Thanks to you I can enjoy Unity more, your tips have been very helpful, you have my sub. One request, can you upload a video specifically on parkour tips and tricks? I think I need to improve on that since I've seen other players do better parkour on RUclips.
I'll add 3 things. You can also use berserk blades for their intended purpose - to turn an enemy against their kind. Berserking a spearmen is ridiculously powerful. Berserking them guarantees their eventual death, but they are likely to take out multiple enemies in the process. And, in missions with tons of guards, such as a certain heist in the corner of the map, berserking two spearmen guarding the door will lure out the entire building's worth of guards, their mothers, their sons, and all of their friends, and numerous guards outside that are patrolling or just wandering. This amounts to about 25 guards in a neat pile, almost all of which will be in the radius of a poison (or the poison's bigger cousin, the mortar bomb) Poisons are ridiculously useful, especially if you have multiple of them. You can have up to 7. This is broken. 3 Poisons will kill nearly every guard except for the highest of levels. At this point, you can turn 25 guards into 3. Smoke, assassinate, and you've cleared an entire building using a couple poisons and two berserks. This is broken beyond measure, more efficient than manually clearing each individual one, and so on. Disguise also lets you interact with objects. You can sabotage cannons, steal paintings, open chests, without other guards noticing and without breaking your disguise. After detection, you can sometimes enter cover and assassinate a guard as they are running up to you.
Hell yes. That's what I'm talking about, very very good! As for the Cover Assassinate trick, I really should've mentioned that. I use it a few times in my No Upgrades walkthrough.
I agree, beserk blades are great, I use them on brutes often to cause I diversion for me to get past and in the bottom right I can just see the beserk blade kill points racking up
@@justmuppet1765 Yeah but let's be honest, the game is at it's best when you play with friends, but due to it's botched release and first few months, most people completely abandoned the game.
I don't think its movement is that great at all. Honestly i think its fucking terrible. i spend most of my time in this game trying to get in a fucking window or to make a specific jump to a ledge. AC2 brother hood had the best most fluid climbing. Easy and simple consistency is the best.
Leo K [Rogue] yes the plot isn’t the ezio trilogy level, and the stealth could be smoother but the parkour/free running aspect was mastered in this game. If you practice enough the free running becomes soooo fluid that it looks like Arno dances over and under everything.
I’m extremely late, but here’s a movement tip: When you hold the crouch button along with high profile (for consoles it’s L2 +R2/LT + RT) Arno will avoid running up random objects. Using high profile in interiors gets annoying due to the amount of waist-level objects around Arno that are climbable without the usage of high profile up. What’s especially useful to this trick is that it’s not just limited to interiors. You can use this trick even while performing parkour. So whenever you’re chasing someone in an interior, trying to get away cause a guard spotted you inside a building, or just don’t wanna hop onto random objects while jumping onto rooftops, just hold R2 and L2.
This is huge and has been pointed out several times over the years. I haven't made any updates to this video so I've never actually put it anywhere, but it is soooo unbelievably powerful. Auto-pathing onto chairs/benches/low objects when you don't necessarily want to has been an issue in every AC game prior to Origins and solved with button-discipline, but Unity goes one step further and lets you actually prevent it by simply holding a button. It's amazing.
@@LeoKRogue I know right? It adds a whole new step to parkour mastery and I love it. The fact that I can smoothly parkour wherever and whenever I want while being able to climb, vault, and slide under things is amazing! It really helps you add extreme amounts of rhythm to your movement.
I think the craziest thing this video does is prove that Unity had the most accurate trailer to it's gameplay for those who take the time to learn and understand the game.
I so badly want a future game to return to the same style of AC Unity's gameplay and stealth systems where fluidity and movement are preferred over reckless abandon and forced combat encounters. This guide proves just how much depth there was to learn in this game compared to Origins and Odyssey. Love the video! Time to play Unity again too!
Thanks so much, I agree wholeheartedly. ^__^ I'd love the games to move a little further away from the slack-jawed, "pump the numbers" approach they've got going on right now. That's not why I play Assassin's Creed, and there are plenty of games that do this much better than AC's current incarnation does, anyway.
Hey thanks for this video. I used to get so frustrated playing Unity that I abandoned it for a year but this helped me so much. I went from rage quitting during solo heists (because I just couldn’t get myself to be accustomed to the stealth mechanics) to getting a perfect solo heist! Having actual control over the gameplay makes this game so much more enjoyable and it has become one of my favourite ones of the franchise all thanks to you! 🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼
Thank you so much! I'm so so happy to hear stuff like this, teaching people to enjoy something and feel better about their own gameplay is one of my favorite things on the planet. If you wish, check out my AC Unity No Upgrades 2019 walkthrough, where I play the hardest possible version of the game and explain all my decisions, and follow me on Twitch if you want to see me stream Assassin's Creed, Resident Evil, and other games live. Thanks again, and stay safe! ^__^
i just started unity this week and was having a lot of trouble with it coming from bf/rogue. this was incredibly helpful and i’m enjoying the game tons more now. thank you!!
