Just want to say that I NEVER once realized the rooms codex pages were held in were banks. I DID always wonder why they looked like the room Ezio always talked to his father in. You know, his father. A banker. My mind has been sufficiently blown
@@00Batman Its actually a pretty cool story. There is a tomb in Monteriggioni which hold the Auditore family crypt (part of a DLC I think). There if you follow the story it tells you how Ezio's ancestor had the Codex with him, but since he was about to be captured, broke the book into individual pages and hid them among the treasures that he was travelling with. So over time they must have passed around wealthy individuals who knew their significance.
I actually tried to do my best to be stealthy and smooth in ac1 since there were actual missions which required of you to stay stealthy , still i managed to finish the game and beat it , what did i learn? well a lot of things but most importantly is that i should be pacient and not just run over and instantly get detected
@SMOKED_Pigeon agreed. Not many people realise social stealth is the key to succeed in stealth for AC1. Social stealth, throwing knives and roof tops are your best friend in AC1
If they make Altaïr OP out of nowhere it wouldn't be right. We know Altaïr for having a focus on stealth rather than combat. He's slow, yes, but that's also part of his personality. if that suddenly changes it would ruin the experience. If there's ever a AC1 remake they better bring back the manual vaults, the game wouldn't be AC 1 if this feature isn't on it
There's just something so satisfying about successfully playing stealth in a game that does not provide many proper stealth mechanics. It really feels like you are literally beating the game on your own terms. That's one of the reasons why I love the old ACs. I still remember when I was playing Brotherhood, I somehow realized that by holding down high profile and run buttons without moving the left sticks, Ezio would go into a crouch position, allowing him to hide behind some short walls which he normally wouldn't be able to hide behind. Exploiting a starter for jump animation for stealth is the most hilarious thing I've done in that game. I also remember in AC4, if you hold run button in bushes, Edward would go out of stealth state, allowing you to exploit NPCs' line of sight to draw their attention, which I found way more effective and precise than whistling. I exploited the crapped out of this unintended mechanic in all the stealth missions. Lmao
Oh and iirc in Revelations, after a counter steal, you can infinitely punch any enemy to death with your fist. This is not a stealth mechanic, but it was so funny against some elite enemies that can't be insta killed by a normal counter. Man those old ACs are so good. They are perfectly imperfect.
It's funny, but I resonate with this statement quite a lot, to the point where my friends started to make memes about me, saying things like; "You would do Stealth in freaking _Mario Kart_ if you could." A bunch of the really old stealth videos I made when I was still getting this channel off the ground were based on this perverse joy of sneaking around in games that obviously don't really want you to do it. I did Ghosting in Wolfenstein, in The Order 1886, and a few others. Cheeky, looking back. And yeah! Counter-Steal letting you just _remove_ enemy defenses was nuts.
@@LeoKRogue counter steal is stupid good in revelations and it’s a shame almost no one uses it considering not a single enemy in the game is immune to counter steal, so you can do it and then either insta kill them, or just hit them to death. Janissaries become an absolute joke with counter steal, and it’s hilarious
Funfact again early in ac black flag before you get blow darts you can abuse the sound that the gun makes to get enemies there then kill them or distract and run past them
I'll keep it in mind, if I have some time I can scribble together a video like this. Some basics: - Do not try hiding in bushes if guards have already spotted you to the point their SSI has blinked Red. You'll not be able to hide anymore (Connor will refuse to duck) and you'll be detected. However, this totally works around corners. Step out from a corner, have the guard's detection meter (SSI) flash Red for a second, then hide behind the corner again. When he comes by you can Corner-Assassinate him. - Poison Darts in AC3 are just as strong as they are in Brotherhood and Revelations. Connor has fewer of them, but they're very useful, so make 'em count. - Fist Takedowns do not count as Kills for optional objectives. - At a certain point in Present Day, Desmond will steal a Pistol by defeating a certain enemy. You can use this Pistol to decimate your enemies by mashing your Quickshot Button (Triangle/Y). Holding it down will reload it, like any other gun. - Tomahawk has the fastest attack speed out of any weapon, and deals good damage, so prioritize using it in combat over all else.
Feels so satisfying to finally see all these tips and rants you accumulated throught so many videos into one final concrete video showcasing and explaining everything. spooky audio jolt at 4:20 but otherwise great video Leo always nice to see Stealth content from you
Doing a full playtrough myself during qaurintine! Just beat ac1 again, and fuck meee the gaurds will chase you all the way across the fucking city if you don't go to a hiding spot lol
@@LeoKRogue Yeah, thats a good part. But when you go back to the first one after years of the newer ones, it really plays against you since you normally just outrun them. Next thing you know the entire city gaurd is on you, and at that point I struggle to escape long enough to hide. So, welp, thats kinda how Jerusalem fell. My bad, had to murder everyone
this guide is stunning for me, i've never realized about the posibilities that these games have, cause as a player who always want to play in the most stealth way as possible, they're really useful for me. P.S. i recently discovered your channel and i really love the way you play and your videos in general
A couple of months ago a friend told me that ac2 was free, and I almost didn’t claim it, recently I’ve been having some bad moments with school stress problems and unity and completing AC2 again is helping me a lot Both of these games are very fun and the story is meaningful and beautiful at least for me. Btw playing AC 2 again made me really happy because it was my first game, it was the first game I ever played and it’s beautiful playing it again brought me some beautiful memories, I definitely will not get tired of AC2 not only because of a emotional connection but also because the story, the characters and the places (I went to Venecia last year and playing it in ac2 made me cry) all of those thing are beautiful and is not a copy paste game with no meaning like a cod that is made to sell tons of copies every year, this feel like a beautiful game and for last... I still remember playing throw the maps, going finally from villa auditores throw the mountains and forgi to get to Venecia and as a kid I still remember the “wow, this map is gigantic, ad I’m playing in Italy” I love AC and moments like these are beautiful to play and remember
Thank you for the beautiful comment. I feel much the same way, about most of the Assassin's Creed games, especially AC1, AC2, AC Brotherhood and AC Revelations, all taken together. There's something incredible about Altair and Ezio's journeys and how they influence each other, centuries apart, as well as how Desmond learns from both their lives. Thank you for playing Assassin's Creed and for loving this game.
