the shortcut on xbox racing wheel is right turn 1 o clock left turn 11 oclock back to right turn 1 oclock then tap the gas pedal, I always get my DPs this way
This video is the best I’ve seen in years, for explaining the reason for using the crouching DP vs other methods. I will be passing this RUclips video on to others for sure!
I’m a master Ken and have always struggled with the dp input when standing on the right side. This is the best dp input video I’ve ever seen. Thank you so much. Subscribed!
This is the best video I have seen. I legit am beyond frustrated with the DP input in this game. Turns out I'm still playing 5 with my forward then QCF. Thanks so much!
In all my years I never thought about hadoken ending in forward. I think you helped me fireball game tremendously because I eat a lot of jump ins since I try to reinput forward for the SRK motion. 🎉
Thanks for creating your instructional videos bro. I’ve been learning a lot and have been steadily improving and moving up the ranks. Channels like yours are why I come to RUclips and become a subscriber. I also share your videos with my street fighter friends.
If anyone is on Hitbox or keyboard, I HIGHLY recommend learning the Instant DP method. To do it, you hold F, then F+D, tap U+P with right hand. It's basically one fluid motion and removes the step of releasing a button. It's so quick I can consistently DP things like Honda's headbutt, Blanka ball, and a ton of other moves people don't generally expect us to DP. The only downsides are that it's harder to convert into CA from this method and of course doesn't have the low profile of crouching DP. But this method is so easy and quick to do from neutral, I never really have to think about it. I just see them leave the ground and boom, DP.
I appreciate this video explains a lot of why I get a fireball at times when I’m trying to DP a opponent. So going to practice this and going to take the other advice in the video by actually warming up before just playing matches with the homies or online this should increase my chances a bit more. 🤘💯
Super helpful thank you! Another potential video idea is what sort of things you can do in training mode to improve your Ryu or get better in general at the game.
As a small thing for leverless players as well: I've found that you can hold down and tap forward repeatedly, and for some reason, you won't get super no matter what. So you can always get your dp to come out, although it might not be the cleanest way to do it in theory. That being said, it seems to work just about every time for me.
I only use this in situations where I am not in immediate danger of needing to block. I don't use this in neutral but it makes it easy to get consistent wakeup reversal and you could use it after throwing fireball pretty well.
Great vid. My only hesitation with the 'execute DP from couching' idea is that it roots you to the spot, whereas if you're schmooving back and forth you're more able to bait whiffs. When moving back and forth you also often have your finger on forward, and from there it is super fast to get a DP. I also have a hangover from Sakura in SF5 that when I'm crouching I use crHP to anti-air, but in SF6 with Ryu that gets you crossed up, so I prefer the walk back and forth by default.
Thanks for your videos. They very useful as always. I am slowly improving and getting some good results with Ryu but it's a long journey and there are many great opponents online. Anyway, as italian fan of your channel, allow me to say that you have a good taste in t-shirts ;)
Thank you!!! Please tell me you support AC Milan 😂 it’s one of the reasons why my branding is red and black! I’ve always loved Italy I really want to visit
@@machoortv I used to be an AC Milan supporter years ago when Roberto Baggio was playing in that team, now I am not into football like I use to be. All the best ;)
I am an idiot and didn't think to hold the forward input for the anti Air after a fireball. I do the shortcut for a super after a DP but didn't think to use that technique for a DP
For the crouching dp shortcut he mentioned, you don't have to do downback. You can do down-forward, down, down-forward and that counts as a DP input. Similarly, there's a DP shortcut for standing straight. It's forward, down-forward, forward. You might find this easier than regular DP input, especially in combos.
Maybe what's easier depends on the input device? Machoor is on pad -- I will experiment to see what works best for me on hitbox. Let me know your conclusions.
Yes that’s absolutely true but I like the one I mentioned because on pad if I hold down from down forward, sometimes it is still registered as down forward so it comes out as one input instead of two, making me get a fireball instead
@@machoortv I'm on pad too actually. But I use the split dpad buttons from battle beaver. They make a down input on pad always a down input and nothing else. Worth looking into, they have a learning curve but they definitely improve consistency. The buttons are inexpensive and unbreakable, but unfortunately if you're not in the US you'll pay a fortune in shipping. Still worth it for me, as even if my dualsense breaks I can just pop the buttons out and use them again.
Its becauze cammys inputs are the same as Ryu. In street fighter theres 3 types of players. Ones like ryu where you do quarter circle and Z motion inputs, ones who use charge motion and then gief who uses alot of full circle motion
I played sf5 sporadically and I come from NRS games so even though I remember how ez DPs were in SFV I’m used to games where anti airs were truly atrocious and non existent so even though DPs are hard I’m just happy I can do them. I do feel like crosscut DPs though are waaay 2 difficult. Also tip for shoto players specifically ken if you throw slow fireball and they jump on reaction to it you have time to DP any situation where you block the jump in even in situations where you you feel like you were almost about to get punished any situations where you can block you can DP. Also the mindgame with perfect parry on jump in is the same as flawless block in MK11 for any of you who played that trash game.
I didn’t play NRS games competitively but I’m glad to have one of you here, trust me I never had a problem with DPs in SFV also cross cuts there were incredibly easy. I’m only facing issues here in sf6 that’s why I made this video
I can input dp pretty reliably in the neutral but everytime the opponent jumps my first instinct is to block instead of anti air them which isn’t ideal because it leaves them plus. Guess I need to change my defensive habits a little
First lesson should be, do not block, try anything to anti-air, no matter if its dp or normal attack, people are afraid to dp anti-air not because they dont know how to do it but they are thinking about not able to input dp at the right moment. React to jump startup, try to dp as late as possible (its also called late dp), there are two things for dp aa, execution timing and jump reaction timing, if you are slow for execution, you must improve jump reaction timing and vice versa Usually people react too late for jump, their brain remains frozen, it should be like a warning tho.
The down back down forward motion feels impossible to do on a ps4 pad especially if you are crouching and on the rifht side of the screen.. could you do a cid shkwing your thumb move on the pad?