I think you summarized a problem a lot of 3d stealth games, not limited to the AC series, have in a minute or so rather than three hours like many other people take. Movement can be so crucial when a mechanical skill gap can be present and push meager aspects and interactions of gameplay to an admirable feature
Beautiful comment. Movement is literally the most important baseline skill for the player to learn in any game that features moving from enemy to enemy, but it's so often brushed aside or glossed over because it's not flashy, it's not Exciting. It's just positioning, yawn, boring. But actually it defines the rest of the experience. Movement is the base on which all subsequent actions are built, and if you have bad movement, you'll really suffer a lot...
That's why I can't understand why Ubi cut out some of the most useful movements for Origins, like vaulting any fence, choosing between vaulting or sliding beneath some obstacles or entering windows from above
It seems like movement gaps are the reason truly fun games struggle. Both TF2s have small but dedicated fan bases and both have extremely high movement ceilings that can confuse new players. People don’t want to take the time to git gud, they just want the power fantasy without putting in the time to earn that power.
Why you have to go remind me multiplayer use to be a thing. Here I am hoping each new game brings multiplayer back. I hear AC3 remake was coming out.... No multiplayer.... mfw :( (This all said I prefer AC4 multiplayer best followed by rev, then 3.)
I was recently coming back to AC Unity and was looking for tips, despite being an experienced player, and came across your video. This, by far, was the most informative guide I have found on RUclips. My main problem was movement, I got used to AC Unity's movement but not fluently combining movements together of which Arno is capable of. Your guide eliminated these problems and I have already managed to use these techniques in my game. Cheers!
That makes me feel so happy, thank you so much! Everybody who gets a better experience and has more fun with their game because of something I made puts a huge smile on my face.
Bro - 6 years later and your videos have completely changed the way I play AC: Unity. I was brute forcing my way through as far as I could, and now I'm a smoke throwing, disguise wearing stealth master. Thanks so much for the great content!
I'm really glad, wow. I look back on this video and as a _video_ it's not very good, but the _information_ I managed to give surely helped a lot of people. I'm glad for that.
I'm so glad! I'm not satisfied with this video anymore so I've written a script last week for a new 2022 version of it, since we as a community have learned some new tricks since then. It'll be a replacement but this one's not getting taken down, for posterity.
Hi Leo! I appreciate this guide very much. I wanted to add that blend assassinations can be accomplished during air assassinations as well. For example, you spot two revolutionaries standing, from a rooftop and arno chose to only attack one of them. It is possible the other may not detect you if there are at least 3-4 civilians around arno and the revolutionary he killed. The game essentially sees it as a blended air assassination
Hi Leo Just on the combat: When an agile enemy type is in a staggered state, for example after a perfect parry, or after a staggering strike, there is a window where they can be quickshotted. Usually for as long as they appear off balance. For me a good way to easily get rid of them is staggering strike quickshot or perfect parry quickshot. Thx for the cool video
Is there not a chance they might take the shot to the body but still survive it anyway? Back when I made this video I think I experienced something like that with some late-game agiles.
@@LeoKRogue maybe 5-diamonds, i think. Idk i just played around one time and saw they always dodge groundstab but not always the quickshot. What i also do if i quickshot and enemy doesnt die, I do the big swing and because they are low health it will automatically do a finishing animation. Anyway yea. Finishing exams tomorrow and got a friend to buy this game so hoping to do some co-op with him, that’s why I’m coming bavk to this masterpiece of a guide and a game
We can always be better at something than we were, it's not a bad thing to realize you have more potential; especially when it leads to greater enjoyment. I'm glad you appreciate it and you're very welcome.
"Ranged weapons are important in unity because they allow you to attack an enemy without putting your body near them." ...Thank you so much I was in dire need of familiarity with this concept
I just found this video in my recomended and I have to say that its really well made, helpful and interesting. One of the best video game guides I've ever seen!
I am just now playing this game for the first time. My first AC was Odyssey and then Valhalla. Unity was on sale for $4.50 so I picked it up and I think this might be my favorite AC so far. Thanks for the tips as they will surely come in handy.
One tip that i haven’t seen anyone do is that after throwing a Poison Gas bomb Shooting the poisoned guards with any projectile on any part of their body will instantly kill them, even with Berserk Blades.
I know this is also late but a neat thing for the berserk blade is that if you have 1 or 2 berserk enemies fighting a group there is a medium chance the berserk poison will spread and poison other guards in the vicinity
Thank you. I've learnt a few tricks and seen my common errors. I never used smoke before and now I understand my mistake, as you said in the video... I'm always afraid to use items incase I need them later. When I replay Unity again, I'll have to be more willing to use them.
