I currently use Mavericks on my Early 2008 iMac 24" to watch RUclips (and I'm typing on it right now!) and some basic internet usage while I'm in the basement. Nice video! :)

I use Mavericks on my 2013 Mac Pro "trash can". I have Adobe Suite CS6 on it and it does what I need it to do. Yes, the browsing functions with Firefox is fine for now, but one day it wont be. Im hoping some people develop a new browser for old Mac OSes (ArticFox is one), but Im gonna still use it for the production suite of the time. It just works, so I'm keeping it as is
Funny enough the studio in my town uses 10.7 to 10.9 on all their machines still mostly because the studio equipment wont work on 10.10 and above but mavericks was the last version of mac os to be optimised for hard drives
hello I have the same exact macbook as you and i’m wondering if you downgraded it to mavericks ? because im planning to do it but im scared make my computer unusable
@@XVoltProductions yeah mine is mid 2010 too it is actually running high sierra, I did the bootable usb and stuff and the only thing that i’m scared is if I erase my ssd will keep the recovery partition ? that’s the only thing that’s keeping me from doing it. thanks for your reply
to downgrade it you'd need to erase the hard drive and then use an installer USB to install it, but first you need to make sure that the mac supports mavericks first (usually one released before 2013)

Cool video, but one thing I'd like to add is that in terms of 3rd party browsers, Legacy Chromium does exist!

I used a 2010 MacBook for the purpose of making the video. if you have a MacBook that has supported mavericks in the past it should work fine

macos recovery is built into the computer and can't be erased if you erase the deive

for me it isn't an issue, but i get where you are coming from, it was probably the last mac os version before Apple started to become soulless