@@LeoKRogue something also beautiful is the how we see ezio’s life from being a baby in ac2 to an adult who still needs to learn, being a master assassin and finally in revelation we could see him as a wise master assassin someone that understands the creed “nothing is true everything is permitted” and that is an observation of reality. I never had the same emocional connection in AC Brotherhod or revelations than in AC2. It still love them all. Also is funny remember my play style as a kid before, for example in unity and ezio trilogy I always went straight to the combat, now more experienced I am improving my stealth in unity and I’m pretty decent and that’s what brought me back to your Chanel, I watched your videos like 2 years ago and playing unity now and learning how to master stealth brought me back here ;P
10:30 Thank the heavens. I was worried you'd leave this out. I don't remember how I got into doing it, it began with Black Flag and it was reliable as Hell. Hide in bush, hold high profile to alert guard to about half detection, release High Profile, and cover Assassinate when he walks up. I could clear entire bloody camps by selectively "Taunting." each individual guard outside areas like this. The SSI lure is half broken, half hilarious. Or entirely both, but entirely useful. Unity even works with it. Used to do that for certain museum rooms. Odyssey could... but what Odyssey does is beyond my concern now. I feel ashamed to have 95% Achievements in it.
Origins and Odyssey are a bit weird with it, yep. Valhalla... Doesn't even let you SSI Lure to begin with, because of instant detects when you're spotted.
I've been playing the AC series for years and I just learned today that I can throw smoke bombs in Brotherhood. Thank God I just started my 100% playthrough, this'll make things so much easier
I watched this video just as I was getting into AC, just came to say thanks for teaching this to me, I probably wouldn't have gotten through the games nearly as easily if it wasn't for you.
I started ac 2 2 years while covid started now i have completed ezio triology and started unity but after seeing your gameplay i want to play brotherhood and creed 2 again Ur content are awesome
Fantastic video man! You could also do the charged knife takedown in AC2 though. You needed to go to the training ring in Monteriggioni, then you could pay the guy to teach you special moves. One of the special moves is the charged knife takedown ;) I know you already know this trick, but you could have also mentioned that you can hire factions from a distance if you lock onto them in the 'Factions' section of the vid. Again, great vid though :D
It can only be done in combat though. Now, what actually makes me scratch my head is the "Intimidate" move with your Pistol. It's supposed to strip enemies of their morale until they run away scared. It never works for me in actual combat scenarios. And what's the point of this if you can't cancel your shot and have to kill them anyway?
@@bloodymares It works if you hold your gun long enough. You'll have to cancel a few times, though, but the 'spook-o-meter' will fill eventually. ^IIIRC.
@@m.tammekivi thing is, you can't really cancel properly in AC2 unlike in ACBH and Revelations. So what ends up happening is that I aim at an enemy, don't have the time to scare him off because he starts an attack, I release and shoot the fool. Or even if I miraculously manage to scare him into running away, there is only one option for me which is to shoot him in the back, wasting my bullet. So I don't bother with it.
One thing i like to add to point 6 is while you're in blend grace your blend freeze's when you assassinate guards meaning you can kill guards and still stay invisible.
Thank you! Ac2 would be my favorite game if I felt like I had more control. I tried to use knives but it doesn’t kill guards with one hit so they will always turn around and notice me so it was useless to me
Thankfully, more control is something you can eventually build up to. The throwing knife problem definitely sucks and bothers me too, I think they do it to push you into using the Hidden Gun in the latter half of the game since that kills everything and is pretty stealthy if you're far away, or completely invisible if you shoot it from inside a Hired Courtesan Blend Group.
Just completed AC2, and while I'm not sure if this would be considered stealth or not. One of the most effective strategies I found when you need to deal with enemies while you have a faction that fights, is to let them go into battle, and rather than pulling out your weapon, you try to walk behind the enemy and do hidden blade assassinations. You can keep doing this and enemies will never agro you as they are too focused fighting your allies. Also for the codex rooms. I personally found using the faction to both get in and out works fine, no smoke bomb necessary. If I had no factions around to recruit I would use a smoke bomb to get in and then another to get out.