Definitely! If you never learn what it's like to use too many of them, you won't learn how to properly conserve them. Because if all you do is horde them, you're getting no Value out of the item! :D
@@LeoKRogue I agree. I think the issue was I was so spoiled by AC 3/BF/R's combat system (which I very much enjoyed and purposely didn't stealth to partake in it) that when Unity came around, combat was more slower-paced and adapting to stealth tactics after 3 games of not being stealthy was a challenge.
Man i really wish i discovered your channel 3 years ago, I was struggling so much before completing the game. Watching this video made me realize how easy and much more fun it could've been with some of these tips that i didnt know about.
If you're playing this on UPlay and can't join your friends, check your NAT Type. NAT Types should be either moderate or strict, Ubisoft has done nothing to fix or address the situation with their game, so I've done some research. I still haven't fixed my NAT Type, but if your NAT Type is on strict you won't be able to join certain other NAT Types.
I'll do what I can. ^_^ Assassin's Creed is really tough to care about these days, for me. Hard to even want to make any videos on it at all. I hope things start feeling a little better with regard to the franchise at some point, but for now, it's just a bit disappointing.
@@LeoKRogue yh Ac isn’t really Ac anymore I love how u replay to all comments with a lengthy sentence proves u really care about ur audience thanks a lot big bro
Too late for that now haha. Ubi also changes and makes additions to the engine they use to build AC games from one release to the next. It's in a constant state of growth.
Revisiting this a few months later after replaying some of the earlier games. AC Unity is amazing. 100% flawed, 100% beautiful, It is a broken masterpiece of Assassin’s Creed magic. Never before has the Assassin/Templar conflict been more perfectly reflected in the conflict between story/gameplay or player/gameplay. Graphically, cmon, it’s still beautiful all these years later, and I prefer the art style to the newer titles (Origins-Valhalla) It is the peak of the Assassin fantasy (for me). The customization is awesome even though I rarely deviate from Arno’s Tailored or Master gear. Each gear piece screams assassin, and I love it. Getting to run around in flowing robes on the streets of Paris without a crossbow hooked onto my back or two giant spears (or a crappy, broken one) and just *vibing* while stealthily taking our enemies one by one with the flow of a master is exhilarating. I think the most amazing thing about Unity for me is the fact that it has all the elements of a classic AC game (stealth, chests, collectibles, parkour), but it doesn’t look like a classic AC game. I don’t know if I can adequately sum up that feeling. Seeing guards in AC2 guarding a little chest on some random patio in Venice always seemed odd to me. Whenever I approach a chest in Unity, it feels like they are actually guarding something worth getting. I never really cared about stealth in an AC game until I played Origins and challenged myself to take down camps without being detected, and I never realized how *fun* stealth can be in Unity. Sure, sometimes it is horribly dysfunctional and screws the player. But when it works, **chef’s kiss** it’s incredible. It’s lethal. It’s beautiful. Unity is a wonderful, horrible, beautiful, incredible mess of a game, and I will always love it. Thanks, Leo, for all your AC content stirring up my love for the franchise all over again.
Thanks for the lovely comment! Yeah, everything you outlined is I think a big part of the reason why so many players have a yearning for Unity nowadays, since it's so unashamedly itself and tries to fully embody 'Assassin's Creed' on a player-experience level, more than most other games in the series, definitely more than these newer ones.
@@LeoKRogue absolutely! Another point I have is that much of the games depth, story wise, comes from side missions rather than the main story. The main narrative isn’t the greatest, but the Paris Stories and Mysteries add so much depth, I think.
Got the game a while ago since it was on sale on steam. I was pretty much having fun with the gameplay, but your guide made it a much more fun experience! Thanks a lot!
Wow there’s a lot of stuff on here that I had no idea about, like berserk blades “blinding” enemies by removing detection, or phantom blades being used to distract enemies. Those are all really neat and would’ve helped me when I first started. This game truly does make you feel like you’re worthy of the title “Assassin” with its mechanics
Little bit message here. After 4 months of practicing Parkour in AC Unity, I've become more precise and fluid on jumping and climbing, not only that I'm more faster now on button inputs and I'm not jitter-mashing anymore. Thanks, Leo-K for this.
Honestly, thank you. I'm so far removed from it now that I really struggle to see why, and right now I don't consider it very good at all. So to see a comment like this is very nice.
It's the AC that makes combat challenging if you're not focused or careful, and you don't insta kill enemies like the previous series , which is actually kinda fun
@@JamesZ32100 yeah i realized that real quick when i wandered into a level 5 district with gear from roughly an hour of gameplay. the only thing that pisses me of rn is the view range of snipers.
