I'm glad Toyota made it possible to have 4Low with the center diff unlocked. Low range comes in really handy when trying to precisely maneuver a trailer in tight conditions. If the center diff is locked, or with a transfer case and you can't leave the front hubs/axle unlocked, then you can't use this ability on high traction surfaces. I only know of two new vehicles that can do this currently: Ineos Grenadier and the new Toyota Land Cruiser.
200-series owner in New England. The new 250 is quite a rig. While I still wish we got the 300-series in the US, it is going to be nice seeing more Land Cruisers here.
I have to say, on the Landcruiser Landcruiser Edition, white is arguably the best looking color. I typically buy black. I have a '22 4Runner Limited in black and I will be trading it for a LandCruiser in white this year. Very sharp with the white and black accents/rails.
Stupid question, Are the American Land Cruiser different from the Australia ? Because I’ve seen some Australian LC with front differential, and the American LC doesn’t have it
My '01 is still going strong and does all the things. We've never really had to confront the 'Prado' in the US. I just wonder how long that hybrid powertrain is going to last and how expensive is it going to be to keep it running at 200k, 300k, etc.
Hey, guys. I've just got my first edition. Could you please explain how to lock rear differential? When I press the button - it beeps, flashes but nothing happens: the indicator is not lit after flashing. No matter if it's on 4high or 4low... What am i doing wrong?
Wonder if the turbo 4 cylinder on this one will overheat just like the ones in the 4th gen Tacoma are doing the moment you throw bigger tires or anything other kind of weight on it.
Never seen this model before. We have the 300 series over here. Not that many one the road yet due to big delays. My dad bought one for about $130,000 nzd. Sold it back to the dealer for $140,000and then they re sell it on their yard for $150,000 lol as they can't sell it for that price new. So this is "2nd hand" but new.
Can't wait to see what you guys do to one of these. You guys took the Gladiator, gave it some style. Same with the Sequoia. This Land Cruiser needs some style to it to match the tech underneath.
The new Land Cruiser Prado is a nice toy between the new 4Runner(which it should be) and the new Land Cruiser. Not really a Land Cruiser, but I am sure it is a great over priced 4 Runner. They should have at least given us the option of a 70 series, a true LC. No offense they are all gonna be good. 😬🤔😊 Will still be quite happy with our LC200 and my wife’s AG TRD 4Runner Pro. But looking at the LX550 as an accessory to them 😊👍
I've seen a lot of videos with a new LC250 and I noticed that sometimes the volume knob is next to the mains driver's screen (as it is here) and sometimes it is below the AC panel. Anybody knows why?
The LC250 was released in Japan, where I live, but it does not have iforceMax and there is no gray color lineup. The roof rail options are also oddly different. It's just sad.
Would love to see Toyota bring back the Trail Teams special editions starting with the 2025 model. There should not be a TRD name plate. I'm not saying the TRD features are a no go just that the Landcruiser should have its own badging and Trail Teams was cool. 2011 FJ Cruiser.
Looks like 2 toyota sales reps 😢. Can't trust this type of in theater reviews. Have to personally test it. Paid experts are just salesmen. I love the channel for adventure videos. Not this dramatization
You know of course that the USA does not get the real Landcruiser., which is the 300 series. What you are testing is the smaller Landcruiser Prado. Not anywhere as capable as the full size 300 series.
We live (very) remote in the Northern Territory (Australia) We have a 1hz 105 series with 600,000 on the clock and we’re looking for the replacement. 300 series? Not on the list. Prado (even the new one that the US is calling a “Landcruiser” nope, no thanks. Our choices are a V8 diesel 200 series (still don’t like IFS though)… or a 76 series or a Troopy (both with the V8 diesel) The 76 and the Troopy are looking good
True AWD is a life saver when you need in a real situation. This same vehicle is sold in Europe/Australia/Asia/Africa as Landcruiser Prado which is based off a hulux surf.
The Prado isn’t based on the old Hilux Surf (it was the 4Runner in Australia) The Fortuner is a wagon based off the Hilux. The Prado is larger. But smaller than a real Landcruiser. (200/300/76/78/79)
Should have MTS and SDM on 1958. Leave the Offroad stuff delete the frills. Have any idea of what you’re actually going for theme wise instead of let’s delete a few things and lower the price point. EKDSS for LC LC trim. Needs more differentiation from 4R. It has some but needs more to justify likely 10k price difference from ORP hybrid vs LC LC trim
Might not get more trim levels if sales are meeting or exceeding expectations. Need more value. Love the design. Way more than 4R but 4R such a better value if pricing is what most of think ie ORP hybrid for 55k
While I do love the styling and design I just with it stuck to the roots of being a larger vehicle and 7 / 8 seater. There are just too many trucks in this segment that I think for the most part do all the same thing. I think Toyota is trying to SELL a name with this LC. I don't know exact dimensions but between the Land Cruiser, New 4 Runner, and Lexus 550 They are just too similar. Nobody with kids and adventure in mind IMO is going to go for this. Yes there is the New Sequoia and I do like the TRD Pro I've driven on but the rear cargo area is flawed to an extent. I wish they kept with the same model and either just Imported the 300 Series to the US.... OR modeled the NEW Land Cruiser off of the Lexus LX like in the past generations. still could have have some of these styling cues but just set it apart more than it is currently in this shown configuration. IT could have Fulltime 4wd like the LX instead of the 2WD mode as the Sequoia has. Could have a center locking diff instead of a rear. Sway bar Disconnect and some other fancy off-road features.
I test drove one of the 'First edition' 2024 LCs, and, I'm NOT impressed. I own a 2017 200 series, and to be honest; they should've called the new one an FJ Cruiser. I don't think it's worthy of being called a LAND Cruiser....
Why would someone buy this over a 2025 4 Runner, other than appearance? They are nearly identical in demension, and if anything the 4 runner seems a little more capable
This still going to be a failure so long as the 4runner and highlander exist. It just doesn't have any space in the lineup. Sequoia is also failing due to design and purpose. Toyota must have 20 different (D-same) cars in their lineup. Like a Buffet restaurant. They got everything😂
Ya its just a 4runner with a styling twist. No removable top is a big miss. It just dilutes Toyotas other 4x4 line ups. They really needed to bring in the 79 series instead of this cheesy thing.
I miss seeing Kurt! I wanna see him more often!
Wish they would just give the keys to Kurt, let him swap the tires out and take it out on a real trail. Let’s see what this thing can really do.
Can the SDM unlock easily under load like the Bronco? I really hope it can!
🤓
Toyota should do what they did with the 5th gen 4runner release. Run these new rigs across the rubicon trail. This course is mild terrain, at best.
I was thinking exactly the same thing. A Rav4 would;d have been enough for this baby trail.
Why did you turn crawl control off before the rock part!!!! That’s the point of it noobs lol
Probly because it would get stuck 🤷🏻♂️
200-series owner in New England. The new 250 is quite a rig. While I still wish we got the 300-series in the US, it is going to be nice seeing more Land Cruisers here.
Welcome back, Kurt! You were missed. I hope Toyota brings this to ExpoWest.
My favorite of all the new Toyota's. Hope to have one some day.
I have to say, on the Landcruiser Landcruiser Edition, white is arguably the best looking color. I typically buy black. I have a '22 4Runner Limited in black and I will be trading it for a LandCruiser in white this year. Very sharp with the white and black accents/rails.
🔥
😂😂😂😂, worst colour
@@BDB-ji1ui Well done, very dirty
The dark grey is fantastic
It's a great color!
The land cruiser looks comfortable and ❤ the color
I really hope you guys build one and add it to the fleet
Looks awesome…….I can see this being the perfect overland vehicle.
Where did you guys tested this land cruiser Toyota event at?
It really is a real test drive
That cabin looks tight with you 2 in the front seat - agree? Great review
What make is the roof rack?
Best colour so far!
Does any trim of new 4runner has both rear diff and center dif lock as well?
4runner doesn't have or need center locking diff because it isn't full time 4wd. Some trims have rear diff.
@@theeds Ah ok...I'm a noob. I thought more is better for off roading.
Yes, the new 4Runner will continue the tradition of optional Full-Time 4WD with CDL
Where is this trail?
When can we expect a review of the Lexus GX 550 Overtrail?
Stupid question, Are the American Land Cruiser different from the Australia ? Because I’ve seen some Australian LC with front differential, and the American LC doesn’t have it
Really nice, I love this car, thanks for the test drive guzs.
It looks like a nice rig but I’m not ready to trade my 100 series for it.
I wouldn’t be trading a 100 series for a Prado either…
My '01 is still going strong and does all the things. We've never really had to confront the 'Prado' in the US. I just wonder how long that hybrid powertrain is going to last and how expensive is it going to be to keep it running at 200k, 300k, etc.

