So I have severe panic attacks and sometimes I can listen to meditation music and it helps. When I heard this, it took me to a level of calm I never felt before. I found my new meditation song. Thank you so much for doing what you do. You are amazing.

That was a surprise. Yet another way that Elizabeth is cool and charismatic.
I've always wondered why she never tried to replicate songs she reacts to or shows of her voice such as Ken Tamplin does in his reactions. Now I understand, it's because she'd literally break her recording equipment from the sheer power of her voice. This is incredible.
I noticed Taplin has ego attached to his videos. Among other things, I'm a radio/sound engineer. I made a comment about mixing vs Auto tune once, and he snipped at me. I don't see that being part of Elizabeth's nature! Though, at least he does respond to a lot of comments, and he's pretty good.

Do you know remember when you first heard metal mixed with operatic/classical singing, you were amazed at how well it worked. Well here is something else you may not know yet, but us fans of Metal/Opera do. You really would be the perfect voice and face of a symphonic metal band.

as a 16 year veteran of the HORDE, and an undead since day one, hearing the Lament of the Highborne in this manner is simply stunning. I still have the trinket on my oldest character that plays this tune in-game. Sylvanas is my favorite of all the major characters in the story of Azeroth because there is so much depth to it, so many twists and turns, and i have notions about her role in the current Shadowlands expansion, and ive been accurate on other assumptions prior to releases and updates. excellent piece, wonderful cosplay! subbed because of THIS

Thank you. This channel is fantastic. Actual analysis, not someone just sitting there mouth hanging open looking like a like a carp. Time signatures, polyrhythms, tonality, overtone, on and on…now expanding metal-heads heads with opera. Fantastic. I oddly want to listen to a particular duet of Panis Angelicus now. Would love to see your take on that performance actually.

Layne is credited for the "pointers", and a little bird (or two) told me that Elizabeth was discussing and/or learning the vocal percussion parts with him for this performance.
I would imagine if the little birds were wrong, then the performance might have been credited as:
Elizabeth - Main vocals, backing vocals, random vocal fart noises
Layne - Vocal percussion, actual beatboxing.
Just a hunch.
(Disclaimer: Unless the little birds were drunk, and my "LittleBirdese" is rusty.)

Wait so I just discovered this channel through your Sound of Silence reaction, and I see you've done a video covering one of the most haunting pieces of music in the only game I've play AND YOU COSPLAYED AS SYLVANAS?!

Wow couldnt believe it when i saw the title. As a long time warcraft fan seing this from my favourite youtuber is definetely the best thing that happened this year. I think a quick explanation of the context of this song is in order so here we go. Shortly, this song is about Sylvanas, she was the elven ranger general in one of the biggest elven kingdom. During this period Arthas (the future Lich King) started raising an army of undead and attacking her kingdom because he needed their source of power. Unfortunately she stood no chance in front of him but she fought relentlessly. Arthas killed her and as revenged he raised her as a banshee and forced her to kill her own people. She broke free from his control and togheter with all the other undead that did the same thing she raised the kingdom of Undercity (the undead capital in warcraft). From this point on her whole purpose in life was to get revenge on the Lich King for the crimes he did. Its very important to note that the undead in warcraft are not evil, but when they are raised they loose all emotions and feelings. All that is left is reason and in her case the only thing she feels in desire vengeance. We as players find in game an item called The Lady's necklace and we are told to return it to Sylvanas. When we get to her we find out that this was actually her sister's necklace and upon seeing it, it stirs some emotions in her that she quickly denies and she dismisses us. Imediately after this 3 of her servents start playing this song, which is an elven hymn, kinda giving us the idea that there is still something else. Well this happened more that 10 years ago in the game and things have changed a lot since :)

It's also one of the most beautiful songs of the whole game. The Battle for Undercity was one of the most epic quests ever. Sylvanas has changed a bit, though. And yes, it was really fantastic to hear Elizabeth singing it

I will make it easy for you. Even if she decided to cosplay for example Ironman, and was flying around in an actual full metal suit that fired small guided missiles, her cosplay could not be superior to her singing, it is not possible. So while this cosplay is exceptional, well, I believe I made my point.

As I listen to this beautiful musical piece, I realize, I have been narrow minded in the recent past when it came to my opinion on opera. I was never really someone who enjoyed the operatic format; the music was always fantastic; however I never really enjoyed the vocal parts of opera since the language was something which I could not understand. After listening to this, even though it is not opera, I now realize it is not the understanding of the story which is important. What is important is recognizing feeling the mood and enjoying the beautiful sounds. Thank you for this realization, it was beautiful.

What a costume. Different! The trees and light snow in this video reminds me of West Virginia. My home state has been and still is big in the timber business. That was awesome! I'm a long time WoW/Warcraft (now retired) player, I never liked playing Horde, but this song... I've made Horde characters just to hear it. :D
Also, on the Warcraft lore, this song tells so much... it's about the time when the kingdom of Quel'Thalas fell to the hands of the Scourge, and Sylvanas Windrunner (the character Elizabeth is cosplaying) was slain and turned into a banshee by the death knight Arthas. Later he invaded Silvermoon (Quel'Thalas' capital), ressurected Kel'Thuzad as a lich and killed all the remaining high elves.
So this song is a lament of those high elves who died on that day. The lyrics on original elvish are:

He didn't kill *all* of the high elves. A large group became Blood Elves, and there is a faction of true high elves still in Stormwind. Some of whom have become void elves in recent years.

I will be honest, I'm usually not into acapella but this was a great performance and arrangement. I have enjoyed it immensely. The visuals are certainly icing on the cake, fantastic imagery.

This is brilliant Elizabeth, no I will correct myself, it's stunning. I would not count myself as an opera fan by any means only stumbling upon your channel when you reviewed Iron Maiden Hallowed be thy name and Ronnie James Dio in Heaven and Hell. Regardless of my rambles I would like to hear more of your work. Fabulous vocal and mix a great vision for the video.
Opera and the kind of metal Dio, Iron Maiden, Within Temptation, Evanescense etc represents is not really that far apart.
Performance wise, opera is in a league of its own, though, since it requires special skill to sing so loud that you don't need a microphone.
For some reason during the Forest scenes I kept expecting Lindsey Stirling to show up with her Violin dressed in either her Zelda or Skyrim outfit.
