There are some great life lessons to pick up here. Lesson 1: Show genuine appreciation. None of Frank's constant compliments to Donna are lies or insincere. He shows true interest in what interests her. lesson 2: Keep it classy, if the situation demands it. Frank has met a girl in an upscale dining room, with a specific clientele. Frank constantly compliments her, but never get prurient or gross. She's not the kind of girl to appreciate crass talk in public. Lesson 3: Turn your weaknesses into strengths. Frank never tries to hide his blindness, he owns it. He compliments her scent and her sound, which she can be certain was true. lesson 4: Don't let the other guy get the upper hand. When she says that her date thinks the tango is "hysterical," but she likes it, Frank subtly drags him down, while maintaining the classy and upbeat tone, saying the date is hysterical. Lesson 5: build up your friends: Frank will always flatter a woman, but he knows that donna is way too young for him. He expresses admiration for her Grandmother, who is probably closer to Frank's age, and gives compliments to Charlie, who is much closer to Donna in age. This scene is a masterfully written, and masterfully acted, by all the people in the scene. Wonderful!

No mistakes in tango… not like life. A beautiful, encouraging simplicity. A simple desire to live which overcomes their fears and overcomes his darkness. I think that's the main message of the movie.
I always thought Gabrielle Anwar was/is one of the most underrated actresses around. Sweet, cute and exceptionally pretty. Of course, talented. Not a big part in this movie. But she played it perfectly. I like scenes like this. We all know what it feels like to be shy and awkward. But before the dance had ended, she felt good, happy and proud of herself. A truly great movie. And very gifted actors. 😉

U hope my mom up in heaven remembers that scene. But kets face it. Now she can watch it at her leisure. God bless all the optimistic people who c it as half full
In my writer's mind, shortly after Charlie and Frank parted their ways, Charlie ran into Donna once again, not by chance. He had learned something-he had confidence and life could be lived "in a minute". So he went back to this hotel, just in case, only not to see the lovely Donna. But, he heard a familiar sounding voice. Michael's. Even though he had only heard it once before and only briefly, he knew it to be him. He could not remember what he looked like, as his memory only held Donna's image. He followed Michael and it turned out to be a short walk. There before him, was Donna. He thought he'd hesitate, but....He walked over and said hello. She smiled sweetly and could not contain her joy of seeing him again. She let out a sigh, as of relief. It was. She was not wanting to go pick out her China pattern for their future dinner table, or for that matter, the dining table itself, with her future mother-in-law. They just exchange the proper conversation. Michael, being annoyed, said perhaps they should go...they shook hands and before saying good-bye she said that she often went to the hotel , sometimes just for tea, to listen to the band that played the lovely tango. They turned and left. Charlie could still smell the scent of Ogleby's Sister Soap, and it was worth every trip that he had been making to where they first met. Frank was going to be proud. Donna endured her afternoon of shopping with Michael's mother who brought her mother along as well and of course her own mother. She choose whatever they finally decided should be what she wanted. When it became time to part to get ready for supper , she left the three of them as they shrugged her silliness and she finally went her own way. Her way. She told them she just needed some tea. She smiled at herself when she saw Charlie waiting there for her. She hadn't even doubted it. He would never keep her waiting or tell her where to go. It was going to be a mess to take care of, but she hated that china pattern. She hated the ugly invitations they had chose for she and Michael. She realized that she hated Michael as well. Charlie gave a kiss on the cheek and said, "I am glad you came by. I've been wondering something." She asked, "What is that?" He replied with the same shy smile that she had remembered, "I have been wanting to learn the Tango. I thought -well, I hoped, you still wanted to learn as well." As it turned out, Frank was right. Her Grandmother loved Charlie. And-became quite fond of Frank herself. She loved to Tango.

