Best sound i had when I had the car was LDP and just a muffler delete. My Stillen and dps didn't even sound good but gave better power. To be fair, it's hard to make any 3.0s with turbos sound good nowadays anyways
( Comment using the translator )Your method of calculation is correct in case that someone wanted to modify it to the first level and kept it like that for a few months, then moved to the next level and so on... But if he wants to tune it directly to the middle or higher level, the cost will be lower than what you mentioned, because you calculated some parts several times, such as the brakes, fuel pump, injection system, remaping ... You take the total costs of the level and then add to it the costs of the second level, which contains parts that are in the first level. You had to remove the price of the repeating part from the first level account total and then add the price of the same part in the second level...Because the owner may move from factory state directly to the third level and he does not have to go through the first or second level, so the cost will be much lower ... @ stock, these cars already have trouble dispersing heat after multiple pulls. It’s called heat soaking. With a tune, you’re increasing the amount of power/boost, therefore it would heat soak even quicker and would likely cause damage to the turbos and engine. The stock heat exchanger should be bigger and the stock turbos are very small already. Upgrading the heat exchanger & cold air intakes will take care of the problem. You should really upgrade the turbos, the pulleys, as well as the size of the intercooler tubing.

There's a ton of info on those, just do downpipes, tune, heat exchanger, and switch to ethanol blends with hpfp/lpfp and injectors and you can get good power. If you wanna get crazy will need to upgrade the turbos and etc.
im very curious how the tune cost is only $450? AMS is $1600 and goracebox is $1400, and the lower downpipes are from $400-500 and full downpipes are $800-1000

I own a 2018 Q50 3.0t Luxe. To me the mild build is perfect as a daily driver while not compromising reliability of the vehicle. One question though does anyone recommend certain after market water pumps to install on a mild build?
Def not on this car. You dont need to change a water pump on cars this new unless you are time tracking and beating the crap of the car. Just upgrade the stock heat exchanger/intercooler and add an expanded overflow and coolant tank.
I think he’s referring to something along the lines of the jb4 which is just a few hundred dollars, increases your power by about the 100hp/120tq he mentioned, and can be added by anyone to their Q50/60 in mere minutes. Doing custom tuning on the dyno including the device cost is where you’d run into costs approaching and exceeding $1000…

I was thinking about selling my 335xi and buying a Q50. But after seeing this video I'm not so sure. I only paid $6k for my car and spent about $1500 in mods to get to 450-500 hp. Is it reliable? Hell no, it breaks every week. But it seems you have to spend quite a bit to get an Infiniti up there, unless you start with a red. I may still buy one though. I might be happy with an exhaust, intake and tune. Only time will tell! Thanks for the info.
What year is your 335 tho. The q60 barely came out 2017 so the prices for these cars are high right now since they’re still fairly new. Go peep a 2020 340i vs 2020 q50 there’s a big price difference
Bruh a 300hp q50 you can get to 450 crank by spending like 2G’s jb4 alone is $600ish and that’ll put you to 400 crank LDP is 300-500ish and you’re at 450ish crank so shit even less
@@Jacob-vf8hu Newbie here. I’m trying to why turbos would blow after the tune. Is that from flooring it and driving hard? I want to get the Q60 3.0 and tune, heat exchanger and LDP. Just doing normal daily driving… not push it hard all the time.
I just put ark cat backs on my q60 should I add down pipes I wanna do a tune eventually but not anytime soon to not void my warranty. Is this a smart idea without a tune and will it even add any HP/Make my car louder?
Adding downpipes will make the car sound a lot better and louder. and add hp. But without a tune you can hurt the engine and get a check engine light. Also without a tune you won’t be getting the maximum performance from the exhaust and downpipes. So I would definitely recommend getting a tune after you put downpipes on. If you are scared for warranty then I wouldn’t put the downpipes on.
😎👍 Great vid! I am looking to do a Mild build on my Q50 RS. I was Wondering if an aftermarket Heat Exchanger is necessary since the Red Sports already have the extra water pump that the base models do not. I would not be tracking it much, maybe an occasional 1 or 2 weekends a year.
The first mod they should have said was Heat Exchanger. These cars are VERY prone to heat-soak, and the factory heat exchanger is tiny for both the redsport and non-redaoort models. It only holds 8oz of coolant, and even with the secondary coolant pump it's just not enough to adequately cool the turbos. A larger heat exchanger is an absolute must before you do anything else.
Im in the move to buy a q50 3.0t but in the video it didn’t specified which q50 3.0t. Is it the luxe one or the s one also if its rwd or awd If someone could help me please and sorry my English not very good and I don’t have much knowledge about cars. Thanks!!
Gonna trade my Lexus in for a Q but not sure which model, had no doubt I was gonna get the red sport but after seeing that the silver s is js as fast with the jb4 I’m not sure, found both for pretty good prices. Is the red sport really worth it, barely anyone in my town have a RS but there’s base model Q’s everywhere ? Or should I just go with the silver S and work my way up from there.
Compare the vq and vr motors, the cost difference of modifications are insane. Most current vq owners who want the new Z cant afford the performance model at 52k lol. How would they upgrade the base Z with such high costs for parts? Aftermarket needs to lower those crazy ass prices. Or you will see some poor crappy aftermarket parts popping up all over the place to take your business lol
@@maperformance i dont know. These days you can buy your own 3d printer. They are pretty cheap. Technology is getting way more advanced. A charge pipe or downpipe exhaust is still, and will always be just a pipe lol

