Found her classical performances like this one here because I am a metal music fan and her "Charismatic Voice" channel popped up on a search I did for a metal song I liked with her professional singer evaluation of the metal song I loved. So of course, I had to look up her work as a professional singer. I actually run the entire spectrum of music that I like or dislike and have been to several live opera performances over the years so I always appreciate them and the true talent it takes to do that. Elizabeth is a stunning talented vocalist so I appreciate her work and am glad we get to see and hear it!!
The woman. The myth. The legend. The opera singer turned metalhead who has given so much support to the Rock and Metal community in recent years. Expanding the point of view of many and increasing acceptance and understanding on the art and beauty of harsher genres. The one and only Charismatic Voice!
She has also helped drive the a cappella scene to more popularity, too. She is just a lover of music; where good vocals dominate. I had honestly never listened to her sing opera, which hearing this truly gives me even more respect for her kind words toward other singers.

What an absolutely incredible performer. Been a fan of Liz and The Charismatic Voice for quite some time, and _this_ is my introduction? Floored. Absolutely floored. Also, eleven years ago? Woman hasn't aged a _day_ !
I am such a fan of Elizabeth. I grew up in a home with a father who was a famous American classical composer and pianist. My mother was a classically trained singer, but most of her career focused on composing. At the age of 5, I started studying voice, piano and several other instruments. Nobody pushed me to do it, but my love of music was so strong by that age. I had no choice but to pursue it. Over the next 15 years, I studied classical guitar, drums and became a good singer. Good. Not good enough to make a living, but good enough to work in studios, backing up other artists, etc. I've been to operas and classical performances in Vienna, Hamburg, London, New York and Los Angeles. Elizabeth...you are as good as any I have seen or heard. Why? Because many classical singers are so focused on technique that they fail to reach their audience with emotion and passion. In the late 1980s, I was in Vienna and saw Kathleen perform. She was amazing and she did a terrific job connecting with the audience. Her control was stunning. Her pronunciation was perfect. She was at times playful and at times serious. Her ability to sing intervals on pitch with no deviation was stunning...all while changing tempo or intensity. Strauss must have risen from his grave to congratulate her. Well, Elizabeth, you are, in my opinion, her equal. But what I love most about you is the fact that you can appreciate and review pop or rock music, where the singers don't begin to have your skills. My parents always looked down on rock or pop music. They were too damn caught up on pedigree. You on the other hand bring expert analysis, passion and joy to most people who don't know what a chromatic scale is or why it matters. You bring great joy to the masses with your videos and I thank you for what you are doing. I'm a big fan.
Kathleen Battle had way less emotional performance delivery power than Elizabeth! Elizabeth ROCKS the classical world! Also I heard horror stories of how big of a diva Kathleen was. It turned me off of her.

Arguably one of the most difficult opera to sing and Elizabeth nails it while making it look easy. She not only has the song memorized, but memorized in a German with the correct pronunciations! Bravo!
Started off as a 'Charismatic' fan, then looked for her education/career info and found THIS video. Was flabbergasted. Became familiar with opera in 1976 while working lights backstage in New York. This is MAJOR talent. Anyone starting here , look for 'Reaction' / The Charismatic Voice. Popular music, sanctified.
@@TheSeeking2know You need to find the video where she is asked to sit in with a musician who is trying out guitars at a convention. Little ol Elizabeth, goes sure, and there is a microphone there, and her first note, creates massive intensity and scares the living hell out of everyone there. Almost immediately a hand reaches out and starts to pull the mic away, as Elizabeth kinds of smiles, then apologizes that she has never used a microphone before, etc etc.
Ms Zharoff, I have to apologize! I have become a fan of the charismatic voice because i learned more watching your videos than other critics and from years of practicing in church... but many other voice critics or reactors often have "meh" talent themselves, and I'm not proud of it, but I made assumptions... This performance knocked my socks off! That was a clean, bright, and beautifully resonant! You brought fire!!!
