I too would love to make a gift for my step dad who died ocr 2013. I started sewing after his death. He would have been so encouraging in my new hobby. Xx
I’d love to give a gift of kindness- it doesn’t need to be anything , a smile a hello , do you need any help with that . A little kindness means so much when given and received 💞
Lovely ideas I made infinity scarfs last year for all my kids teachers such a fab idea!! I would love to treat my mum to one of the sewing retreats in Scotland as a present she just started to learn to sew I cannot wait to do sewing stuff together!! She’s just the best mum and Nannie to my kiddies we love her so much!! Xxxx
Thanks for the ideas, I’m going to get started on some make up pouches. I’d like to make my daughter an oodie style robe so when she wears it, it’s like big hug from me. She’s away at university and I miss her!x
Hi Tamlyn, I am going to make my wonderful daughter one of those huge oversized hoodie's made from a cosy French terry so that she can snuggle up at night during these cold winter months when we are all trying to conserve our heating. Love your gift ideas x
Some fabulous ideas there Tamlyn and great ways to use up those odds and ends of fabrics. Loved them all. 💖. My gift is to our local homeless charity who provide help and support to the homeless and housing vulnerable people. They are currently desperate for men's clothing. I have some sweatshirting which I am going to sew into a pair of joggers. It won't be much, but we're also sorting out our wardrobe and passing on our pre covid clothes which no longer fit! Every little helps ☺️
I would make makeup bags and laptop bags for the staff in my Mum’s nursing home, they are so kind and caring towards all the residents and it would be a way to say thank you for their dedication x
Tamlyn, your little notes on my orders from 1st for fabrics always make me smile (make me feel like you know me which you don't) and your youtube channel makes me inspired. As a teacher time is a premium, as you know. It's always lovely to get handmade teacher gifts rather than the candles, chocolate and booze which I love too. I would make gifts for all the wonderful neurological ward 205 especially my consultant Dr Macleod Aberdeen royal infirmary who help me manage my chronic neurosarcoidosis and FND. They have helped with my amazing IVIG treatment and now I do SCIG at home weekly thanks to them. My life is nearly back to normal after 2013 thanks to them and royal free London. I would make her a lovely lanyard. I also now teach in a lovely small school where my colleagues are all so supportive especially when I flare up. Life is good. Sian
I would give the gift of time to my mother. Time for her to meet her great grandchildren. She died at a very early age of 52 and she loved her grandchildren more than anything. But if she could just have one day with her great grandchildren it would make me so happy. I miss her every day but it hurts even more that they never got to meet what a special woman she was. My children live in London So I have a UK address. That also means that I don’t see them very often either since I live in the US. Time. Time would be my gift
I would give the gift to Julie my friend. I gave her my first basic Toyota sewing machine 3 weeks ago. After teaching how to thread up and a few hiccups... she has now made dozens of coin purses and glasses cases for a Christmas stall 😊
I would like to give a gift to my children and my niece and nephews to make this Christmas special for them. My niece and nephews lived with my mum. After a short battle with cancer my mum sadly passed away at Christmas time 2021 devastating our whole family. They have lived with me and my hubby since along with our six children. All 9 children have been amazing, supporting each other ❤
Lovely ideas for small gifts. I would love to make one more Christmas dress for my daughter. She sadly passed away in 2019 and I miss her saying "mum, can you just make me...." I was honoured that she liked wearing "mum made"
If I could, I would make my mum the most fabulous jacket. She died from cancer when she was only 45 and money was always very tight so she never bought herself anything nice ‘just because’. There was a funky colourful jacket we once saw when out shopping - which she fell in love with - but it was too expensive. I would absolutely love collaborating with her in the creative process of figuring out a style, fabric choice, pattern and putting lots of love and care into this garment for her.
My lovely mum passed away 24years before I started sewing, but would be proud of the skills I’ve learnt and I’d love to have had the opportunity to make her something 💕
Lovely gift ideas, thank you. I’d like to give a gift to all the amazing sewing vloggers I watch as I really appreciate all the time and effort you all put in to making videos I really enjoy. Thank you.
I’d really love to give my nana and grandpa a present this Christmas. I lost them when I was under 10 years old. I’d give the gift of Christmas with their great grand kids xx
I would make blankets from squish for my daughter’s birth parents in China, the closest thing I can think of to the warmest hug that we would love to give them.