I want to see this re-geared and running 37s. I like the boxy design but I like the 4runner interior better.
That would be pretty sweet on 37's!
I’d guess you’d have to do a little body chopping for 37’s. But I’d love to see it too
Wonder if the turbo 4 cylinder on this one will overheat just like the ones in the 4th gen Tacoma are doing the moment you throw bigger tires or anything other kind of weight on it.
Your audio lol. You don't need multiple mics close together in a vehicle, or beside each other. It sounds weird😂
Can you guys please test Lexus GX550 over trail keen to know your thoughts on it?
So cool traction features. I cant wait to see it with a proper tyres 😍
Agreed!
Never seen this model before. We have the 300 series over here. Not that many one the road yet due to big delays. My dad bought one for about $130,000 nzd. I’ve bought 3 knuckle/axle rebuild kits from Kurt myself. And maybe a couple of lift kits as well.
Amy solution for plastic cargo floor ?
Doesn’t 250 Prado :-) has lockable Torsen center diff, just as 150 Prado had? Cruiser Kurta said it is an open lockable center diff.
I hope it still has Torsen like J150.
I'm sure the guys over at Land Rover are having a laugh hearing the quote "As slow as possible, as fast as necessary" in a Land Cruiser demo...
This is the mid level right? Sunroof maybe?
anyone know what colour that is?
Can't wait to see what you guys do to one of these. You guys took the Gladiator, gave it some style. Same with the Sequoia. This Land Cruiser needs some style to it to match the tech underneath.
Looks good, can you fit 33s on the default specs ?
It has 33 tires, already.
I would buy a Land Cruiser that just had comfort inside without all the four wheel drive stuff. Just looks cool.
Hopefully, they put front lockers later on.
So no more Atrac for the front tires?....
I'm just stoked to call it the "tew fiddy"
Will this make a good daily commuter car?
What color is that?
🧐🧐Why do all brands forget to make a steering wheel flat lower it looks cool and easier for the legs and to steer
I don't see any reason the new land cruiser is, on average, $20,000 more than the 4runner.
Are You guys going to Overland Expo West?
We sure are! Come by and say hello!
So you can’t have the 1958 style with all the features?
The new Land Cruiser Prado is a nice toy between the new 4Runner(which it should be) and the new Land Cruiser. Not really a Land Cruiser, but I am sure it is a great over priced 4 Runner. I think the GX 550 is a nice size since it is larger. I have seen an Overtrail in the Sandy color in the wild here in Honolulu.
I've seen a lot of videos with a new LC250 and I noticed that sometimes the volume knob is next to the mains driver's screen (as it is here) and sometimes it is below the AC panel. Anybody knows why?
The loaded version has the volume knob on a different place because the screen is bigger
The LC250 was released in Japan, where I live, but it does not have iforceMax and there is no gray color lineup. The roof rail options are also oddly different.
It's just sad.
But you get Turbo Diesel which is way better.
If you mute one of the mic’s while the other one is active, you’ll get rid of that bad phasing in the audio of your dialogue.
Would love to see Toyota bring back the Trail Teams special editions starting with the 2025 model. There should not be a TRD name plate. I'm not saying the TRD features are a no go just that the Landcruiser should have its own badging and Trail Teams was cool. 2011 FJ Cruiser.
Shame we don't get a real LC in the states anymore 😞
You can buy from Saudi Arabia or the United Arab Emirates
I think a Toyota Camry could’ve made it through that dirt road, but nice walkthrough video of features though.
Ha. I’ve taken my front wheel drive Corolla on some extremely sketchy roads. It could fly over that course.
Landcruiser>4 runner
Agreed
If they added a front diff. lock too, it would have made it for a budget g-wagon
Toyota is . Make in 🇯🇵
🔥🔥
What’s up with Kurt’s mic?
I likely had it tucked too far into my shirt?
packed with electronics. For a proper overlanding / long range expedition I'm not sure if it is the choice?!
Why do you people focusing camera on to your face while driving . Its annoying.... place the camera behind the front seat and focus entire dash
Trying not to be negative, but my grandma's Buick could have driven on that course. 😅😅😅 next time, take it on a true offroad course.
The Back looks like a jeep compass
It really does. Or the old commanders. Which is not a compliment.
I'm kinda new to this offroad thing. Is Hyundai better than Toyota?
Damn...intro music hits hard af lol
Mud mode? What about just pin it?!
Dear Santa... I know this might be a big ask but that new Landcruiser tho...
LOL.
Looks like 2 toyota sales reps 😢. Can't trust this type of in theater reviews. Have to personally test it. Paid experts are just salesmen.
I love the channel for adventure videos. Not this dramatization
Nice car
It’s a Ford Bronco With Toyota badges! YIKES!,,,,,
Bronco has more style but no hybrid 2,3 later yet.

