    The reason that Ziggy survived in the end of the second part wasn’t because cpr can cure blood loss, but because Nick wanted her to live and used part of his devil deal for her to live. It suddenly makes more sense when it’s revealed that he made the deal. “I’ve let a lot of people die tonight, but not you”

    • @nailsarelife
      @nailsarelife 2 года назад +844

      I was thinking that, also. He took an axe to the leg to keep her safe. Why wouldn't he say a few words to bring her back? What gets me, though, is that he didn't even acknowledge in private that the curse was real. So, even though he brought her back, he still lost her.

    I just noticed (through my 7th watch of the movie and this kill count) that the Goode family specifically target people who were kind and friendly people. People that others trusted.
    The pastor was seen playful with the kids and they adored him, so they wouldn't think it weird when he called them into the church. They trusted him.
    Ruby was said to be a nice girl by her mum and sang in choir. She was invited to a party with a lot of people and the Goode probably knew and chose that time so she'd get the most victims (but then she committed suicide which possibly means she broke from possession to end her own life before she could take more).
    Tommy was the loved in the camp and all the kids had a moment of "Tommy what's wrong?" because they couldn't believe he'd do such a thing which lead to more being killed rather than them running away.
    Ryan we didn't see much of but he was a genuine friend to Heather and the other mall employees probably knew and trusted him too which is how he got so many before going for Heather.
    With this line of thinking it makes you wonder about the other killers. Was the milkman a kindly guy who everyone on the neighbourhood knew and loved? William was probably a sweet boy. It adds a new level of twisted that the Goodes didn't choose already "bad" people or typical loner people, but they went for people who were happy and had friends.

    • @jamescalder5115
      @jamescalder5115 2 года назад +180

    • @Cheetahgirl_Studios
      @Cheetahgirl_Studios Год назад +112

      Makes sense. It would be obvious for a bad person to do bad things. But if you choose a good, upstanding person, then it becomes a case where people may not want to necessarily believe that they would do something horrible. Would you really want to believe the big lovable dude who everyone likes in summer camp would turn around and start killing people? Or the nice girl that sings at church and is popular? It’s emotional manipulation on the Goode family’s part, and honestly? I kind of love it. It’s so detestable, and it highlights how truly wicked the family is. They’re willing to throw good people under the bus to get what they want.

      I honestly think it was a generational thing where they started to believe their own bullshit about Shadysiders being filth and degenerates. Not to get too real, but look at how people react these days to literal children whose parents are either immigrants, share different beliefs from them or whatever else; prime example being the Israeli-Palestinian conflict flaring up right now. People will dehumanize innocents and justify their horrible behavior at all costs, deluding themselves into believing whatever they want.
      It's sickening. They know deep down they're shitty people. Sheriff Goode probably thought he was doing the world a favor with his racial profiling and condemning innocent people to death/possessions, all while literally selling his soul to the devil.

    One of the few criticisms I have of part 3 is that I wish Ziggy had a bigger role. She barely reacted to seeing Tommy, the person who killed her sister and several of her peers, or Harry, the person who stabbed her to death when she was only 16, and even her reaction to seeing Nick again was reduced to one line. I understand they had a movie to get along with but it would've been great to flesh out these reactions.
    But otherwise, I absolutely love Part 3, and Sarah Fier's death scene was absolutely chilling.

      Well, she may have known that since that nick was the actual killer that Harry and Tommy themselves didn’t kill her or her or her peers so maybe she reacted differently. Also, she loved nick. So, maybe it was hard for her to process that the person she loved was evil and therefore only having only one line towards him.

    It's rather interesting how this flips the Fier/Goode situation as it was in the books. In the books, the Fiers are the ones who cause the curse by having Susannah Goode and her mother burned as witches because the Fier patriarch didn't approve of his son being in love with Susannah, prompting her father to curse the Fiers and starting the cycle of vengeance between the two families. But here, the Goodes are the villains and Sarah Fier is an innocent. I wonder if they just couldn't resist the pun of a family literally named "Goode" as evil.

He writes effective suspense and sets clear stakes for the characters, but makes sure that the stories end with the protagonists at least surviving their encounters with whatever bad thing is happening. But there's usually a small twist that hints that the story may not be over yet. It's effective writing for young audiences and Fear Street is his adult work so he does include the kills and overall more mature tone.
