Morning Taria, great video, like you my first awareness of an urban sketcher was Liz Steel! I loved he looseness. I'm a retired cartographer/graphic designer. I am too tight as a sketcher and need to loosen up. I have only subscribed to you recently, but love your work, it's an amazing inspiration to me. I will start following the other artists you have featured. Thank you. I particularly love the artist from Liverpool, what a talent!. Take care with your travels. I ride a motorbike and would also love to travel the world and sketch. To late I'm aftaid. I was born in Uganda and hope travel there soon and perhaps sketch if I find the time!. I am very much a beginner, thanks again Taria. Pete (UK) Keep it up.
Thanks for your suggestions, some of the artists you mentioned were new to me! I started having fun with sketching and watercolors a few months ago, admiring these sketches always makes me want to take pen and brushes and learn something new 😊... And I have sooooo much to learn! 😂
Yes me too! All I need to do is look at sketches by fabulous artists like these and it just makes me want to sketch all the time! I’m glad you found and enjoyed the video 😊
Excellent video! I love all these artists, and learned about a few new ones as well. I also went to Instagram to find you, and realized I had already followed you at some point! Anyway, thanks for all the work you put into this, including the link to the Captain Tom podcast interview, which I am really excited to hear. He is my sketching hero.
Awesome! Thank you! Yes, I really enjoyed that Captain Tom interview. There's not much about him on the inter webs so it was a great discovery as I LOVE his work so so much. I have a book of his waiting for me in the UK. It's been there for over a year now and I still haven't been able to get back to look at it!! Can't wait. Maybe I should do a little video flip through when I get it :)
Great compilation, Taria! I hadn’t heard of a few of these artists, and am now following on Instagram. I also love Felix, Liz and Lapin, such inspiring styles, and all so different as you say! Really enjoying your channel and content :)
Thanks for that! I was aware of most of those artists, but I did pick up a few new ones to follow 👍 Glad I found this video as well, thanks to Teoh Yi Chie @parkablogs
Ah that’s great, yes most are well know but glad you found a few new ones. I’m a huge fan of Teoh! Watching his sketchbook tours many years back really got me into urban sketching (as well as other stuff) - that’s awesome that’s how you found this video - did he mention it in one of his videos? I’d love to know which one so I can check it out 😊
Yes, sorry about that! The podcast is called Drawing Inspiration - here is the link: drawinginspiration.fm/podcast/17-two-artists-in-a-truck-urban-sketching-with-captain-tom/