I like the reactions of the people watching in the background…a brilliant scene, movie magic.
Al Pacino, one of the best movie actors I've seen... truly the Legend
Such a great actor. Al Pacino is a true legend.
No mistakes in tango… not like life. A beautiful, encouraging simplicity. A simple desire to live which overcomes their fears and overcomes his darkness. I think that's the main message of the movie.
the look in his blind eyes.... I have no words to describe!
One of my all time favourite movies scenes. Just perfect.
E minha também. Não canso de revisitar essa cena, magistralmente interpretada por Al Pacino! 👏👏👏👏👏❤️
When movies were art! Thanks for being so good!
And a marvelous dancer. A true talent.
Al Pacino is a legend
Can't believe he got snubbed so many times by the Academy.
I can watch this masterpiece again and again....
AND I DO!
What can you say about Pacino. WOW.
He deserved oscars for other movies.
Not this one?
So sweet, simple romantic.. and the music
She follows his strong lead...even if blindly
I always thought Gabrielle Anwar was/is one of the most underrated actresses around. Sweet, cute and exceptionally pretty. Of course, talented. Not a big part in this movie. But she played it perfectly. I like scenes like this. We all know what it feels like to be shy and awkward. But before the dance had ended, she felt good, happy and proud of herself. A truly great movie. And very gifted actors. 😉
Just shows he is and always will be the,one of or the best actors to ever grace our presence
The most superb actor out of Hollywood.
The cast wonderful, but Al Pacino is beyond words. Great acror in any movie, but this one, is really spectacular.
Breath taking, Bravo Eternal actor Al Pacino
This young lady in this movie is absolutely adorable! Al Pacino is a great actor and the young man is too , the young lady is so beautiful!!
My heart beats a little quicker watching this scene. Pacino is magnificent 💙
I had just come across this video clip now, and i remember so much about this movie, i love movies but they don't make movies like this anymore. Al Pacino is one great actor and the likes of Robert De Niro Too. They are one of my best actors. Good movies is the same in all perspectives, language and culture🤷🏻♂, that i have come to know over the years 😃..
I wish your day to be filled with love, joy 🤭and happiness😏. Writing from Lincolnshire England!🍁
I was a student of dance in John Dewey HS and a half a street dancer in my youth- the best dance scenes in cinema were- Armand Assante I Mambo kings , Arnold in true lies and Al in Scent off- all untrained alpha males but their spirituality exceeds technique. Moments to die for. Long live cinema!😊
Wow, Gabrielle was so charming, and the way she moves, just lovely. ❤
Its Russell again- one night 30 years ago my mother cane diwn frilom upstate ny( im a divirce kid lol😊) and we went out cabareting with my Godmother. I made my mom watch this scene on a rented out cooy of Scent of a woman- it def increased the vibe n pos mood that eve. Pacino is priceless the way he hilds on to Gabrielle the way a blund man would even if hes an alpha show off n Gabrielle is shall we say- sublime. Beautiful cinematic moment. U hope my mom up in heaven remembers that scene. But kets face it. Now she can watch it at her leisure. God bless all the optimistic people who c it as half full

Scent of the Women, one my best movie. Al Pacino is one of greatest Actor
Heart melting
Damn! That’s excellent!
Dancing right along with you. Thank you!
Omg. U made my day.
Wow
Al Pacino is a fine wine, better in time.😊😊😊
Great scene! Gabrielle is so lovely in this scene!
Just watched Scent of a Women and I am in Love With This Legend!!! AL PACINO is the King of Acting. One Trophy cannot proves his worth. Man What are the days to be live in 90's (I born in 2005). First Time Hollywood Gave Award to a Worthy one.
I loved to watch them dance so well beautifully done bravo 👏
This movie shows real feelings, real life situations, real hard aches, real challenges, real trust in others, real justice but most of all, a sense that anything can be done with the power of will. These movies do not exist anymore because, this society doesn't exist anymore
I absolutely love this excerpt of Col. Slade dancing the Tango with Donna!
This scene is simply breathtaking ❤❤❤
Yes❤, that Oscar belongs to him for sure!❤
She is very pretty, and he is a wonderful actor. I think he won the Oscar this year (the movie's year). He definitely deserved it
Gabrielle Anwar is one of the most beautiful women in the history of motion pictures.❤
Right
every time I watch this, It brings me back to my teenage memories when my dad taught me how to dance. I miss him.