I would love to gift all the you tubers who provide me with so much inspiration and also keep me entertained when I just don't have the energy or I need a bit of fun and friendship on days that are not going well. I don't know what the appropriate gift would be but I send you all my heartfelt thanks and best wishes to you all as I don't know if you realise how much joy and pleasure you give. Thank you a million times xx
Would give a beautiful liberty print shirt to my Mum who died 30 years ago. She was a seamstress, she would proud I have followed in her footsteps and sew all my own clothes. She made almost all our clothes as children
Like so many others, I just wish my beloved mum was here so that I could make her a present - probably a bag as she loved her handbags 😍 Mum was my greatest supporter and encouraged me in everything I made .... I'm sure she is watching me from above and smiling at all my "me mades" 😊
I going to be sewing with my granddaughter for Christmas. She has just started school and wants to make her teacher a pencil case. Plus a couple of drawstring bags, with scrunchies inside. Love how crafty she is at such a young age. I’m making testing cushions for so the grandchildren, following a workshop at my local quilting group. Love the idea of the snoods.
My amazing and wonderful parents both passed away many years before their only granddaughter was born, and if I could I would gift her the love that they would have had for her.
I’ve already used your tutorial for make up wipes and make up bags, great projects. I’d love to make something for my late mum, she was a machinist for years but in later life suffered with rheumatoid arthritis and couldn’t sew any more. I’ve on,y recently come back to sewing, it would be lovely to have mad3 her something warm and cosy x
Wonderful ideas Tamlyn and I have news ideas for all those thank you present’s you need all through the year! I will say I would love to have made something for my mother in law who passed away when she was 52 from cancer. She was always very stylish and I never had the chance to add to her wardrobe xx
Thanks for the ideas for presents. At the moment I'm making a gift for my daughter, a jersey top in a pretty print and its not even for Christmas. She split up with her first serious boyfriend and I think a parcel from home will give her a boost and remind her we love her.
Great gift ideas, Sadly my parents both passed before my grandchildren arrived, I would have loved them to have met, this would have been the greatest gift I could imagine.
I’d like to give to my dads care home manager, Sara. She’s the kindest person and truly cares about the old folk. I’d like to give her the gift of a weeks holiday. So she could visit her family. I know she misses them.
Oh I love your bloopers. They make me feel bit better about all the silly things I do when recording (like freezing for a looong while and daydreaming 🙈, forgetting what I was about to say or talking so fast I can't even understand myself. But nothing bits sneezing, I knocked down my tripod and my phone with last big sneeze)
Thank you so much, fab ideas. My gift will always be for my beautiful grandchildren. Scarlett, Aria, Willow and George. They don’t realise how much joy they give me all year round. My gift as always is my time, and spend it making memories. Obviously being creative too. ❤
Thank you for the lovely vlog. Such lovely ideas. I have always made gifts ever since I was a child, I dread to think how bad some of them were. But my family always seemed to appreciate them, even it was just the effort! 😂 If I could make gifts now for anyone it would be my two grandmothers as they would love everything so much and it would be such a joy to see their faces as they open them. X
I would have loved to make and gift something I made to my first son who died 24 years ago shortly after he was born. However I have been able to make my subsequent 5 children lots of things. These gift ideas are fab, well done Tamlyn 👍
I have made loads of your reversible bags and the little apron is also one of my favourites. Thank you so much for the fat quarter orojects. The lovely fabrics we get with the sew Hayley Jane boxes are perfect for all the gift ideas.
Hi Tamlyn, great gift ideas and as you said, plenty of time to make them for Xmas. I would like to make gifts for all elderly people who live alone. I think hand made gifts are so greatly appreciated because of the time and care that goes into making them.
Loved seeing your gift choices. This year I am focusing on only making handmade gifts for my partner and children. I want to see if I can finally manage to make matching pj's for us all which I have been meaning to make for the last 2 years😅
When I was little my Mum used to make a lot of my clothes and made my baby doll a matching outfit from the scraps. She passed away a few years ago now so I would love to have been able to give her tickets to a musical as we loved to go to them together.
Hello. I love these gift ideas!! Thank you. I would love to be able to give a gift to my step dad, but I can't as he passed away fromasdive stroke in 2019 and I never got to say good bye and thank you for being the wonderful dad that he didn't have to be. My mom is currently fighting lung cancer and I've become her full time caregiver, I want to sew her up a jumper as she's always cold, I love to make her things as she's so proud of my sewing. She's a wonderful mom. I'm also planning on making pj's for my 6 great nephews and my 1 great niece ❤️ Love watching you on you tube, you make me laugh....I watch Ruan also and Michelle ( sewing bunny).... you all are so much fun!