Yep, I'm on my first playthrough of AC2 in a bit and I abuse this as much as possible whenever I get put in situations where I can do that, it even works with swords since Ezio has a backstab animation when you get a kill from behind
The lock-on walk away works for smoke bombs in AC2! You target lock VERY close to them then walk away. Toss the smoke bomb at your feet in and it will magically hit the locked target not your feet. Not practical like the hidden gun but can still be used as a flex. Literally throwing smoke bombs in AC2 at your enemies from down the street. I discovered this in AC2 about a year ago and have never heard anyone mention it.
@@LeoKRogue Hopefully you will find a creative use for the smoke bomb tech. It's on 360 version of AC2 though I don't think that will make a difference. Currently replaying 360 version of Rev. The hookblade is way more versatile than I remembered.
thanks for the vid, but I have one more question, why do I need to throw 2 knives even at an archer? is there a way to make it a one-hit-kill and a way that makes them lose only a half of their healthbar?
In Brotherhood, if you throw a single Knife at an Archer, they'll probably take Half HP Damage and detect you. If you Charge a Knife and then release it, it should instant kill with only a single knife lost. In Assassin's Creed 2, sadly at a certain point in the story, Archers start to just have more health, so throwing knives at them will never kill them in one throw, no matter what you do. That's why Hidden Gun replaces Knife as your stealth ranged weapon (it's stealthier than it seems.) One of the reasons I love AC1 so much is that Knives are *always* an instant kill from stealth, no matter who you throw one at (except Targets/Bosses) and I think that's awesome.
@@LeoKRogue Well that's a shame, now I have to terrorize venezia with the slow-ass gun, atleast it's still a great part of the arsenal. Thanks for the help.
Learn Flying Knives from the Monteriggioni Fight Ring's Special Skills menu and then you can hold your Knives down in combat. Releasing will cause them to instant kill, but in AC2, Charging Knives like this cannot be done in Stealth, only in Combat.
@@LeoKRogue Oh damn, I always tried this on the Venezia archers and never been able to trigger, now I get it. Time to play this goldmine again, I suppose!
Stuff with sustainable lock-range (I'm know of that trick) after you demonstrated this a thought came to my mind it's been shoved in the first AC2 trailer at the end! About throwing smoke bombs in AC:B - didn't know! And in AC2 luring guards with bombs.
Nice, nice! If you want to see a lot of these tricks in action, you can check out my Commentary of All Assassination Contracts done with No Detects (unless forced). ruclips.net/video/GGcV66tS48A/видео.html Check out my friend Kinography as well, he has a _very_ in-depth guide on the Social Stealth system in the Ezio Trilogy, much, much more advanced than what I teach in my videos and highly recommended if you really want to push the game to the absolute limit. ruclips.net/video/clSXyANb9zQ/видео.html
One of the rare times in gaming where you can straight up recreate the feeling of a moment from its cinematic trailer in normal gameplay, it's so sick.
Holy shit. I've played Brotherhood since 2012 and replayed various amount of times, but I never knew your could throw smoke bombs from far distance in enemies by lock-on.
Me too. I always thought the smoke are not that much. And since in brotherhood counter and chain kill is a thing. I never use it in combat again to chain kill. However I love using ranged weapon it's to op. XD
The most frustrating thing about smoke bombs is that you can only have 3 on you, which deplete very quickly, and that you have to select it as a weapon first. At least in Revelations you have a dedicated button for secondary weapons like smoke bombs and throwing knives which helps.
Thanks! If you do have Thieves there's not really a need to do this, you can just pull them away from the get-go, but with Courtesans this way is very very safe.
@@LeoKRogue never noticed you can only use the ability in combat in AC2, I've only used it in combat because I saw it useful then, but that was before watching this video, thanks for the tips
Leo K [Rogue], I think I’ve seen them, but play when in the simulation please. Such as play as Haytham or Connor. I’d like to see how’d you play the game in the simulation.
If you want to really get good at these three games, search up Kinography's Ezio Trilogy Social Stealth Guide Playlist and watch them at 1.5 or 2x Speed. Some amazing info in there that even I didn't know about when I made this.
Alternatively, and much quicker, just rebuy Ammo from Shops since the Florins you get for finishing Memories are more than enough to restock on your bullets, knives and smokes. :D
Hay can you do assassins creed 3/ rouge or just assassins creed games in the revolutionary war because I find it’s hard to be stealthy because if you get spotted you rlly fast get shot and the sound draws in the other guards
also, i think that if you poison dart a guard then knock him out, if the full sync requires not killing a guard, i think poison to punch dosen't fail the full sync. that would be good
I understand that throw money is pretty useless, but I just want to use it whenever I can because it's just so cool. When following behind a notorious patrol, throw money, then go in front and run. Throw money at a horse rider to steal (buy) their horse. Throw money at a broom wielder to steal (buy) their broom. Throw money at a musician to stop ear torture. But most importantly throw money at a poisoned guard and watch him ruthlessly murder like 30 helpless civilians who keep throwing themselves at him just for the prospect of earning a piece of the 10 florins you throw on the ground. Do you know whether the animation of a guard after they see thrown money does anything other than delay their patrol and change the direction they face?
If you watch Execution Producer's videos, he has some amazing tech that blooms out of Throw Money. It's actually really useful, just not in the ways we first assumed. Namely, you can throw money _through walls_ and the changing of guard-facing can be used in specific missions.