She sure did! Hope you have found ways to apply what you learned from her in your church performances. You are so right about many vocal teachers lacking the level of talent or training to match those they are reviewing (especially the high-level singers). I do feel that an adequately trained teacher can critique but it is a rare delight to see a vocal coach reactor who's also a world-class singer herself.
I finally found Elizabeth doing her operatic thing! Try to imagine being in the room with her voice. I can barely. She’s a true gift to all of us. She’s taught me to appreciate life in a whole new way just by watching her unabashed responses to metal songs. Her fluttering eyelashes, her gorgeous smile, everything about her is mind blowing. I loved what she said about Randy Rhoads in particular. I’ll be a forever fan of The Charismatic Voice!
@@codymoe4986he means that it may help opera to be more mainstream. Opera may have been around for 500 years and it is famous indeed, but it is not popular by any means.
This is her performance in the Finals of the Queen Elisabeth Competition 2011 here in Belgium. I'm not into opera at all, but love her RUclips channel The Charismatic Voice because of her enthusiasm in reacting to a wide diversity of songs and musical styles. She definitely shows that classical musicians can also be very open minded in music.
Im a regular watcher of The Charismatic Voice, but knowing and seeing/hearing are 150% different things where Elizabeth is concerned. My gawd girl - even most Opera singers cant pull this off. AMAZING
I have this weird smirk on my face watching certain other "vocal coaches" on YT nowdays. Like, i've found humble gold in Ms Zharoff aka The Charismatic Voice and its given me trust and superpowers to spot all the fakers and pretenders out there.
And that's the PERFECT example of the difference between singing in an operatic style and true opera. Pure projection, no mic required!!! And damn, she's almost metal! I half expected to see her windmill or something...
@@csillaj.6714 Quite something, isn't it??? True opera, performed in an opera hall *never* uses microphones and amps. It's all vocal projection technique and a bit the design of the hall.
THE DIFFERENCES IN VOLUME touch me. She is very emotional in her singing. Powerful lungs. Very physically expressive. The time and effort it takes to get to this level of expertise eludes most of us. Notes I only hit when I stub my toe in the middle of the night. Love her! 😃❤
Not only is she gorgeous, but her set of pipes...oh my God 🤯 💖 Her husband is one of three luckiest men on the planet. I've watched her reaction videos, but this is the first time I've heard her soul.
Watched CV for a while. Love it. Thought id find something where i could hear Elizabeth sing herself. .... uhm ... wow. And her stage presence ... superb.
After hearing The Charismatic Voice reactions, I just HAD to hear her sing opera. I was NOT disappointed. I am a classical music fan but generally not an Opera fan. However, finally hearing E.Z. sing is a sheer joy!
Wow! I’ve watched quite a few of her reaction videos and knew that she knew her stuff, but I didn’t imagine her voice to be this professional!! I’m thoroughly impressed to say the least!!
As a former concertmaster, I would have loved to perform this piece with her. Elizabeth has an incredible set of pipes. Love her reaction videos, but her operatic voice blows me away 💜🖤
Until you hear it for real, live, in the flesh, you have no idea how much you need operatic soprano in your life. At the Last Night Of The Proms last year at the Albert Hall, I heard the incredible Lise Davidsen, the first operatic soprano I'd ever heard. And she blew my f**king mind. The first thought that came to my mind is "how the hell did I get to 58 without this in my life?"
Wow. Now I understand why our girl Elizabeth, aka Charismatic Voice, can react to Floor Jansen's singing with such passion and knowledge! Funny to see a small channel like this getting overrun by the Nightwish Army. 😁
Ok…i have not the slightest idea as to what the hell i just watched/listened to… as tears roll down my cheeks, i am absolutely speechless! That voice! It’s incredible! Her facial expressions, range, tones & fire in her eyes! Again, not a clue what i just witnessed, but i am fascinated to say the very least!!! Wow!