Sniper Viewrange is the same as your Pistol/Rifle attack range. You can always quickly switch to one, Smoke onto your feet and Quickshot or Aimed Shot the Gunner if you're panicking. Smoke gives you a lot of time.
i recommend stop sprinting before you assassinate someone with a hidden blade since the kill animations in the sprinting version take about 2 to 3 seconds bonus: when you're in a fight and you want to kill a guy quickly and silently i recommend quick shooting them with the phantom blade, finish him till he's about to fall, then press X (or space), it triggers an animation of arno kicking the guy on the ground silently, not killing him tho (if you don't have the upgrade)
The craziest part is, Unity isn't even as deep as it gets! :P AC1-Rev have an _insane_ amount of depth and complexity to them, it's just that most of it is hidden and the games never explain it, which is what led to players believing they're "simple." I don't blame them, it's an honest mistake.
@@LeoKRogue AC1 is damn hard, the guards chase me like guard dogs. I should kill all of them in order to be safe or else It would take a lot of time to escape from them.
You can break Line of Sight and get in a Hiding Spot. AC1 AI never Searches hiding spots so you'll be guaranteed safe. Using ejects and moving effectively will let you escape. You can still kill everyone though, whatever works for you. I often enjoy fighting in AC1. It's simple but has a level of mastery overlaid nonetheless.
They have all the same attacks you do, but they will often Taunt you. When you see them Taunting, immediately switch to Hidden Blade and mash Assassinate on them.
great guide thanks, i just started playing unity cause i got it free for the notre dame charity event, this was a great guide for me lots of stuff i couldnt figure out like pistol you made it all very clear
Aww, that's awesome to hear. ^__^ So many people have told me my voice is annoying in this video because I was sick when I recorded it, so that's really nice.
thank you leo K for all of your mentoring and sharing of techniques that make the game a greater experience for all. 😊 Im very happy to have found your channel. Every moment has been filled with such fun. Have a great day, maestro
Sincerely apeaking this game seems really a good game. After developing fully the game these games stay pretty interesting for long time. I really like moves that are realistic or attacks that stay coo: moving slow, putting a smoke after entering a door with lock picking.. and things like that. This is really what i like. Less super power noisy stuff... These things are really good.
That's why I hope Red Dead Redemption 2 comes to PC. That game achieves what you just described better than any other I've played, with World Interaction and Shooting, the way AC Unity did it for Movement and Stealth. Players deserve to experience that game.
@@LeoKRogue oh ... rdr2 on pc is a dream. I actually find good levels of gameplay-ability (emergent) even if it is kinda very railed due to strict behavioral layers of AI put to missions or in general to things u can do to them (npc r kinda constrained in locking on u to make the game alive I guess - " notiriety system" and for other balancing / branching they could not solve I guess) but the game is really good. I love that i have actually the power to "text" in the game by the cameras (maybe too much.. they could just put high 3rd and 1st person ,not 2/3 3rd person zooms) and especially u can make your gameplay totally different by not only going first person but then going to the shop and spending few dollars to go into a HARDCORE TACTICAL SHOOTER with advanced iron sigths... i actually did it without noticing... infact i had some weps without it and others appearing instead with crosshair... so I said why that? Do i achieved some high level of knowledge? No i just did that at the shop! So u can actually can make the game tells stories and change depending on what u do... it s really nothing trivial. And anyway i love "semi realism or hardcore realism"... it s really a game to be played so slow! I love it... i hunt for hours ... without eagle and other super powers . I even get rabbits and everything else withou dead eye... why even using that... it s good just in the duels to put some Max payne into the game. Anyway why u mention rdr2?(edit: re reading i found why u say that...because i said when games get fully developed...indeed rdr2 needs maybe 6 months more and would be perfect... so i guess they will take 2 maybe 3 years to do it since a lot of stuff needs to be redone i guess from zero other stuff no maybe 2021 also not to cannobalize ps sales they come with pc version when all the f2p non upgrading many players will decide to move finally on new cpu etc... the pc markets are super not moving and indeed great games r struggling eapecially the development because these "players" just ask for optimization not core development: guess why? Because we have not all the chance to upgrade pc I think and due to invasion of f2p. Anyway back to topic...) So excited to play it again.. i am still at 33% of story now i an wanted and i dnt wanna go to jail to zero down my bounty nor pay the bounty :) ... i need to pay my errors with my gameplay :) Apparently with bounty i will not experience all the missions. I guess i will play 3 times. Super bad is the next .. this time i stay in the middle last will be super good boah... to play super good one needs to know all the tricks of the game. There is a 82 things list of things fo know on reddit which are super hard to remember. There is even a way to shoot in the air (arrow up) when u are in a robbery.. u shoot ppl to make them comply with the theft...
I have realised, during my past 4 years with AC Unity, understanding parkour flow and Art du deplacement movements in real life could really help supplement understanding in the Unity/Syndicate games, I started parcours in 2016 February, and you can gain a lot from just learning how movement works and to apply it in game (the reverse is true of course, by being able to learn from watching Arno, or rather his mocap actor)
This is very true. I did parkour in real life for a number of years, and it absolutely helps. This is even more the case when playing the Mirror's Edge franchise, another of my favorites.
