    @Ecuboot: I always like your series a lot-for the very simple reason-you always going back to the network diagram to explain how it’s supposed to work and then performed trouble-shooting steps to see what went wrong! Keep up the good work. Thank you.

    Besides checking the resistance at the terminals of the air pump, I would have liked to see you apply 12v directly at the air pump terminals to further show it is completely not functional.
    My situation, currently troubleshooting code P0410 on 2010 GLK 350. And all the components seem be functioning except am missing the trigger signal from the ECU at the air pump terminal. I verified the wiring is good as you showed in the video, both the ground (brown terminal #2 and the other (terminal #1) to the 40A fuse. The conditions were met for the ECU to trigger the air pump and the switch over valve but no trigger signal from ECU. I am not sure what this means or if there is something wrong with the ECU or possibly a fuse inside the ECU I need to check!
    Note - again, the 40A fuse and the relay both checked out fine and to be sure I replaced both of them with know good ones. Any suggestion or pointers be greatly appreciated ! So at this point it seems electrical signal issue!

      You mentioned "the conditions were met for the ECU" but if you look at 1:49, the condition is between 7 to 35 Celsius. In many parts of the USA still in winter, the temperature is so cold, it may be below the 7 Celsius day or night which doesn't meet the actuation conditions.
      Have you checked the air pump relay too ?

    • @mikelemon1147
      @mikelemon1147 Год назад

      @@Brian_L_5168 Thank you for the reply. No, am in California and temperature outside was 60F = 15.6C which is within the 7 to 35 Celsius and the RPM was < 2500. So the conditions are met for sure. However, I am suspecting it is possible that the ECU is not receiving correct Coolant temp (another area to investigate but unlikely) or other input to trigger it to turn on the pump!

      Aside from this code, the engine runs smooth at all times; idle even when we had a cold week in the 30s F and normal engine rpms. I will do some more troubleshooting this weekend but it is getting a bit mysterious without proper live scan tools or schematics.

    In my case, i have an slk350 2005, the pump turns on, i can hear it, but i keep on getting the Check Engine error P0410
    I am suspecting the second round; my question is: what is the trigger for the 2nd cycle initiation so I can trace it?
    Appreciate if you can guide me in the right direction
    It’s driving me crazy 😅

    There was no power coming to the Air Pump electric connector. I replaced relay and then it was showing 22V power coming to the Electric connector. So i thought that was issue. After 50 KM drive, engine light back on. I checked power to Electric Connector....and it's not giving me any power anymore. I checked on cold start. Should 22V be coming to connector or 12V? Is my new relay dead now

    I know this video has been uploaded more than 2 years ago but I am still hoping for a reply. I‘ve been having the same issue with my secondary air pump on my W203 C230. After I had my water pump replaced in a shop this problem came up. When I went back they said to not waste my money on a new pump since it’s absolutely unimportant to run the engine. I know that that is true but the check engine light has been bugging me for almost a year now and thats the only fault it’s showing. After some troubleshooting I have noticed that the very fuse you checked the circuit from is missing in my fuse box and when I checked on the pumps plug there was no power when I started the engine which normally should have triggered the power supply to the pump. My guess is the shop removed the fuse for whatever reason when replacing my water pump since it sits directly below the airpump. Now to my question what type of fuse is that? So I can get one, put it in, see what happens and maybe finally sort this problem out. Thanks in advance

      did you figure out what it was? was it the check valve or the pump? how much did the repair cost?

    • @markobako9116
      @markobako9116 4 месяца назад

      @@fredrezfield1629 it was the fuse. Since I did the troubleshooting myself it cost me only 3,50€ for the fuse. An original Mercedes air pump would’ve been around 750€ at the dealership. My mechanic told me to just ignore the problem because the engine ran perfectly fine still. It was about 1 year before I actually fixed it. Engine is okay with no faults