Phenomenal woman. Found her as the charismatic voice on youtube reacting to Floor Jansen. Then switched to her website and came here. This extremely gifted woman is a class of her own. I am extremely impressed. Totally blown away. Such a lovely woman, what a charisma, and what a voice. Out of this world. I hope she will sing a duet some day with Floor. That would be an absolute blast.
The orchestra's reaction is fantastic! Rarely will you see a genuinely joyful response from master musicians like this. She also adds so much to this amazing vocal with her theatrical and joyful presentation. I'm a fan!
I was blown away and memorized by her singing. She was going through so many emotions that she was pouring sweat at the end. I love emotional singers cause you can truly see their passion for music
Elizabeth is truly the voice of an Angel here on earth that gave me goosebumps for 8 minutes straight. Bravo She is a Legend and now the Charismatic Voice!
Can watch this over and over again and am still stunned by her voice. Fellow metalhead that learned about Elizabeth from her channel evaluating some of my favorite songs also
Wow! This performance IS metal! \m/ Elizabeth might not have realized it at the time, but she WAS metal before she listened to her first note of the genre.
I maintain that metal has taken the mantle of the most creative of the musical arts from opera. I think any metalhead given a decent introduction to opera will become an operahead in no time flat. Like Wagner. You like heavy metal? HOW ABOUT 900 POUNDS OF BRASS!? HEAVY ENOUGH FOR YOU!? 🤣
The normal saying is Classical music is Rock/Metal unplugged. The same can be said for Opera. Think about it. How well does a a symphony work backing up a Rock or Metal band. Doesn’t work as well with other genres. Hell you have a Symphonic Metal genre.
Damn! I have been watching her reaction videos for awhile and decided on a whim to see if there were any of her singing. I had no idea! She is absolutely amazing...

"making it look easy"... Ummmm.... I never sweat that much doing anything easy. Juuust saying. Ha ha
For music, this difficult, one usually has to practice it so many times that it's almost not possible to memorize it.
I did not exspect her to be this staggeringly good.
This girl who was devestated by the brilliance of Dio singing is a treasure
Notice that her voice is not amplified in any way. Yes, the orchestra is controlling their levels, but she's projecting above everything. Goodness.
Like seriously! Projecting just from her lungs and vocal instrument. She would be so loud to hear in person (still without amplification)!
@@toddstevens13 you mean "When You're NOT Prepared for the POWER! of an Opera Singer" by Sean Daniel :-)
?? That’s common in opera. Never been to a concert?
Sure, @@fcturner , but it's pretty unusual in the world of YT reacters. :)
I can honestly say that I've never sat through an entire operatic piece. The charismatic wonder nailed it. That's one for the bucket list. 😊
It's a sign of strong character to stand up to a false assumption and to correct yourself
she is amaing yes great
I finally found Elizabeth doing her operatic thing!
Who is from The Charismatic Voice? Fantastic job, Elizabeth!
I wish I could go back in time and be there applauding
Elizabeth is not only amazing opera singer but also a gifted ambassador of the opera to new internet audience. I hope it will help popularizing opera.
Yes! I agree with this.
Popularize opera? It's been around for the better part of 500 years now...
@@codymoe4986he means that it may help opera to be more mainstream. Opera may have been around for 500 years and it is famous indeed, but it is not popular by any means.
Yes!
@@codymoe4986But it's still a nichè genre of music. Nowhere near as popular as pop, rock, metal or rap.
Elizabeth Zharoff is a goddess of all music genres. Truly amazing.
Is that like the X Factor of opera?
More like the Nobel prize😊
yes absoutely
Im a regular watcher of The Charismatic Voice, but knowing and seeing/hearing are 150% different things where Elizabeth is concerned. My gawd girl - even most Opera singers cant pull this off. AMAZING
I have this weird smirk on my face watching certain other "vocal coaches" on YT nowdays. Like, i've found humble gold in Ms Zharoff aka The Charismatic Voice and its given me trust and superpowers to spot all the fakers and pretenders out there.