That was really really helpful since I need more practice with being stealthy and a bit of movement. I’ve gotten combat perfectly fine now since I’ve improved and used stagger more but this helps so thank you.
@Leo K [Rogue] I've been working on a project about the evolution and devolution of the parkour in the AC games and your videos have been a tremendous help. Just wanted to say thanks 👍
Hey, I'm so glad! I hope it goes well, I know big projects can be tiring, so pace yourself, do one step at a time, and celebrate every bit of progress, it'll help a lot.
Awesome video, if people knew that, Unity would recive much more love than it does. You asked about other tips that you might have forgotten and I noticed you didn't talk much about the cover. As people constantly complain about not being able to get Arno covered where they want, and I used to have that problem too. Later I noticed that, to properly cover myself wherever I wanted, I must have the intended object at center of the screen and press cover while I'm pointing the analog to (moving towards) that object. Another problem I usually see is when people try to leave cover. They usually push analog to the side and press "exit cover". But that usually makes Arno swap covers, and people get angry about it. I know it's part of the game's tutorial but still worth mentioning. To exit they must push analog foward and the press "exit cover" or simply push analog to opposite direction of the cover.
I'm coming back to your channel in order to get some tips on AC Unity, as I started playing it again after upgrading my PC. I was just shook that you weren't screaming into my ears when I opened the video. A fun surprise.
I dunno why I do this but during my current playthrough I chose to stay with Arno's Tailored gear and choose not to buy other gear because I wanted to play the game with Arno's original clothes like from the trailer and sacrifice the number of tools like phantom blades I carry which makes the game a bit more challenging but more immersive for me XD
I wasnt able to play this game for idk what reason anymore, but I watched your videos and I learned quite a bit now that I can play it these video tips keep coming in my head whenever I'm parkouring around Paris, KEEP IT UP LEO!!!
Unity’s parkour seems to rely more on CAMERA control than CHARACTER control. Takes a while to get used to, but it’s awesome once you get the hang of it
this is a sick video dude u really go into detail for everything u need to know to be good at this game i played almost every assasins creed game but this one i was in a mood to play a assasins creed game so i figured why not try unity thats one i never played and its great so far im about 7 hours in and getting those classic ac vibes thanks for the guide man
Yup. They will, however, have a high chance of causing a detect if you just stand there -- and that causes your Attack button to swing your sword at them instead of insta-kill them with your Hidden Blade. I really dislike that. Generally speaking I don't advocate using Berserk Blades for their *actual* Berserk Effect just because of how slow it can be. Only for the Stun, which is super, super strong.
New sub here- playing Unity for the first time and your presentation here is really impressive. I’m a Souls vet who has finished most of those games- and your vibe definitely gives off a souls player vibe- but noticed you don’t have any souls game videos. Have you played any Souls games? With your analytical mindset and great attention to detail, I think you would love games like Bloodborne, Dark Souls 3, & Elden Ring.
I have played most Souls games, Bloodborne and Sekiro! ^_^ Bloodborne is my fave. I have a few videos I made on Elden Ring at the time it came out, if you're interested.
@@jcers It's really frickin easy to stealth in Odyssey since you're pretty much a demi god. What's bothersome is the parkour and the animations in general.
@@032_m.alfathcirrus5 what's wrong with the animations? I thought Odyssey used the same animations as Unity? (Parkour is fucking braindead though. I like the new AC games personally, but they did turn parkour into nothing.)
I'll be honest, didn't know what to expect for a tips video in a game without any sort of PVP. That's just me just having a natural grip of the game but I did learn some neat tricks and can't wait to play this game again since it's free on Xbox One next month. It truly was a game only haunted by a bad launch but was surprisingly a great game.
There are a few hidden tricks and things many players may not know, and instead of answering forum comments all the time I decided to just compile it into one guide with a Table of Contents people could reference haha. I'd love to see Unity's structure and style revisited in a polished, next gen AC title.
Yes. Berserk Blades reflect their Power in their cost for sure. If you clear lots of map space and grab a bunch of Social Clubs from the Templars to make more money, you'll be able to afford pretty much anything. Feel free to adjust your playstyle or try new things as you go along, there are several good options. :D
I'm probably very late, but your videos made me buy AC Unity. I was a fan of the series since 4 (my first game) and I played most of the main titles. I skipped Unity cause of the bad rep and eventually forgot about the series for a while. I bought Odyssey in 2019, hoping for a nostalgic experience, and what the fuck was that. I mean I enjoyed it as a game, it was okay I guess, sort of like a guilty pleasure /I PLATINUMED it/ But seeing your gameplay by accident I ultimately bought Unity just about a week ago. Already loving it. Yeah, the game is kinda buggy still, but it's not game-breaking. And when it goes well, it looks SO good. And all your videos made me appreciate that. Kudos to you, this is gonna be probably one of my fav games despite the issues.
