What I remember about the rise of the Empire is... is how quiet it was. During the waning hours of the Clone Wars, the 501st Legion was discreetly transferred back to Coruscant. It was a silent trip. We all knew what was about to happen, what we were about to do. Did we have any doubts? Any private, traitorous thoughts? Perhaps, but no one said a word. Not on the flight to Coruscant, not when Order 66 came down, and not when we marched into the Jedi Temple. Not a word.
64 BitGit maybe all I remember is me and 3 of my friends playing it in the old PC in the corner of our after school daycare and it functioned the exact same as this game just with better graphics
I just thought I'd point out, Worms in 1995 *was* made for MS DOS (plus Amiga and so on, the same year the final version of Scorched Earth came out). Back in 1991, there were already good games for DOS including Civilization, Lemmings and Monkey Island 2, which are all REAL classics, and the last at least has very nice (if low-res) graphics. As for Scorched Earth and GORILLAS.BAS (probably came before?), they are heavily predated by 'Artillery' for the Apple II, released in 1980, and already had the wind element, as did other games from the 80s. The only decent series of games to come out of this genre is Worms, so I think 'mother of all games' is a bit of an exaggeration, to say the least... This tagline is based on a Saddam Hussein quote to the US saying that they would have "The Mother of all Battles" on Iraqi soil - a battle that eventually happened much later in 2003, in the form of the completely illegal Iraq War (that Britain was rushed into by the US and infamous Tony Blair false claims about 'Weapons of Mass Destruction' - a motion is now being brought against him TODAY for contempt of parliament after the damning Chilcot report - and people want him tried for war crimes, but that seems rather hopeful). This battle in Iraq was actually won pretty quickly, but the war is still being felt to this day in the form of ISIS, that you can bet contains many expert personnel from what was Iraq's military and police before all the supporters of the Ba'ath government were removed, and many weapons captured from Iraqi/Syrian armies (US/Soviet made), oh yes and not to forget the various rebel groups supported by US/Turkey such as Free Syrian Army (to overthrow another evil dictator Assad, to come after Gaddafi), but directly opposed by Russian forces (who are actually fighting ISIS now). The Chilcot report of course fails to mention the real motives for war, and, coincidentally, doesn't say a great lot about all the Iraqi oil industry, now run in part by BP, Shell, ExxonMobil... With BP's share 50/50 split with China, and other large/profitable fields going to China and Russia, then to Malaysia... There are many lessons to be learnt here. On the other hand the US arms industry (as well as Russian, British...) has probably not been doing too badly out of all this, so there's always an upside to everything!
Actually no. This game reminds HIM of worms because HE played worms first. This game came before worms, but that doesn't mean everybody knew about it before worms. So no, you are completely wrong. :)

So this game is the original version of tanks
Seriously look it up
Exactly what I thought. That's the game I saw my classmates playing when they were goofing off at school.
Yeah, i played that game a lots with friends in school and it was a blast.
Exactly what I thought!😂
My reaction exactly. Played it for hours with my cousin and siblings.
Only you could make a 10 minute video on Scorched Earth. Thanks for giving an old/simple game the love it deserves.
2016: I have stared into the abyss...
2019: and the abyss stared back.
The Goosh bad comment
I swear I played a remastered version of this game with my friends when I was 7 or something on PC
Pocket tanks maybe
64 BitGit maybe all I remember is me and 3 of my friends playing it in the old PC in the corner of our after school daycare and it functioned the exact same as this game just with better graphics
Me too. There were dozens of clones of this game.
or maybe it was tanks?
So, this is what Worms would be like if it was made on MS DOS
+J1337H4X0R Majority of the gaming populations first experience with Worns was Armageddon
+J1337H4X0R Holy Crap. Thank you, Professor. TL;DR
+J1337H4X0R oh wow, I didn't actually know that.
It’s fun to watch your videos in order and see you grow as a content creator
Yep. It’s so nostalgic and cool at the same time.
Reminds me of Worms actually.
Scorched Earth is from 1991, Worms is from 1995.
Pehmokettu
It's kind of obvious this game came before Worms.
+Pehmokettu
And Gorillas was before all of them... I remember playing Gorillas on QBASIC back in like 1989-1990 on an old Windows 3.1 machine.
lvl5Vaporeon So then Worms reminds you from Scorched Earth, and not Scorched Earth reminds you from Worms.
Actually no. This game reminds HIM of worms because HE played worms first. This game came before worms, but that doesn't mean everybody knew about it before worms. So no, you are completely wrong. :)
