Breath control is so incredibly important in opera and she is a master at it. I haven't seen her opera performances before this, but some of the things she did here just blew me away.
A simple answer to the 15:25 question about accents: opera training includes diction training in at least English, French, German, and Italian. There are specific ways to pronounce words in opera to keep the tone and volume (and in some cases, tradition), and those ways aren’t always the same compared to when speaking those same languages. But part of the goal is to have the piece sound effortless - even for the language to sound effortless - even when you aren’t a native speaker. And hardcore opera stans can get a little ornery when someone’s diction is off 😅 so lots and lots of practice is put into just the proper pronunciation.
Yeah. I came to notice French is particularly hard for non-native opera singers. We usually give grace (I do), but it can be distracting to hear some, say, Offenbach piece with a strong Italian accent.

This is awesome. Elizabeth is so talented and she's humble. Will's reaction is entertaining. I was in band for years too. Started piano at 6 and started playing flute in middle school. In highschool i moved to marching a bass drum in marching band and played oboe in concert band. I loved it. I switched to chorus my senior year. I was bored to tears though. We werent taught any techniques just sang show tunes. I was and still am a metalhead and i didn’t care for the show tunes. Ive always liked alot of classical music though. In my mind classical and metal works well together. Years ago i got to see the Three Tenors in concert. It was different but i loved it. Nessum Dorma is my favorite. I get chills.
bands like Fleshgod Apocalypse for me really exemplify how well classical and metal music can work together, especially songs like 'Epilogue', 'The Fool' and 'In Aeternum'. Highly recommend them if you havent heard them already
I loved this. Opera is something that I wouldn't listen to other than live so this is what I love about these reaction videos. You get introduced to so many new musical genre's. I just loved watching how you were almost in tears with pride watching her sing. This brings me to you, not music I listen to but I love examining your singing through her eyes. Learning is best when you put yourself into things unfamiliar

I just went to see Borneo Orchestra Festival last week and my goshhhh,my jaw just dropped to see opera singer singing live. As a metalhead myself, my mind just went nuts. I couldn't explain it by words. You guys should go to opera concert when have the chance to go!

I watch her channel quite a bit, and many "vocalist" channels just curious on people's opinions on vocals and vocalists I love, who have actually had some sort of training to appreciate what they're hearing. I always know they're competent singers but honestly that's as high as I let my expectations go. You could tell she was a good singer, but I'd never seen one video of her singing, which is usually a red flag on channels like that, all I knew was she sang "classically" and had a deep technical understanding. Let me just say, for the record, in public, I was WOEFULLY mistaken, and have been proven the fool. She is insanely good, phenomenally good, Elizabeth I eat my words (and love your vids). You nicht 'em girl, you nicht 'em. Sidenote, does anyone hear the friggin microphone (presumably somewhere equally far away from every musician as well as her) picking up the sound of the instruments richly, yet CLIPPING on her voice??? That means her volume is likely somewhere close to twice that of the instrument. Idk how many of you have heard classical instruments live, but they are deceivingly loud. She is BELTING those 7th octave notes XD Seriously I'm floored dude, wow.

Modern metal and classical are for sure close cousins. If you’re in it for the virtuosity of musicianship, you have to love them both.
IMO Beethoven or Bach and opera vocals is the closest to modern extreme vocals plus metal of any sort.

Breath control is so incredibly important in opera and she is a master at it. I haven't seen her opera performances before this, but some of the things she did here just blew me away.
A simple answer to the 15:25 question about accents: opera training includes diction training in at least English, French, German, and Italian. There are specific ways to pronounce words in opera to keep the tone and volume (and in some cases, tradition), and those ways aren’t always the same compared to when speaking those same languages. But part of the goal is to have the piece sound effortless - even for the language to sound effortless - even when you aren’t a native speaker. And hardcore opera stans can get a little ornery when someone’s diction is off 😅 so lots and lots of practice is put into just the proper pronunciation.

Yeah. I came to notice French is particularly hard for non-native opera singers. We usually give grace (I do), but it can be distracting to hear some, say, Offenbach piece with a strong Italian accent.

This is awesome. Elizabeth is so talented and she's humble. Will's reaction is entertaining. I was in band for years too. Started piano at 6 and started playing flute in middle school. In highschool i moved to marching a bass drum in marching band and played oboe in concert band. I loved it. I switched to chorus my senior year. I was bored to tears though. We werent taught any techniques just sang show tunes. I was and still am a metalhead and i didn’t care for the show tunes. Ive always liked alot of classical music though. In my mind classical and metal works well together.
Years ago i got to see the Three Tenors in concert. It was different but i loved it. Nessum Dorma is my favorite. I get chills.

I loved this. Opera is something that I wouldn't listen to other than live so this is what I love about these reaction videos. You get introduced to so many new musical genre's. I just loved watching how you were almost in tears with pride watching her sing. This brings me to you, not music I listen to but I love examining your singing through her eyes. Learning is best when you put yourself into things unfamiliar

I just went to see Borneo Orchestra Festival last week and my goshhhh,my jaw just dropped to see opera singer singing live. As a metalhead myself, my mind just went nuts. I couldn't explain it by words. You guys should go to opera concert when have the chance to go!

WHOA. DUDE. I watch her channel quite a bit, and many "vocalist" channels just curious on people's opinions on vocals and vocalists I love, who have actually had some sort of training to appreciate what they're hearing. I always know they're competent singers but honestly that's as high as I let my expectations go. You could tell she was a good singer, but I'd never seen one video of her singing, which is usually a red flag on channels like that, all I knew was she sang "classically" and had a deep technical understanding. Let me just say, for the record, in public, I was WOEFULLY mistaken, and have been proven the fool. She is insanely good, phenomenally good, Elizabeth I eat my words (and love your vids). You nicht 'em girl, you nicht 'em. Sidenote, does anyone hear the friggin microphone (presumably somewhere equally far away from every musician as well as her) picking up the sound of the instruments richly, yet CLIPPING on her voice??? That means her volume is likely somewhere close to twice that of the instrument. Idk how many of you have heard classical instruments live, but they are deceivingly loud. She is BELTING those 7th octave notes XD Seriously I'm floored dude, wow.
