Yeah, I saw that leg blaster advertised in Flex, along with the slogan, "Legs like Zane," but never got it. I called on an ad for Mike Mentzer's training books in Flex and expected to speak to a secretary. Instead, Mike answered the phone himself, and I talked to him for a while. He was out of breath from running upstairs to the phone, he said, so I kidded him about how his heavy-duty approach needed more cardio, like stair stepping. hehe He was a heavy dude too -- into Ann Rand and objectivism. (He was dead a couple of years later. )

Unawareness, 2. Penchant for corruption, and they apparently are frequently compromised. Self-actualization is the pinnacle of life, and very admirable. (Frank is a teacher, that's great!)

I just wanted to be a better me, and I lost that mind set after raising 3 children sent them through school. Now I'm back on track, eating right and working out. Good Luck in this part of your life and journey with your search to find that you were created by a much higher power after him, who loves you. Life is always better when you are healthy and happy.

I’m sorry John, I’m a personal trainer. Im 32 now and I’ve seen it all. This guy was not natural. Admittedly he was never doing lots of roids, but he was definitely doing it on occasions. Remember, the competitions he entered weren’t drug tested. I know it’s hard information to take in because he’s an idol of yours. I have amongst the best natural genetics of the people I’ve met and I could never look like Frank. I really do feel sorry for people because we are constantly deceived by others. Remember Frank had a reputation to uphold, perhaps he once told his wife etc that he’s natural and now has to keep to that story. Take care

Frank Zane talking about criticism he got in 1982 for coming in too big shows you how much body building has changed since then. Now it's all about the mass monsters. It's not that symmetry and definition are completely irrelevant now, they've just slipped down the line of importance when it comes to the stage. Fortunately there is Classic Physique now, but most of the top competitors today in that division would have a tough time even making the top 5 during the Frank Zane era.

The guys from Frank's era are the guys I think looked the best throughout the years as they were still healthy looking. I was six feet tall and very lean from my boxing training, and Frank was the best guy I could aspire to look like. Thats the build I was always after and once I stopped boxing, which was a ton of cardio I was able to put on muscle size in my basement with a cheap old York plastic weight set. After gaining the confidence to hit a public gym, and realizing the possibilities I started following others along with Zane. I had narrow shoulders mainly from genetics so was able to follow Larry Scott's advice on that issue, and a few others like Gary Strydom and Shawn Ray on shoulder training, I was able to make the gains that had eluded me to that point. I spent hours looking and reading through muscle mags at the time and Gaspari, Haney, Shawn Ray, Strydom, Mike Christian and the rest were all battling it out for the Olympia title. Those were good days and thanks to Frank Zane, Sergio, Arnold, Samir, Roy Callender, Waller, Mike Quinn, and of course, Lee Haney for their advice and training techniques. Later I became a big fan of Dorian Yates and his training techniques which were a far cry from Frank's routines, but very effective. I walked on stage eventually at 6' 218lbs in contest shape, then followed up with a Highland Games Athlete at 6' 275lbs on a frame built for a person more in the area of 175-180lbs. lol Thanks for all the tips and advice Frank, it was very much appreciated over the years. Regards.
