Teoh Yi Chie also does some digital urban sketching along with the more traditional sketchbook sketching. He has some digital sketching tutorials on his RUclips channel

Toned paper artists seem to use mostly dry-ish media: colored/WC/Inktense pencils, Neocolor, pastels, gel pens, paint pens. I have started gray & tan toned sketchbooks. It's very tricky. I'm practicing by drawing art supplies until I get a better understanding of how to get affects with my supplies. A white gel pen, drawing pen/Micron) and 1 or 2 other colors goes a very long way. It's easy to overwork a sketch on toned paper. I truly need NO help overworking my pieces 😂😂🤷🏽‍♀️🤦🏽‍♀️😪

I find it so amazing that the urban sketching scene attracts so many architects and those like me that were architects that are no longer in the field. I find my architectural background inhibits me from being loose and artistic etc. I love seeing different styles.

Very grateful for your videos on the different urban sketches and their original approaches to their art. 🎨 is the one profession that makes rebellion popular & profitable, depending. Artists are supposed to ignore rules in order to make completely original art. That said, we all have to start somewhere. Learn the basics then create your own recipes with your supplies & skills. What 'sketchbooks' are for. I am seeing many confuse artists journals/artists books (works of art in themselves) with sketchbooks (unfinished experiments). I use $1 store blankets journals for my experimental sketches & my good watercolor & toned sketchbooks for finished pieces. Artists journal. Blessings from Vermont 🙏🏽

Great collection of different sketchers and their styles! I had the pleasure of meeting and sketching with several of them at the USK Singapore Symposium in 2015. I’d taken a break from urban sketching for a while but and excited to be joining the Asialink Sketchwalk in Penang, Malaysia, in a couple of days’ time. Your video is giving me a huge motivation to keep drawing regularly again! Hope you can feature some more sketchers from South East Asia soon too!

What an amazing compilation of artists. Thank you for taking the time to share these talented people. I'm sure I'd never have discovered any of them with out this video. You are my first urban sketch artist and so far my only! But I enjoy your videos with both your creations and with your admiration for others' works, too. This is the way creative people should work--together, sharing, supporting. Thank you. And by the way I have your wonderful, helpful, well-written "Beginners Guide to Urban Sketching" book.

Wow, Taria! Thank you so much for this excellently put together compilation of artists! I can see why it took you a long time to create. The amount of information you gave is admirable, and you gave me a deep well of artists to look up and follow.(I took a screen shot of the list below) I’m new to urban sketching and this video gave me a wonderful view of the different styles that are represented. Thanks again!

Thank you Tara for creating another videos like this even though you have been my inspiration since the pandemic. I bought some of the art supplies because of your recommendations. I bought had your ebook and now the hard copy book to travel with when I want to sketch my travels. Still a struggle because most people want to snap pictures and ready to move on, :). One of these days, I will join a on-location workshop.

Great video. Take a look at American artist Austin Briggs (1960's) on his art reportage in Vietnam. His career was mainly in magazine editorial art & illustration but its cool to see his progression from very tight illustrations to looser & fluid economy with his line work. His series in Vietnam could give you a glimpse into the history of art reportage as well. There's a good Pete Beard video on his life/work on YT to get a good idea of his work.