Running anything over E30 on the stock injectors, HPFP, and LPFP is asking for trouble, as they are not designed for the low lubricity of Ethanol. You'll likely find yourself with a stuck open injector (worse case), which can flood a cylinder and hydro-lock the motor. If you want to run E85, get the DW injectors, Spool HPFP (2 flow rate sizes) and an AMS LPFP, along with a FF kit and in-line fuel filter.

Thats why you see so many people swap pure turbos in, once the factory engine or turbos are toast people say fuck it and just swap them and go for more power
@@shad3128 Being told the Q50/60 3.0 stock turbos are junk, it will blow and die. To get the 3.7 better. Hate to spend thousands on mods and then it blows.
Thoughts?
I just bought a black on black, 2019 silver sport Q50 3.0t for the wife…
This gets the devilish gears in my head moving lol 🤔
I own a 2018 Q50 3.0t Luxe. To me the mild build is perfect as a daily driver while not compromising reliability of the vehicle. One question though does anyone recommend certain after market water pumps to install on a mild build?
Def not on this car. You dont need to change a water pump on cars this new unless you are time tracking and beating the crap of the car. Just upgrade the stock heat exchanger/intercooler and add an expanded overflow and coolant tank.
I agree with Chris.
So would a heat exchanger be unnecessary if u were going for a more mild build?
Qzilla make 684whp on stock engine and stock trans
I’m sure he has a back up motor and trans ready since he’s in that power range
Are there any mods for the q70?
450 tune I thought most tuners were charging around 1 thousand or so???
yeah bro their tripping , a tune runs you about 1-1.6k
I think he’s referring to something along the lines of the jb4 which is just a few hundred dollars, increases your power by about the 100hp/120tq he mentioned, and can be added by anyone to their Q50/60 in mere minutes.
Doing custom tuning on the dyno including the device cost is where you’d run into costs approaching and exceeding $1000…
I know this video a little older, but; If I'm worried about my warranty would the mild build be fine? I was just thinking don't get the springs cuz that could be risky for the warranty. Also get a JB4 tune rather than Ecutek. Everything else should be good though right?
A tune is not 450 u want a good tune its ganna cost from $1400 - $1600 a JB4 is not really a tune full downpips are $700 - 1600 depending if u want HFC or straight
If your looking into buying a Q60 just go with the red sport..too much mods come with problems..
And also harder to sell as buyers don’t trust what you did to it
@@Unplugged704 totally agree 👍
I have a foolish friend that brought a 2017 3.0t infiniti q60 coupe from a second hand dealer(wrong move)..6months later his car went into limp mode(either transmission or engine)..he took it into infiniti, they took the engine apart, and denied his claim because there was no oil in the engine(engine destroyed)..this fool trusted the second hand dealer and didn't do his own oil change after he brought the car.. he was going off of the dash stating he had 1,000 miles until next oil change..smh..I explained that the dash reading isn't accurate and it's only a reminder for the driver..it can always be changed manually..he really thought the car was that advanced to tell him an accurate oil level reading..smh. jaska$$ of the year..he took my advice as hating when I kept telling him to take his car in for service at an infiniti dealer(to sleep better at night) and the fact that I drive a hellcat..lol..Im 11 years older than him and have owned over 22cars since 1994. you would think he would listen to me..but I've noticed the newer generation(millennials) think they know it all and will not listen..smh..lmao
Can the first portion of the mods be done but quietly. Not a fan of noisy vehicles just want the speed.
Which exhaust system should I look into?? I want something aggressive when I'm on the highway but not drony while I'm cruising on the street
Great info for the new Z aswell
Great info! Much of this will be applicable to the new Z, after your tweaks, my fellow car geeks. Not buying a used Q, NFW.
whats wrong with a lightly used Q50/60
@@lagoatball4596nothing but it’s a bit of a gamble, you gotta make sure that services are up to date and that the turbos are not pissing oil , if it checks all of those items you’re in the clear
Hear me out, after all this effort and money, why not just start with a 6th gen ZL1?
What tuner are you using for the mild? The one on your website? Says only 32hp gain
I really want this car for the ease and reliability, but i haaaate the way it looks 😭
Do I need to use the flex fuel all the way up to the downpipe mod wise?
Great work! Great details! Looking to sell G35 for Q6 red
You guys need to think about mods for the Red Sport. That will directly apply when the Nissan Z comes out.
There isn't really any difference between the standard and the red sport mechanically besides the auxiliary water pump and dual core heat exchanger. So many of the mods apply!
