  • MK7 Golf R with a stage 1 ECU and TCU tune from 034 Motorsport on a Mustang AWD dyno. We ran the car bone stock for a baseline BHP figure, then while still strapped to the dyno flashed the ECU and TCU to Stage 1 with 034 Motorsport software and ran the car again.

    Pretty cool to see! I have a '19 Golf R on the 034 Stage 1 on 93. Haven't gotten it on the dyno at all but it was a surprising difference in butt dyno and it's been great since! I also have the X34 intake and 034 turbo inlet elbow to install...maybe I should go do that right now!

    Next modification I would recommend is a BMS pedal tuner. It doesn't make the car any faster, but it transforms the response which is desperately needed with the throttle on this car. Having the ability to adjust it on the fly is also very nice.

    I've bought and installed some 034 parts in their early days when I bought my 17 Golf R:. and had mixed results. Ever since they expanded it has become IMPOSSIBLE to get someone to answer the phone over there. There are too many other choices out there to deal with non-existent customer support. Good video nonetheless.

    Those WHP numbers are actually pretty close to what you see with a Dyno jet. Mustang dyno's used to read a lot lower but I heard they came out with some sort of updated software or setting that cause them to read more inline with a Dyno Jet. Which as you said the absolute number is not as important due to a number of variables, but it is for reference if they are all in the general ball bark, which most are these days. Everyone gets tired of explaining why their numbers might be lower than others so...
    The real test will be at the drag strip, or use a draggy, 0-60, 1/4 mile 100-200Km's. I will guess 0-60 around 4 seconds and 1/4 12.4 @109 MPH. Good luck with your project.

      Yup you’re about spot on! Need to get some solid 0-60 times. Last one I did was 4.1

      Thanks for you input, I didnt know that about updated dynojet readings. I have an Audi S3 (same engine) IS38 also, with same 034 ECU/TCU tune stage 1, but with 93 octane not 91, and Im right at 12.2 in the 1/4 mile with just that upgrade, no hardware. The 034 tune is butter smooth, while having that nice low end grunt down low that just continues to redline. It's nearly perfect, along with the 034 upper and lower dogbone mounts, which gets rid of drivetrain slop, gives you a much more direct feel.

    Are the American golf Rs stock 250 bhp ? Or 300 bhp like in UK?

    • @adamswordsroughcuts7548
      @adamswordsroughcuts7548  3 года назад +1

      300bhp (around 250whp) all figures quoted here are WHP which are lower than BHP

    • @neilwalker8686
      @neilwalker8686 3 года назад

      It is calculated different. 98ron = 93oct.

    • @volkssturm9694
      @volkssturm9694 Год назад

      91OCTANE is in the WESTERN parts of the US, the east side ( Texas and to the east coast) has 93 octane readily.

      thats according to 034's in house dyno. Different dyno's produce vastly different numbers. I have 034 stage 1 ECU/TCU on my audi S3 and it's right on par with the other major players as far as power. I went with them because 034 strictly adheres to the factory safety parameters while at the same time producing a really solid tune . Im running low 12s in the quarter stage 1 with 93 octane.