Well yeah, but her reactions are almost zero technical or explanatory. Then I’d prefer Tara Simon…
I never realized how talented Elizabeth is!!!
Her voice and technique are off the charts!!
Elizabeth Zharoff might be the most perfect creature ever to walk the earth. I'm smitten.
I wholeheartedly agree, I worship her
She's a goddess yes
Simps
@@dontbothertoreply9755 🤣
It's the first time I've ever heard you perform Elizabeth. You have a voice like an angel. Absolutely amazing control.
And that's the PERFECT example of the difference between singing in an operatic style and true opera. Pure projection, no mic required!!! And damn, she's almost metal! I half expected to see her windmill or something...
Re: windmill:
That is the only way she could have improved this performance. Truly.
I just realized that she didn't use mic in this big space.. OMG I am amezed so much :o
Love her! 😃❤
All her reaction videos gained so much credibility in my eyes now.
TRIUMPHANT! My goosebumps have goosebumps!! Totally intoxicating
Not only is she gorgeous, but her set of pipes...oh my God 🤯 💖
Her husband is one of three luckiest men on the planet.
I've watched her reaction videos, but this is the first time I've heard her soul.
Who are the other two?
@@plasticmollusc lol, I forgot about this comment. It was a typo. It should've been "the" 😂
Love watching her analyse the world of rock music.Had no idea she could sing like this.outstanding and so powerful.
Not much of an opera fan, but the wondrous power and virtuosity of the performance by Elizabeth blows me away. I could listen for hours…..and will!
Watched CV for a while. Love it. Thought id find something where i could hear Elizabeth sing herself. .... uhm ... wow. And her stage presence ... superb.
I had heart attack 😭...omg is this charismatic voice that I've been watching recently 🙂..... what a talented woman
Elizabeth has such a Charismatic Voice! I love it!
Holy Mother of Jesus, is there no end to your talent? Elizabeth, I’m speechless.. 😮
OMG. I had no idea what an extraordinary voice Elizabeth has😮.
Wow!
If you wanna know more about it, here's a reaction video that she did: ruclips.net/video/TONPtYZeOSQ/видео.html
I love emotional singers cause you can truly see their passion for music
i will never understand how anyone can sing this way, just amazing
By using every single muscle in the body. Notice how her neck and back were drenched after the performance.
Holy cow. I had no idea she could sing like this. Brava!!!
Elizabeth is truly the voice of an Angel here on earth that gave me goosebumps for 8 minutes straight.
Bravo
She is a Legend and now the Charismatic Voice!
Nightwish fan here - I was clapping hands at home at 1:45 am ... Respect
1:53 AM here and SAME
1:45 1:53
Can watch this over and over again and am still stunned by her voice. Fellow metalhead that learned about Elizabeth from her channel evaluating some of my favorite songs also
Same! I grown to enjoy classical music after playing violin in an orchestra for 8 years, this is amazing
what a fantastic voice and technique she has. So adorable.
Wow! This performance IS metal! \m/
Elizabeth might not have realized it at the time, but she WAS metal before she listened to her first note of the genre.
bullshit 🤡🤡💩💩
The normal saying is Classical music is Rock/Metal unplugged. The same can be said for Opera. Think about it. How well does a a symphony work backing up a Rock or Metal band. Doesn’t work as well with other genres. Hell you have a Symphonic Metal genre.
Damn! I have been watching her reaction videos for awhile and decided on a whim to see if there were any of her singing. I had no idea! She is absolutely amazing...
I've been a fan of Elizabeth's reaction videos on the Charismatic Voice for awhile now, so I came to check this out. I'm not much of an opera fan, but THAT WAS FREAKING AMAZING
As breathtaking as this performance was, that sweat-drenched smile at the end was the real moment of zen.
WOW 😳 Holy...wow. I mean, I knew she's an opera singer, but I had no idea what to expect. Well, she's definitely a true soprano!! Absolutely stunning and breathtaking. WOW.
