In India we recommend drinking water from copper jars or bottles. Preferably stored over night in these containers, empty stomach early in the morning and then normally throughout the day from these vessels. It's quite effective.
Agreed with this. My friend's mom who was 80+..she died last year with most of her hair still black. I asked my friend if her mom dyed the hair- she said "nope , it's genetic ". Now I know it's more than that. They drink water from copper jars for sure
Molasses. Many years ago (I’m 59 now ) started putting molasses in my coffee. I was 45 and turning gray and dying my hair. After several months taking molasses, I realized w/ a shock my hair was back to normal light brown color! Now I put both molasses & butter in my coffee. Delicious and I’m still not gray.
Same.. I have photos of my mom and grand mom who went completely white in their 20s. And I had white strands in my teens. Although I do agree with stress will increase the gray hair.

Grey hair is much more an indicator of deficiencies than a cosmetic issue. For example, it shows a deficiency in copper, which creates issues with the nervous system, the immune system, the brain, mood, ect. Also it works with other nutrients such as vitamin c, zinc, ect, so if it's not present in sufficient amounts, it then creates other deficiencies..

I didn't get it. Catalase is an enzyme made of aminoacids, a protein. When we eat, our digestive system breaks down large proteins into small peptides or even single aminoacids. How is it supposed that eating "food rich in catalase" would give us more catalase? I am beginning to think that this Dr. Eric Berg is pulling the wool over our eyes.
Genetics plays a huge role in grey hair. I've had plenty of stress, and didn't eat most of the foods you mentioned. I have about 20 grey hairs. My mother is only about 10% grey, my father, also. They both have great hair. Thyroid conditions can effect grey hairs and make your hair fall out, even if temporarily.
I’m 46yrs old and have no grey hairs. I had some by my early 40’s before I embarked on a huge health and longevity drive, adding NMN, a large number of supplements, regular exercise and a monthly multi-day fast. Within months all the grey hairs had disappeared, very strange but I’m also not the only person to see this. I can only assume the combined improvements to my NAD, removal of senescent cells and so forth have all contributed to removing excess hydrogen peroxide.
I am in my 60s and have very little gray, even though I have endured periods of great stress over the last 20+ years. My mom also grayed early. I took the advice given in the Aubrey organics book and began taking paba and pantothenic acid together, intermittently since my late 20s. It definitely has had a positive effect. Fasting also helps hair grow back and NOT gray!
How would you know if it's had a positive effect if you have been taking it for 40 years? You have zero data on what would happen if you hadn't been taking it. You're merely attributing it to something. Classic causation/correlation fallacy. Also hindsight bias.
I don’t mind the premature graying so long as it’s not premature bolding. That is something I most fear. All the things listed that prevent premature grey hair are things I have been taking already like to prior advance from you. Thanks so much for the helpful health guidance.
Yes, I’ve had terrible hair loss, possibly due to none of my doctors knowing about the Metformin/B12 connection. But yes, rather have grey, than loss. Fortunately, I “think my hair is regrowing, thanks to me. And I “think” Vit E, years ago, got rid of what little grey was coming in.
This checks out based on personal experience. My grandmother still has her natural hair color and only a little gray at 85. My older brother started getting gray hairs in college. She likes home grown foods and farm raised foods.
I started drinking Kombucha 15+ years ago & I believe that has alot to do with no graying. I am 68 and have very little (not noticeable) gray. I also work out all the time & I think mindset is 100% necessary. Btw, both of my parents, who ate horribly, had gray hair in their 40s...so I don't believe it is hereditary.
It is funny, I went on the carnivore diet and cut out all green veggies and my hair began to slowly darken after 4 months. I was always a big cruciferous veggie guy and into natural foods. But I was getting sick fast after I reached 60 with failing teeth, grey hair, wrinkles and overall lack of vitality. To me it made no sense. And that seems to be something that many people experience. All the health problems rapidly turned around when I began the carnivore diet. And I was not doing it to lose weight, because I was underweight due to failing health. In part, I feel the rapid revitalization was due to the vitamin rich high intake of healthy animal fats. My wrinkles were the first to go. Within three months my dental problems were gone, with no more nerve pain, infection and such and I had cavities that healed over. There are many roads leading to good health, but I have found that the key is to eliminate mineral deficiencies. For me grass fed, organic fatty beef is the easiest source of nutrients. Plants are complicated on many levels, all plants have varying levels of minerals, and most have deficiencies of trace minerals due to bad farming practices or depleted soil. Then there are the nutrient blocking toxins that the plant itself creates to protect it from being eaten. That is my experience. I still eat plantains, white rice and avocados because like I said, I do not want to lose weight and they are low in anti nutrients. But the beef and fat seem to be catalyst to my remineralization, and hormone balancing revitalization.
