Lots of us somewhat older Metalheads do listen to lots of types of good music. And you can't be a music aficionado without having listened to at least Pavarotti, Carreras and Placido Domingo, and Montserrat Caballé, Maria Callas or at least Sarah Brightman.

lots of metalheads play computergames too and love to listen to the original soundtracks of them too - and surprse, they are classic music ;)

@@angeldogx You can't legitimately claim to have good taste in music if you dismiss any genre. Good music comes in many forms. Metal happens to be closest to my heart, but that doesn't keep me away from classical, hip hop or techno and anything in between.

She has multiple degrees in music and voice from the Curtis Institute of Music, Oberlin Conservatory, and Berklee College of Music.. She is legit and what makes this even cooler is she isnt stuck up or someone who only listens and mingles with opera she is the friendliest kindest most down to earth sweet woman .. I mean she has sung all those languages for the highest societies and wealthiest people but yet enjoys listening to Lorna Shore or Slipknot and talking about the vocals and now even calls herself a fellow maggot ha ha ha she is cool as hell i love her personality and charisma and she also is very beautiful

You are absolutely correct... Elizabeth puts her emotions out on her sleeve for everyone to see with her reactions and analysis of the music she shares with us all. It helps that she is fully fluent in Italian, if I understand correctly. There are many opera singers who know how to say the words and might have good diction and so know how to say/sing them correctly, but don't fully understand what the emotions of the lyrics they are singing. But by really knowing the Italian language, Elizabeth knows what the meaning of the lyrics are and can reflect the emotions of the lyrics in her voice and body.

I love attending classical performances. Why? Here she makes the air vibrate with her vocal cords and you as a listener feel the air vibrating with the pure voice. If someone sings into a microphone, the voice moves a membrane, this is translated into electric impulses which are sent through electronic circits which add effects and send them to amplyfiers from where they finally reach speakers which set the air in motion for you to hear. If you ever felt a big concert hall vibrating from a trained unamplified voice you never forget that experience.

      Johann Wolfgang von Goethe (1749-1832)
      from: „Faust“, original version, 1776
      My peace has fled,
and heavy is my heart -
      never shall I find it,
      never again.
Wherever I do not have him
      is my grave -
      my entire world
      has been poisoned.
      My poor head
      has lost its mind
      my poor senses
      shattered to pieces.
      Only in search of him
do I look out of my window -
      only in pursuit of him
      do I leave my house.
      His high gait
      his noble figure
      the smile of his mouth
      the force of his gaze
And the magic flow of his speech,
the pressure of his hands -
      and oh! his kiss!
      My peace has fled
      heavy is my heart,
      never shall I find it,
      never again.
My womb is driven to him,
      could I but grasp him
      and hold him
and kiss him to the fullest
      And die of his kiss!

At high school I was a metalhead, I left and began working in a large touring theatre. It was fantastic, bands like UFO, MSG, Rush, Black Sabbath, Gillan played weekly. Weekdays other performances arrived and I received a great musical education. English National Opera, Sadlers Wells Royal Ballet, Welsh Opera and Scottish Opera. I ended up with friends from everywhere who played and sung for the greatest companies. Although I now live in Wales, I know that they don't have the best singers. English National Opera do and Scottish Opera had the best orchestra.
If you look through my records, tapes, cds or playlists now you will not be able to pur me in a category, except eclectic.

Never before have I heard an interpretation that elevates these EARLIEST songs by Verdi on Italian translations of texts from Goethe's "Faust" to the melodic and dramatic level of the best music from Verdi's early operas - long before "Nabucco"! What a genius Verdi was! "Sul vascel del finestrino" actually anticipates "Amami, Alfredo!"

I can believe it when A.K. mentions her mother's voice as being very similar to your own LOVELY one. My mother used to sing with the Chautauqua Opera Company during their seasons and also played a piano in our living room in company with Jack Danziger and Laszlo Varga in duet formats. She was a Soprano who sang enough Opera that I developed a taste for it and music in general from my early years that has persisted for my entire life. I have always thanked God for my time spent with her and her albeit short life (51) but she was nonetheless an inspiration to me for the time she was alloted to spend with me.💔