I came across her channel 'The Charismatic Voice' only yesterday. Have since binged and re-watched her metal reactions - I have never before been into reaction videos ... Not that I needed any proof that she knows what she is talking about! But damn, what a performance! Einfach nur großartig! Would love to see her and Floor (or Simone of Epica) nerd about singing and about complex symphonic metal music!
Same. She's fun to watch, so quirky and genuine.
Is ja schon wieder ein bisschen her. 😅 Ihnen eine schöne Woche!
@@jo_g.germany As an American I must say we need @The_Charismatic_Voice to do some Rammstein reactions!!
I’m in love with this woman, ❤ what a voice and smile❤
💫Gorgeous💫👍👏👏👏
Upon conclusion of the song, Elizabeth's facial expression shouts "yeah, that's right...I just sang the $#!+ outta that one!!" Bravo
Wow, just wow !!! Just when you thought you couldn't love Elizabeth any more I finally see this ! What a talented I dividial, yet so humble at the same time.
HOLY SHIT!! What an incredible voice!
Now I know why The Charismatic Voice is top notch of all RUclips reactors. She knows what she is talking about - much different to so many others. All hands up for this wonderful woman!
Elizabeth, `You are a star. No more, no less. You are loved. Simple as that
Latecomer here, though I've been watching her videos for a year or two. Wow, this is absolutely astonishing in its power and beauty. And I'm not even an opera fan (though I *was* a grad student in Musicology 50yrs ago). 🙂
Such grace! I am pretty sure that, toward the end, after Ms. E. shook hands with the conductor and concertmaster, as she turned upstage toward the orchestra, she requested that they stand for recognition as well. Maestra move!
Not only is her Voice genuinely awesome, but her German here is also just wunderbar! 🥹💖🥂
Have seen some (definitively not all, but working on fixing that) of Elizabeths videos (charismatic voice) where she reacts and analyzes other artists voices. It is absolutely clear in those that she LOVES music, and she REALLY knows her stuff. They are an absolute joy to see due to her knowledge and enthusiasm. Here she proves without a shadow of a doubt that she can back up her talk. Would love seeing her on stage performing in a real opera.
Wow, Elizabeth can sing like this, and yet appreciates Heavy Metal. Kudos to the girl!
Game recognizes game.
Mozart and metal aren't so far divorced from one another as many would think...
@@mrsanity Exactly. I am a metalhead, but I also love opera. Folks like Mozart were the metal of their time.
What an amazing use of her singing hole!! She gave it her all.
It’s fun to recognize her emotional expressions like those she use in Charismatic Voice. And we love her for that. Brilliant!
She melted faces wow that’s a hell of a talent😊
Wow! She was doing so much with her voice, it was _insane!_ Take a moment to appreciate how much practice and effort went into this performance! She absolutely _killed_ it!! 👏👏🤩🤩
This is exactly why I respect her vocal analysis! So beautiful in range and style!
As a fan of TCV, this is also my first time hearing her sing. Words fail me!
Some of those runs are so difficult yet she made it sound so effortless. She is definitely the Charismatic voice.
Omg my first time Hearing Elizabeth sing
It's a flooring experience to hear Elizabeth singing. Over the years I blew a lot of money on an audiophile sound system for my home and listening to her sing on it blows me away and that's just this RUclips video. I cannot imagine what it would be like to hear her live!!!
That is a proper workout. So much controlled power and finesse. Bravo.
We’re all so proud of our adopted metal girl. I’m blown away!
Stunning. What beautiful singing. And such a difficult piece as well. Another who was brought here from her Nightwish reactions and analysis. I hope to see her sing with the Philadelphia Orchestra someday.
I wonder what the great Ann Wilson would have to say about THIS incredible performance? I’m beyond impressed. Honey, you CRUSHED this most difficult and demanding of arias. Brava!!! I must tell you I sat here in my (humble) living room and applauded.