No such thing as late, Om, thank you for your kind comment. :) Thank you so much for enjoying Assassin's Creed and forgiving Unity a chance. It can be a very frustrating game to play sometimes, but you just have to learn how to 'break' it in your favor.
@@LeoKRogue oh wow you replied to me (!!!!?????!?!?!?!?!) I'm not even exaggerating this is so amazing. Like your content and the way you play and everything else is just superb. And yep, some parts of Unity are DEFINITELY not 100% fixed, but like after seeing your gameplay and the ways you make the game look so amazing even with all its flaws is truly marvelous. You deserve so much more attention, the best ac gamer I've seen to date. Like legit your videos of AC Unity should be MANDATORY for someone starting Unity after its resurgence. Love your content.
Just bought it again on PS4. This AC is the best for its Parkour imho!! Holy hell so many tips I didnt know. But this is why I love games from Ubisoft they put so much gameplay opportunities and detail in to their worlds its mind blowing.
They don't make any noise at all while Smoke Bombs do. They're useful for very quickly disabling a few guards while leaving everyone around them completely undisturbed. There are very few scenarios in which a player would need to do this, so they are less useful than Smoke, but you can still pull them out in certain contexts. If you search for blackTIE's video "The Prophet Stealth Reaper" you can see very good use of Stun Bombs.
This video is amazing, hoping for more of the longer rogue academy videos. Most of them I knew by watching your videos , but some if them I didn't had a clue (like the instant remove markers, didn't knew you could hold and remove them all lol had trouble removing them ) . Shame that I have tests now , would love to play unity coop with you and talk more about ac games (or anything else in general ). You're an awesome dude , keep it up !
I wish so too, Angel. This video is a bit old and low-quality, so I want to remake it this year but a lot of this information, the game never teaches the player, and it leads to many having a negative experience.
Thank you! I seriously appreciate that. I would say definitely check out my other videos, because my voice sounds _awful_ in this one and it's pretty old (I'm planning to remake the whole thing) but I'm super glad that you decided to give me a chance.
still playing ac unity and i absolutely love it after so many years after its release and seeing this video helped me a lot with movement and the stealth movement
Dude, I know I am very late to the banquet sorta speak, but DAMN, what an amazing, exciting and memorable experience this is for a video explaining how you can absolutely make a big difference in the irritations you receive upon playing one of histories best game-series ever (IMO OFC) The only thing that I really REALLY hate about this, is the fact that I am just NOW come to realize that you and your perfectly understandable video exist. You have my eternal gratitude kind sir. MacSpacey out ! *Curtsy*
It's a running meme haha, not serious. The joke is that I learned a lot from other people but I'm the one who keeps getting asked to make guides when they could do it just as well. :P Don't sell the community short: a playerbase this dedicated has absolutely incredible players. Not everyone shares their knowledge though.

This amounts to about 25 guards in a neat pile, almost all of which will be in the radius of a poison (or the poison's bigger cousin, the mortar bomb)
Poisons are ridiculously useful, especially if you have multiple of them.
“Against their kind”
I agree, beserk blades are great, I use them on brutes often to cause I diversion for me to get past and in the bottom right I can just see the beserk blade kill points racking up

Too bad Unity was messed up on release. It really is the best looking AC game and had some of the most fluid movement in the series.
Well you can play games years after release you know
@@justmuppet1765 Yeah but let's be honest, the game is at it's best when you play with friends, but due to it's botched release and first few months, most people completely abandoned the game.
@@Adam-of9kd Iv downloaded the game yesterday. Iv been doing Co-op missions and its take at most a minute to find a group. Its usually pretty quick.
@Unreal Gam3er Lmao you're dumb. Those don't even count as ac games. Unity is the best.
I don't think its movement is that great at all. Honestly i think its fucking terrible. i spend most of my time in this game trying to get in a fucking window or to make a specific jump to a ledge. AC2 brother hood had the best most fluid climbing. Easy and simple consistency is the best.
Still one of the best Assassin's Creed in the franchise.
Definitely one of the most faithful to the original vision for the series! ^_^
Leo K [Rogue] yes the plot isn’t the ezio trilogy level, and the stealth could be smoother but the parkour/free running aspect was mastered in this game. If you practice enough the free running becomes soooo fluid that it looks like Arno dances over and under everything.
Twisted Carnage the gameplay is the best but the story is terrible pretty much
Best graphics + worst storyline
It’s my personal favorite
I’m extremely late, but here’s a movement tip:
When you hold the crouch button along with high profile (for consoles it’s L2 +R2/LT + RT) Arno will avoid running up random objects.

Ahhh, I still think they could've done *way* better on that front.
That's not why I play Assassin's Creed, and there are plenty of games that do this much better than AC's current incarnation does, anyway.
well hopefully we got it in mirage finally they listened!
Ubi says they're bringing the parkour back for Mirage!