Great gift ideas Tamlyn. I need to pull my finger out and start doing some Christmas makes. I’m not sure I can narrow it down to 1 gift but probably my dear Grandad who I would spend hours with in his shed while he usually made something for me x
I love these ideas, Tamlyn! I am in the process of planning these days, so it was really useful. (Shout out to Adam and Alison for thinking up this great challenge!) My darling mum passed away 5 years ago. She was a great seamstress, and somehow (even though she worked on the farm in addition to her teaching job) managed to sew me and my four siblings new Christmas outfits every year. I only started sewing after she passed away, and I would have loved to sew her something like a new winter coat, just to have her snuggle up in something that I now know how to make. (PS. Please don't enter this into the draw, as I live in Norway. Just wanted to tell the story anyway..).
Love love love these ideas Tamlyn, funny I have an order for a Christmas gift for a pair of Oven Gloves with the Tula panda 🐼 fabric, that’s reminded me I need to get that done haha 😂 Thankyou so much for being part of the tour and for sponsoring the challenge too! 😘
Really great gift ideas (maybe I will get started early this year....). Thanks for the give away. I'd make a some children's clothes for a lady I used to work with. She made two beautiful quilts as gifts for my children when they were born, but I didn't sew at the time so didn't give he handmade gifts when her children were born. We've lost touch now but I still think of her when I see the quilts.
Great gift ideas Tamlyn. I would love to have made an outfit for Marilyn Monroe to wear to the Oscars. Her elegance and the Hollywood glamour of that time is just glorious.
My little boy has just started at a new nursery so these ideas are so helpful. Thank you. If I could gift something to someone it would be to my Nan. She used to sew and was very creative, unfortunately I found my love for sewing after she passed. I would love to gift her something handmade so she could see that I carried on the creative torch ❤
Wonderful video as always Tamlyn. I love the fact you give all of Taylor’s nursery teachers a handmade present. Brilliant ideas and what an amazing lady you are sponsoring with a prize. Whoever wins a top made by you is very lucky indeed. Righteo onto the present, if I could give anything to anyone it would be a VW campervan for my wonderful wife as it would be her dream to own one and make family memories in 🌈 👩👩👦❤ Thank you for running such a fab ‘gift away’ too 😘
Some fantastic ideas Tamlyn. ♥ For the here and now, I'd gift my time to someone who needs a wee bit of TLC, whether it's a bit of chat or sharing my skills with them x
My daughter who lives with us, in her 40’s. Started her music teacher business about 6 years and works very hard and put up with her parents and dog. I would love to take her on a holiday of a life time as she rarely takes time off.
Love your gift ideas. I’ve already made up a couple of the double oven mitts for gifts following your instructions. I would love to make my mum one of those cosy neck warmers as she suffers from dementia and feels constantly cold.
Such great prezzie ideas Tamlyn! Thank you! I would like to give a gift to my late grandfather. My granddad was born in 1910, and wore a suit and bowtie every day of his adult life. He passed away before I took up sewing but I would love to be able to give him a special handmade bowtie for his collection xx
Thank you for the gift ideas, I’ll definitely be making at least one snood using the Apple Green Cottage tutorial. I’d love to give a gift to my beautiful niece Samantha. She absolutely loves hand crafted items and appreciates all the work that goes into creating something. Without going into too much detail she has had the most terrible year this year. I’m thinking of making her a lay flat make up bag (the ones that pull up with a draw string). I’m going to quilt and embroider it for her so she has something to treasure. Xxx
Fabulous gift ideas Tamlyn, I’m really looking forward to this challenge because I love Christmas! I’d like to give the gift of spending just one last day with a loved that has passed away unexpectedly and people were unable to say goodbye. I know I’d love that gift so I’m sure theres lots of other people who would also love this gift too 🥰
I'm off to check out your tutorial for the oven gloves. I love the way you've put a label on each gift idea too. I think I would like to make a gift for Ruan, the Yorkshire sew girl. She always makes me chuckle.
Hi Tamlyn thank you so much for the lovely gift ideas and I would really like to be able to make something special for my lovely mom as she never had very much herself and always gave what she could to others.
Lovely ideas Tamlyn! I’m definitely going to make the oven gloves 😊 If I could give a gift to anyone it would probably be my Mom and mother in law as they help me out all the time x
HI Tamlyn, as I a subscribed to Sew Hayley Jane as well I have already made some of your ideas, which I by the way, absolutely love. Can't wait for the next one. I will be making a huge warm oodie to wear instead of a dressing gown for my son, who just keeps growing and growing and it will hopefully fit him some time.
