I recently installed an APR Stage-1 '93 high torque' and a TCU tune on my MK7 GTI Sport. Holy crap. My bone stock MK7 was not far behind my stage-1 MK6 with 260 hp and 320 lbs./ft. Bone stock, the MK7's IS20 turbo and fuel pump flows much better on the top end than a stage 1 MK6 with a K03 turbo. An APR stage-1 MK7 is EXTREMELY impressive and I have no reason to doubt their claim of 321 hp and 352 lbs./ft of torque. Acceleration on the HWY is comparable to a BMW M340i or Mercedes A45 AMG. I've also noticed my oil temps are cooler, averaging 205-208F compared to 215-220F stock.

I didn't want to go with a ECU tune because of warranty issues. I went with the easiest to install so I can remove them easily if I need to take the car to the stealership for something.

Hopefully you’re upgrading that N engine. I can assure you 2 things. 1. The warranty will 100% be voided. 2. If it’s the turbo model that engine won’t be able to handle much. This is coming from someone who “doesn’t” work at a Hyundai dealership and “isn’t” a tech for them.

Also those 2.0T engines are fun and all but we have a STACK of RO’s of cars with the 2.0T engine that need to be replaced. We had one that came in with barely over 2K miles and there was deep deep scoring on the cylinder walls I’m talking vertical/horizontal scoring I’ve never seen that before on cylinder walls. But definitely smart to have a easy tune to where you can take it out before taking it to the dealership. I’ve seen guys bring their cars in and just have left their COBB shit in the in car.
