@@MarcTRussell Hi Marc - I actually made a video on how I turn my sketches into prints, you can find it here: ruclips.net/video/k9R0r8HNdoI/видео.html - I just scan them super high resolution, clean up & sharpen in photoshop and then position the illustration on the right sized (canvas i.e. paper size - like 8 x 10 inches for example) in photoshop and send a very large high-quality file to a printer that prints on watercolour paper. I hope that helps? Feel free to ask further Qs - happy to share what I know!
Thank you for the great infovideo, I appreciate that you don't talk too fast. The good lady thinks I am selectively deaf, but some comes naturally lol. Urban sketching sounds interesting.
I really enjoy listening to you, watching your process and most of all, learning from all that you share. Your book is definitely on my list of things that I need.
I think I've made a good choice. I seem to have very similar equipment, Moleskine, Arches, Rosemary and Escoda brushes. The only difference is the choice of watercolours. I use Schmincke but I have the same style of small palette. I found some good 4B leads for my mechanical pencil.
Nice!! I really want to try Schmincke watercolours out...they're on my radar. The St Petersburg were just such a good price it was a no brainer to try them out :)
@@tarias_sketchy_adventures Yes I've used White Nights products before, the watercolour pads are also decent quality and very reasonable. If you ever do any workshops in the Stuttgart area, it would be nice to come along.
Sonnet watercolours are also high quality Russian ones! I just bought from Amazon the Sonnet set with 21 full pans in metal box. They are little bit sheaper than White Nights (I have them too). My set was 26€.
Teoh recommended your channel to me and I’m going to focus on urban sketches/watercolor with my next sketchbook! I’m going to check out your Skillshare class too, so excited! Your style is lovely :)
I’m so glad you came over to the channel to check it out 😊 I don’t actually have any Skillshare classes (yet) but Teoh has quite a few! Thanks so much for checking out my video and glad you enjoyed it!
Thanks for all this great information about art supplies. I guess I will try the fountain pen soon... About what you said about pencils I wonder if you have ever tried leadholder / clutch pencils? What do you think about them as the lead is thicker (2 mm) compared to a mechanical pencil (0.5 to 1 mm) and therefore doesn’t scratch the paper so much. One thing I like is that there normally is some kind of sharpening device in the other end, so no need of carrying of an extra sharpener. Even different mines can be bought (f. ex. HB, B2, colours, ...) Thanks again for your videos. Claudia
Hi...I enjoyed this video, seeing some of the little variations of kit you use. Also, it was the first video I saw of yours, as I've just come across your channel, so I subscribed. That's the rest of my afternoon gone then!
Very nice supplies! I use a Lamy safari for ink sketches would like to try the TWSBI Eco but I find it too vulnerable for transport. Thanks for sharing this video.
Thank you Marc! I find the TWSBI ECO preferable to the Lamy Safari for sketching, and its ink capacity, it also seems to get less clogged / the ink dries up less. Whenever I go to draw with the TWSBI, it works, but the Lamy not so much, I always need to do something to get it going again. I'm very curious about the TWSBI being too vulnerable to travel with, why's that? (I haven't travelled with mine yet)! Thanks so much for watching and commenting! :)
Just a tip. If you are trying to get an item sharp in the camera, don't look in the camera yourself as the camera will focus on your eyes and you never get the items sharp 😉
Thank you so much!! I really hope you enjoy it! I was not very good at art at all at school, somewhere around the age of 26 I had a strong desire to learn how to draw and start making art. I have been practising every day since! I'm now 34 and making art every day is my happy place :)
Agreed - I think I bought them when they were on sale at Jacksons Art - looking at the price of them now, I think they were an excellent deal a few years back!
That's fantastic, thank you so much. I hope you find lots of inspiration there. Do check out urbansketchingworld.com too for even more inspiration and tutorials :)
Thank you! Oh, Im sorry about that - in the video description, I have a section called Connect With Me which lists my website, Instagram, and shop! Maybe you missed it? :) Either way thanks so much for subscribing! I'll make sure I let people know I am a bit better in future :D
Hi Christine, no not taught by him, although I am a fan of his! I think every now and again I do a sketch that has a similar style but not really intentionally, it just sometimes comes out that way! I was supposed to attend a workshop with him in Germany in August 2020 but unfortunately I could not get there because of the Covid restrictions.

What is the process of getting your work printed? Is it scanned, or do you recreate it in a way that it can become a book?

I don't know about other people but I am only here to enjoy you and your painting , don't need inspiration just watching and enjoying the process
11:00 St Petersburgh watercolor paints are brutally awesome, even the Sonnet set is fantastic, and their prices are unbeatable.

White Nighs are good but I don't like their weak yellow ochre or their superstaining black :) Loved your video!
Oooh I don't have / haven't tried those particular colours - thanks for letting me know!!!
I love your videos! They're beautiful and very informative. Thank you! I'm just starting out.

you dont give real time tutorials ?
We’re you taught by Ian Fennely? Similar styles