NOTE: you can only quick throw smoke bombs when you're facing the direction of the target so if you're looking in the opposit direction, you won't be able to throw it not that so you don't get detected so quickly without knowing the cause
@@LeoKRogueit’s just straight up better in many situations to hiring factions to distract guards. extremely powerful tool that unfortunately i don’t see many people incorporate into stealth. it’s actually insane how good money is
Congrats for the videos. Really enjoy your contents. I am a new AC player and i am completely fascinated for the serie. I began with Odyssey. Now i am playing the fantastic Unity. Odyssey is good but I gotta say, Unity is much better. There is this thing about assassins that you do not see in Odyssey. After that, i will go through AC 2 and then the others.
Sounds good! I hope you keep enjoying them. The older games are a little more difficult to get comfortable with, but they're all really good games. If you have questions on your Assassin's Creed journey, I'll do my best to help you out.
I don't mind it being on Ezio's back, to be honest. I just think the mechanics of the weapon aren't worth using since everything else Ezio gets covers their same functions. If you enjoy it, that's great! Have fun with it. :D
@@LeoKRogue ah ok. No your tips were great, I was just unsure about superblend in particular until I did some testing and found out that it works across the entire trilogy. The way you phrased it made it sound like it only works in AC2, but the confusion is over now that I’ve been made aware through my own testing that it works in all the ezio games
One of the really dumb things about unity was the removal of Whistling, like we had to resort to the premative stand up and let them see you tso they walk over tactic even when they are like 2 meters away but not quite close enough for a stealth take down...
the problem i have with the poison dart punch trick is that the game doesn't seem to differentiate between unarmed and armed kills. For example in the brotherhood mission "the ringer" the optional objective is to kill only the target. I thought this would be a good place to use the poison punch but it turns out the game still counts it as killing them and you fail the full sync
Yeah, it's a bit odd. Some memory conditions don't get breached by a Punch removing the last of an enemy's HP, and some do - the criteria for it also don't seem to be the same between Brotherhood/Revelations. It can be pretty inconsistent. :/
I am watching this to try to see if it suggests any approach or reveal your mindset over modern games not only AC ... and AC of course. Omg.. I just realized the asset used for running animation of Ezio the Toscano (not the cigar) is actually the same of Basim, oh no, why that, I mean it doesn't look cool.. please!(sincerely I do consider animation still important, here I understand the game was maybe more quality based and well crafted but the animations are a bit underwhelming: example 7:00, the guards falling..)
There's a little bit of myself in all my videos, but I don't play games as immersively as you do. I have a very "break the game and use everything to the fullest extent I can" mindset. In every game.
Yo leo here is me watching it 4 the fourth time R there any rly badass Tricks in the Ezio trillogy like the trick of jumping twice then dropping in Ac 1?
Correct. Only in Combat, not in Stealth. Try it yourself! ACB and ACRev charged knives can be used from Stealth and FOR Stealth. That's why they're covered here while AC2 charged knives are not.
Leo K [Rogue] I was wondering why in the Venice “De La Seta” Assassination mission the knife charge didn’t work.Cause the Throwing knifes don’t kill in one shot anymore once you get to Venice.
@@LeoKRogue i too came to know this in like 4 days back. I knew it is there but didn't knew how to unlock it. In ac revelation video of the rip ac video he showed it.
Mhm! It's because Crouching isn't necessary in classic Assassin's Creed games, they were _never_ designed with it in mind, the player has all the actions they need to clear missions without needing to duck down close to the ground. Honestly, crouching is rarely needed in Unity or Syndicate either because of how strong movement and tools are.
crouching isn’t needed in the old games because the entire game is meticulously designed around not being able to crouch. using the game’s mechanics effectively is how you succeed at stealth in these games. think of low profile and social stealth as your crouch buttons instead
this isnt exactly stealthy (let's just call it "extreme" high profile, i guess) but i found out how to double assassinate in ac brotherhood with one hidden blade. also, these tips sound very useful and i might use them next time i play. nice vid btw.
@@shinobimsh5687 it's not at all stealthy. it will get you detected every time (so i wouldn't recommend for stealth missions) but what you wanna do is: Tackle someone, lock on to enter combat. Then ground stab them and use the chain execution mechanic to kill the next guy (this next guy should be whoever is about to attack you)
Do you have any tips on how to make money in brotherhood? Or any tips that only apply to brotherhood? I just competed sequence 3 and I feel kinda all over the place with borgia towers and the renovation and my armour/gadgets
Just keep blowing up Borgia Towers and buying shops. Also doing Main Memories and Side Memories gives a good amount of cash too. You only feel money-starved this early on.
Consistency, Reliability In AC1 to roughly around Syndicate, you can reasonably predict the consequences your actions will have on the game world, and make strong plans that work every time. Starting in Origins, there is always a statistical uncertainty, which introduces a lot of sluggishness and ambiguity in the system. It lessens the impact of good decision-making. You can be the smartest player in the world, but on occasion, the number-disparity will irrevocably screw you over. In Valhalla in particular, stealth is currently immensely bugged, as well. The way detection works is seemingly random, and some of the strongest publicly-known AC stealth players in the world haven't quite figured it out. Until Ubi moves to patch and address this, you can be in front of a guard and he won't care from right up in his face, or you can be on the outskirts of a compound and be instant wall-hacked into a full area-detect by a stray archer who glimpsed the edge of your body.
