@@richbunnell7426 Yeah, you can't target body fat like you do muscles, it's crazy that people still believe you can and wonder why all those core excercises don't get rid of fat the way they thought it would. He's right about training the stomach muscles so they begin tightening and giving you a slimmer stomach but the fat is largely still there.
@@richbunnell7426 luckily people have known for as long as we've existed that eating too much makes you fat and eating less makes you lose fat. Which is what he said.

It’s not as hard as it sounds but you shouldn’t start with 200 if you can’t. Push to 50 for a couple of weeks then to 75 then to 100. You’ll notice your stomach giving away and making it easier to let you push for more.
12:20 For me "I'll be back" is his best line, not just because it's so iconic as it's his most used line, but because of what it means. No matter what happens in your life, whatever setback, defeat, injury or failure you face, it's affirmation of willpower to overcome these obstacles & prevail.

@Hawaii Hustler Most people won't destroy their muscles to the point of needing 2 days of rest when you're doing crunches, sit ups, leg raises, twists and especially a plank. You can plank every single day for 2 minutes (not that long), it's just a good thing to do to build your core. As for cardio and weightlifting, if you're doing cardio then that's ok every day since it gets your heart rate up. But weights, if you're constantly pushing to failure then the 2 day wait is good; what I do is break up upper body, arms and legs into the first 3 days of the week and I'm constantly pushing for more weight, then on Thursday I come back and do upper body (since I'm working on my pecs more than anything) and rest Friday-Sunday. Combine all of that with a good diet and you should be golden. I'm 30 btw, so my metabolism started dropping 5 years ago, but I'm still down a little over 90 pounds in the past year. A good regimen really works.

I love what Arnold says about upright alignment/posture and about being conscious of your abs ('the stomach'). I see so many people walking around hunched over, hinged forward at the hip or with shoulders rounded forward and their heads stuck way out in front of the shoulders. (And they walk looking down at their feet all the time!) Being well aligned is so essential to wellbeing. Arnold really knows his stuff!
This is how I lost 27 pounds and gained muscle in three months I swear guys it works: -Stay on a slight caloric deficit (Eat well, healthy and DIVERSIFIED but stay on a caloric deficit). -Eat a lot and I mean A LOT of proteins. -Limit carbs (don't cut them off completely watch out!) -ABSOLUTELY DON'T cut healthy fats! Do as much cardio as you can it is primordial if you want to loose fat if you skip it or limit it you won't loose it quickly (When you'll reach your goal then you can limit it). -Do twice as much weight lifting as you do cardio and lift heavy. -Do 4/20 or minimum 6/18 intermittent fasting at least 3 days per week. -Walk a lot (to the grocery store, to the gym or just go out for a stroll for example) -Train at least 5 times a week -Don't think about a cheat meal. Believe me guys I went from 21% body fat to 17% and I gained muscle in three months doing this

Tremendous respect for Arnold; from a foreign body-builder who literally and singlehandedly brought bodybuilding into the mainstream. Arnold used his focus and discipline to become an "A" list actor in Hollywood in films ranging from comedy to action-drama. Arnold broadened his brand and married into the "royal family" of politics in the 1960s - 1980s which set him up to become Governor of California. Arnold, whether you agree with his politics or not is an American success story.
I am 71. Been working out since I was 14. My waist is 31" at 5'7" & 150lbs. One way to look at it is think in terms of Volume. The larger the volume of food and liquid you put in your stomach, the larger the stomach becomes. Couple that with the relentless pull of gravity 24/7 day after day, year after year. Gravity is not kind to people that are overweight, rather that excess weight is fat or muscle. Don't give gravity any more mass then is necessary to stay healthy. Arnold is right as usual. The whole idea behind fitness, health and longevity is control. Learn to control what you eat, how much you eat, how much you exercise and how much you rest. If you want to avoid all the pitfalls of aging then it is important to take charge of your health from all aspects. Granted ... their are no guarantees but it is my belief that it is worth the effort :)!