After my son was born..with a rare genetic disease , my gray hair increase a lot!! Now i know the reason: the stress!! So thankfull to you, now i would incorporate the advices that you give to us to my diet and lifestyle...to hopefull stop my hair go gray all!! Thanks you so much!
So true. I first heard of copper for grey hair from Dr. Joel Wallach who taught the copper deficiency/grey hair correlation decades ago and found it certainly works for myself and others. I'm 57 and still happily have very few grey hairs and never colored. :) Zinc gluconate...and others, has always been taken in conjunction.
I got my first grey hair when I was 11 years old. I remember my mum pulling it out. I am now 33 and almost fully grey. No amount of Copper is changing it. Besides I love my grey hair.
Yeah, I had a few grey ones before I got out of high school. My dad was snow white by the time he was 50, and now so am I. I love my full, thick head of white hair.
So in this video, 1) a 10 to 1 ratio of Zink to Copper [ Pill or Plant ] ! 2) Catalase 3) Grass fed Beef Liver or Pills ! 4) Not mentioned but [ I've read that Gotu Kola Keeps hair from turning Gray and ( if I recall ) Reverses Gray too !
I tinted my hair forever, I stopped tinting around my 50's. I allowed my roots to grow out, I found that my hair became thicker and stronger. I wash my hair and condition only once every 7 to 10 days.
Wow. Thank you so much for this. I'm recovering from Cushing's Disease (treated with surgery) and the new hair growth is coming in with a lot more gray than I'd like. Now I know why. I'll try to beef up the copper and catalase. See... this is why we need you on the internet. No one on my team (which was excellent) told me these things.
I'm 72 and I just started getting white hair, my life over the last six years has been very stressful. I'm also blonde "naturally," so the white "so far" is blending in nicely, many ask me where I get my hair colored. 😀
@@dzevadbayraktar322 I have never seen any until a few years after my husband passed away. My mother passed away at age 83 and her hair was salt and pepper, my sister is 80 and she too has salt and pepper colored hair, both of them have dark brown hair, I have been blonde since a baby. Crazy I know 😊
I am 65 yrs young and learned to age gracefully and except my beautiful grey hair. We can't stop the aging process but we can learn to enjoy life pleasures and be around young children who love playing games.
I came on here to make a similar comment, but this comment was a lot kinder than what I was going to comment. Honestly? I'm getting real tired of looking at magazines, videos on RUclips, recommending things to prevent something that is so natural. And I'm also despising how much Jlo gets credit for looking so young for her age. Not all women age the same and people need to stop congratulating women for aging a certain way. My mother did not look like Jlo at 50, and that's more than ok. It's human to age. Meanwhile, men can age and it's whatever.
I am 63 years old and I have barely any gray hair. I doubt it's due to genetics because I have 5 younger siblings that have turned gray. I do eat lots of fish, eggs, and salad.
I'm 55 years old. I'm fortunate to have a full head of hair. I deal with having some grey in my hair because of how much I'm told by the ladies how nice it looks, so that builds confidence just that alone. Thank you, ladies! Although I have been doing your healthy keto for the past 16 months and lost well over 120 pounds of unhealthy weight off my body, maybe not reverse the color of my hair, but it reversed most everything else. Thank you, Dr. Berg and your team/staff for your excellent supplements that I purchase from you!!!!
I ate salmon 3 to 4 times a week and took high potency B vitamins daily and it reversed my gray hair. I am 60.5 years old with no grey hair except a few on each side where my side burns are.
@@logicalblueberry you are correct, stay away from any farm raised. Try to only buy U.S.A. North Atlantic. I buy the whole filet or individual flash frozen and eat 3-4 Oz each meal. 3 to 4 times a week. Prices are horrible but I will put off something else in order to buy it. This method really works for me but didn’t for my friend that was completely gray headed. Hope you have success.
Genetics definitely play a part. I've known people who had lots of gray hair in their early 30s. I'm two years away from 60 and still don't have a single gray hair. My mother is 82, and only started getting gray hair about 5 years ago! She's at about 20% gray now. Lol, would love a video on how to get my light blonde hair back again. At 50, I still had light blonde hair, and then menopause happened and now it's dark blonde! (Not to mention all the extra fuzz!)
Genetic is one thing but greying is mostly caused by blocked pores and blocked circulation. Proper scalp treatment and adding unclogging serum will help turn grey hair to black
Copper is extremely healing! It was used in agriculture for thousands of years to facilitate plant growth. Due to a nefarious agenda there is too much iron in our soil, and even garden implements are made of iron, as opposed to when they were copper. Electroculture is coming back now exponentially, with huge yields.