I really appreciate your videos and you helped me to learn the franchise way better. But why would you use a smoke bomb to get into a bank and THEN use your hired faction? When you use thieves and kurtisanes they got totally distracted and you can walk in and out with ease and don't have to waste a smoke bomb. I always do it this way and I never had any problems
Mostly because it's cool as hell, to be honest. There's something really 'evil' and sneaky about distracting people from _inside_ the building. On some James Bond type beat. But, of course, Thieves at the entrance is objectively better.
So how do i do a fist drop a guy that did a parkour snippet told me it was a fist drop Can i do it in brotherhood and revelations too? Thanks for the tip about smoke in brotherhood
A similar thing was once possible in Unity on early patches of the game, by dropping Money at your feet, waiting until Arno did the "bend down" animation while blended with Civilians, then sprinting out of the animation. From then on, you could never be detected again, provided you didn't blend with civilians again or reload your game.
Hey Leo, I’ve been having some inconsistency with the charged knives in Revelations in that they don’t always seem to kill everyone they hit. Am I doing something wrong?
It could be the case, I only rigorously tested Brotherhood and logically assumed Revelations would be the same. If your own observations are that it's not super reliable, definitely switch off.
Alright, this isn’t extraordinarily rigorous, but this is what I’ve found: Charged knives in Revelations do not increase damage in any way (if I had to guess why, I’d say it’s likely to encourage the player to use lethal bombs). They exist only for the purpose of allowing you to throw multiple knives simultaneously. Knives one-shot: Gunners, archers, regulars, agiles Knives don’t one-shot: Brutes, seekers, armoured enemies, Janissaries
i am pretty afraid from the slowness of assassination animations in the old AC games, like in AC unity assassinating takes like 0.5sec to excute. should i be afraid or i'll just get used to it eventually
Assassinate people in low profile to do it faster. You'll get used to it. Also, animations in old AC games are always the same, as opposed to Unity in which they're random. Once you get used to their exact lengths, they become very easy to manage due to their consistency.
How do you feel about the criticism that the original AC games lacked a crouch or stealth mode button? I first heard it as a joke (which was fine, i thought it was a funny), but lately I've been seeing people levy it as an actual criticism of these games. Personally I dont think these games need a stealth button, as your low profile mode is your stealth mode. But its a really common complaint even among assassins creed fans so I want to hear someones take who is better at these games than me.
It is a joke LOL. Classic Assassin's Creed games were built and designed AROUND not needing a crouch button, so people who say they need one aren't using the existing stealth mechanics effectively and are trying to play it like a game that it's NOT.
Hey man, I started Revelations a few days ago, and I can't seem to one shot some guards with Flying Knives or even the Hidden Gun sometimes (they led to frustrating full sync fails). Any fix for that? Am I doing something wrong?
Any particular tips for AC3? Playing through the whole series getting the platinums and I’m finding stealth (especially forts) a lot harder than the ezio trilogy.
Poison Darts are really good for eliminating enemies at a distance. Lure people visually to a corner and stab them for a corner-takedown. Take it slow. AC3 stealth is really broken and inconsistent, even among other AC games.
The fort designs suck in AC 3, you have to know the exact route and procedure in order to take a fort undetected. There's even this ridiculously cheesy path I went to take down a fort that was on the edge of a cliff. You veer to the right of the front gate then slide down a slope into a log that's precariously hanging on two edges then climb up, climb the tree and free run to one of the outpost's roof, leaf of faith and kill the guy next to the haystack, SSI trick the Captain into a the corner of the powder storage room then corner kill him, ignite the powder storage, climb a tree then wait on the roof until you can yeet straight to the flag before people detect you.
I'm replaying ac2 because nostalgia and I feel like the detection is extremely inconsistent... sometimes I'm just instantly detected by several guards, they don't go yellow, then red, then attack, they just see me and attack instantly, is that a bug or am I being dense? btw, is there any way of killing later guards with a single knife or do I have to go for gun when I can't be detected? for some reason I never got the charged throwing knifes to work in that game except in the training ground in montereggioni, again, bug or me being dense? as for the banks, I just use the factions without the smoke bomb, just hire them, distract the guards, walk in and out without being bothered.
Instant Detection depends on what you're doing, really. In certain Main Missions certain guards are coded to detect you instantly, you really just don't want to be walking into those areas without a Blend Group. Guards in Restricted Areas will also instantly attack you on sight if they've been previously disturbed, like let's say you've recently killed someone and they've seen their body and such. Charged Knives only work in Combat in AC2. They can be thrown from Stealth only in Brotherhood and Revelations. The best approach to projectile-kill single targets in AC2 is to use the Hidden Gun after locking and walking away a short distance. And yup, good call on Factions! I think I was being unnecessarily Swag in my approach haha
@@LeoKRogue oooh okay, makes sense now that I think about it, it recently happened in venice when assassinating the guy whose name I don't recall now... where the thieves help you out (or rather, you help them), he caught a glimpse of me and the entire fort was on my heels, as for the others I might well have let some roof guy flop to the street, that'll be it. huh... that really makes throwing knifes a lot worse, I mean by the time you charged them in open combat someone has surely maced you in the face, right? thought so, all the guards in forlí and venice will just have to be shot then, good to have that confirmed ^^ thank you for replying so quickly and extensively, I sure wasn't expecting that :D found your channel a bit ago and pretty much instantly subbed, love your content, it's informative, entertaining and your tutorials on the older acs are amazing and on point. @@LeoKRogue sorry to bother you again but this instant detection thing happened 4 times in 10 minutes and this time I just don't know why... in freeroam (no noteriety, no restricted area, no body found) I high profiled on a roof behind some guard, just within the lock on range, he instantly drew his sword and called me stronzo, same thing happened with another one when I just pulled up onto the roof about 5 metres away from him, he turned around from not having seen me at all, aggroed and instantly put his sword in my face before I could do anything (I wasn't even in high profile that time - I instantly released that when ezio pulled up) the thing that caused me to annoy you again was that one guy that caught a glimpse (just started to turn yellow) of me while I was on a roof next to him, I jumped to a hanging position on his roof and he instantly aggroed and smacked me in the face. all of them were random rooftop guards outside of safezones, none were alerted in any way before it and I'm confused af

I'm finding it really frustrating when I'm just fighting dudes and the controls switch to high profile mode. I'm on PS4 and I'm pressing square to keep punching, then it switches to counter. Please help.