not having a rear mounted spare exposes this vehicles main purpose, and it isn't being a Landcruiser.
True AWD is a life saver when you need in a real situation. This same vehicle is sold in Europe/Australia/Asia/Africa as Landcruiser Prado which is based off a hulux surf.

Ooof. That dude is so cringe. Should have let Kurt just do the video solo without that tourist driving.
So it's a Sequoia 😊
🎉👍💖👍🎉
v6 turbo diesel and it will sell like hotcakes

I know this wasn’t the point of the video, but what’s on the wrist, Kurt?
Most people who buy this will be living their life on the freeway. Bring back the v8
I test drove one of the 'First edition' 2024 LCs, and, I'm NOT impressed. I own a 2017 200 series, and to be honest; they should've called the new one an FJ Cruiser. I don't think it's worthy of being called a LAND Cruiser....
Nope, going the wrong direction with a Land Cruiser now, the 2025 4runner would be a better choice now.
Whos gonna pay the hefty price tag to destroy this vehicle off road? ? Might want to get evaluated because thats just psychotic
Why would someone buy this over a 2025 4 Runner, other than appearance? They are nearly identical in demension, and if anything the 4 runner seems a little more capable
cut the crap 01:55
Kinda like my Power Wagon better.
It’s rice.

What a pity it only comes with that crappy 4cyl engine...
Ага отдать такие деньги и лезть на нем в эти дебри ???Ищите дурачков .😂😂😂
lolololololol land cruiser they say
Nope not buying one… hybrid absolutely not!!
Its going to be hilarious once its realized the only ones who bought these turds are the youtubez channels 😅😅😅
Nope...to much bling, too much money
Honda civic can do that trail🤮