Today I learned, that when crouched all nearby enemies and allies will show up on you Mini-Map. I had assumed it was only tied to eagle vision.

i just started unity this week and was having a lot of trouble with it coming from bf/rogue. this was incredibly helpful and i’m enjoying the game tons more now. thank you!!
I'm so glad!

I was recently coming back to AC Unity and was looking for tips, despite being an experienced player, and came across your video. This, by far, was the most informative guide I have found on RUclips.
That's actually really cool. I've noticed that happening once or twice, probably wouldn't be something I trust as a reliable tactic though.

I love Origins as well. ^__^
@@LeoKRogue origins is my fav odyssey was good but lacks elements ALOT
Excellent tips! I just got this game for free, I'm going to try these tips.

Hi Leo
Just on the combat:
When an agile enemy type is in a staggered state, for example after a perfect parry, or after a staggering strike, there is a window where they can be quickshotted.
You kind of made me see this game in a different light, probably a bad thing, which means I've been playing the game wrong. Thanks though.
We can always be better at something than we were, it's not a bad thing to realize you have more potential; especially when it leads to greater enjoyment. I'm glad you appreciate it and you're very welcome.
I think the game is really bad at teaching you how to play it, and in general is really counter-intuitive
That is correct. In most games this guide would be unnecessary but Unity is needlessly obtuse and has poor internal documentation.
"Ranged weapons are important in unity because they allow you to attack an enemy without putting your body near them." ...Thank you so much I was in dire need of familiarity with this concept
You would frankly be surprised how many people need foundational concepts spelled out before they can build greater strategy on top of them.

I hope you enjoy the game. It can be quite frustrating sometimes.
One tip that i haven’t seen anyone do is that after throwing a Poison Gas bomb
Shooting the poisoned guards with any projectile on any part of their body will instantly kill them, even with Berserk Blades.
Very cool.
I know this is also late but a neat thing for the berserk blade is that if you have 1 or 2 berserk enemies fighting a group there is a medium chance the berserk poison will spread and poison other guards in the vicinity
Indeed! If you have the time to wait for it or don't need to be crossing that space soon after Berserking, it can be helpful.

From all ac series, unity is my favorite graphicly
It's the most graphically impressive and detailed game in the franchise so that's fair. :P
Odyssey should use this game engine
Too late for that now haha. Ubi also changes and makes additions to the engine they use to build AC games from one release to the next. It's in a constant state of growth.
The view distance is very low somehow and the LOD too... my guess is that's too boost up performance.
Origins?
Revisiting this a few months later after replaying some of the earlier games.
AC Unity is amazing. 100% flawed, 100% beautiful, It is a broken masterpiece of Assassin’s Creed magic. Never before has the Assassin/Templar conflict been more perfectly reflected in the conflict between story/gameplay or player/gameplay.
Graphically, cmon, it’s still beautiful all these years later, and I prefer the art style to the newer titles (Origins-Valhalla)
It is the peak of the Assassin fantasy (for me).
100% flawed? that means Arno NEVER does what you want him to do. I'd say it's about 2% flawed.

Sniper Viewrange is the same as your Pistol/Rifle attack range. You can always quickly switch to one, Smoke onto your feet and Quickshot or Aimed Shot the Gunner if you're panicking. Smoke gives you a lot of time.
i recommend stop sprinting before you assassinate someone with a hidden blade since the kill animations in the sprinting version take about 2 to 3 seconds
bonus: when you're in a fight and you want to kill a guy quickly and silently i recommend quick shooting them with the phantom blade, finish him till he's about to fall, then press X (or space), it triggers an animation of arno kicking the guy on the ground silently, not killing him tho
(if you don't have the upgrade)
Yup!
I never knew an ac game could have so much depth

Anyway back to topic...) So excited to play it again.. i am still at 33% of story now i an wanted and i dnt wanna go to jail to zero down my bounty nor pay the bounty :) ... i need to pay my errors with my gameplay :)
Apparently with bounty i will not experience all the missions.
@@LeoKRogue never knew you did parkour irl
@@LeoKRogueyo you should definitely post a video or 2 about that if you have any. Would like to see it
That was really really helpful since I need more practice with being stealthy and a bit of movement. I’ve gotten combat perfectly fine now since I’ve improved and used stagger more but this helps so thank you.
You're very welcome, Hope. I'm glad I made things a little easier for you.
@@LeoKRogue thanks. I've put enough work in that I'm 1000% committed at this point. But doing it game by game gives nice natural separating points
Thanks for the comment!
I'm coming back to your channel in order to get some tips on AC Unity, as I started playing it again after upgrading my PC. I was just shook that you weren't screaming into my ears when I opened the video. A fun surprise.
^__^
I dunno why I do this but during my current playthrough I chose to stay with Arno's Tailored gear and choose not to buy other gear because I wanted to play the game with Arno's original clothes like from the trailer and sacrifice the number of tools like phantom blades I carry which makes the game a bit more challenging but more immersive for me XD
It's really, really fun. I have a complete Commentary Walkthrough of AC Unity No Upgrades on my channel.