You're always in Low Profile by default. By holding R2, you switch into High Profile. (You'll see Ezio's stance shift a little too.) To avoid that happening, try not to panic squeeze R2 when you're fighting. If you're not doing that, make sure your controller's okay and that all your button bindings are at their defaults.
In AC2, you need to buy it as an Unlockable Move from the guy at the Fight Ring in Monteriggioni. Then you need to be _in combat_ and hold your attack button down with knives equipped. In ACB and ACRev you can do it any time, and you can do it from stealth.
You can make it a bit bigger in the later games (from Revelations and forward) but yes, in AC2 and Brotherhood, we're limited to just three. Definitely a little annoying but it's something we can play around.
With regards to infiltrating banks, why can't we just let the courtesans/thieves lure them away and then go in? Isn't it a bit less efficient in terms of resources? P.S. I've already tried the "smoke and kill" tactic. I got detected by another group of guards, not so effective in this situation it seems lol
With Thieves, by all means, go for it. With Courtesans however, they don't lure them to another area, they stay a short distance away, and there is a chance they 'de-aggro' the girls by the time you're coming out of the bank again. On your way out, you _can_ be detected. By luring from inside, it gives you the widest amount of time possible, that's all.
Was pretty bummed to find out that as you progress through the game, it takes two throwing knives to kill a normal guard. The same normal guards at the very beginning are an easy one throwing knife away from being detected.
Yeah. Hidden Gun kills those guards though, it's designed to push you into using that to respond. As long as you're far from people, Hidden Gun is still stealthy.
Me, an economist: directly throws money at guards to get past them, because it’s cheaper than hiring factions for 150 bucks😂
Real big brain hours
And funny enough it’s more of the social stealth option than hiring allies
amateur. Lure the guards onto high ground and kill them with fall damage, costs $0
besides throwing money is inconsistent
Only base guards will go to the money, the stronger guards will remain in place
@@BRay-nw6lt in a lot of situations, throwing money is way better than hiring factions
Just want to say that I NEVER once realized the rooms codex pages were held in were banks. I DID always wonder why they looked like the room Ezio always talked to his father in. You know, his father. A banker.
My mind has been sufficiently blown
;D
I never realized too that the rooms of the codex pages are banks until i watched the video and read your comment, mate...
Why did so many random Italian bankers have ancient scrolls of knowledge written by Altair
@Joe Guajardo 😐
So over time they must have passed around wealthy individuals who knew their significance.
it woud be so cool with a remake of ac1 with these features. My boi altair is still stuck with the slow as hell scholar walk
Scholar walk is ace, though. v__v
And you need to have patience
Funfact again early in ac black flag before you get blow darts you can abuse the sound that the gun makes to get enemies there then kill them or distract and run past them
When i was child i do the same thing with the ezio trilogy, feels like a hack or something, so good memories
Seeing Brotherhood gameplay makes me really happy. It makes my personal Holy Trinity with AC1 and Unity. Nice work!.
I think those three might be my favorite too, upon reflection.
Hidden Gun is king. Ezio says so himself to Leonardo: ''You've done me good, brother!''
Sorry for the scary audio-spike at 4:20, totally unintentional and don't even know why it happened.
I would like to see some AC3 tips if you can provide any.
@@John190assman A Kenway Saga video maybe 🤔
I'll keep it in mind, if I have some time I can scribble together a video like this. Some basics:
- Do not try hiding in bushes if guards have already spotted you to the point their SSI has blinked Red.

Awesome!
Doing a full playtrough myself during qaurintine! Just beat ac1 again, and fuck meee the gaurds will chase you all the way across the fucking city if you don't go to a hiding spot lol
Yup! Conversely, since they're not programmed to Check hiding spots, getting in one restores you to Anonymous faster than in any other AC game.

Thanks Nebula! I really appreciate that, I hope I can help you enjoy the games I cover more and more.
A couple of months ago a friend told me that ac2 was free, and I almost didn’t claim it, recently I’ve been having some bad moments with school stress problems and unity and completing AC2 again is helping me a lot
Both of these games are very fun and the story is meaningful and beautiful at least for me.