Should the tune be the last thing or first thing i do on the mild list
Last
Just buy a corvette guys even with all that power still not faster than Z06
Whats everyone's opinion on adding second factory cooler in series on a luxe 2019. Not as worried about performance rightnow in comparison to being in hot climate and helping cooling??
Q60 gang 👍🏻🔥
You’re a lucky man 😭 getting my 2022 Q50S in 2 years when I’m done with my g37 sedan build
Yessir @tjq60rs 👋🏾
I’d kill to get a tune for $450
Lmfao fr 🤣 mines was three times that
On the high build is cheaper to go with a m4 f82 42k plus 10k part 780hp easy.
You can buy a regular 3.0 Q50 and get a jb4 /heat exchanger and be around 400hp
What year is your 335 tho. The q60 barely came out 2017 so the prices for these cars are high right now since they’re still fairly new. Go peep a 2020 340i vs 2020 q50 there’s a big price difference
@@G4LStudios it was a 2008. I sold it for 10k and just bought a 2015 435i. Very happy. Will still consider the Q50 or Q60 in the future.
We need a driving pov or someone recording for outside
What if you have aQ60 but it's a 2.0T what should I do if anything
Saved this video
Hi I have a 2008 Infiniti m45x
Is there 🤔 a tun for the V8 4.5
I did put an intake and exhaust.
But think it needs a tune🤗
Did anything change significantly FOR 2023???
flex fuel means i can use any type of gas at the gas station?
Using 93 or E85 is what Flex Fuel means
Yes any gas you like
I’m trying to hit 1k HP at the wheel so how much would that be?
for the mild build what tune r u referring too ? a jb4?
I just put ark cat backs on my q60 should I add down pipes I wanna do a tune eventually but not anytime soon to not void my warranty. Is this a smart idea without a tune and will it even add any HP/Make my car louder?
Adding downpipes will make the car sound a lot better and louder. and add hp. But without a tune you can hurt the engine and get a check engine light. Also without a tune you won’t be getting the maximum performance from the exhaust and downpipes. So I would definitely recommend getting a tune after you put downpipes on. If you are scared for warranty then I wouldn’t put the downpipes on.
downpipes void warranty, i have ark cbe with ams lower down pipes and it sounds good
@@dannydang8487 damn it voids warranty even if it’s not in the engine bay?
@@dannydang8487 also did you get a check engine light or a tune at all? And no problems?
@@jordanpinion7593 yeah downpipes takes your catalytic converters off so it voids warranty
Where are you getting a tune for $450 bucks??
😎👍 Great vid! I am looking to do a Mild build on my Q50 RS. I was Wondering if an aftermarket Heat Exchanger is necessary since the Red Sports already have the extra water pump that the base models do not. I would not be tracking it much, maybe an occasional 1 or 2 weekends a year.
If you live in a warmer climate like me it’s a must. My RS gets incredibly doggish after a few minutes of spirited driving in any temperature >70F
Watch boost in motion RUclipsr his whole chanel is specifically on this and vq engines
He had intake and catback i can put supercharller. how do you thinks ?
How Much hp am I making if my q50rs ams intake ,heat exchanger,3inch downpipe, 3 inch custom exhaust ?
Impossible to say without getting the car on a dyno!
Can this car be tuned without ecutek?
Can you make a video for the Red Sport model
Everything mentioned in the video also applies to the red sport!
Is it recommended to get a water pump for the red sport? as it already comes with an upgraded water pump compared to the lower trim models?
The RS water pump is sufficient!
What's a tune that I can get for $500??
Why can’t you do this on a 3.7 ?
The RS and the Sport aren't much different, but if its exclusivity you're after then the choice is easy!
how much power could a tune alone gather u without the intake/exhaust ?
With a used Q50 with 30k miles is 550 HP pushing it? Is that a safe/reliable range where i wouldn’t have install a built trans or engine?
That is definitely pushing the envelope! It may make that power but for how long is the question...
Gotta pay to play these days! Producing parts isn't cheap in today's day and age!
@@maperformance i dont know. These days you can buy your own 3d printer. They are pretty cheap. Technology is getting way more advanced. A charge pipe or downpipe exhaust is still, and will always be just a pipe lol
A tune is definitely not $450 for a regular customer even jb4 is $750 alpha heat exchanger isn’t $450 lol
FF to 2024.. the axle back is $800 and a full catback is $1800. Thanks Kamala
Anyone know of any ecu tuning for the q50 that's legit?
I was told you need high pressure fuel pump along with the low pressure to run e. Your saying I just need the lower. And if I want extra extra power go for a high pressure?
flex fuel kit and low pressure fuel pump to run e30, anything over that , you should run a high pressure
