  • On this video we will be chasing the problematic P0410 code!! This repair can easily become an expensive repair in a snap of a finger!! Tag along and see what solved the issue for this W211 E320 benz! Also, I forgot to mention do not start with the injection pump first! In my case the pump had to be replaced because I had tested it and there was no power or noise coming from the pump. First test your pump before replacing it. This E320 had multiple issues, so this one was tricky! This W211 was one of the hardest, vehicles to trigger all 9 monitors to pass emissions!

    I did the valve cover gaskets and oil breather gaskets myself without any car repairing experience. Pretty straightforward, BUT you still have to be careful. Don't skip steps. If you're not sure that the gasket is sitting correctly, better check twice.

I replaced them and did not clean the inside where they sit. I have a 230c 2007, and I have replaced everything else but did not clean the inside where the air valves sit. Hope this will be the last thing [ need to do to get this code to turn off. So I can take it to get smog test done.

    At 13:19 when you smack the valve and yank it off that breaks it. You really should warm the engine first to let the metal reduce in size, then gently twist at the base and turn back and forth from the base and never from the top.

      The repairs can easily get expensive! If you take it to a Indy shop expect pay for a secondary air pump with labor around $400-$480 if they replace the kombi / injection control valves, that’s roughly $450-$500 with also cleaning the carbon . This is just a rough estimate!

      @Fwerks.1592 I live in a very small town in Iowa. Every shop in town has told me the same thing. They can diagnose it but they won’t touch it. I live 2 hours away from any bigger city. That’s where I would have to take it to get it fixed. I can’t even drive mine right now because it’s completely clogged up. I can’t just have anyone work on it either because of the warranty but the warranty company don’t have any shops in Iowa or towing companies. I would have to pay all out of pocket to towed to wherever they have a shop and yada yada.

    . Still cleaned them again just incase and it came back

      Interesting! Keep me posted if that injection control valves solves the issue. Do you have access to a scanner? Any codes pulled up? In my experience with another Mercedes, check that fuse again that goes to the pump! I had this c300 with the same code replaced the bad air pump along with a new fuse and everything was fine. Two days later the code came back! After testing, I sent the pump back to FCP euro and got a new one. The new pump was working and the code went away with a reset. Can you hear your pump go off when you start the vehicle?

Inspect for any cracks, tear and make sure they are connected. Next check if your secondary air injection relay is good, and then check air pump! Next move on to the kombi valves which you’ll be surprised they will be filled with carbon.

    Great video! I've been dealing with the same code for a couple months on my 1998 e320.
    My main issue is removing the broken stem that gets seized in the check valve port.
    Can you explain how you removed yours? I wasn't sure if I knocked it down into the
    port would I be able to pull/suck it out. My fear is that it would get permanently lodged in the intake.
    Here's the part of the video where you discuss this issue...

    • @Fwerks.1592
      @Fwerks.1592  Год назад

      Sure no problem! I actually used a flat head screw driver and worked it by tapping it with a hammer. Try to cut it from on side. Once you break the ring, you can slowly start prying the metal around. Don’t worry the metal is super soft so it will bend quick! Also if you want use a blue shop towels those are thicker and use a little bit to plug the intake hole just enough so when the stem pieces fall they fall on the paper towel. Once you finish you and vacuum any pieces and also use a pick to remove the blue paper towel. The hole on the port is pretty deep it’s about a good 4-5 inches till it reaches the intake. Any other questions feel free to email, I can walk you through the steps.

    What about the diagnostic part. You keep changing parts one after another. You need to learn on how to diagnose a car properly. A 4 TIMES COMEBACK. AT MY SHOP YOU GET FIRED.

      That's why I don't work at your shop. You must of also looked up code P0410. Keep your Tough comments to yourself. If you don't have nothing nice to say, then don't say anything. People like you rip people off on selling customers parts whole sale price. I'm here to show people how to fix their vehicle and save money and avoid you at the shop.
