My son bought me a sewing machine 5 years ago and I never used it. I now have a 2 year old granddaughter and I want to learn how to sew her clothes ❤! Thank you!!!!
I have a 9 month old grandson and he's really gotten me back into sewing since i needed a specific sized play pen mat. I made the mat and then soft squares and then pacifier clips which has led me into learning to quilt and I've made 4 throw quilts for friends and family in the past month and I'm addicted. I've got a rag quilt I'm going to make him and a few quilts for my mom's nurses.
So awesome!!! Thank you so much for these great ideas! I had actually been thinking of doing the pillow case and pj bottoms! Probably from flannel! Joann Fabrics has some really cute flannel prints! My granddaughter also has mentioned wanting her own apron. She's 6 yrs old. So I'm going to get a simple pattern for that. I think she'll love having her own apron! Thank you again! Dixie
Yep- he was the best ❤️. He has been with Jesus now almost 2 years. 5-8-22. I miss him every day. He was so supportive of my sewing and RUclips journey- I try to make him proud of me with my continued efforts.
As long as my hubby and I have been together, he has always given me “stuffies” that would be meaningful to me. We now have 8 grand babies and they have all been passed down to them. The stuffie ball is an amazing idea. I may have to make one for my daughter who has 4 of the 8 grand babies. P
I’m so glad I found you .You lovely voice and that you for sharing your Top 10 I’ve see in the past but I’m still a beginner.Im looking forward to see many new things.and will be looking for your videos.Bless You
I have 8 grand babies ranging from almost 11 yrs old to 2 yrs old. My daughter has the 11, 7, 5, 2. My son has a daughter age 6 and my son and dil have 3 girls 7, 5, and 9 mo. old. I started teaching myself to sew the minute I found out about our 1st grand baby. I have loved every minute of every stitch! One thing I struggle with is sewing for my daughters 2 boys.
Thank you for your lovely video. I have the latest state of art Janome memory craft embroidery computerised machine that my 3 grown children helped to pay for my combined birthday and Mother’s Day gift of $3,500. I’ve had it 2 years and hardly used it as I’ve had two total knee replacements on the same knee which caused so many falls, breaking my neck, multiple ribs and concussions and other injuries and I’m in pain 24/7. This has caused isolation from going out and depression because I am in so much pain I need home help. My machine has a button to sew and a foot but I can’t use the foot with my injured knee so the button is very handy. You have given me inspiration to sew for my 2 year old granddaughter and as she is a very precious IVF baby I bought the machine for that. My other Janome memory craft embroidery machine was over 30 years old and I was told if the mother board goes it couldn’t be replaced as they don’t have spare parts anymore. I used that for my kids growing up and making mikes of curtains for various houses so it really paid for itself. I also have a Janome 4 thread overlocker which has been used to death but it’s a bit hard to thread. I would love to change it but I doubt I can afford to. Any tutorials on overlocking use would be helpful too please. My daughter will be trying for another baby soon. Before I had the both surgeries I made all the cot sheets, swaddle Blankets bibs and other Baby needs. Then I had the surgery and everything came to a standstill. I really love the idea of that stuffy and I’d love to make that, and I have joined your Facebook group as I think you are a lovely lady and even though I live alone and on a very tight pension, I would really like to thank you from the bottom of my heart for doing these videos for people like me that can’t afford patterns. God bless you and I will follow you always for the lovely unselfish lady that you are many thanks once again.🙏🏼🤗🔥🌸🌺👶🏻
I made the stuffy ball for my 2 year old granddaughter and she LOVE it. She is busy putting her animals in and out all the time :) . She feels so important doing a good job. Then we zip it up and she can sit and rest hahaha
My mother is Dorothy, so I too am a Dorothy's daughter- and she taught me how to sew! I also have a six-pack of grandkids, similar ages to yours, but mine are all girls. I'm glad I found your channel. I like the variety of sewing related content you share. :-D
I’m glad I’ve stumbled upon your video .Your lovely voice and for sharing your 10 patterns.Ive see in the past but not much.Do I’ll say I’m a beginner.I love all the grandchildren patterns you post. And will like to join your Facebook group for more help with sewing Bless you Snd your Family
Love the video & info re the patterns you use. For my granddaughter Izzy, as a toddler I used New Look 6578. More recently, New Look 6205 & most used New Look 6504 which I have made loads of and made them reversible - so easy.
For Christmas one year I made my grandkids drawstring pillowcases so they could put their pj’s and favorite stuffed animal in it and take pillow and all for sleepovers
Kim what a wonderful video! Thank you for all your recommendations. I have started to do more sewing my 6 grandkids and have been delighted with the result and their reactions. I can't wait to do more sewing for them and you have given me some wonderful ideas! Thank you!
I love sewing for my eleven grandchildren. I make them matching classic PJs for Christmas. I make a summer outfit: a dress for the girls, a camp shirt for the boys.
I enjoyed the top 10 and have asked my grandkids to list their top 3 characters. I would love to see videos of you doing the stuffy ball and the pillow case pajamas.
Most of my Littles have Littles and some of those are about ready to start a new generation.. I do have young people in my life who grow up and have children and I would enjoy giving them nice things that I can afford.
I love sewing for my family, but especially the kids! Last year I told my daughter that I wasn’t going to “make” Christmas gifts for the grandkids because I was pretty sure they’d rather have something bought. She got kinda upset with me, and proceeded to tell me how much her boys love everything I’ve made them! She also let me know that they use/play with everything I make them. I do have a tendency these days to wait until Oct/Nov to make gifts, and that’s just not enough time for me these days with all of my health issues. Nevertheless I’m currently plugging away trying to get many gifts done before Christmas right now!
Another awesome video, thank you! I made my grandson a couple of the Butterick 5510 dress shirts a few months ago, they were adorable on him. Have also made the Geranium dress, love that pattern.
My favorite baby gift is an Angel blanket for bringing the baby home from the hospital. It is a baby weight fleece blanket in a pastel with white satin wings appliqués on it. Time consuming to make, but a real Wow present for a by shower for a special person.
Do you have a favorite knit dress pattern? My little wants to wear dresses and gravitates to knits I’ve purchased. She’s getting so tall now they’ve turned into tunics on her. She doesn’t seem to like the twirly skirts. In watching her play and flit from thing to thing, it’s just too much fabric that gets in the way. Also, do you have suggestions on a good knit fabric wise that holds up without continuing to shrink. Thanks!
Love this video. So useful! I love the Ellie and Mac Transformer jacket and have made for kids and adults. I have done a full vlog about it. Please look it up and you can see how it turned out for adults too!!
It is the curved hem tee- a free pattern from Ellie & Mac www.ellieandmac.com/products/curved-hem-pocket-tank-pattern?_pos=1&_sid=0f6972a09&_ss=r/?aff=1601
Looking for neat gifts to kids? definitely don't pass on educational books especially tailor made versions of it ( *personalised childrens books* ) as that's something you can expose to them at an early age and be beneficial for their growth
You might want to stop pounding the counter and flailing your hands around. Both of these accentuate your unease at being recorded, and detract from your content.

