That was like being a young child in a huge sweetshop. Eyes darting everywhere, not knowing where to look or which one to try first. All overwhelming and senses overloaded at the sizes, shapes and colours all about you. Thank you for sharing.
This is the best info video with so many links to others that I have ever come across. You have highlighted areas that I have been avoiding but that I really need to practice. Practice is my nemesis. Thank you so much. I will definitely be telling my art student peers all about you and this great video. Your set on my subscribe bell 🥰🥰🥰
What an invaluable video . I was in a ki d of slump what to do next which isn't usually me .this has I spired me so much .and the links .are much appreciated .thank you for been amazing at art and sharing what you know .
I feel like people are hard for me, so I've started hanging out at the bar and I take a pic of someone across the bar from me, and it's great when there is a game on, because then they are looking up instead of their phone, but then i sketch them on my ipad with Adobe fresco, and import the photo and after they leave I trace them and compare to my sketch to see my mistakes. I realized I almost always make their eyes too far apart, but it's great fun, and nobody ever realizes what I'm doing especially if there is a TV behind their head. LOL Thanks these were good ideas.
Fantastic! This must have taken so much time to accomplish- remembering what artist did what skill and Finding the video And the screen shot that well depicts the skill/idea - and for so many great ideas. This is a truly valuable video!!
Fantastic inspirational video. So many possibilities to consider. Thank you for sharing this. I'm 67 and have just started watercolour painting and I've got a sketch book from my daughters to take to Cornwall ... Look out for these at The National Gallery and The Tate
You said it sista! I do spend too much time deciding what to do and not enough time doing. So many great ideas and brilliant of you to include so many links! You're the bomb, TD!
Taria, you have become SUCH an inspiration! I am just beginning my sketching journey and this video is jam-packed with excellent ideas and information that I totally appreciate. I was so thrilled when you mentioned Shari Blaukopf! She is a fellow Montrealer whose work and talent, like yours, I admire very much. Thank you for all your great videos ❤️
Thank you for suggesting so many avenues for people to pursue creatively. I'm just getting back into painting after a year and a half break, so I've been looking for subject matter.
Your exotic animal sketches look so fun. I’d love to see a video of how you do one. I have a lot of trouble with layering and wet on wet. So I think it would be really helpful to watch you step-by-step step. Doesn’t have to be the animals just a suggestion. I would just love to paint along to see how you apply the paint to get your results.
Hi Taria, I’m so happy to have found your channel.. I really enjoy your videos. Thank you for that and all the ideas you present here. I’m a photographer. I have tons of photographs which I would like to paint. After watching this video I got an idea how to organize them and start painting. You are such an inspiration. 😊
200% amazing! It's a compilation of everything an urban sketching newbie must know! Love your passions in USK! I've also been following most of the urban sketchers you have mentioned and bought some of their books. I'm not sure if arts can connect the world but sure USK can (Hong Kong is one of the farthest place from you)!!!
Hi ! this is so inspirational! love all the ideas and sketches/paintings 😍👏👏 .. as I love to paint watercolor whimsical landscapes, I must say that this little house 18:32 is my favourite ✨✨✨😊 and I would definitely try it in a whimsical style! Beautiful sharing ! thank you and have a wonderful day! Marija 💖😊
Really enjoyed this video. Inspiration and just motivating myself even though I’m a complete novice…just to go for it, despite how little confidence I have in my ability. Thank you. Best wishes.xx
Thank you Tarie for sharing your art talent and words of encouragement. I purchased an E copy of your " Sketchy adventures around the world " and what great sketches and fun reading about your adventures during the pandemic.
Holy moly. That list is fab - thank you! I’m trying to be more creative with my watercolours, I only really use them for fashion illustration, and the suggestions here (and your epic playlist!) is going to help so much. Thank you!
9:00 - I noticed that I really struggle with the little details like that. I tend to "scribble" and give vague concepts, which shits me because I actually admire detailed art. I also can't stand repetition, like drawing the patterns on a zebra. But I'm awfully satisfied when I express an emotion, concept or a theme. Is that "expressionism" that I'm doing, or just pure laziness?
Hi Taria ! i have discovered your chanel only recently and immediately registered ! I have been been binge watching ever since and I feel more ready now to practice on location which scared me before. You have a very kind voice which makes it a pleasure to follow your videos.... And your website is so thorough ! Great job !
Francis, such a beautiful comment, thank you so much. It is words like yours that encourages me carry on making the content I do. I am so happy you are preparing to sketch on location :D
Thank you for a wonderful video, it's like a treasure to me ♥️♥️♥️, also I am happy to see that I am quite in a right direction because many of your inspirational artists like ,Paul Clerk, Yang Chen, James Gurney, Eric from Cafe Watercolor, , are inspirations for me too😄
Thank you so much for doing this. This video is packed with so much useful information. I also love hearing about the other artists, classes, books, media sites that have helped you. I really appreciate ALL your videos. I’ve watched this about 10 times now😂 Also, I wish you good luck/safe travels with your move!
Hello Taria, we have just found you and we are already impressed by the type of content and value you bring :)) Educational and fun, yay! - Beatrice from ZenART Supplies
This is one of your best videos! It's so informative. But I got weird feelings when you kept putting down the quality of your pevious videos that you mentioned. I've watched many of those videos and the content makes up for the lack of what you consider quality. I'd much rather watch a video with substance. Ok, off my soapbox. You've given me so much quality advice on learning urban sketching. I hope to do one of your sketching tours in the future. Morocco sounded wonderful but...
Wow, thank you Sara! Sorry - I am only joking around sometimes when I put down the quality - its only because I know I do a better job now - I am only being tongue in cheek but noted, I shall take that on board! Thanks so much for watching. Morocco has been postponed for the time being due to Covid but hopefully will rearrange for later in 2022, when things calm down a bit.

Do you have a favorite sketching pen that works well with watercolor?
What is your favorite watercolor sketch book?