I would like to gift my son a girlfriend. He's an ICU nurse, a fabulous cook and has an excellent sense of humour. I know he's not gay so can't figure out why he's single. He's handsome as well! He'd have a fit if he saw this 🤣
My mum has had a pretty tough year, has recently left her partner and is going solo in her new flat. She has been so busy decorating and renovating she hasn’t been sewing at all and I’d love to win this to gift her the advent calendar and give her some inspiration to start sewing and making gorgeous things again ❤
I made my colleagues at work last year face masks, I would love to make them fabric crowns for our Christmas lunch. They all thought it was amazing I could make them something.
Ahh so glad you added the Snood to this, i saw your makes last year and I plan to make them as this years gifts for my family. Especially my mum and dad as they enjoy winter walks with thier new puppy 🐶 😊
I’d like to gift the advent calendar to my son who lives 300 miles away. He would then have to contact me each day in December to find out what the items were! Then of course I would take them all off his hands 😂 x
Hi Tamlyn, I had no idea your tutorials were posted online, so thanks for letting me know! I would love to gift my children a zookeeper for a day experience x
I am making loungewear sets for my 2 daughters and my husband for Christmas for our Friday family film nights!! Love the snood idea. I made cosmetic bags for all their teachers last year with yorkshire soap instead which was cute but there were lots of late nights finishing them all in time🤣!
Wow thanks, you've inspired me to have a go at the oven gloves. I have just the fabric! Thinking about the gift, I would like to go back in time and give my mum a beautiful handmade dress to make her feel special. She had a tough childhood but was a fantastic mum. She used to make us kids clothes but I don't recall her making anything for herself. With thanks
Lovely vlog Tamlyn with some fabulous ideas 🧵 I’d love to gift my Dad and Sister who have passed the chance to spend Christmas with the family one more time 🎄💕💕
Thank you for all the lovely gift ideas. You and Rachel @frenchseams inspired me to make reusable makeup cleaning cloth or pads and also jewellery organiser. I would like to gift them to my 13 year old niece who lives in a different country. I get to see her only over the summer when I go back 'home' once a year. This summer we spent some time talking about and actually sewing together as she showed some interest. Sadly my mum, and my niece's grandmother who used to be a seamstress, is no longer able to sew or even teach my niece how to sew. So hopefully at least I can do a little bit to Inspire her to give it a go.
Some great inspiration for gift ideas Tamlyn, thank you. I enjoy making gifts for my friends and family, this year there is an animal theme to the gifts, some simple garments and practical ones.
Hi Tamlyn, great gift ideas...might have a go at the oven gloves this year. I used your snood idea last year and I think they went down very well 👌😁. I'd like to give a gift to all the carers in the world... of a day at a health spa... wouldn't that be lovely 🙏👍😉😘
All fab gift ideas thanks Tamlyn. I made loads of those snoods and infinity scarfs for family members last year! For my entry into the giveaway I would like to make a gift for my new found Aunties...I'm not sure what I'm making yet, but probably something free motion machine embroidered xx
Ooh! I love the oven gloves, my grandson would love some Marvel themed ones. I’d love to give my mum a gift, the cure for dementia. It’s such a horrible disease for everyone involved ❤❤
Thanks for the Xmas ideas. I would like to sew a gift of a makeup bag for my friend Carol and fill it with well-being goodies. She’s a great friend who has always been there for me. X
Great ideas, Tamlyn. My own "I'd love to make... for..." is to make warm kids clothes for those facing a cold winter and, as I've recently discovered colour blocking is a fab way to make great tops out of little bits of left-over fabric, that's exactly what I'm doing. 😁
I'd give a quilt to my nephew Ned who was only 5 when he left us because we'd all love to wrap him in hugs again.

Lovely gift ideas and still relevant in 2024. I need to make myself a lanyard and one for my daughter as ours broke a little while ago.
Fabulous ideas ❤
I’d love to be able to gift my big brother a photo of all of his nieces and nephews that he never got to meet! ❤
Wonderful ideas Tamlyn and I have news ideas for all those thank you present’s you need all through the year!
I will say I would love to have made something for my mother in law who passed away when she was 52 from cancer. She was always very stylish and I never had the chance to add to her wardrobe xx
I'd make a colourful patchwork quilt for my father who is currently bed-bound. Something cheerful to look at and practical too!
