  • The Good Old Infiniti q60... I love these cars and they have an awesome motor setup, but there are definitely a few things that would make this car 10x better.

    Nice review! I agree with you, they could have done more with the transmission and paddle shifters. Infotainment is eh. But super solid chassis that handles well and looks good! Does it FEEL like a turbo cars in terms of any turbo lag or missing exhaust note?

    • @MaxSpeedMike
      @MaxSpeedMike  2 года назад +3

      Missing exhaust note, no. Sounds good but muffled cuz of all the stock restrictions. Exhaust sounds sick on these. It pulls progressively faster like a turbo, once the turbos spool around 2500 rpm. It's genuinely quick, just lacks the fun characteristics of shifting a manual transmission or firing off shifts with a dual clutch, or even a zf 8 speed
      If the transmission was better, this car would be so much more fun

      @@MaxSpeedMike as an owner of a AWD Q60RS, I can agree on the transmission. Using the paddles or manual shifter you’ll get much more use out of the VR30’s power band! In Automatic, even in Sport + Mode the tranny generally likes to shift to the lowest gear to conserve fuel. It’s how it’s programmed from factory, a ZF or DCT would KILL with the VR. It does hang on to the gears a lot longer which is fun of course!
      Overall, a great value on the USED market for what they are! Geared towards entry level Luxury vs Performance, but with tasteful modifications they can become daily rocket ships. I’m looking forward to tuning mine this summer in order to achieve greater performance while keeping it reliable. Minor upgrades to the suspension, tighten it up a little for better handling.
      PLEASE GET RID OF YOUR FACTORY RUN FLAT TIRES, they SUCK. Infiniti put the worst possible run flat tire on the vehicles, hence why reviewers always dog the handling 😂🤣😅
      If you are on the fence, go test drive one! AWD handle much better & put the power down, I’ve owned both‼️

    I have a 2020 one and my only complaint is the infotainment is kind of FUBAR. It's got 2 screens that should interact seamlessly together, but are somehow complete separate systems. The car is fast and looks beautiful, though.

    • @MaxSpeedMike
      @MaxSpeedMike  2 года назад +1

      Yeah the screens are kind of whatever. I like this car due to the lack of technology. Makes it feel more analog!
      Keep enjoying yours brother

      @@MaxSpeedMike sometimes less = more! You buy a vehicle for the driving experience IMO. I do get real-time traffic though 😂😂😂 Bose Performance Sound System sounds nice, no complaints! Less things that can fail lol…

      Less things that can fail... that's something I think about with all these new cars that have thousands of screens, computers etc haha

      I have the same year and I picked up the mk6 Tesla screen from aucar
      Really makes up for the stock system and completely changes the look and feel of interior - modernizes it and sharpens it up. As an added bonus, it helps the OEM Bose system because you get an EQ with the system
      Full disclosure, Apple CarPlay does seems to be buggy; it’s a full tablet so there’s no real reason to use CarPlay but that’s the major issue people bring up after iOS 14(?). Also don’t go for mk5 or earlier

    You focus way too much on talking about transmission
    Half the video was just complaining about the auto in a luxury car. Silly.

    • @MaxSpeedMike
      @MaxSpeedMike  7 дней назад

      That is mainly due to the fact that lots of people look at these Q models like their previous G models, and they're not the same. The slower auto in the G35s and G37s reflect in the Q transmissions as well. I'm not sure if they offer a tune to make them sift quicker. The seating position in this car feels like it should have a third pedal haha