My wife let her hair return to its natural colour which is a beautiful silver with natural black highlights. She gets many compliments where ever she goes.
I think some people are missing the point of this video :) Of course, we need to learn to accept signs of aging - however for some people especially those in 20's or 30s it's important to take note of your hair in case this is a sign that your body isn't functioning properly! Definitely do not want to just accept a life of high cortisol, you will not age well if you ignore that! Thanks as always Dr!
Great comment. It shouldn't be ignored. There are medical conditions, thyroid, other immune disorders, and more medical problems. Plus, genetics plays a role. I'd see a doctor, make sure all is well before adding supplements. Yes, high cortisol will kill you.
My mom had a stroke and it reversed her greying..I don't suggest this route, tho. I've heard of using colloidal copper sprays for preventing grey, it's neat that this element was mentioned.
Thank you for producing such an outstanding video on how to stop premature graying. Your clear explanations, practical recommendations, and commitment to helping viewers maintain healthy hair pigmentation are highly commendable. Keep up the fantastic work.
@DrEricBergDC I heard about using potatoes peels and cooking it and use the water from it. They say it reverses grey hair. Haven't tried yet. What do you think about that Dr Berg?
Good info. Keep in mind that copper pairs with zinc, but that also means that copper competes with zinc, so as you say, balance is important. There has been some research by Gary Null that had him reversing graying in many people with a plant based vegan diet that consisted of lots of fresh organic green juices in addition to lots of anti oxidants - co Q10, alpha lipoic acid, NAC, resveratrol, etc, and stopping habits and/or foods that are harmful. I bet a lot of the hair graying issues are tied to the telomerase end caps that determine how long we live. We want to extend those suckers as much as we can. : )
This is the video that I have been waiting for. Such a wealth of information with real life, practical solutions to premature grey hair. Thank you, Dr. Berg! 😊
*Fo Ti* (Polygonum multiflorum) is an herb native to China. Research shows that Fo-Ti has a positive impact on gray hair -both to better maintain your natural color and delay the onset of new grays. In general, tonics containing Fo-Ti can potentially darken the hair.
I have post traumatic stress disorder and since I started to get symptoms and having therapy, I started greying a lot! I am only 27 and I never understood why, but your explanation makes sense.
Hi Dr Berg! I am 43 years old & most of my hair is grey. I have had grey hair since I was a kid in primary school & as I grow older, it keeps increasing. I was thinking it's genetics.
George Clooney? My father went grey in his 30s and lived to 85, and I’m half grey in my 40s and women like it. Been eating foods high in cooper my whole life. On this one I’m just going to let go and not worry about my grey.
I used to take liquid colloidal copper to prevent gray hair, but my naturopath told me that it can be detrimental to take just straight copper, because it will create a deficiency of zinc... so I like that Dr Berg mentions this. Haha!
I don’t think going gray or white is a terrible thing. I began growing white hairs at the age of 13. My father was the same. I am now almost 56 years old, and decided to grow out my white hair. I’m very excited to see the end result. If I don’t like it, I can always color it again.
I’m 62. I noticed my hair by my ears and temple starting to turn a little grey in my 40’s. It was also weakening in strength and getting thinner. Started taking biotin 10,000mcg a day, and an amino acid supplement called beef aminos, along with a zinc supplement. Stopped it dead in its tracks. It got thicker also. Maybe a coincidence, don’t know.
Thank you for this video, Dr Berg! I truly wish you would do a video on proteolytic enzymes taken on an empty stomach for joint issues, if possible. Thanks again for all of your terrific help!
Dr. Berg, I found this information many many years ago, and then when I started having problems with gray hair in my 40's I researched it to confirm that that's what I remembered reading, and could not find it anywhere in any article or any study at all whatsoever it's like it just magically disappeared!🤔 but thank you so much for doing this video I'm not going to lie when I looked at your videos here recently I was like "oh my he's getting old"lol. On some people, going completely silver looks great but the majority of us do not, so I appreciate this video, and you're looking better already!!! So I hope it works for me LOL
Hi Dr. Berg! Here in the Philippines we use a guaranteed element to keep hair deeply black even in old age. This is the Extra Virgin Coconut Oil. One uses it right after taking a bath.
It's also about genetics, My grandmother passed away at 83 years old with a head full of black hair, I'm 49 years old I've got a whole head full of brown hair.
My mother is almost sixty. She had six children. No grey hairs. She eats plenty of organic foods naturally high in copper like oysters and organic mushrooms from local farms. She also follows the "Root Cause Protocol Handbook".
I’ve been a silver Fox since I was 17. I’m 46 now. I get compliments all the time. I was blonde as a child. Then went light brown. Then dark brown. Then salt and pepper. If I had to guess I would say sugar and stress are culprits.