Thanks for the ideas for presents. At the moment I'm making a gift for my daughter, a jersey top in a pretty print and its not even for Christmas. She split up with her first serious boyfriend and I think a parcel from home will give her a boost and remind her we love her.

Great idea’s video Tamlyn. You never cease to amaze me with your ideas, your sewing and your loving spirit! I’m so proud to know you.

I love the neck warmer idea. I have already made oven mitts for my hubby which came out great.
I would love to make my kids Christmas pj's!
Wonderful video as always Tamlyn. I love the fact you give all of Taylor’s nursery teachers a handmade present. Brilliant ideas and what an amazing lady you are sponsoring with a prize. Whoever wins a top made by you is very lucky indeed.
Righteo onto the present, if I could give anything to anyone it would be a VW campervan for my wonderful wife as it would be her dream to own one and make family memories in 🌈 👩👩👦❤
Thank you for running such a fab ‘gift away’ too 😘
I can’t know if I’m interested if I doesn’t know what you’re offering first.
This person doesn't know proper English..she needs to learn that skill before learning your skills😮
Some fantastic ideas Tamlyn. ♥
For the here and now, I'd gift my time to someone who needs a wee bit of TLC, whether it's a bit of chat or sharing my skills with them x
These are really great and so useful, I love the reusable makeup wipes and oven mitts!!! Never thought of those!!!
My daughter who lives with us, in her 40’s. Started her music teacher business about 6 years and works very hard and put up with her parents and dog. I would love to take her on a holiday of a life time as she rarely takes time off.
If I could gift anyone it would be my Daughter a settled life and better mental health, your vlog is so inspiring Tamlyn 🪐 keep aiming for the stars ❤
They were some amazing ideas. Thank you so much for sharing ❤️
Love your gift ideas. I’ve already made up a couple of the double oven mitts for gifts following your instructions. I would love to make my mum one of those cosy neck warmers as she suffers from dementia and feels constantly cold.
Such a lovely collection of gifts! Thanks, Tamlyn x
Thank you Tamlyn for the great gift ideas and the fact that they are easy makes. I may have to sew some up.
I know I’d love that gift so I’m sure theres lots of other people who would also love this gift too 🥰
I would give festive fancy dress to my niece- because seeing her dressed as a reindeer will make everyone else smile (and I am doing this)
I lost my lovely Mam last year. I would love to still have her and make one of your lovely neck warmers for Christmas. It would of kept her so cozy 😍
My grandchildren love to cook with my son, so I’d love to make apron’s and oven gloves for them😊
Lovely ideas Tamlyn! I’m definitely going to make the oven gloves 😊
If I could give a gift to anyone it would probably be my Mom and mother in law as they help me out all the time x
He'd have a fit if he saw this
🤣
My son loves to cook. I will be making him oven gloves in fabric printed with another of his hobbies -cycling
I am making loungewear sets for my 2 daughters and my husband for Christmas for our Friday family film nights!! Love the snood idea. I made cosmetic bags for all their teachers last year with yorkshire soap instead which was cute but there were lots of late nights finishing them all in time🤣!
I'm glad to hear about that Advent Calendar.
With thanks
Fantastic ideas! I'd love to make the neck warmer for my mum 😊 x
Lovely vlog Tamlyn with some fabulous ideas 🧵
I’d love to gift my Dad and Sister who have passed the chance to spend Christmas with the family one more time 🎄💕💕
Thank you for all the lovely gift ideas.
I love making things for my wee boy and I get lots of inspiration from your makes for Taylor!
Some great inspiration for gift ideas Tamlyn, thank you. I enjoy making gifts for my friends and family, this year there is an animal theme to the gifts, some simple garments and practical ones.
I know I'm wayching this a year later, but these gifts are going to be great to make this year as well! THANKS so much & God bless you & yours!❤
Thank you for all the ideas. Have happy holidays.
I’m going to make Star Wars oven gloves for my son because he loves both star wars and cooking!
Great ideas 😊 I'd like to make a baby quilt for one of my best friends as she's just about to give birth to her second beautiful baby ❤️😍
I would love to make an outfit for princess Diana that she would design and choose the fabric and come for fittings. I adored her. ❤
I love all of your ideas. I will most likely make all of the items eventually.
Great ideas, Tamlyn. My own "I'd love to make... for..." is to make warm kids clothes for those facing a cold winter and, as I've recently discovered colour blocking is a fab way to make great tops out of little bits of left-over fabric, that's exactly what I'm doing. 😁
