Depending on how bad it is when we have that issue come in most of the time we just clean the track and then spray it with DRY spray lubricant if you don’t use dry spray it will work for a little bit then actually get worse more and more debris will build up (Infiniti technician)

For the belt failure you need to loosen the the a/c compressor and push it back and tighten it that’s why the belts would fail when you do that if you catch it early enough you won’t have to change the belt but if you still hear chirping then replace the belt (I’m an Infiniti tech and I own a 17 Q50s)

I personally purchased a universal 10 row single pass fluid cooler from Mishimoto and used -6AN hoses to cool the ATF in my 16' 3.0t Red Sport 400 awd, currently odometer is showing 93,346 miles and it was one of the best mods I've ever done. The cooler does the job perfectly, by matching up the hoses to the oem hoses i don't see much pressure loss or increase of pressure in the valvebody, it's not cooling the ATF too much or not enough. I can beat on here and drive it hard, or be sitting in traffic in the summer and it's working perfectly. I monitor my ATF temps just to be sure. My next upgrade will more than likely be another Mishimoto universal fluid cooler to replace the OEM oil cooler, but I'm monitering oil temps, just to be sure, since the red sport models have a thermostatically controlled oil cooler, guess we'll see in the next month or so.

Hey I’m from NC and am an Infiniti tech. Yeah turbo failure and also engine failure is very common on the OLDER VR30, think they fixed it 2018 and afterwards. Mostly an oil starvation issue similar to what the RB motors had from what I’ve heard, very rare issue is having a porous engine block that allows coolant to leak.
The blend door motor is a bitch to get too, just a tight space.
The slow window issue is most likely a window run needing replacement, easy to do.
And as you said lots of valve body’s but I don’t see it as often. Great video as always!!

I’d like to add one though. The heater hose coupler. The plastic piece inside the hose becomes brittle and fails causing a small coolant leak. If this happens, i recommend the Z1 coolant bleeder port. Way better than a piece of plastic.

My g35 was reliable and I had a g37 for a short time and was missing that VQ. Very happy with the q50’s sound system and interior capabilities. Sounds good on cold start ! Probably going to just replace the rear dif bushing when i go in for rotors here soon. The comment that chrome flashing on the dashboard trim will eventually flake reminds me how bad the plastic parts in automobiles was 50 years ago. I had a 1975 Chrysler Cordoba that I purchased new. Pretty soon, and well out of warranty period, which was much shorter back then, the plastic shelf on the top of the dashboard developed a large crack. Later one of the tail light lens assemblies fell off. At least that occurred sitting in the driveway, and I was able to glue it back together. Cars were much simpler back then and thus more reliable but the cosmetic plastic used in those cars was much inferior. I may be somewhat biased now that I am able to keep my cars sheltered in the garage and out of the sun most of the time. These days we are accustomed to drive trains lasting hundreds of thousands of miles with only routine maintenance while the engines and transmissions are much more complex than what we had then.

Knocking on wood as I type this, but nearly 200k miles on my 2015 Sport Hybrid RWD, and so far the only things I have had repaired were the transmission replaced for a cracked bell housing at 63k miles(they replaced with a different part number, transmission from 2016+ maybe? Happened in March 2019), and I had a rear sway bar replacement when I ran over some debris on the highway and it somehow snapped one end of the sway bar loose without breaking anything else. Both were done under warranty(I had the 8 year unlimited mile bumper to bumper up until a month ago).

Couple honorable mentions: 1 - Driver seat squeak/creak. Thankfully the radio is loud to mask this. The squeaky seat makes me insane. Of course the recommended fix is a new seat. Not happening with an out of warranty car. There are internal memos concerning this complaint but no real solutions to my knowledge. 2 - Wheel speed/ABS sensor failure. This one is fun because it causes a bunch of errors to pop up. When one of these go, the ABS isn't functional, the AWD/traction control goes bye bye and you're back to RWD only. The errors are for AWD System, ABS and Chassis Control. Car still runs and drives fine but without the traction control and my heavy right foot, I'm squealing tires like a 16 year old kid. @agregory20166 22 дня назад

@@koreehaye6839 I haven't had that exact problem. However, I recently had body work done on the car, and they replaced the front bumper cover. Since then I've had a number of weird issues that I have to assume are related to the body shop having removed and re-installed electronic parts like the front radar sensor, park sensors, etc. The steering intermittently pulls to the left or right (very obviously, it's not subtle) and yesterday I experienced a strange front-end vibration that felt like a computer-induced vibration to get driver attention. I wasn't braking at the time.
The body shop (Caliber Collision) has an entire team that specializes in calibrating electronic systems on modern vehicles; it appears they didn't do a great job on mine. I'll probably end up taking it to Nissan or Infiniti to get the system inspected, because I don't feel confident the body shop people can handle it.

Also my injectors are not stock did that cause figured they didn’t ratio properly or use the right injectors for a big engine like a 3.7 as most other car companies have as well failed to improve on, and I upgraded my oil pan, got an oil cooler, heat exchange, carbon fiber hood to lessen the weight of the car a bit, upgraded sway bar, and lastly with the rotors I did not use the stock rotors I upgraded those and the break caliper as well.

How about transmission from 3,0TT, IT is also 7AT, but I heard, that it can handle much more torque. Does it mean, that it doesn't have the same issue as 3.7 ?
Are gears the same lenght in 3.0 and 3.7 :-) ?
And finally - those doors blends, or how you called them. This a common issues in some french cars. I found, that, while, you change direction of flow, when fan is spinning fast it is more common to have this failure - maybe the same concerns Q50. Hey when you mentioned fuel injector failure for the 3.0t do you know if same thing goes for the 3.7?

I also suspect my valve body. First to second is rough until the trans warms up, and sometimes revs flare in a shift.

Literally started hearing the "chirping" sound especially when it's warm or after getting the car washed with undercarriage spray! Everything else mentioned, slow windows, heavy trunk.. hell I think you were talking about my car overall! 🤣 BTW I had to replace my blend door Actuator!

2017 q50 RS here. Got a check engine light a few days back, car ran fine until I noticed revs were hanging on longer around 3k. Took it to Infiniti and unfortunately my valve body is no bueno. I was told that the parts and labor would cost me over 3k but luckily my car has 47k miles on it and that it was still covered under warranty!

Dang! Don’t hear about valve body issues much with the vr30 trans.

Apparently the alternator is a common failure on rhe 3.7. Mine failed at 73k, the warranty replacement failed in a month and the third replacement is now putting out 18 volts so I'm sure it's dying.

That's strange. I hadn't heard that. I did replace the battery at about 50k miles, but no alternator issues.
