My my my, you are a life saver, was this close to buy a streaming bridge, was not aware of this update, have a streaming gig tomorrow and you saved me money, thank you!
Cool workflow that just got enabled by this: Set webcam output to multiview -> Feed webcam into an NDI application, now you can use OBS to see and punch from anywhere on your network, no cable runs needed.
Nice update; thinking of leaving the usb-c out as the program and using it as the in-house tv image and obs image (with an adapter). Then just changing the hdmi-out to the multiview
Thanks AJ. I also saw in another video with this update the ATEM extreme can be seen as a network drive on the computer and the real time ISO recording can be used in Resolve for instant replay. Not useful for church maybe, but useful for sports.
Hello, thank you so much for this update, but I have one challenge. I we just got it to be used in my church as our video mix but we are facing one challenge, we have 3Tv sets for final projector to the audience but anytime the mixer is on M/V it will show all the multiple view to the audience, which suppose be our back end, so my Question is how can have my multiple view show to me alone at back end and not be show to the audience while offline. Kindly let me know if you understand my question thank you.
My video answers your question already. Set the USB output to Multiview and set the hdmi out to program. One camera app on computer and then USB output will be multiview. If you have the atem mini pro this is what you are limited to. You will need to stream from the ATEM if you use the USB for the multiview as you will not be able to get the program view for the live stream if you are using OBS or some other program via the USB output

@AJaytheCEO If I have an ATem Mini extreme SDI which has 2 USB outs, and I switch the USB webcam out to MV, will both of them be switched to MV or just one of them? If it's both I lose the ability to connect a drive to record through the other USB out. I or many of us don't need 2 MV from the Webcam outs.
Thank you for the update. Is there a way to send the feed to an external hard drive to edit later? Probably wouldn’t be able to use / iso feature to edit each camera.
I am in the very early stages of trying to set up a live hybrid zoom monthly meeting. I have HDMI webcams, XLR analog mixer (1204USB) and ATEM Extreme ISO. Will the new software update help me in a significant way. I have been watching your videos for several months now, and I learn something from every one. I am an amateur A/V guy, and overwhelmed. Thanks
A direct connection to a monitor does not work. You need something like how I did it with a computer running a program that can read the data as a webcam feed
Cool video! However, I had just downloaded the update and I don't see signal on video input 2, whatsoever. I got my ATEM SDI Extreme ISO about 2 months ago, and all the inputs worked fine, up until this point. Any tips?
Hey, AJay! I'm trying to use the USB out on the ATEM MINI PRO for multi view, and I have it hooked up to the hdmi input of a computer monitor. For some reason, the monitor isn't seeing any video? What I'm I doing wrong?
@AJaytheCEO so can I use the USB out as a program out to my streaming software and just use the HDMI out for multi view on my computer monitor HDMI input?
@@AJaytheCEO I figured it out. I actually did what you did in the video. I plugged the USB out to my laptop and used the camera app to see the multi-view. I dragged that into one of my extended monitors. I'm going to use another monitor for the ATEM Mini software control so it can free up my laptop just only use the FreeShow presenter software. It took some trial and error but I finally figured it out. Thanks again for all of your help.
I wonder if connecting a usb-c to HDMI adaptor would allow you to have another HDMI output. I switched to the Osee Gostream for this reason. I am sending video feed to 3 different areas and needed independent control, This is an awesome and much needed update if that works.
@@AJaytheCEO so you are recording straight to the sd card in camera, then editing the footage from the card? May I ask what is the atem mini being used for?
Good update, but if the extreme sends the same choice to both usb outputs, could that effect recording if u have one set-up with a monitor and the other wirh a storage device i know most church services are free but you still need a level of professionalism you don't want a "customer" to be watching a service and half way through your multiview appear because you change your settings in software when you recorded the service I would like to see blackmagic on the next update give a choice if it goes to both usb outputs or just one, and you can decide which one also a choice to turn one into a usb in port so you can attach a flash drive with media files so you don't have to use a channel to play external videos or side shows
Newbie question: Wouldn't you use your HDMI out for the multi view program to an external monitor and the USB-C out as your video source in OBS? I am new to the ATEM world but I understood that most people use that way and they way you are using it is not very common. Is there any advantage on using it the way you are using it? Thanks man and sorry if it is a stupid question...
@@AJaytheCEO Oh. I have the Mini Pro ISO, so I get the same feature. Where you just demonstrating the new feature? Or is that the way you actually use it every day?
Using the Extreme, this would free up both video outputs. You could have your program view on some monitors and just Hymns or Scriptures on others by sending thoses input views to the other output. All controlled by the ATEM. For event streamers like myself this would work for presentations too.
When I am able to input audio thru the USB C in the atem I will be happy, so I can conect my rodecaster to the usb c in the atem and have audio, that will be relly usefull, so much more tjhan this :/

Glad it helped. Good luck with your streaming gig!
Competition makes ATEM do what what’s needed to be done. OSEE is a serious competitor.

I use the USB out into OBS for in-house TV distribution. It will be nice to have a clean feed for that.
Im new to atem system. does hdmi out ony display when plugged to a monitor or i can use my macbook as monitor using the hdmi out?
Can you use the webcam feature and ssd recording at the same time with a USB Hub with an ATEM Mini Pro ISO?
No you cannot

Does anyone have issues with image quality when streaming a PowerPoint slide via MS Teams or Zoom using the atem?
The quality is determined by your connection in zoom. Make sure zoom is set to HD quality
This is a neat update! Very useful
Can I plug the USB c into an aropa portable monitor and set it to multiview without going through a computer?
No you cannot
Thank you for the info & showing the "how to" possible uses. I have the ATEM Mini Pro, so only 1 output. ;(
No problem

That's an useful feature, thanks for the video!
You are welcome
my question is on the pro mini can you put a hub on it so you can record to ssd and have the output on the single us.?
No this was done in an earlier video and I recently tested it again and this does not work
But that means on an ATEM Mini Pro with only 1 USB-C connector, you can’t record to SSD anymore via USB-C ?
Correct as the usb port can only be used in one data direction at a time, connection output or data harddrive data out but not both at the same time
Thank you for the update. Is there a way to send the feed to an external hard drive to edit later? Probably wouldn’t be able to use / iso feature to edit each camera.
what system are you using to control your cameras? You just repositioned your dlsr camera without moving out your seat.

It may or may not. It all depends on what is going to zoom in your setup

how I can take usb c to output from my Atem mini pro to a monitor ?

@@AJaytheCEO I went to BlackMagic's website > support > ATEM 9.5 Update and then downloaded it from there.
Dope update bro. Check your audio though. There’s a room feed coming in like a delayed echo.
Does this solution allow end user for using webcam as additional signal source?
No

That doesn't work like that. The USB or needs a computer to see that. A regular monitor can't read USB like that

Correct but this is the limit of the ATEM mini pro
Help please!!! the atem mini only outputs 1080P and records 1080P how are you uploading 4K videos. Please please
The ATEM cannot do 4k. My 4k is done by editing my videos in 4k

I am recording to the SSD connected to my hyperdeck. I import my video into my video editor and have it upscaled to 4k
HOW did you get a SuperSource??? I thought the ATEM mini's did not have that?

I would assume because the price in parts dropped so they could add multiview, streaming and recording at a cheaper price

why not to HD8 4k series