I wasnt able to play this game for idk what reason anymore, but I watched your videos and I learned quite a bit now that I can play it these video tips keep coming in my head whenever I'm parkouring around Paris, KEEP IT UP LEO!!!
Thanks ^_^
Covering Cyberpunk and Valhalla nowadays, but Unity is something I always go back to eventually.
Unity’s parkour seems to rely more on CAMERA control than CHARACTER control. Takes a while to get used to, but it’s awesome once you get the hang of it
Generally speaking yes, where you point your camera affects a great deal.
Your voice is so smooth and comforting.
Thank you.
I THOUGHT AC ODD WAS FUN AS HELL...
I GRABBED THIS ONE??... Geez 🤦🏾♂️
I can't stop playing it 😂👍🏽
#latetotheparty
Ohh yeah, very different experiences. >:)
Unity will reward you a lot more for getting good at it.
this is a sick video dude u really go into detail for everything u need to know to be good at this game i played almost every assasins creed game but this one i was in a mood to play a assasins creed game so i figured why not try unity thats one i never played and its great so far im about 7 hours in and getting those classic ac vibes thanks for the guide man
Berserk blades make guards attack other guards even if you're beside them
Yeah I agree that's why I only use them as either a distraction or on missions with crazy amounts of guards
Thanks for making this video, it really helped me to play much better, and recently got my platinum trophy.
Thanks for watching! :)
I'm glad I was able to help you out, sorry for the scratchy voice and weird microphone quality.
i'm the kind of person who dodge/parry every attacks till all enemies come at me and have brawl with them
You're a maniac haha, that's pretty impressive
Can I do these in Odyssey with Alexios XD
We're going to find out.
This fucking guy. lmao
@@jcers
It's really frickin easy to stealth in Odyssey since you're pretty much a demi god.
@@LeoKRogue same. I'm enjoying Odyssey right now but I don't consider it 100% Assassin's Creed lol
Just started playing and berzecks are expensive af... i prefer making smoke bombs rain and use a heavy axe... works all the time
Yes. Berserk Blades reflect their Power in their cost for sure. If you clear lots of map space and grab a bunch of Social Clubs from the Templars to make more money, you'll be able to afford pretty much anything. Feel free to adjust your playstyle or try new things as you go along, there are several good options. :D
income from cafe theatre chest is up to 42000F
I'm probably very late, but your videos made me buy AC Unity. I was a fan of the series since 4 (my first game) and I played most of the main titles. I skipped Unity cause of the bad rep and eventually forgot about the series for a while. I bought Odyssey in 2019, hoping for a nostalgic experience, and what the fuck was that. I mean I enjoyed it as a game, it was okay I guess, sort of like a guilty pleasure /I PLATINUMED it/
But seeing your gameplay by accident I ultimately bought Unity just about a week ago.
Thank you so much for enjoying Assassin's Creed and forgiving Unity a chance.
This dude is like a fucking dictionary, perfect for a non-native speaker in order to improve formal language lmao
Thanks! I'm a non-native speaker myself, so I probably ended up picking up words from my classmates and other such sources.
Just bought it again on PS4. This AC is the best for its Parkour imho!! Holy hell so many tips I didnt know. But this is why I love games from Ubisoft they put so much gameplay opportunities and detail in to their worlds its mind blowing.
I'll be making a Syndicate version of this video in two months. Pretty excited. I'm glad you delved into Unity, it's got a LOT to offer.
I never use quick shot in my stealth run
Because I'm afraid it will not kill enemies instantly
Know I know the damage theory
Yes! :) That's why you build Damage across your whole character, it lets you Trust your projectiles more.
@@LeoKRogue thanks dude for reply so fast
@@lellel9998 halo bro
Excellent video, I started Unity now for the 1st time and was looking for this type of tips, thank you!
Glad to help, thanks for enduring my awful vocal quality. :P
@@LeoKRogue what equipment do you recomend?
So are stun bombs totally useless? I was experimenting with them earlier, and they just seemed like a shittier version of smoke
Once you get through your tests we'll see what we can do! :P
@@LeoKRogue As you say, mentor. *bows*
I wish this was the tutorial or training for th game
I wish so too, Angel.
This video is a bit old and low-quality, so I want to remake it this year but a lot of this information, the game never teaches the player, and it leads to many having a negative experience.
just bought this game after i watched Whitelights video on ACU, he recommended you so i'm here and subscribed now. great vids, much love man
Thank you! I seriously appreciate that.
I would say definitely check out my other videos, because my voice sounds _awful_ in this one and it's pretty old (I'm planning to remake the whole thing) but I'm super glad that you decided to give me a chance.

Great video by the smooth and articulate Leo, it will I'm sure greatly enhance my enjoyment of this game.