Also is funny remember my play style as a kid before, for example in unity and ezio trilogy I always went straight to the combat, now more experienced I am improving my stealth in unity and I’m pretty decent and that’s what brought me back to your Chanel, I watched your videos like 2 years ago and playing unity now and learning how to master stealth brought me back here ;P
the parkour mechanic was simple, easy and accurate on where u want to go, especially the drop button, it was really helpful
I think so too.
@@LeoKRogue Instant dete-? Good to know. I'll stay with Ezio.
Not gonna lie I actually liked AC2’s stealth. While it was clunky it still provided a good challenge and required more tactics and brain cells
It gets pretty fun once you learn how guards react to different actions, for sure.

Fantastic video man!
You could also do the charged knife takedown in AC2 though. You needed to go to the training ring in Monteriggioni, then you could pay the guy to teach you special moves. One of the special moves is the charged knife takedown ;)
I know you already know this trick, but you could have also mentioned that you can hire factions from a distance if you lock onto them in the 'Factions' section of the vid.
Again, great vid though :D
I talked about this but in AC2 it can ONLY be done when already Detected. Try, you'll see.
@@bloodymares I always cancelled my shot by just opening up the weapon wheel. But yeah I don't think there's a proper way to cancel the shot.
@@bloodymares
It works if you hold your gun long enough.
Epic video and epic channel bro. Safety and peace
Safety and Peace, Brother.
All very good uses of the tools the game gives you.
That seems like it shouldn't work... I'll test it again soon and if it is a thing I'll make a short video and credit you. Crazy if real though.
You are the reason im so good at ac 2 parkour im currently playing ac rogue and then moving onto ac 3 might pickup brotherhood again
That's awesome to hear.
Is there a way to make throwing knives one shot in ac 2? It seems not to kill later in the game
There is not. You would switch them out for Hidden Gun at that point.
@@LeoKRogue I do remember a training session in Monteriggioni where Ezio learns it. Never been able to use outside of that session though.
Just remember you can only do it when you're already Detected haha.

Thank you. Yes, I will be doing All Contracts in Brotherhood.

The most frustrating thing about smoke bombs is that you can only have 3 on you, which deplete very quickly, and that you have to select it as a weapon first. At least in Revelations you have a dedicated button for secondary weapons like smoke bombs and throwing knives which helps.
Yup, that's the price we pay for their immense power. AC2 is the closest they came to being balanced.
2:00 bro that's genius
Thanks! If you do have Thieves there's not really a need to do this, you can just pull them away from the get-go, but with Courtesans this way is very very safe.
Number 7 can also be done in AC 2, it is a combat ability you acquire at Monteriggioni
But only in combat. In Brotherhood and Revelations you can do it while no one has detected you. This is a video of Stealth tips.

Jesus Christ I have to try the last one 😂
Thank you 😊

Dude I'm pretty much a veteran of the entire AC franchise and even I learn something new today ,thx 🤙
Glad to hear it :)
Time to play the Ezio trilogy for the 11th time
That's the spirit >:3
the problem i have with the poison dart punch trick is that the game doesn't seem to differentiate between unarmed and armed kills.
@@LeoKRogue Fast food isn't good! :)
Yo leo here is me watching it 4 the fourth time
R there any rly badass Tricks in the Ezio trillogy like the trick of jumping twice then dropping in Ac 1?
Not really, Ezio trilogy tricks are more centered around Stealth and Combat.
@@LeoKRogue oof cazzo
You can charge knives in ac 2 it’s an ability you unlock at Monterrigionni
Leo k another one, in brotherhood and revelation courtesan can poison the guards.
Weird, I've never encountered that in years and years of playing these games.
@@LeoKRogue i too came to know this in like 4 days back. I knew it is there but didn't knew how to unlock it. In ac revelation video of the rip ac video he showed it.
@@LeoKRogue in brotherhood you have to complete those guild challanges to unlock this feature. For thives they get ability to loot people for us.
I jumped on the trilogy after origins and Valhalla and was like how tf…did I beat this game without crouching once 😂
Thanks!
Can you tell me how you double assassinate in brotherhood with one hidden blade.
@@shinobimsh5687 it's not at all stealthy. it will get you detected every time (so i wouldn't recommend for stealth missions) but what you wanna do is: Tackle someone, lock on to enter combat. Then ground stab them and use the chain execution mechanic to kill the next guy (this next guy should be whoever is about to attack you)
@@corvenalemna8631 oh that method, yup i know that saw that on rip ac video.
@@corvenalemna8631 but pulling this assassination is really fun though.
The fist fight down at Bartolomeo basement.. just max bet on all rounds and repeat the last round until you're rich
Yo leo k when will make this video about little mechanics we don't know in ac.
I'm not sure yet, but it is a cool idea ^_^
The stealth much more improved in the modern games
In some ways yes, in others it's gotten worse. Pros and cons.
@@LeoKRogue how has it gotten worse?
Consistency, Reliability
In AC1 to roughly around Syndicate, you can reasonably predict the consequences your actions will have on the game world, and make strong plans that work every time.
@@LeoKRogue Cool ,thanks for you answer. I am enjoying the Ezio Collection atm. Glad you like Valhalla.😊 I am looking forward to it, too.
So how do i do a fist drop a guy that did a parkour snippet told me it was a fist drop
Can i do it in brotherhood and revelations too?