Copper is good and also there is a need for manganese. Antioxidant enzymes maintain cellular redox homeostasis. It’s needed to make Manganese superoxide dismutase (MnSOD), an enzyme located in mitochondria. It is the key enzyme that protects the energy-generating mitochondria from oxidative damage. We need manganese to produce SOD which cancels out the hydrogen peroxide that the body naturally produces.
Please talk about collagen powder - both marine and bovine. Which one do you recommend? Does it spike insulin? When should one take it? How much should one take?
I can't answer your specific question but I've been taking high quality marine collagen powder for three years and it has not decreased my onset of grey hair. I'm 53.
I love this channel. I’m trying everything to promote a healthy life and prevent illness. I’m fairly healthy but reversing things seems to not be working. I know it’s possible because I have in the past. Idk what’s blocking my improvement 😓
Staying away from stress and psychological stress,as this often leads to hair loss, and this leads to the growth of hair that carries dyes that are lighter in color than the original color, and thus gray hair appears on the hair, proper nutrition and focus on proteins ,as it is know that hair consists of keratin protein, and sources rich in proteins.dairy products, spinach, cheese and butter,or protein supplements can be taken.examination of the thyroid gland ,which is directly related to premature graying
My mother's hair started reversing back to color when she took a powerful anti-oxidant. I've also seen Vitamin BB 5 (Pantothenic Acid) reverse graying.
@@mvwkout5714 actually, it was a heart medication called Carvedilol - which is basically a powerful anti-oxidant. She went gray in her 40s, and chunks of hair grew in dark in her late 70s. I'm in my 60s and still haven't gone gray, and I think its because I use Vitamin B supplements, and rely heavily on animal proteins and fats- I hypothesize they don't deplete B vitamins as much as starches. But Resveratrol etc could help.
My Mother-in-Law started taking a thyroid medication, and her hair started growing back slightly darker. She was 80 at the time. Unfortunately, I don't remember the name, and she died a few years later from lung cancer (she smoked). Adele Davis, a pioneer in vitamin research, recommended Pantothenic Acid to retain color in the hair, but I didn't realize it might help reverse graying. Thanks for the info!
At 40yrs , no single gray hair even on beard. I always eat a lot of meat, especially beef, salomon, chicken , salats , and wholegrain pasta, rice, to keep blalance. I noticed, that many vegetarians get grey hair earlier, must be deficit of B6, B12.
Which video is best to watch for a person without a gallbladder? I just started watching your videos, and all this information is extremely helpful. Thank you so much.
I wouldn't go that high. I know people over 60 with little to no grey and they've all led busy and stressful lives. They all had something that they were consuming.
I still haven't gone grey and I'm 60yrs old. My mum didn't go grey until her mid 60s and her mum passed with black hair in her late 60s. It was funny during lockdown because my nieghbours confessed they always thought i was secretly dying it and over lockdown it became obvious that I was not.
I have seen a few people with stressed situations turn grey, they when the situation went away, the grey went away over time. I have noticed the same with myself. I was more grey last year than now. Last year way a bad year for me. This year is better, and my hair is less grey, no kidding!
As health videos go, this one's a ten - no excessive intro, chapters for easy navigation, no crappy predictable non-advice. I hope there's a heads-up at the end - for people who might seek quick and dangerous routes like overdosing with supplements. (I'm too lazy to watch till the end)
My mother passed away at 77 years of age and had dark brown hair her whole life. Her diet was mediocre until the last 10 years of her life when she cleaned things up; went organic & cut out gluten etc. she was pretty high strung and always seemed kind of stressed out and agitated. Her father died at 87 and was pretty much the same personality and hair color. Both my mother and grandfather were born in Sweden. Not every Swedish person has blonde hair. 😅 I would say genetics have a much bigger role in hair color.
@@thegalhorowitz She ate more smoked fish than salmon, also ate fish eggs and various organ meats (paté) and sylta which is head cheese. Probably good genes as well.
I am 70 years old and my hair hasn't changed yet. I have been wondering why for years. I am a natural blonde and have never dyed my hair. I smoked cigarettes up until the age of 60 and I don't drink alcohol nor do I take any illicit drugs. I consider myself lucky I guess. 🤷🏼♀️
My neighbor who lived to 100 years young, didn't start getting grey hair until after she was ninety seven when she went to a nursing home. I actually thought she had been wearing a wig because it was always so thick and a consistent medium brown. Then when I went to visit her in a nursing home, I brushed her hair. That was no wig. I asked her how she kept her hair so thick with zero grey and she said she figured it was just proper nutrition and being calm in stressful situations. Because she found the nursing home stressful and the food was different from what she normally would eat, she began getting grey hair very quickly.

