I LOVED your discussion on intentional gift-giving! The key is to figure out what the *recipient* wants or needs. Sadly, I see so many crafters feeling dejected at the end of the holiday season because people didn't appreciate their handmade gifts... but I've found, not everyone *wants* handmade products to begin with - some people like showing off their brand names, and to each their own! I'll keep sewing for myself anyway, and the family/friends who like handmade. 😁 I love all the gift suggestions! Cheers! ✨
Thank you so much for all the lovely feedback! I totally agree. We all like, want, and need different things and there’s no sense spending time and money on an item that the person won’t appreciate. Good luck with any holiday sewing projects you have planned! 💗
Sometimes the recipient is a minimalist or has a specific decor or clothing style. I’ve quit trying to make gifts without asking first. It is depressing, though, since I’ve always tried to be thoughtful about it.
Haha yea the older I get, the more I understand how stressful the holiday season can be for so many different reasons. This year, I found that making gifts was less stressful than buying them, but in a different year with different circumstances, it could be totally opposite and maybe I’d rather save my time and buy gifts or experiences instead. It’s all so personal, so don’t feel bad at all if you can’t make gifts this year. Sometimes I like to resort to “buying an experience.” For example; my parents and I are making candles and Christmas dinner together this Christmas. I’m really looking forward to it and I think it will be more memorable than opening gifts 🎁 💗
Ideas for things I might be making this year (though I haven’t finalized all my plans, so it’s a longer list than it should be): - a dice bag for DND - microwave rice heating pad for bad cramps - soft gloves that are comfy to wear at night (for a sibling who has very poor circulation) - storage bag for crochet hooks (for someone who currently keeps them in a ziploc bag) - wall organizer for things like keys, wallet, earbuds, etc. - cord organizer (for all cords/chargers/etc. that aren’t currently in use around the house) - dog poop bag holder (since they are so easily broken and/or lost) I love your silk/satin pillowcase idea! I don’t know why it never occurred to me to make them myself, rather than trying to find a decent one that isn’t ridiculously expensive. Excellent ideas! I’ll have to look up your instructions for that zero waste bag, it’s very cute!
Thank you so much! I definitely did a lot of research to make sure I could provide as much value as possible. In the past, I found that a lot of the suggestions in similar videos weren't items that people in my life would actually want, so it was fun to bring my own perspective to the conversation
Thhis is an amazing video! Your presentation is so professional and the ideas are so well thought out, I can't believe you don't have thousands of likes. I look forward to watching more of your content.
So many good ideas here! A silk pillowcase and eye mask would be such a luxurious gift! 🧡 thanks for including the penny pullover! I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t planning on gifting it this holiday season!
Wow thank you so much for the kind words and encouragement to continue. I’ve really been loving making videos for you all and I have so many ideas up my sleeve. I can’t wait to share more with you 💗
If you are making a square or rectangular wall hanging, you don't have to use bias binding. That is necessary for curves, but not from straight lines. Just simple 2" to 2.5" wide fabric folded in half works just fine.
Hi! The silk crossbody was an inspo picture, but I’d recommend checking out the new tutorial by @TheEssentialsClub where Maddy shows you how to draft and sew a similar design. It would look so so lovely in a silk or satin material and you can extend the strap to the length you’d like 💗 ruclips.net/video/TEPmaEOfohk/видео.html
@@carmellaschwab4339 you’re so welcome! Thank you for the kind words 💗 I hope you have so much fun making that silk bag. It’s going to turn out beautiful!

I’m making personalised suit/garment bags for the professional men in my life. Easy pattern and always useful.
Oooh that’s awesome! Thank you for sharing!
So many gifts to sew videos are a rehash of previous years. You have included a fresh take on a few and some new ones too.

I was thinking the same thing. Scrunchies, cosmetic bags and pot holders have been done.
THISSSSS whole list!!! Is so good!!! I’m a very intentional gift person so this list is *right* up my alley
Yay! I’m so glad you enjoyed it ❤️
Kind of want to make everything here for myself 🙄 Thank you for the inspiration!

I think it is personal choice. I love working with bias binding.
I do the same. Of course, muscle memory wants to cut bias, so it’s not big deal in the long run.
I´m starting now!!!!!!!!!!!!! loved your video!
Thank you!! And wow! Love an early bird 😍🥰
I see the puffer tote link but was there a link for the little silk knot crossbody? Love that design so elegant!!!!