Thanks for the tip about smoke in brotherhood
You sure can. ^_^
Works in AC1, AC2, Brotherhood, Revelations

Can you make stealth tips for assasins creed 3? Stealth in that game is rlly hard.
Are you playing the Original AC3, or AC3 Remastered? There are slight differences between them.

I'll install it soon and do some research.
Leo K [Rogue] thanks

Is Super Blend possible in any of the other games aside of the Ezio Trilogy, for example, Unity or the Kenway Saga?
A similar thing was once possible in Unity on early patches of the game, by dropping Money at your feet, waiting until Arno did the "bend down" animation while blended with Civilians, then sprinting out of the animation. From then on, you could never be detected again, provided you didn't blend with civilians again or reload your game.
Hmm, and by once possible I imagine that no longer is the case, right?
In later patches the bug was fixed.
Hmm.... Too bad, I guess.... Thanks for the replies!
Oh okay, I’ll do some testing and tell you what I find.
Alright, this isn’t extraordinarily rigorous, but this is what I’ve found:
Charged knives in Revelations do not increase damage in any way (if I had to guess why, I’d say it’s likely to encourage the player to use lethal bombs). They exist only for the purpose of allowing you to throw multiple knives simultaneously.
Knives one-shot:
Gunners, archers, regulars, agiles
Knives don’t one-shot:
Brutes, seekers, armoured enemies, Janissaries
Huh. Interesting.
Yea, it’s unfortunate that they decreased the usefulness of knives, but they probably really wanted to push the new bomb system, so I get it.
i have game of year eddition does that have dlcs ? because i already completted two templar lairs
Yes.
Hi, is the game on this video the enhanced version or the PC version?
PC.
i am pretty afraid from the slowness of assassination animations in the old AC games, like in AC unity assassinating takes like 0.5sec to excute.
should i be afraid or i'll just get used to it eventually
Assassinate people in low profile to do it faster. You'll get used to it. Also, animations in old AC games are always the same, as opposed to Unity in which they're random. Once you get used to their exact lengths, they become very easy to manage due to their consistency.
@@LeoKRogue thank you, Leo-Kun.
If it doesn't work on some types of guards, remember what they were and just use Poison Darts on them instead.
@@LeoKRogue okay. Thanks man
Any particular tips for AC3?
@@LeoKRogue oooh okay, makes sense now that I think about it, it recently happened in venice when assassinating the guy whose name I don't recall now... where the thieves help you out (or rather, you help them), he caught a glimpse of me and the entire fort was on my heels, as for the others I might well have let some roof guy flop to the street, that'll be it.
huh... that really makes throwing knifes a lot worse, I mean by the time you charged them in open combat someone has surely maced you in the face, right?
thought so, all the guards in forlí and venice will just have to be shot then, good to have that confirmed ^^
thank you for replying so quickly and extensively, I sure wasn't expecting that :D
found your channel a bit ago and pretty much instantly subbed, love your content, it's informative, entertaining and your tutorials on the older acs are amazing and on point. I loved the parkour system when they came out and your video about it sparked my nostalgia trip, I'll be going through the ezio trilogy these following weeks.
have a nice one, mate! :D
Yeah, that is very weird. I'm not sure what I could say about it. Sorry I can't be more helpful.
@@LeoKRogue don't apologise, you answering comments (in general, but even more,) on a months old video so willing to help out is far beyond anything I'd ever imagine any youtuber to do, I can't even express how much I appreciate and respect that!
it's just being weird again, I should be used to that by now, I've been playing these ever since I owned my first laptop and looking back ac2 has always been like that, just thought you may know something about the underlying mechanics of these glitches (I suppose?) as you are probably the most knowledgable person about these games I've seen so far, some of their weirdness is just unintelligible apparently lol
I'm almost through with it anyway, story is pretty much done, just need some more feathers, beat ups and treasures then it's on to brotherhood ^^
this is the curse of being such a sympathetic lad on youtube who answers all comments, you get asked random stuff by random people, know you are much appreciated, stay safe my dude! :D
I know I'm late but can someone please tell me how to switch between low and high profile modes? I'm finding it really frustrating when I'm just fighting dudes and the controls switch to high profile mode. I'm on PS4 and I'm pressing square to keep punching, then it switches to counter. Please help.
You're always in Low Profile by default. By holding R2, you switch into High Profile. (You'll see Ezio's stance shift a little too.)
To avoid that happening, try not to panic squeeze R2 when you're fighting. If you're not doing that, make sure your controller's okay and that all your button bindings are at their defaults.
@@LeoKRogue I figured out what was wrong. My PS4 controller glitched and kept thinking the R2 button was pushed. Sorry.
Didn’t even know that ac2 had smoke bombs
It was the first game in the series to feature them. :)
Ezio is given them by a Mercenary early on when hunting one of the 4 Targets in San Gimignano.
how do you charge throwing knives?
In AC2, you need to buy it as an Unlockable Move from the guy at the Fight Ring in Monteriggioni. Then you need to be _in combat_ and hold your attack button down with knives equipped.
In ACB and ACRev you can do it any time, and you can do it from stealth.
I wish that the smoke bomb pouch was bigger.... That way i would save money and kills we have only 3 smoke bombs
@@LeoKRogue Ahhh now I see. Thanks again Leo!