What is nmn & what other supplements did you use?

I am in my 60s and have very little gray, even though I have endured periods of great stress over the last 20+ years. My mom also grayed early. I took the advice given in the Aubrey organics book and began taking paba and pantothenic acid together, intermittently since my late 20s. It definitely has had a positive effect. Fasting also helps hair grow back and NOT gray!
Thanks for sharing, any more tips you'd like to share please?

The model you used for your tile portrays a model that is simply stunning in silvery gray hair!
I thought the same. 😂

Did you took zinc too?
I've also seen that the aminoacid l-methionine helps get rid of hidrogen peroxide and lot of people could regrow darker hair.
Yeah, I had a few grey ones before I got out of high school. My dad was snow white by the time he was 50, and now so am I. I love my full, thick head of white hair.

And I'm also despising how much Jlo gets credit for looking so young for her age. Not all women age the same and people need to stop congratulating women for aging a certain way. My mother did not look like Jlo at 50, and that's more than ok. It's human to age. Meanwhile, men can age and it's whatever.

Copper is extremely healing! It was used in agriculture for thousands of years to facilitate plant growth. Due to a nefarious agenda there is too much iron in our soil, and even garden implements are made of iron, as opposed to when they were copper. Electroculture is coming back now exponentially, with huge yields.
whats Electroculture
And still a lot of people, especially women have an iron deficiency…

Of course, we need to learn to accept signs of aging - however for some people especially those in 20's or 30s it's important to take note of your hair in case this is a sign that your body isn't functioning properly!

I don’t think going gray or white is a terrible thing. I began growing white hairs at the age of 13. My father was the same. I am now almost 56 years old, and decided to grow out my white hair. I’m very excited to see the end result. If I don’t like it, I can always color it again.
