MK7R Dyno comparison, Stock vs Stage 1

  • We compare a simple APR Stage 1 tune vs Stock on a MK7 Golf R on our chassis dyno. We did our best to keep each run consistent to the next.
    1st Run - Stock (91oct)
    2nd Run - APR Stage 1 Low Torque (91oct)
    3rd Run - APR Stage 1 High Torque (91oct)
    *We clearly would expect even more power with the 93oct file.
    The results are what we've seen across the board over the years when dynoing APR tuned vehicles, whether it was stage 1 all the way up to Stage 3+.

    • @COMotorsports
      @COMotorsports  4 года назад +2

      With the Haldex unplugged it's still turning the front axles, front angle drive, and driveshaft. This is the exact same way it is when driving on the street 90% of the time. The only time the rear axles are powered is when there is slip on the front tires. So lets say you did a pull on the highway in 3-4th gear with Haldex plugged in... and did a pull in 3-4th gear with it unplugged... the car is going to accelerate the exact same because the AWD is not going to engage as there would be lots of traction.
      So the answer is yes. We unplug it for safety so there's no chance of it engaging the rears.

    They are better. My Polo R WRC with apr stage 1 promises 315+ hp and 450 Nm and stage 1+ aka same but with apr fuel pumps would give 370+ hp. Ì won some better Tesla S model, not plaid but still on a rolling 20Kmh to 190Kmh . Tesla having about 180 at the end of the straight. It was about 300 meters or less. It propably has 350+ and with fuel pumps would go over 400. Their estimates are either bhp or seriously down estimated.

    We have shell 99+ octane on pump so that might bring some difference. WTF I have more im my Polo R. Don't ruin that engine with 91 MAN! Get e85 program or better gas.

      @@COMotorsports How? What an earth? You should order some additive octane raiser or perhaps methanol water injection? And on top of racing fuel, atleast in europe you can order a barrel of pump fuel from shell. Our 99+ even has a drop of nitromethane on it on top of some other additives that are inspired or used by the fuel they use in formula 1 Ferrari.

      @@COMotorsports But again another proof of how much VAG engines can handle variation in fuel. Is it state dependant or whole country or just your town.
      hmm... Where the drifting guys get their fuel... Rob Dahm orders his e85 by the barrels.

    91 octane? damm thats terrible. the budget fuel near my house in 97 and the good stuff is 99.

    • @HenkkaWRC
      @HenkkaWRC 2 года назад +1

      RON vs. AKI. In America they measure octane differently using AKI. Rest of the world use RON. 91 AKI = 95 RON and 93 AKI = 98 RON.

    • @HenkkaWRC
      @HenkkaWRC 2 года назад +1

      So yeah, it's sad that they don't have 98 octane (ron) available, but it's not terrible since they atleast have access to the "normal" 95 octane (ron) fuel. That's what most cars require at least.

    That cool not prefect horsepower because you live Canada 487 m (1,598 ft) high sea level , turbocharger compresses the air flowing into the engine. ... The air is thinner at high altitudes than at low altitudes; therefore the air running into the engine is also less dense than usual, and less effective at burning fuel. This means less horsepower. if you live in south America. if I live in Austin it would be 489 feet elevation of any city is the term given to denote how high the location is in relation to sea level. Austin, Texas, has an elevation of 489 feet (149 m), which is typical of most major cities more horsepower hungry thick air.! cool facts!

      You realize that APR has more cars tuned in this world then any other company...by A LOT. They're the leader in the industry for a reason, and that's due to providing great product. There's very few products on the market that compare to their quality and fit and finish. We know this due to having most product in VW/Audi world in our hands to actually see the difference. Say what you will but as someone who's used it all, not just 1 or 2 products I speak with experience.
