    In my headcanon, Warwick, the Castle, and Spectacle Island form a defensive network called the Iron Triangle, essentially operating as a single decentralized base. Warwick is fairly easy to fortify, with two tough, reinforced concrete buildings, and the approach to the location is over open ground. Warwick and the Castle are close enough to mutually support each other with artillery, making them very difficult to assault. Spectacle Island, behind them, has lots of space for farming and fishing, and can run boats to the two forts to keep them supplied in case of siege.

    Very nice and clean. I like it. I saw a comment recently where someone was complaining about players building with rotten wood and rusty metal and everyone was still living surrounded by piles of trash. That commentor has obviously not seen any of your videos. I watched your Starlight and Red rocket builds yesterday, now this one and I see Kingston Lighthouse on my recommended list, so that one will be next. BTW I subscribed after watching the first one. Like Mama Murphy, I see great things for your sub count once the fans of FO4 find your vids. Well done.

    This is why Settlement Attacks Beyond is an absolutely essential mod, alongside the Unofficial patch and the one that stops radiant quests from the Commonwealth sending you to Far Harbor or Nuka World.

    You don't have to go endgame Institute to unlock Warwick. You can unlock it at any time by doing a short fetch quest for Mrs Warwick. A quest that incidentally introduces you to The Coolest Faction In The Commonwealth.

      It can also be unlocked via a minute man Radiant quest. Yup that's right another settlement need your help. In my first play through this was the fourth settlement I was sent to. The fifth was the one in the far southwest near the glowing ocean. I had those two and jamaica planes before I had sunshine starlight or grey garden.

    This is actually a really good build. At first I thought it look overkill but it make sense. There's actually a maintenance room across the walkway, nothing much in there tbh. I just put extra bed and leave like that.
    Just like the Castle, Warwick settlements only had 1 spawn so it's easily defendable.

    Best part of Warwick homestead is any Settlement attacks all spawn on the single path of dirt leading to the settlement. You can set up rocket turrets half way between where you spawn and where they spawm, and its one of the easiest settlement defenses ever since 6 rocket turrets will decimate any group that pops up.
    I remember a dozen super mutants popped up, heard the screech of my turrets activating, and the giant ball of explosions with super mutant parts flying everywhere a second later...
    Also concrete pillars snap really well and can mesh into the guard rail to make it look nicer.

    Always interesting to see build sites with more of the default structures in place.
    Didn't know about the gourds. If it doesn't produce noodle cups or veggie starch...I get rid of it & don't plant more. Still nice to see options should I ever play a normal game. Extensive building becomes more of a challenge for me in survival runs.
    It takes longer to get things in place to make money to buy shipments of goods, and by the time that happens there are already plenty of settlers in place.

    Great settlement. It does indeed look like the inhabitants are trying to build the foundation for a better life.
    1 question- I've found that the MG turrets I build here often spawn as mk VII, explosive, which can perma-kill settlers should they get downed in an area of continued crossfire.
    How do you prevent the MG turrets from slaughtering your population if attackers get into close range?
    The greenhouse is not only beautifully done, in a real world scenario it would probably be the only way to easily farm that close to the ocean. Being on a narrow peninsula the entire area is constantly saturated with salt spray, so any dirt would probably be very difficult to farm. The enclosed greenhouse would prevent the soil from getting salt saturated, and also help regulate the temperature to mitigate the chilling effect of being that close to the ocean during the crop-killing Massachusetts winter.

      I've never had the problem with explosive turrets. they are never supposed to explode because they are supposed to be repairable in the event of a failed defense. strange.

    • @KumieZoomie
      @KumieZoomie Год назад +2

      @@Theegreygaming I mean the mkVII fires explosive rounds, and settlers can be perma-killed by explosive damage, rather than just taking a knee

      (sorry for all the text Kumar, but this will help if you still need it, I got a couple thousand hours on this game)
      I wouldn't use MG's at Warwick, go with heavy laser - enemies get stronger the further south and east you are, and this is the End Boss of settlements. Honestly, I've even used Missile Turrets here (only place I will), dangerous but if enemies die fast enough it's fine - I just don't build too close to the front fence because that's where they spawn (cosmetic building is fine, nothing functional to attract people). With missile turrets I add a wall further inside the borders. More turrets may also help you, the problem could be that there just aren't enough explosions and the settlers are getting there too fast.
      Another option is to armor up your settlers (add blast protection if need be) or equip them with sniper rifles so they stay back and shoot. Last of all there's always the "don't spawn" trick - ignore any attacks so that nothing physically spawns in and nobody can die. There's only a 2% chance of attack per settlement each week if you have the defense cap of 150, and the settlers repair all the damage to turrets and crops on their own (usually within a week) if you don't help them (the pipboy will lie and show damage, that's a known issue).
      Warwick's notorious for being a pain to defend, it really is different to other settlements - way higher level enemies, more of them and a super close spawn point with no cover to attract the AI. Finally: A cool little tip for Warwick is to re-build the ramps across the tops of the big sewage vat - there's a room at the back of the main building you can access that way, and settlers will path there correctly once there's a path built, so people can sleep there. I always build water purifiers inside the vats too, but that's just me :)

    Man you’re making me want to get back into fallout, unfortunate you didn’t catch the bit on the wall, one would think they’d be sure to have the attackers spawn outside of the build area so players wouldn’t have to worry about using the whole space.

    It's been a year since recent comments, but I thought I'd ask. I can't get the happiness up here. The owned beds in the main room show an actor value of 0, and I can't seem to disable them. I spent time building a vast roof umbrella over the top, because people said there just has to be a roof somewhere over them, but that didn't work. any advice?

    • @Theegreygaming
      @Theegreygaming  6 месяцев назад

      that sounds like a bug. as far as I know, the beds inside the structure are useable and marked as covered. you can try "mark for delete" to get rid of them if they can't be disabled but so far any unscrappable beds I've tried to get rid of have be fine with disable.
