- In this video, I go over how to make a bootable Mavericks USB that will work on supported computers without having to do any crazy workarounds. If you run into any problems or have any video suggestions, please leave a comment!
Mavericks Installer: archive.org/details/install-o...
I was trying to get my Mac Pro 4,1 working with a newer is (currently on snow leopard) and this is the only tutorial that’s worked. Thanks!
Thank you very much for this well produced video. Very simple, direct and helpful. Excellent work Sir.
Your explanation is excellent, my friend. Keep up these excellent videos
It seems that mavericks is a hard mac os to install nowadays, tried to do it on my own and i couldnt, then i found this video. This video is perfect, just what i was looking for, i really thank you for this, dont stop uploading!!
This is a work in process, at the moment, downloading the zip file which is taking a long time. But, what I will say, is having watched this in its entirety, I am hopeful I can now get the OS X Maricks system re-installed on my older macbook. Everything you said makes sense, and great examples of how you did it. This is great, because there is a lot of “crap” out there and advice that just isn’t working. Thanks for being clear, and to the point!
Glad I could help!
fun fact: if the original os your mac ran was mavericks, simply boot into recovery mode and erase the storage device containing the current macos installation. this will make the computer automatically reset back to its original software.
Hey there thanks for this helping Video - no matter what I do im getting this "Could not validate sizes - Operation not permitted" message when i try to restore the drive followed some instructions in the comment section but still no luck - would be glad to get an answer much love

It worked perfect thanks! Do you think if I made an image from the USB I could burn to a DVD for a bootable install disc?
I don't see why not!
NO WAY TECHINTOSH UPLOADED A NEW VIDEO
I didn't know anybody was even subscribed to this channel 😂Good to see some old faces though!
I get the error "Could not validate sizes - Operation not permitted" when I try restoring.
Use a zip extracter
You can just mount the disk image and drag everything into your usb (make sure to transfer the invisible files too)
Hi, every time I got to the restore the operation fails. I'm using a 128GB USB device
Make sure you are clicking on the partition and not on the drive.
same here , i am sure am clicking on the partition@@techintoshppc error said couldn't validate sizes/ operation not permitted
@@talaltaha5690 Maybe give this a try: apple.stackexchange.com/questions/389569/could-not-validate-sizes-operation-not-permitted-the-operation-couldn-t-be-co
But please, is it safe for us to download these copies of the old Macintosh onto our devices without infecting the device with viruses?
The Internet Archive is a pretty trustworthy website and I have found the installer to be legit.
When I put in the drive, it gave me X
For my usb I don’t see scheme option
If you are using the pre-10.11 disk utility, when using the erase function with OS X Extended (Journaled), the default scheme should be GUID.
it says restore process has failed on disk utility
same
Same here, I'm using a 2013 Retina A1398 running MoJave
However I didn't have a partition only the disc
do not use that internet archive page, use another installer download, the zip archive on that one will not extract properly
For some reason, the older OS X builds archive utility doesn't like the file. I recommend unzipping it with The Unarchiver.