“Every stitch is a hug” best quote of the year. I love that 💜💙🧡
Awwwe I wish you lived next door to me. LOL
Well I see you already have a belaro sweater. See I am always trying to help. But you are more crafty than my.

My favorite baby gift is an Angel blanket for bringing the baby home from the hospital. It is a baby weight fleece blanket in a pastel with white satin wings appliqués on it. Time consuming to make, but a real Wow present for a by shower for a special person.
I couldn’t find the Corgi pattern. Please send link. Thank you.
this is great information-- I wish you would do a sewalong or in-depth review of the kids' backpack... I need to make one but am intimidated. lol
I’ll see if I can get permission from the designer to do that :-)

Small stuffies that fits in pockets, I'd love that.
Such a great vlog Kim! I love sewing for my little grandkids and the Stuffie is a brilliant idea! Definitely on the birthday list! 😍❤️
Are these patterns only available in America
They should be available anywhere, since most of them are in downloadable pdf format. I know many in the UK that have sewn these patterns.
Dorothy’s Daughter thank you
How can I get the pattern
Which one? I believe I have linked all the patterns down in the description. If not, let me know, and I’ll post the link here.
Have you ever made a reading pillow? and then get a personalized book
I have not, but I have a tutorial for one saved to make for my granddaughter
Couldn’t log in. There must be an easier way to print patterns
I’m from Ohio too
😀
Looking for neat gifts to kids? definitely don't pass on educational books especially tailor made versions of it ( *personalised childrens books* ) as that's something you can expose to them at an early age and be beneficial for their growth
I wish you could’ve gone in more detail about the patterns. It wasn’t clear enough.
Way too much talk.
Tooo much introducing .... and too much chit chat ...