I’m glad he mentioned pulling the stomach in because almost no one trains those specific muscles that pull the stomach in instead of the 6 pack exercises only. I started doing that and in no time at all it started working.
got surprised that it worked for me. Ofc "200 crunches" is impossible for a beginner. But i've continued doing in my own rythm and lost my "8 month male pregnant belly"
Stomach vacuums are the shit! I never had a waist before, straight up & down unless pulling in. Now 3 months built up to 4 minutes 2x a week, with lower calories, I've lost 2" off my waist. This stuff works I swear by them now😍

Arnold is right... I've been doing multiple stomach vacuums at the club just the other night... every time a lady passed by... You work out where you can.
Arnold's beginner's advice: start slow, nor rush, no more than 3 sets of 10 reps per exercise 3 sets of curls 3 sets of tire triceps extensions 3 sets of shoulder press 3 sets of squats and so on for the basic set of body building exercise - don't over do it. soon you will notice over time some body parts respond fast, some slow once growth progress stops continue with 3 sets for the fast responding parts, and raise to 5-6sets the slow responding parts
Arnold is one cool dude, a very personable and likable guy. He is inspirational. I truly admire the guy not only for his personable achievements, but as a celebrity for his humbleness and his ability to relate with people in an affable and social way. Arnold makes a fantastic points here about mindfulness and its role in keeping our ab muscles (actually all muscles) toned and flat. Through posture, and mindfulness about it throughout the day, tucking and tensing my muscles, I've been slowly regaining my sixpack and strengthening my lower back at the same time. For the record, I'm going to be 63 this year and I can still take a punch in the stomach.
Very well done man! So many people neglect the chest and core. You can do more with a stronger core. I start my day with planking and push ups. Stay gold!

Arnold is an amazing man! Instead of gloating and being prideful. He is being humble, sincere, and very helpful. His story is always incredible, man I need to get back to working out. There is no excuses.
Arnold Schwarzenegger is not just a titan of the body-building world, or of the movie business, or a successful businessman and political leader. He's mastered the art of living life well. His attitude is so great, it always has been - it is one of the things which has always set him apart. His belief in himself, in his dreams and in the possibilities of life. Sure, he's made plenty of mistakes, even some embarrassing ones - but show me someone of his stature who hasn't. Arnold never feared failing; he always dusted himself off, learned what he could, and then got back to work. You won't find a more-important lesson in life - as long as you get up one more time than you have been knocked down, you'll be OK. What a great man!
Arnold was a very motivated person-- I am referring to his bodybuilding, but his personal life is a mess. I don't think there is much positive in the way he lives/ has lived his life. I will give him credit for being a successful businessman, though.
I was surprised at the depth of knowledge and the way that he shared his advice. Very humble, no big movie star attitude, just a guy sharing his extensive knowledge and experience with honesty.
Take a bow to a traitor?? Lol don't forget during "koved" he did say screw your freedom. He's a puppet and a fraud. Us in the medical field know and understand what this pandemic was. Anyways, don't bow to a coward and traitor please

His issues with squats is so relatable to me. I constantly struggle with them and him admitting it him self inspires me. My squat is terrible but better. My bone structure in my knees and hip crappy. I also have a pituitary adenoma that messes up my hormones and I take meds for it. It almost made me give up. I have to really push my self to make any kind of progress. I won't give up.
I bought his encyclopaedia of modern bodybuilding at age 18, I'm 50 now and still admire Arnold as I did back then, he is a true champion in every aspect of life! The best ever bodybuilder by far and an amazing person too, nobody is perfect but he's close enough, hats off to him!!

Yup! People who walk upright properly have stature and a commanding presence.
This is how I lost 27 pounds and gained muscle in three months I swear guys it works:
-Stay on a slight caloric deficit (Eat well, healthy and DIVERSIFIED but stay on a caloric deficit).
-Eat a lot and I mean A LOT of proteins.
-Limit carbs (don't cut them off completely watch out!)
-ABSOLUTELY DON'T cut healthy fats!
-Walk a lot (to the grocery store, to the gym or just go out for a stroll for example)
-Train at least 5 times a week
-Don't think about a cheat meal.
Believe me guys I went from 21% body fat to 17% and I gained muscle in three months doing this
I have to remember this ....
msmontana1961 shakes buddy and if you you don’t want any bs shakes or if you don’t digest diary well ( which most companies are ) then try garden of life try consuming the amount of protein for each lb you are so ex if you 200 200 pounds of protein yet it isn’t so hard when you’re drinking a shake with 30g each serving. Repeat like x5 a day with your regular meals and you will be shredding in no time
@@msmontana1961 then try to eat 3 extra meals with fish and broccoli.. 100 grams of fish and 125 grams of brocolli.. these are both very little in calories and you can digest them easy

Arnold's beginner's advice: start slow, nor rush, no more than 3 sets of 10 reps per exercise
3 sets of curls
3 sets of tire triceps extensions
3 sets of shoulder press
3 sets of squats
and so on for the basic set of body building exercise - don't over do it.
soon you will notice over time some body parts respond fast, some slow
once growth progress stops continue with 3 sets for the fast responding parts, and raise to 5-6sets the slow responding parts
