Nice Vid - You guys put an APR stage 1 tune on my GTI. I now have a MK 7.5 R. Would you recommend the Racing Line over the APR? Do both installs still include a Dyno?
The car has already been on the dyno, and the file tested in R&D we've had the car for almost 2 years so we know the tune works. We just wanted to show the before and after.
Miles from ? Because of an intake . Ok that gives you maybe 5 - 10 hp. Big deal. The muffler delete is a very minor change and basically just makes it louder
Again, as also mentioned in the video. The hardware on the car installed is for stage 2 which doesn't benefit the car much without a custom calibration. Also the point of the video was to show a difference live on the airfield. We did not have time to remove the intercooler or the intake.
Currently on these the ecu is locked so there is no tuning solution via a remap, but we've had some promising figures from the racechip modules. Which can make a significant improvement on times. Which we'll be doing a video on soon too
A better video would have been to have ti car race another car in its stock trim then re race the car after the tune is installed to see the difference vs the other car.
Great video, you got a new subscriber from Perth, Australia :) p.s. I talked to a Tuner and he suggested to only go Stage 1 ECU and TCU, as the Stage 2 tuned cars sometimes have "Turbo issues" with the Stock Turbo..... have you found this to be true?
we've done plenty of stage 2 cars without any issues, but that's not to say a turbo can't let go even at stage 1 - whenever tuning is concerned sometimes you can get hit with bad luck and the turbo may just not be as strong. In most cases we have customers that have done thousands of miles on stage 2 and stage 3 cars and have had no issues yet.

The car has already been on the dyno, and the file tested in R&D we've had the car for almost 2 years so we know the tune works. We just wanted to show the before and after.
Is this the 7 or 7.5?
Look at the reg
I love Vw...... Good job
It's NOT £500...What's the real cost with all the intercooler parts etc, plus the ECU upgrade?
The tune itself is £500 that's what gets the figures. The intercooler and stage 2 parts are not needed for a stage 1 remap
Did the tuned car have an aftermarket downpipe?
Nope this is only stage 1 and full OPF in place
@@awesomecars1 Whoa! Great work. Waiting for MK8 R to be avail in USA. Hope they become tunable eh! All the Best.
@@shinymike4301 We can't wait for them to be tuned too so we can start having some fun!
Hate when post says stock car to tuned car is miles from stock change to not mapped to Mapped
Did it have the tcu tune on the second run ?
Nope, just the stock tcu and stage 1 wcu
I think it has the intercooler, you guys should know.
First and last time I'm watching your channel
Each to their own
@@awesomecars1 Exactly, I thought the video was well done
How does that compare to mk8?
There's a lot of pros and cons, watch our review on the mk8 we covered how we felt about it
Awesome video guys. I currently have an 8Y Audi S3 2020 model. What’s the price for a stage one tune and a TCU tune? Screw the warranty 😂
Currently on these the ecu is locked so there is no tuning solution via a remap, but we've had some promising figures from the racechip modules. Which can make a significant improvement on times. Which we'll be doing a video on soon too
A better video would have been to have ti car race another car in its stock trim then re race the car after the tune is installed to see the difference vs the other car.
excellent work
Thank you
Great video, you got a new subscriber from Perth, Australia :) p.s.
Makes you wonder how much margin VW have left off the performance to ensure higher reliability figures + not to cannibalise AUDI's RS sales.
Anything on a MK8 Golf R yet?
No tunes available, just a racechip with promising results:)
@@awesomecars1 I did notice the Racechip GTS Black, but as the stock cars seem to be running around the 340bhp from factory. I was wondering if the 53bhp gain is on the factory stated 316bhp or on the dyno'd numbers?
@@Dave389OM we've just recently done one on the mk8 R - 374.14HP with 359.94lbft - but that didn't run a stock of 340hp some cars can vary but some days on the dyno can be different due to multiple factors. But 375HP is still a pretty big improvement and you can definitely feel it on the car.
Expected better 100-200 tbh. I have a stage 1 2016 Leon Cupra that did a dragy verified 9.2 on my one and only go. Same engine/turbo.
Guess because the Golf is heavier and my car did make very good numbers.
Hardly stock with the air intake, turbo elbow and intercooler which I believe are required to do a Stage 2 .. not a Stage1 tune. Would have been better to just get a completely 'stock' car and then do the stage 1 tune and then do a stage 2 with all the bits and see the 3 different results... then if you listen to him he thinks the car has the intercooler...
Oem+?
Yep Racingline software
@@awesomecars1 okay because there was a company called oemplus. Can this tune be done from home?
Not at the moment
How much would all the mods and tune cost?
Around £2410
To clarify, this includes the software package ECU and TCU - the full intake kit including the turbo elbow and hose and the intercooler
Is there anyway to know if your car is ECU tuned or not? I bought one and wondering if it has ECU tuned or its stock
?
13.5 100-200 for a stock MK7, damn, a stock Mk8 does the same in 10.8 (per automann data).
wow fantastic results. Definitely need to get my 2015 Golf R tuned! how much is a stage one with you guys? Christmas sale? ;)
Black Friday sale coming soon so keep an eye out for that on our social media's!
Pretty sure the first run was in normal mode to…
My cupra 290 is getting a racingline ecu tune and intake, as soon I can justify it... lol
It's 30% off right now, that's enough justification 🤣
@@awesomecars1 ohh I can Justify it to myself, the Mrs on the other hand.... lol
The stock mk8 golf r, with nothing else added has a 12.4 qtr and 4.1 0-60 on carwow. So basically its like a mk7 golf with a stage .5 :)
Awesome improvement over stock! 🙌🏻 Improve mine from 18-19s to 13.78s for 100-200km/h on stage 1.
Amazing!
not stock ...
@@laurencerucker2585 ehhhh
Is that now stock RS3 territory?
Very close! but we will be doing the RS3 too soon so the times shall reflect how close it can get to it.
So they are saying the stock Golf R can do 200mph?
100-200 KPH :)
@@awesomecars1 then why does he say the 1/4 mile time in mph? Gives the impression that all times are mph not kph. I know this is a EU based company and it is done in the EU. And why not say 0-100kph not 0-60?
@@Halo549 It is based off the dragy results, this is what it shows on the format here in the UK when we run these tests so just reading off those
@@Halo549 because 0-100 kph is 0-62mph, two different measurements. 100-200 is well recognised as kph.
Would love to see you do this with the 8v S3
coming soon!
@@awesomecars1 yessss thank you 🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻
This is infuriating for me. My car is just stage 1 (Audi S3 8v) and no r600 intake. Bog standard hardware just a stage 1 map.
I beat that car 0-60(3.73)and 1/4 mile(11.96) but it beats me 100-200 lol(11.26) ( all draggy valid runs)
I dunno why my car is so slow 100-200 🤷♂️
give us a call :) sure we can get that looked at for you!
I can almost guarantee it’s the intercooler they have upgraded on the car in the video compared to your stock intercooler
£500 lol how much was the elbow an the intercooler. Tune a std one like the title says you were going to
